Part 2, baby!
Today was the day. Our first ever family outting!
Everyone was gathered at the map for all the attractions and places to visit in the Hidden City, yet no one could agree on a location to start at.
"Hidden City Zoo?"
"Ooo! Luxury resort."
"Battle Nexus!"
"Oh! Witchtown!"
There was too many to choose from!
While they were pondering Raph, being the tallest of the group, happened to glance to his side while thinking and blinked in surprise to see, "Kara?!" His outburst caused everyone to stop what they were doing and follow where he was looking to see she was indeed up ahead walking and conversing with a tall woman. He went to call out to her but stopped himself wondering if she would ignore them so he looked to his brothers to get their opinion when Mikey began hopping up and down, waving frantically to get her attention while calling out her name.
They watched as the woman looks to their direction, stopping Kara and points to where they are. Kara turns to see them all and smiles before looking back at the woman, pointing at them now and lead her towards them. They all waited in anticipation til she was in front of them wearing a plain, white shirt, oversized coat that reached past her knees, and capri jeans. While they were gawking at her appearance, able to tell the changes from how she was to now, she gave them a genuine smile and wave, "Hello, everyone. H-How's it going?"
It only took a second for them to recover from their shock before the guys were surrounding her, all but Donnie who continued to stare at her, frozen in time, watching her talk with Raph and Mikey, the smile he knew for a moment starting to come back. When it came to she and Leo talking and watching her become shy he heard a record scratch in his mind and his eye began to twitch. It wasn't til Leo reached his hand out to touch her that he raised his voice and got in between them, "SO WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE, ANYWAYS?" He asked, his back to Leo.
She was taken aback by his outburst but figured he couldn't trust her after leaving them so she felt she deserved that, "Before I tell you, I need to introduce you to two people. Guys, this is Brilliance. She and Leafe took me in and have been helping me with..myself."
Brilliance walked up and nodded her head to them, "Hello, little ones. I've heard many good things about you. Also odd things." She looked to all of them, going down the line til her eyes landed on the smallest one wearing an innocent, naive expression on his face. They stared at each other for a moment before she turned away thinking to herself about how she wants to protect him, "Your friends are welcome to join us, if you feel comfortable with that." She went to leave til she froze hearing a loathsome voice,
"You look well, Kara."
Both of them tensed up hearing Draxum's voice. While Kara seemed to want to hide Brilliance was searching for him with hatred in her eyes, they beginning to glow. "I heard that fiend. Where is that coward hiding?"
Not liking or wanting the attention of her anger all of them parted to reveal Mikey holding a stuffed teddy bear with pinkish purple hair.
"D-Draxum?" Kara questioned with a raised brow down at the plush toy.
"Yes, it is I. Reduced to this pl-Oomph!" Suddenly, a dragon claw reached out and grabbed him, squeezing him tight enough to make him squeak, yanking him to Brilliance whose face was glowing with rage, "YOU!"
"Ahh, what is happening?" Donnie shouted, all of them growing nervous.
Before anyone could answer or move Kara's laughter caught everyone's attention, first starting as a giggle fit til she placed her hand over her head and it changed to laughing, she holding her side at how ridiculous he looked.
Her laughter seemed to be calming Brilliance down as she slowly lowered Draxum but kept her grip tight on his bow. They all blinked when Kara suddenly dropped to her knees, still laughing, but also began to cry, "I-I'm sorry! I ca-can't stop lau-haha-ghing! I do-n't know h-hahaha-how to feel r-right now!" Her laughter began to calm down but the tears fell the same. She talked big when wanting to save him that one day but now that she was face to face with him the fear and anger was coming back. And with him looking the way he is now she couldn't take him seriously.
Brilliance sighed heavily, dropping him to the ground, glaring daggers at him. "You have a lot to answer for, specially with what you did to Kara so you better start groveling."
"Tch. Baron Draxum doesn't grovel. Besides, all I did was try to mold her into the perfect warrior. Much like you are doing, it seems." he said eyeing the weapon poking out from under her coat.
"I saw her memories, Draxum, I saw how you and Big Mama treated her. And what's worse is that you took the one good thing that came from her mutation!" Brilliance roared making him take a step back.
"What are you talk-"
"Show him." Brilliance ordered Kara.
Kara bit her lip glancing from Brilliance to the guys before sighing and standing up. She turned around while removing her coat and took off her shirt, keeping her front covered to reveal her scars. Hearing the groups gasps she squeezed her eyes shut and immediately put the shirt back on.
"That is what you did to her when you entered the Dark Armor, Draxum. Your precious warrior broken by your own hands." Brilliance sneered glaring at the shocked Draxum.
"I-I did not.." Draxum's eyes trailed to the ground pondering when he did such an awful thing. A feeling he wasn't use to was entering his stomach and causing him to shake til Mikey's voice came to his aid.
"He wasn't in the Dark Armor when that happened. It had drained his life energy and spat him out at the stadium. It was alive because of him but he didn't do it."
Kara stared at him in surprise, "W-what?"
