Hadrian's Pov
We all stood and walked through the kitchen, I grabbed the rags as we passed them and headed into the back garden
"Over here Pup, we've got a fire pit." Siri commented, I glanced over and saw him walking towards the small fire pit, I followed him to the pit and dropped the rags into the pit
"Ready cub?" Remus asked, I looked up at him and nodded
"I'm ready to remove that part of my life from my past." Remus nodded and rested a hand on my shoulder, Siri followed suit, placing a hand on my other shoulder, I pulled my wand out and pointed it at the fire pit "Incendio." A short fire stream burst from my wand, hitting the rags and setting them alight. I cut the stream of fire and lowered my wand, tucking it back away in my holster, we then stepped back and watched the fire burn the rags to ash, and the sky turned dark
"It's getting late Cub, I'm going to head to bed." Remus said squeezing my shoulder, I nodded and looked up at him
"Alright, Goodnight Remus." He smiled and headed inside
"I'll stay out a bit longer with you pup, I want to make sure that they are well and truly gone, you don't have any more hidden, do you?" I chuckled and shook my head
"No, that's the last of them, you can check my room if you'd like, but I promise you the rest are all gone." He chuckled and squeezed my shoulder
"Good, I'll check your room just to be sure." I nod, and we watched the last of the flames die out
"They are finally gone."
"Good riddance, now I'm going to head to bed, night Pup." Siri patted my shoulder and turned to head inside
"Night Siri." He went inside. I watched the smoke rising from what was left of the rags before turning and heading inside. I locked the doors and shut all the lights off downstairs, before heading upstairs, I checked on Teddy as I passed his room, he was fast asleep in his cot, he was curled around a panther plush toy, that resembled my animagus form. He also had a wolf plush, a grim plush and a stag plush all in this cot, dotted at the corners of the cot each resembling the animagus forms of my dad James and Siri's form and the wold looking similar to Mooney. I smiled at Teddy and left the room, gently closing the door behind me, I headed into my room and shut the door, I walked over to my book shelf and pulled a book at random and sat down at the head of my bed and began to read.
I then realised that I had homework to do, I put the book back and ran downstairs to grab my school bag before running back to my bedroom. I then sat down at my desk and pulled out my notebook and text books, I started with English, starting right from the beginning of king Lear.
By the time morning came I had finished reading King Lear and taken notes for all the acts and scenes, I had also finished my maths homework, and any other homework I had. I stood from my desk and stretched, I glanced behind me and saw the sun filtering through my windows and sighed
"I'm definitely not going into school today, damn sunshine and glamour's not working properly in the sun." I stepped into the sun and felt my skin heat up slightly, thankfully the glamour stopped the redness showing so much, as long as I didn't stay in the sun too long. Without the glamour on and in the sun, my skin flared up with red veins and heated up, but didn't do much more than that, with the glamour on it dimmed the redness until it was only a faint glow and it doesn't block the heating up of my skin.
I pulled the blinds shut in my room and got changed, before heading out of my room, it was still early, but I head Teddy shuffling in his bed, so I went into his room to check on him, I quietly pushed the door open and saw him sat up in his cot, playing with his panther, wolf and grim like dog plush. I smiled and watched as he made the panther move about his bed and made little 'grr' noises. I glanced at the clock and saw that it was about 6.00am, Siri and Remy will still be asleep, Teddy then turned around to make the wolf walk, when he spotted me he perked up and grinned
"'I 'Arry." I smiled and entered the room
"Hi cub, what are you doing awake this early?" he grinned and held up his panther plush
"Grrr." I chuckled
"That's right cub, Grrr, do you want some breakfast?" he grinned and dropped the plush, he then started clapping his hands
"Yeh, yeh, yeh." I smiled and walked over to his crib and lifted him out, he then whined "Grr, grr." I reached down and grabbed the panther plush, I handed it to him and he cuddled it close. I smiled and carried him out of his room, closing the door behind me and carried him downstairs and into the kitchen. I placed him into his high chair and fastened him in before fastening the tray in place
"You sit nicely yeah? Uncle Harry gonna make you some breakfast okay?" He smiled a toothy smile at me and held up his plush
"Grr, grr." I smiled and let him play with his plush, while I turned to the fridge and pulled out the ingredients to make scrambled eggs for Teddy, but pulled out enough ingredients to make Siri and Remy breakfast as well for when they started to wake up. I pulled a blood pop out of the cupboard and shoved it in my mouth to suck on while cooked up Teddy's breakfast.
When I had finished making Teddy's eggs, I plated them up and let them cool down a little, before moving over to Teddy and pulling a chair away from the table to sit down
"Teddy, we need to put Grr down now." Teddy looked at me and frowned
"No." I sighed
"Teddy, it's time for breakfast." He shook his head clinging to the plush tighter
"No." I huffed, and set the plate onto the table
"Teddy, it's time for breakfast, you can play with Grr after."
"No, no, no." I sighed
"Does Teddy want eggs?" he perked up at the mention of eggs
"Egg?" I nodded
"Teddy wants some eggs?"
"Yeh, yeh, yeh."
"Then uncle Harry needs to hold grr." Teddy looked down at the plush before slowly handing it over
"Grr, grr." I took the toy and set it on the table
"Grr is going to sit right here, and Teddy is going to have his eggs." He smiled and clapped
"Egg, egg, egg." I smiled and set the plate on the tray in front of him. He straight away picked up the little plastic fork and began to try and scoop the egg up. I smiled and stood, I then turned and faced the sink to wash up the pots I hand used to make Teddy's breakfast, keeping an ear on Teddy.
