It begins with Peter Jason Quill was at the mall with his mother,Meredith. Later,two gunmen open fire,killing four people,including Meredith. Logan kills one & wounded the other. Peter was later abducted by the Ravager,led by Yondu.
Many years later,Peter steals the mysterious orb on Morag,but was attacked by the henchmen of Ronan the Accuser,led by Korath. He quickly escapes with the orb. Ronan sends in Gamora to hunt down Quill. At Xandar,Quill was about to sell the orb when Gamora ambushed him. The fight ensues draws in Rocket Raccoon & Groot before the four are arrested by the Nova Corps officers. They were taken to the Klyn prison where Drax the Destroyer attempt to kill Gamora due to her association with Ronan,who killed his family on Thanos' orders. She reveals that she has betrayed Ronan,unwilling to let him use the orb that contains a Power Stone. They quickly escape as Gamora's adoptive daughter,Nebula infiltrates the Klyn prison.
Quill's group arrived at Knowhere,but Ronan's army attacks them,almost killing Gamora,and stealing the orb. Quill saves her before Yondu arrives. Quill negotiates the truce so they can face Ronan & his army,which Yondu agrees. Ronan begun using the Power Stone attacks Xandar. Quill & the others fought against Ronan & his armies,killing Korath & defeating Nebula.
Quill distracts Ronan,allowing Rocket to destroy Ronan's warhammer,freeing the stone. Quill grabs it and with his group,sharing the burden,uses it to kill Ronan. Quill gives the Power Stone to the Nova Corps,naming his group,the Guardians of the Galaxy,and receiving their ship.
Mid-Credits:
Nebula,who survived the ship's destruction,report the situation to Thanos.