"It's true. We all saw him get spit out like a wad of chewed up gum." Raph confirmed.
"That doesn't change the fact it all happened because of him!" Brilliance pointed at Draxum causing him to stumble and fall on his plush butt.
While Brilliance was looking ready to stomp on Draxum Kara lifted her head slightly, as if something had caught her attention and she stood up, "Everyone..there's someone else I would like you to meet. She's been training me to become stronger." She unclipped the scabbard from her belt, pulling it out from behind her back and held out Alastair.
"A sword? I knew you would come around eventually. Swords are the coolest weapons afterall." Leo smirked while crossing his arms and giving her a wink, this making his brothers roll their eyes.
"Why are you showing us your sword?" Raph asked.
"Well, in order to meet her you have to touch the sword." Kara answered, looking at all of them.
Before anyone could question her further Draxum spoke up, jumping to his feet with a squeak, "That SWORD holds the spirit of a fierce, human warrior. It took me many years to find it and only the worthiest of warriors can wield it's power." He walked up to Kara who blinked down at him unsure what to do but slowly lowered the sword enough for him to reach. He opened his mouth to continue while reaching his stubby paw up but when he touched the scabbard he was thrown back by an invisible force. He made contact with Raph's chest, sliding down and landing on the ground with a 'Plop'.
"Woah." The boys said all at once.
Brilliance and Splinter shared a laugh, "Well at least she has good judge in character. Now, as a warrior myself, let me show you how it's done." Splinter was next to reach for the sword with such confidence only to meet the same fate as Draxum, falling right on top of him with the same plop sound.
Suddenly, static rose from the sword, Donnie exclaiming when his gear and gadgets started malfunctioning so he turned around trying to figure out the problem, tapping away, that he didn't notice said warrior spirit rising from the sword. Leo, Raph, and Mikey let out a gasp watching as she stared down at Donnie with a raised brow til her eyes trailed over to Splinter and Draxum, floating through Donnie to make her way to them, this action sending a shiver through his body, "What the?" He lifted his head in time to see the ghost and let out a yell, "Oh-my gosh! A Ghost!" He jumped on the nearest thing, which was Raph, clinging to him like a cat on a tree. Raph looked down at him with a raised brow til the sound of the ghost yelling caught everyone's attention, turning to her hovering over the two fallen warriors.
"Such arrogance ya hae! You! I feel some sympathy to for ye also be a victim o' him," Her glowing, angered eyes turned to Draxum for a moment before going back to Splinter, "But I did not give ye permission tae wield Alastair!"
"B-But what did I do? I did nothing wrong!" Splinter sputtered, jumping to his feet.
"Exactly. Ye did nothing. Ye knew o' this Dark Armor yet kept it a secret til it was too late." She bent down, poking his nose, making him groan, "If ye had intervened sooner then some o' the pain that was felt could hae been prevented." She turned her head slightly to look at Kara, who began to rub her arm and look away, this causing Splinter to lower his head. "Now. As for ye." She turned her attention to Draxum, eyes glowing again and the ends of her hair floating, giving her an ominous aura, "WHAT WERE YE THINKING?! SOMEONE WHO'S AS INTELLIGENT AS YE NOT LOOKING INTO THE ARMOR!"
During her scolding Mikey, Raph, and Donnie were huddled together feeling her anger all the way where they are.
"Dudes..she's really scary.." Mikey mumbled to his brothers who nodded in agreement all except Leo, who was staring at her in awe. The sounds around him faded to silence as he stared at her, focusing on her features.
"I don't think so." Kara said to them, smiling while Dragan had grabbed Draxum and was squishing and pulling at his cheeks, getting SOME payback for what he did to Kara, "Yes, she's intimidating and can be abit...feisty," She chuckled at her words but her smile stayed the same, "But that's what makes her so-"
"-Awesome." Leo finished Kara's sentence his awe expression changing to a goofy smile and his shoulders relaxing, this getting a weird look from them all, Kara more surprised than weird. "..Right." She nodded in agreement, turning to the others. It took a second to register his reaction, all of them now crowding the dazed Leo.
"Err, Leo? You ok?" Raph waved his hand in front of his face but Leo's dopey expression stayed the same. When nothing changed Mikey let out an over the top loud gasp and got in front of him, grabbing Leo's shoulders and shaking him, "Oh no! He's broken!"
Hearing this, Dragan, Draxum, and Splinter looked to the group of teens, Dragan dropping Draxum.
Donnie shoved Mikey out of the way, poking his cheeks harshly, but when no reaction came he began to examine him by running a scan on him. "Checking his vitals.."
In the background Brilliance let out a sigh and smacked her forehead, wondering why the young were always so dense.
Leo let out a gasp when their eyes met everything disappearing but them two, the darkness around her making it look like she had an ethereal glow to her that made her look even more beautiful to him.
"Well, hello." Donnie said aloud, looking to his wrist at Leo's vitals.
"What? What is it?" Raph shouted.
"His heart rate just elevated." Donnie explained with a raised brow.
