Sirius's Pov
I watched out the window as Harry's car drove down the street and chuckled, only my Vampire godson could run late to school. I grinned and turned back to the counter to make myself a coffee, something I don't normally drink.
"You don't normally drink Coffee Siri." I heard Remus say, I glanced over my shoulder and saw him leant against the doorframe, with his arms folded, I turned my head back to my mug and shrugged
"I didn't sleep well, and I need the caffeine."
"Siri, I'm sorry, I just-"
"No, I get it, you don't want a relationship and you don't want to confuse Teddy, you're his father, you know what's best for him."
"Siri, that's not what I meant, you know that." I set me up down and turned to face him
"Do I? Do I really Remus?"
"Siri." He dropped his arms to his sides and stood up straight
"No, I understand you're scared about Andromeda finding us here, but she won't, I have made sure that she won't, she will never get Teddy, Remus we got together a month after we moved here, we left Harry behind to fight the war for Merlin's sake! Now since Harry is here, things are complicated? I don't get it Remus, I just don't."
"I didn't want Teddy not to know his mother, yes it was a one-time thing between us, but he should be able to know his mother."
"And he will Remus! Teddy calling me Papa isn't going to change that fact that you'll tell him all about his mother, as will I and so will Harry, but shutting me out is going to be just as confusing to Teddy."
"This isn't just about Teddy Siri; Harry didn't know about us either."
"Harry knew, don't insult his intelligence, he's just as confused as to why you won't let Teddy call me Papa."
"You spoke to Harry about this?"
"He asked me, and I told him the truth Remus." He sighed and I turned back to face my cup, I picked it up and took a large gulp
"Siri, I don't want this to change anything between us." I scoffed, still holding my cup near my mouth
"It already has Remus."
"But I don't want it to." I turned to face him
"You made me sleep in the guest room last night Remus, you pushed me out of my bed, because you didn't like what I said yesterday." I finished off my coffee and turned to face the sink, I rinsed out my cup and set it on the side
"Because I didn't think it was right, I didn't believe you hadn't told Teddy to call you that." I turned to face him
"Why would I have told him to call me papa? I wouldn't do that, because as you said yesterday, he might be from the house of Black but he's not my son, you made things quite clear Remus." I moved past him, out of the kitchen and headed upstairs
"Siri, we need to talk about this." Remus said as he followed me upstairs and into our bedroom, I huffed and pulled my trunk out from the closet "What are you doing?"
"I'm packing, what does it look like?"
"Why?" I pulled clothes out of our closet and shoved them into my trunk
"Because I'm going to London, to oversee the trail of the murder of our godson, or is he just my godson? I just don't know anymore." I then got out robes and laid them on the top of the rest of the clothes and shut my trunk
"Harry is our Godson, we were both appointed that role by James and Lily, why are you packing? You're not meant to leave for another few days." I pulled out my wand and then shrunk my trunk, I then picked it up and placed it in my pocket and returned my wand to the holster on my arm
"I've decided to leave early, I think we need some space, and a few doors isn't going to be enough."
"But Siri, we need to talk about this."
"I've tried to talk to you Remus, yesterday, and you wouldn't listen, besides I have business in London." I walked past him and back downstairs and headed to the Floo
"Siri, please don't leave." Remus said from behind me, I sighed
"I'll be back soon." I picked up a handful of Floo powder and threw it into the Floo "Gringotts Bank, London, England!" I then stepped into the green flames
Hadrian's PoV
Edward held the door to the cafeteria open for me to walk through before following me through, letting the door swing shut behind him, we then joined the cue for lunch
"Anything in particular you want on your tray?" Edward asked, his head close to my ear, I shrugged
"Anything is fine, it's not like we're going to eat it." He chuckled and stood up straight "I'll go get a table, before they're all taken."
"Good idea." I grinned and left the cue and headed over to a table at the back of the room and sat down. I set my bag down on the floor before I caught the thoughts of a nearby table
(What does he think he's doing?)
(That's Bella's boyfriend, how dare he try and steal him)
(Ignore them Hadrian) I glanced over my shoulder at Edward, who had his eyes locked on mine the moment I turned to look at him (you're not stealing anyone, I ended it with Bella, you're my mate, I wouldn't have it any other way) he smiled at me and I turned my head away to smile too, my phone then buzzed in my pocket. I frowned and pulled it out, I found two messages one from Remus and one from Sirius, I huffed and opened Siri's first
/Hey Pup, I won't be home when you finish school, Remus and I got into an argument, so I've come to London early, so we can have a little bit of space, I'm sure he'll tell you as well, but it was over yesterday's disagreement, I love you pup, I'll see you when I get back/ I sighed and shook my head slightly, before sending him a quick response
-Okay Siri, I understand, give them hell in London! ;-) I'll talk to you later, love you- I then opened up Remus' text
/Hey Cub, I just wanted to let you know that I've received a response from the American Ministry, they're going to send a representative tonight so we can discuss everything…also, Siri won't be here when you get home from school, I'm not sure whether or not he will tell you, but we had an argument this morning after you left for school… I upset him with some of the things I said to him yesterday, and I feel I may have made bigger wounds this morning, he left early to go to London, wanting to create some space between the two of us, anyway I'll tell you more at home tonight, love you Cub x / I huffed and shook my head again before sending him a reply
-Okay Remus, thank you for letting, me know, you can tell me more about the argument tonight after I finished school, love you x- I then put my phone away, back in my pocket as Edward sat down next to me with two trays
"Anything wrong?" He asked, looking concerned
"Family drama, hopefully they're old enough to resolve it themselves." He chuckled and then groaned quietly
"Incoming." I frowned and glanced over his shoulder to see the group from my first day heading over to our table
"Can I run away? You know super fast? So, they won't see me?" Edward chuckled
(I don't think that's the best way to keep your cover, they'll notice you missing and they're looking right at you) I huffed
{I still thinks it's a good idea} he gave me a shocked look
(I didn't know you could do that) I smirked at him
{There's a lot about me that you don't know} he chuckled and ducked his head as the group arrived at the table
"Can I help you?"