When I had finished washing up, I heard movement upstairs, a door open, before hurried footsteps on the stairs, I caught Remus' scent before he rounded the corner into the kitchen
"Calm down Remus, he's fine." I turned to face Remus, just in time to see relief course through his body
"I saw his empty bed, and thought-"
"I wouldn't let that happen, not ever." He sighed and took a seat at the table in front of Teddy, who perked up and dropped his fork to begin clapping his hands
"Daddy! Daddy!" Remus gave him a small smile and took one of his little hands in his and squeezed gentle, before letting go
"Hi Cub, did uncle Harry make you eggs?"
"Egg, egg." Remus chuckled
"You eat your eggs then cub." Teddy smiled and picked up his fork again, Remus slumped in his seat, I frowned and pulled the chair that was besides Remus, out and round so it was placed in front of him, I then sat down on it
"Remus, he's okay, you're okay, and so is Siri, I can hear his heartbeat and his snoring, nothing is going to happen to Teddy, he is safe." Remus looked at me
"What if they find us?" Remus said
"If they do, the wards will alert us, we can even set up extra wards if it'll make you feel safe, if they do come and get anywhere close I'll smell them before we see them, and I'll hear their thoughts before they even reach us, Padfoot knows their scents and so does Mooney, you don't need to worry, I doubt they've even begun looking in this direction, never mind a town that has cutlery for a name." Remus chuckled
"You're right Cub, thank you." He then lent forward and pulled me into a hug, I hugged him back
"You don't need to thank me, it's the truth." Remus then patted my shoulder and we pulled apart, we both glanced at Teddy to see him happily content eating his Eggs, then Remus glanced at the kitchen window and looked back at me
"I'll phone the school for you, tell them you've comedown with something, do we know how long the sun is supposed to last?" I shrugged
"Edward just said it was going to be sunny today, I don't know about tomorrow." He nodded
"You okay watching Teddy, while I phone you in sick?" I nodded
"Not a problem." He nodded and stood from his seat, patting my shoulder and heading out of the kitchen and into the living room. I then heard Siri moving about upstairs, he came down a few minutes later, dressed
"Morning pup, hi Teddy." Siri said as he walked over to us
"Pad, pad, Pad." Teddy chanted before putting some more egg into his mouth. Siri chuckled, and gave my shoulder a squeeze
"Where's Remus?" he asked
"He's phoning the school." Siri frowned
"Why?" I grinned and pointed at the kitchen window, a look of realization came across his face "Ah, you know I never asked, what does the sun do to you cub?" I smiled and stood up, I walked into the direct sunlight that filtered through the window and released the glamour, I felt my skin heat up, and redness flared through my veins
"'Arry, 'Arry, 'Arry." Teddy chanted, I smiled and stepped out of the sunlight and re-applied my glamour before sitting and retaking my seat
"Wow pup I can see why you definitely wont be going to school today, even your glamour wont cover that redness." Siri said
"I know, the redness faintly filters through, so even if I did go out in the sun, I couldn't be out for long as people would start to notice." He nodded
"Does it hurt?" I shook my head
"My skin heats up a little bit, but it doesn't burn or anything if that what you're thinking." He nodded as Remus walked back into the kitchen
"Well, that's you off for a couple of days Cub." Remus said as he sat back in his seat heavily, Siri frowned
"What did you say to them?" Remus grinned at me
"I told them you had a sickness bug, they said you had to be in the clear 48 hours from your last bout of sickness." I shrugged
"Two days right, well, what's done is done."
"Remus are you alright?" Siri asked placing a hand on Remus' shoulder, Remus grasped it and looked up at him
"I am, Teddy wasn't in his crib again this morning, I panicked, but all for nothing, Harry had gotten him up and given him breakfast, but I still- "Remus cut off, taking a deep breath, stopping himself from crying
"You worried he had been taken, Remus they're not going to find us here." Siri said, kneeling down in front of his chair
"But what if they do? What if one day they do find us hiding here?" Remus demanded
"Remus, we went over this, we'll put up some more wards, and I'll know if they come, I'll smell and hear their minds before they even breach the wards. Shadow, Padfoot and Mooney all know their scents, Teddy is safe here, he's not going anywhere."
"Harry is right Remus, I'll add some more wards to the house today, from the Black Family Ward Book, that will take more than one expert Ward master to bring down alright? We're safe here, no-one but Snape and the goblins know that we are here, the goblins wont tell a soul, and everyone believes Snape hates us, so they wont ask him, and he won't tell, we're safe and Teddy is safe, no-one is going anywhere." Siri explained squeezing Remus' hands
"Alright, more wards though, promise?" Remus demanded, Siri nodded
"I'll let you watch me set them up, and you can even pick them out, we'll choose them together alright?" Siri responded, making Remus nod
"Why don't you go get a shower and get dress Remus, you might feel better." Remus looked at me and then at Teddy, I didn't even have to read his mind to know what he was thinking "Teddy is safe, I'm not going anywhere, look he's enjoying his eggs, when he's finished I'll clean him up and get him dressed, while you go get a shower, it'll do you some good." Remus glanced at me then looked at Siri
"I'll come with you, Harry will stay with Teddy, he wont let anything happen to him alright?" Remus nodded and stood up from his seat, leaving one hand in Siri grasp, he used the other to reach down and caress Teddy's head and place a kiss on the top of his head
"You be good for uncle Harry, alright cub?" Remus asked him, Teddy looked up and held up his fork
"Egg gone." Remus chuckled
"There's more on your plate cub." Teddy looked down at his plate and grinned
"Egg." I chuckled along with Siri and Remus, before the both of them left the kitchen heading back upstairs.