"Is he dying?" Mikey asked, clinging to his third favorite brother.
While the two brothers were worrying over their older brother Kara blinked when she noticed Leo's focus had been on Dragan ever since she appeared. Getting a good look at his expression then trailed over to Dragan she began to connect the dots and soon the answer came to her, "Oh." Was all she could say before she let out a sigh of relief, smiling for him.
Hearing the brothers worry for their own she too grew worried and floated over to them, the others making way for her so she was now in front of him. "Are ye alright?" She asked softly while reaching her hand out to touch his face, this snapping him out of his trance and when he saw she was right in front of him his face started changing as red as his markings, starting from his chin up to the top of his head. Leo opened his mouth to say something but he suddenly forgot how to speak nothing but sounds escaping him til he finally said, "Are you kidding? I'm Leo-tastic!" He strained to say with his face stretched in an awkward smile while giving her a thumbs up, sweat streaming down his face.
"His heartbeat is racing and is experiencing hyperhidrosis; excessive sweating." Donnie said, tapping away at his wrist and giving Mikey and Raph the side eye, the definition being for them, til a hand stopped him and he looked over to see Kara smiling at him. "He's going to be fine." Dragan's sudden laughter had them look over at her, that and it snapping Leo out of his second trance, "Ye are a funny one, Leonardo."
"Wait..y-you know my name." Leo asked in surprise, this causing his smile to widen as much as his eyes.
"Why, yes, when Kara an I bonded we shared not only our memories but knowledge wi one another. I know ye all." She looked at all of them, saying their names as she did before going back to Leo, returning his smile.
"Now that THAT is out of the way we can finish the introductions." Kara smiled and held out Alastair, Dragan smiling to her and retreating back inside. One by one the guys and April placed their hands on the sword and when it was Draxum and Splinter's turn she gave it a look til she nodded to the two, Dragan giving them permission.
When Draxum was the last to do so he found himself in an open, flowery field, the sound of wind blowing and swaying the flowers. He and the others were looking around in awe til their eyes set upon Kara and next to her was the spirit but now in human form with long, flowing, red, curly hair that was tied in a ponytail, wearing a white tunic top that was tucked in tight and the sleeves rolled up to her elbows, black pants, and knee length, black leather boots. Even from where they stood they could see the scars from her many battles on her muscular arms. Dragan blinked when they were all in her presence and turned her attention to them, showing her freckled, sun kissed face. "Gentlemen." She greeted with a grin while holding her arms out, "Welcome to my domain."
Each of them was given a memory from either girls though each one was random.
Mikey had one of Dragan as a child playing with toy swords chasing after chickens only for the chickens to retaliate and charge in a horde, she screaming and running away while her grandpa and uncle laughed, her father running to save her while her mom and grandma reprimand the men for laughing. Mikey cupped his cheeks at her adorableness.
Raph got one of Kara as a child with her Aunt working on their farm, little Kara struggling to pull some weeds and when she eventually succeeds she is thrown off her feet but was caught by her Aunt, both of them sharing a laugh. Raph blushed at seeing Kara truly happy.
Donnie got one of Kara's recent memory of her saying her goodbyes before leaving them, standing over his sleeping form with sorrowed eyes and leaning down to kiss him but stopped when she heard Sheldon waking up. After comforting him and he going back to sleep she went back to his side and said her goodbyes, kissing him on the cheek, this action causing his fingers to twitch remembering that he felt something when he woke up and it being her.
Splinter was shown of one with Kara in her preteens on the phone, "Hey, dad, t-today is my birthday and I heard you're in the city. We can go have lunch and catch up?" Even where Splinter was he could hear the crowds, clicks of cameras going off, "No, sorry, Sara, I already have lunch plans with my record business. Another time." Click.
"It's Kara.." She dropped her arm letting her phone fall to the floor and her head hanging low. Splinter couldn't believe what he saw, someone who he grew close to treat one of his daughters that way. He was angry.
April had one of Kara as a human, two years younger when she was still in school, eating junk food while watching TV upside down, laughing to herself at something funny going on during the show while stuffing her face with chips.
Draxum on the other hand was in her first memories with his old self, training her to exhaustion, she lifting her head to look at him with bruises, dirt, and vomit from the exertion panting heavily to where it sounded like she was hyperventalating. With the way he was standing it was as if she was looking right at him; this causing him to clench his fist. He was soon transported to another memory but with Kara being held down to her knees by two of Big Mama's henchmen while she stood over Kara holding something in her hands, smirking evily down at her.
Leo got one of Dragan being knighted, the cheers of her brothers in arms roaring throughout the castle and her being crowded by men who wanted to confess their love only to he kindly, yet firmly, rejected. "Sorry, lads, but ma soulmate is out there in the vast open land, not one o' ma comrades I fight alongside wi." She moved her head looking out a window yet from where he stood it's as if she was looking right at him. Leo let out a gasp when their eyes met again, feeling a chill run down his spine. He was then taken to the memory of Kara where she and Donnie zinged, staring into each other's eyes in awe. Something in him clicked that made him realize what he was afraid of; she didn't share his feelings. He looked back up at Dragan as she was talking to Kara and sighed softly, maybe he wasn't as afraid as he used to be.
"It looks at though everyone is having a good time, no?" Brilliance asked having suddenly appeared before them.
"What the? How'd you get in here?" Draxum asked, tense as a cat feeling as though she was going to kill him here, the look she was giving him not helping.
"When you're as strong as I am you don't need permission." Brilliance smirked at him while giving him a look that called him 'pathetic', this getting on his nerves. "Anyways," She looked away from him and turned to Kara, "I'm sure you're having a wonderful time but yokai are bound to get suspicious at you all standing motionless on the outside."
"Oh, right, yes. All ye hae tae do is will yourself tae leave. Quite simple, really." Dragan crossed her arms with a smile as one by one they left, Kara being the first then so on til it was just her and Leo, the breeze blowing between them bringing her hair and the ends of his mask with it.
"When can I see you again?" He asked.
She stared at him a moment before walking up to him so they were face to face, "Worry not, ma friend, we will see each other again. It shouldn't be long now til Kara has reached her full potential an not just confidently fight by ye an your brother's sides but be the friend she longs to be." She lowered her head some with a smile on her face, "She is a beautiful an kind soul, isn't she? One that could steal the hearts o' any she wishes, no?" She stared into his eyes with a raised brow his own raising realizing she saw the memory of their kiss and went to explain but he felt himself being pulled away, "See you soon, Leonardo." She waved bye, image now fully gone.
He woke up to Mikey slapping him across the face with Donnie having his rocket hammer out but was being held back by a glaring Kara. "Huh?"
"Welcome back, buddy." Raph said, helping him to his feet.
"Was I out long?" Leo asked while rubbing his head his attention going to Kara who stared at him for a milisecond before looking away nervously, "So, what are you guys doing here anyways?" Kara asked hoping to get the attention off her.
"We're on a family outing. We were just discussing what to pick. We had narrowed it down to two hundred activities when we spotted you." Raph explained to her.
"Wow, that many? Didn't realize this place was that huge. What did you decide on?"
"I was thinking that instead of wasting the day away by voting we each go our separate ways and do what we want." Raph answered with a shrug and smile.
Everyone seemed to be in agreement with that but before anyone could ask, "Can I join you, Raph?" Kara asked while walking to his side.
Everyone blinked at this, Raph unsure why him but didn't want to make her feel uncomfortable, "Uh, sure, come on." He gestured her to follow him but she turned back to Brilliance, "Is that ok?"
"Yes, I'll find you when he is done. Go have fun." Brilliance smiled wide watching her grab his finger and pull him along. She watched the purple one seem to be frozen in place while the others looked confused. She too was curious but shrugged it off.
Spotting a pamphlet that caught his eye Raph picked it up and began to read it out loud, "Police ride-along. Ride side by side with the Hidden City police as they conquer crime in the underworld and you get to keep one confiscated item. Oh-ho-ho! I am NOT passing this up! Do you mind if we do this?" He asked Kara while giving her excited puppy eyes, this making her giggle. "Not at all. I'm here to enjoy myself as well. I didn't know you were interested in being a police officer." She said as they made their way towards the police station.
"Lou Jitsu was a hero of justice and from the moment I saw his movies I wanted to be just like him. And there's no one else who hands out justice like officers of the law."
"Wow, Raph, that's actually quite impressive. I'm sure with just your size you'd intimate any lowly criminal."
"I know it's not for everyone..so why did you choose me to go with?" Raph looked down at her with curiosity and worry but her attention was ahead of them, pointing, "Oh, we're here."
When the doors opened everyone's attention was soley on them. The stunned and confused looks on their faces were contagious due to her own at their reactions but somehow Raph didn't seem to notice or mind. The confident mutant turtle walked with equal confidence to the front desk, he holding onto her hand so she was sort of being dragged along his side, "R-Raph, do you see how everyone is acting?" She whispered wondering why they were getting behind cover with their weapons out. Was it because of her? She never did anything illegal with Big Mama..did she make a name for herself when working with Draxum? "Oh, no, am I gonna get arrested?"
"I don't think it's ya, Kara. Stay sharp."
"Hello, good officer, sir. I would like to partake in your ride-along program." Raph smiled up at the two officers, who stared down at him in bewilderment while pulling up a wanted poster, then to Kara who was looking nervous. The two looked at eachother, both thinking she was a newbie and nodded to him with a smile. "Uh, suuure, right this way." The woman gorilla yokai said with a wide smile, her partner nodding before each of them grabbed his arms, keeping him in place, "Let us help you." He nodded to another officer who went behind Kara and grabbed her arms from behind, following after the two dragging Raph towards their cop cars, which were large snails.
"Soooo, interested in criiime, are ya?" One of the officers asked.
"Oh yeah. Some say I'm an expert but I say you could always learn more-"
"Right!" Partner cop shoved Raph into the back of the 'vehicle' Kara soon following suit, but he managed to catch her before she could hurt herself. "Wait, are you doing with my-"
"We'll hold onto these for quote-on-quote insurance reasons." Partner cop said while waving his weapon and the other officer handing him Kara's sword. "No, Dragan!" She went to reach out for her sword but the officer closed the door on her. All Raph could do was sit there in confusion, "Insurance?"
"Raph. I don't think this is how a ride along goes." She whispered but stopped when she heard the two officers speaking, listening closely. "Heinous Green? Do they think he's that guy? This can't be good.." Hearing Raph whimper she turned around to see him pointing a flashlight at three other yokai in the snail car. One being a ogre wearing an opened blue vest, black tank top that was tucked into his tattered jeans, flip flops, and fingerless gloves. He snapped a comb out of its confines too close to Raph, he letting out a noise, and watching him comb his tall, unkept hair that was held up by a blue bandana. The second was a rat yokai wearing a purple suit styled like a 1950s gangster with matching hat carving 'Love and Peace' with a knife on the walls, drawing the top of a heart. And last, was an electric eel yokai wearing an orange shirt over a black, long sleeved one and matching headgear. Due to them crowding around a severly uncomfortable Raph she was forced to stand, not that she didn't mind the attention not being on her. It would also make it easier in case a fight broke out and she needed to help him.
"Uh. Excuse me! Not to question how you do your ride alongs but..this is a bit more hands on than the brochure lead me to believe."
"Ok, drop the ride along bit! You're ours now, Heinous Green." Gorilla woman held out the wanted poster, Raph taking it to get a good look while the others in the snail car were in disbelief. "What? This isn't me! He doesn't even have my handsome snaggle tooth."
Kara gulped nervously. If he said it out loud then they're bound to not believe him if he said otherwise. "So, you're Heinous Green, are you?" The ogre asked with crossed arms, his glaring eyes making the scar tattoo on his left eye look more intimidating.
Before Raph could answer, she stepped forward, "Of course, this is THE very Heinous Green. You dare to question him?" She walked over and sat on Raph's lap while grabbing his head and turned it to the ogre, "Anyone with a brain could tell who he is. Isn't that right, Heinous Green." She made him look at her, she giving him a look that said to play along. He stared at her while speaking in a monotone voice, "Yes. Yes I am."
"The legendary Heinous Green. We outta make him our leader. What do you say, Dastardly Danny?" Eel yokai got in front of the ogre, smiling at Raph before looking to his brother.
"Yeah. I second that, Malicious Mickey. As long as this beautiful dame comes along with us." He bowed to Kara while taking her hand and gave it a kiss, this making her blush and smile at him. "Such a gentleman, you are." He gave her a wink, his left ear with a bite mark on it twitching, til he looked back at his other brother, who began to speak, "What? Blue guy is always the leader!"
"Hey! Shut your word hole, Loathsome Leonard. So, uh, what's the plan, new leader?"
"New leader? Uh, well, as your new leader I say we suh-sit here quietly and respectfully til we get to our destination where we can get this whole incarceration situation figured out."
All Kara could do was sigh and drop her head. She blinked when instead of them going for his throat they began to laugh.
"Obviously, he's joking. Cause what he meant is let's bust out of this snail jail." Dastardly Danny leaned on one side of Raph while Malicious Mickey held on to his other side, "And with Heinous Green's strength on our side that should be cake."
All of them stood up ready to enact their plan and with all of them standing they shoved Kara around til she landed in the arms of Dastardly Danny, "Woah, be careful there, beautiful. It's best if you stand back here. I wouldn't want you to get hurt." He gently grasped one of her hands while looking into her eyes, this causing her to blush and giggle more, "I didn't know someone with the name Dastardly could be such a charmer."
"I have many sides to me that I will gladly show you when the time is right." He gave her a wink making her face feel like it was on fire and laugh awkwardly til Raph yanked her from his arms, "Nu-uh. She's taken, bucko."
"Woah, sorry, leader. I didn't know she was yours."
This got both of them to blink at him with a raised brow.
"That's not what I mea-"
"-We're wasting time! Hurry up so we can get out of here." Loathsome Leonard shouted, looking annoyed towards the two.
Raph sighed and set her down in the seat so she wouldn't get hurt.
She watched him walk up to the door, thinking he was just going to break it with his fist but blinked when instead they lifted him up like a battering ram and began to bang his head on the door causing the whole snail to jerk and shake til they all were rolled out of the back and into the open, the group immediately running off leaving Kara and Raph behind. "Raph. We need to go." She grabbed his arm to help him to his feet.
"Halt, criminals!" Gorilla woman shouted as she and her partner ran after them.
"Officers! There's been a big misunderstanding." Raph held his arms up nervously trying to show he wasn't a threat but Kara kept trying to pull him away.
"They're not gonna listen. We need to leave and think of something else."
Seeing something being thrown at them by the flying lion, Raph pushed Kara out of the way and ended up getting trapped in a large ball and instantly started rolling away. "Woah!" She shouted, running after him.
"Heinous Green's been caught!" MM shouted.
"Leave him. He's dead weight." LL shouted back while Raph caught up to them, rolling in the ball with Kara racing by his side. "Yes, great idea! Leave me behind with the police."
"No way. You're one of the Mud Dogs now." DD stated while glancing back hearing a noise to see Kara tripping and about to be left behind, so he grabbed her arm and pulled her into his arms. "Both of you." He winked down at Kara til he noticed they were coming up to a cliff, so they all grabbed hold of the ball, DD keeping Kara between him and the ball to protect her, as they went airborne til they were caught by a flying centipede creature and made their daring escape.
Eventually finding a safe spot LL picked up a large egg and cracked it letting the insides fall onto some mushrooms that instantly burst into flames on impact. "Now that we're out we should pull a robbery. Something exciting!"
"Yeah! Oh! What about a train? Or-uh-or a bank! Huh? W-What do you think, Heinous Green?" DD asked looking to LL then Raph.
Kara rubbed her arms to get warm, wondering how it could be so cold out here when she noticed MM trying to get warm too so she took her jacket off and held it out for him. "Here." She gave him a smile, he putting it on while hugging himself at how cozy it is. "Thanks, sis." He smiled at her with such brightness it made the speckle of freckles on his nose area glow. She blinked in surprise at his response a sudden warm feeling coming over her, "Uh, sure, you're welcome." She stared into the fire, his response repeating in her head, her smile becoming softer.
"Fellas. I have the crime of a lifetime." Raph said in a low, sinister voice followed by an equally low, sinister chuckle.
This acting made Kara raise a brow but wondered what he had planned.
Arriving at their destination she immediately smacked her forehead wondering how she thought he was the sane one; they standing right in front of the police station.
"We're going to rob a police station?"
"Think about it. Where does all the money go when they catch a gang of robbers?"
"Back to the bank." Kara muttered under her breath.
"Answer: Police station!" Raph continued, ignoring her mumbling. "And it's always open, and et cetera."
"Oh-my gosh-they're not going to fall for this.." Kara covered her face thinking this was the end for them when she moved one of her fingers away from her eye to hear the opposite instead, all of them voicing their agreements but only able to hear MM.
"Yeah, that does make sense."
"You must of been on the debate team." LL smirked at him, impressed.
"Now, here's the plan: First: Put on these disguises." Raph pointed down to the disguises he had her get for them.
"Oh, wait, hold on." MM took her jacket off and handed it back to her, "Thanks again, sis." H gave her a cheek grin before he and his brothers put on tall stoneheads heagear where the eyes glew, smoke poofed from the tops, and they spoke in a weird, echoing voice saying, "I am a criminal!"
Kara deadpanned wondering how they're not getting suspicious at this point. "This Heinous Green character must be not only deadly but intelligent for them to play along this far without hesitation."
"Danny, you create a diversion by confessing to a crime. Mickey, you bash the cymbals while Leonard dances his way into the evidence room. Go!"
"We will not be parted for long, my sweet." DD kissed her hand again before he was dragged away by his brothers.
She waved bye to them knowing she'd never see them again and was starting to oddly miss them. But there was nothing she could do so she let out a sigh and turned to Raph. "Ok, so how do we get you out of there?" She asked while knocking on the glass like orb, looking for an off button or something.
"That'll get those bozos caught for sure. Heh-heh I'll be a hero for turning them in and I can clear up this whole Heinous Green situation once and for all."
She raised a brow wondering who he was talking to, so she stood up straight and opened her mouth to ask but was stopped when she saw the three walking out the front door in the reflection of the orb. "Uh-oh." She turned around.
"Uh-oh-WHAT?!"
"It worked perfectly!" The Mud Dogs exclaimed in unison, having popped up in view holding their prizes of bags of cash one in each hand, except MM who was still holding the cymbals.
"I mean-uh- great news, guys!" Raph placed his hands on his hips while trying to look happy but instead it looked awkward.
"We got these keys to get you out." DD walked up and unlocked the orb, it disappearing and dropping Raph to the ground.
"Thanks, Danny." Kara helped Raph to his feet trying to figure out how they were able to succeed in an obvious trap. She sighed heavily wondering which side was dumber, these guys or the uniformed officers.
"Where are we gonna stash this loot?" MM asked.
"Uh in the arms of its rightful owners?"
This got the three to laugh once more.
"That is funny coming from an accessory to a crime. Nah, we're gonna stash it in a hideout." LL stated.
"Do you guys not have a hideout?" Kara asked with a raise brow.
"We don't have a home. We come and go as we please." LL said with his eyes closed and a smile.
"Yeah, but it would be nice to have someplace to feel safe at the end of the day, something that's ours, to call a home." MM added with a sad yet hopeful look.
"We were small time criminals before you showed up. But now with you as our leader and you supporting us with your beauty we can finally afford to live a life of luxury." DD pulled Kara to his side by her waist and closed his eyes able to share a future of them living together with her being a stay at home care taker while they go to work stealing and heisting 9-5 then coming home to a nice, homecooked meal. Even Kara was getting invested in it til Raph pulled her away from him, snapping her back to reality. "I know just the place!" He shouted, getting everyone's attention.
Well, if she thought Raph's ideas couldn't get weirder, she was proven wrong immediately, they now standing in front of the prison.
"You want us to break INto a prison."
"Well, you three did just rob a police station. What could go wrong here?" Kara asked, lifting her head up to see how tall the building was.
"It's the perfect hideout. They look for people breaking out of prison, not breaking IN." When MM and DD nodded, Raph pulled out a large burlap sack and opened it, "Alright hop in." MM and DD jumped in without hesitation, coins and pink unicorns being thrown in the air, LL is last and slowly climbs in while staring down Raph, this making her wonder if he was starting to grow suspicious. Before Raph closed it, she grabbed the opening, looking at them with worry, "Be careful, guys." She gave them a small smile and wave before Raph closed it and send it over the fence like a hammer toss, both of them watching it crash through the wall in the upper-middle area.
"So, think it'll work this time?" Kara asked, crossing her arms.
"Heh-heh this time they're caught for sure." Raph said to himself while dusting his hands clean, "Come on, Kara, we better head ba-AHH!"
MM popped his head out from a sewer opening, "All set, boss!" MM startled Raph to the point of flailing and falling to the ground.
Seeing MM safe and sound, Kara felt relief wash over her. They were starting to grow on her. She watched Raph get swiped, hearing him scream as he fell down the hole and blinked when MM climbed out and pointed at his back, "Hop on, sis, I'll get you down safely."
"Aww, thanks Mickey." She hugged him from behind and tucked her legs up so they wouldn't drag and let out a startled yell as they fell only to land safely on a cushiony sofa.
"We landed in a minimal security presidential suite. We can come and go as we please." Danny stated while spreading his arms out to give a look at the place.
Kara let out a whistle, even she had to admit this place was snazzy. "I wonder if this place is for the warden." She got up and ran her hand over the fabric of the pool table but noticed the bars on the right side of the room, "Or perhaps corrupt rich folk? Doubt it. Ra-Heinous Green, what're you thinking?" Her body jolted when she saw him punching himself in the face.
"Woah. He IS tough. He even roughs himself up."
"What can I say, that's how he comes up with his many amazing plans." Kara said in a monotone voice and went over to stop him, having to literally grab his arm and hold it at his side.
"You know, at first I felt you were put in charge just for change, which hurt my feelings," LL walked up to the two, giving them an approving smirk, "But here you have a real knack for crime."
"Guess we know what we gotta do now, huh, boss?" DD walked up with MM behind him.
"Recharge our batteries for the evening?" Kara questioned thinking it'll be a good time to run and think of a different plan.
"Heh-heh-heh, of course I do but uh-you go and tell everybody else. Specially her." He pointed at Kara making her squint her eyes at him, still having a hold of his arm.
"Ha, come on, you know we gotta kick a share of this loot to Big Mama. Otherwise-" LL shuddered just thinking about what she could do.
Upon hearing Big Mama's name Kara tensed up, squeezing Raph's arm, which didn't go unnoticed, glancing at her for a moment to see nervousness and fear on her face til she looked away to keep the others from noticing. "Is there any wiggle room for that?" Raph asked in a tiny voice not liking the idea of either of them having to see her.
This got a laugh out of DD as the other two were walking away, "Oh, you are Heinous, but no. We die. Come on."
Upon arriving at the entrance to Big Mama's building they were let inside with no trouble, no questions the moment they laid eyes on Kara. She was thankful for the moment but knew it wouldn't last.
Hearing Big Mama speaking to someone she clenched her fists while subtly moving behind the Mug Dogs, trying to cover Raph as much as possible, "If only I had my wings.."
"Well, what brings you fine thuggy doodles to Big Mama?"
"Ugh. She still talks like that."
"We pulled off a big score and we're here to give you your cut." Leonard explained while Mickey tossed her a large bag of loot, "Ha! We robbed a police station."
"Scrum diffy doo. How did you do that?" Big Mama stared at the large bag in amazement before her eyes went to them.
"With the help of the greatest mastermind in all of Hidden City: Heinous Green." Leonard explained with pride.
"That doesn't sound like Heinous Green. He's more brawn than brains."
Kara's eyes widened when she saw Leonard reaching for Raph, "With a little help even the brainless can become smart." Kara stepped forward narrowing her eyes at Big Mama, "Hello again."
"Ah, my ex-champion. I didn't know you had it in you to become a criminal. Perhaps my methods DID change you." Big Mama smirked at Kara watching her face darken at her words, "And here I thought you were staying with Draxum after leaving behind your title. But I guess I can be wrong sometimes."
"What can I say? They're likable characters." She turned to look at them, giving them a smile causing them all to blush.
"Speaking of Draxum. I know he's gotten all goody-oody two shoes so I would like to give him a gift for-helping me from before. You just saved me the trouble of searching for him." Big Mama opened a drawer in her desk, Kara giving Raph a quick glance and sighed when he wasn't looking at her so she tried to think of another way for him to escape.
"Wait. Wait. Wait. What? Heinous Green's girl is Winx?!" Leonard exclaimed while pointing at her, this getting a gasp from the other two, DD walking up to her, "I knew you looked familiar! Remember me from the stands from your last show?" DD grabbed her upper hands looking her in the eyes. She blinked in surprise remembering, "Yes, you were wearing different clothes, if I recall." She felt him squeeze her hands while looking down, "Only a beautiful dame like you could find someone as smart and devious as Heinous Green." He sighed softly while slowly letting go of her hands.
"She is not my girl!" Raph shouted, blowing his own cover. All Kara could do was sigh.
Big Mama's surprise changed to sly as she walked up to the nervous Raph a smirked crossing her lips. "Er-uh..H-Hi Big Mama..."
"Hello turtley boo." Big Mama greeted while giving a wiggly wave with her hand and placing a clear case with a disk inside Kara's pocket. "Gentlemen, this is not Heinous Green. THAT is Heinous Green." Big Mama pointed behind them, they shouting their surprise when lo and behold: Heinous Green in the flesh. A massive turtle with two red mohawks on the sides of his head, wearing bandages around his arms and upper legs, a black and red kimono top with the sleeves ripped off.
Kara got close to Raph as the not so good attention was now on them, Leonard obviously angry, Danny more ticked, and Mickey just staring at them. "Raph, we need to find a way out of here." She whispered while her eyes frantically searched the room for an escape, they beginning to back up as the group began to gang up on them.
"My bad! Heh...Alright. I owe you an apology. This has been one big misunderstanding."
"Yes, yes! An amusing case of mistaken identity." Big Mama giggled while shapeshifting into her spider form. "Destroy them."
Kara glared at Big Mama before turning her attention to the Mud Dogs who were flying at them to attack. "So long, fellas, it was fun." She clenched her fist ready to fight when Raph grabbed her and pulled her down, they flying into Big Mama. Raph grabbed her hand and went to make a break for it only to smack into Heinous Green.
They stared up at him as he growled and began to expand, his muscles and height growing bigger til he completely towered over them. "Woah." Was all Kara could say before she was pulled away and flew out the broken window with Raph throwing her on his back. She looked back one last time at the Mud Dogs, Danny and Mickey looking at her with sad eyes before she closed her eyes and turned away.
"You know, we gotta stop making this a thing. You're getting way too used to me being on your back while being chased." She shouted through the wind and noises of the city.
"You could always carry me." Raph shouted back as he ran, twisting and turning through the crowds and streets to outrun HG.
"Raph, before we don't have a chance I want to tell you something."
"Wait, hold that thought!" Raph skidded to a stop in front of a water trough where thin, flying dragons were drinking wearing saddles. He climbed on, she behind him, but not knowing anything about flying he freaked the creature out and it began to speed through the city while screeching and flapping frantically.
"Oh, give it here, Raph!" Kara shouted while climbing over him, taking over the reigns and placing her feet in the stirrups and tensed her body while taking a deep breath and gently pulled on the reigns. The dragon soon began to calm down and then came to a stop. She gently rubbed its neck but stopped when she heard commotion behind her. "Great, he's still on us." She tapped the creature's side three times with her heel and it raced off like a sailfish after its prey, passing an oblivious Mikey, Splinter, and Draxum.
"Woah, Kara! I didn't know you could drive this thing!" Raph exclaimed in amazement, eyes sparkling in awe.
"It's no different than riding a horse. Though I'm not sure how to get it in the sky." She laughed nervously only to scream when they were coming up on an old, lady dog pushing a cart and crashed, Kara still on the dragon but Raph being dragged behind in the cart like a chariot, keeping hold of its leg. "I'm just gonna say it! I chose you because things are awkward with your brothers! I don't think Donnie likes me anymore, Leo kissed me before I left and I don't know how to go about it, and I still feel uncomfortable around Mikey when he hurt me with his weapon! I chose you because you look after me the most. You make sure I'm ok without making it weird." She shouted before screaming as they ran down a ramp with HG right behind them.
"Hold on!" She screamed as they soared into the sky, HG jumping at them and reaching out for Raph but missed by an inch. Raph began to laugh mockingly at HG while Kara sighed in relief, thinking it was over, but their dragon had other plans. First, it bucked Kara then it kicked Raph off before flying away.
With Kara being the first to land on HG's face she went to pick herself up only to let out a noise when he grabbed her off his face to get a good look at her til Raph landed next smack on his face. "Uh, Mister Heinous, I didn't mean to impersonate you.." Raph said in an apologetic way.
HG growled and turned around while pulling his arm back with Kara in it. Her eyes widened, the two looking each other in the eyes. "Raph.." She whispered while reaching her arm out to him, he doing the same til she was thrown in the air, flying back into the direction of the city, screaming with her arm still outstretched.
"NOOO!" Raph screamed watching in horror as she was thrown away, she becoming a speck til she was out of sight.