"Stop stealing Bella's boyfriend you creep!" A female yelled, I frowned
"Who are you again?" I heard Edward chuckle under his breath as the girl growled
"I'm Bella's best friend Jessica, and your trying to steal her boyfriend!" She yelled again, drawing the attention from students across the room, I frowned but Edward lifted his head
"Hadrian isn't stealing anyone, I broke up with Isabella before she want to stay with her mother, besides it's not up to you or to her, who I chose to spend my time with, so back off." Edward said coldly
"You didn't break up with her, Bella would have told me." Jessica demanded
"I broke up with her at the airport, so she wouldn't have to face her peers and so she could come up with some excuse to turn the story round and say she broke up with me." Edward responded
"Well, you owe Jessica an apology!" The male of the group shouted, I frowned
"For what?"
"The way you brushed her off on your first day here, you were really rude, and she deserves an apology." He responded, I frowned as Edward shifted next to me
"Well, in that case, you all owe me an apology."
"How do you come to that conclusion?" the Male huffed, I shrugged
"You all invaded my personal space when I told you no, then you proceeded to badger me, so apologise to me and I'll apologise to you, sounds fair doesn't it?"
"Very fair indeed." Edward agreed, but Jessica and the Male of the group look down right furious
"We were trying to be friendly!" Jessica yelled
"Did you ever think I didn't want to be your friend? Or that I didn't want to get hounded on my first day when I was settling in and used to this place?"
"Well, no." The Male responded
"But were not going to apologise for being a good friend." Jessica added, I chuckled and then gave her a cold look
"You're not my friend, I've had friend like your little group before, I don't want any part of it, so take your trash and leave me alone."
"How dare you!" the Male yelled reaching out for me, but Edward intercepted, he stood and grabbed the males arm and shoved him back
"Back off Newton, final warning, you won't like me when I'm angry." Edward growled, making Newton? Step back and look at Jessica, he then grabbed her arm and dragged her away from the table. Edward then sat down and shoved his tray away from himself
"Not hungry anymore?" he shot me a semi dark look "Hey, I'm just trying to lighten the mood." He then relented and grinned at me
"You really know how to make enemies don't you?" I shrugged
"Trouble always seems to find me." Edward gained a thoughtful look
"So, trouble finds you and fate hates you, that seems like a bad combination." He grinned; I nodded a mocking troubled look on my face
"Oh, it is, such an awful combination, will you protect me?" He chuckled and bumped his shoulder with mine
"I think you're more than able to protect yourself." I shrugged
"Very true, but you can come along for the ride I'd you want?" He gave me a hopeful look
"Really? Even after-"
"Edward, there are just somethings that can't be helped, but I trust you, your ex sounds delusional, and that's dangerous in itself, l want to be with you, but not right away." He drooped a little
{At least not in public anyway} He then grinned
(And you'll tell me your gifts?)
{Gifts?}
(Vampire gifts)
{Oh, of course, but not here and probably not today.} He nodded
"Would you like to meet up after school today?" Edward asked with a smile on his face, I sighed and shook my head
"I can't today, I have some guests coming over to the house, Remus wants me there to help with Teddy." He gave me a slow nod
"I understand that, can I at least have your phone number? So, we can keep in touch?" I grinned and pulled my phone back out
"Sure." We quickly exchanged numbers and shoved our phones away as shadows fell over us, we looked up and saw Rosalie and a blonde male from Edwards family.
"This isn't our table Edward." Rosalie said, sticking her nose in the air, a move that reminded me so much of the younger Draco, I sighed remising about the good old rivals "What are you smiling at?" She demanded
"He's amused." The blonde male said
"What could he possibly be amused about?" Rosalie demanded; the blonde male shrugged
"I don't know I'm not the mind reader." He responded
"Also, I'm sat right here, why not just ask me?" she huffed and folded her arms
"Why are you amused then?" Edward asked, I grinned
"Because your sister's attitude reminds me of an old friend." He frowned, so did Rosalie
"What friend?" She demanded, I shrugged
"It doesn't matter, he's not here."
{Besides, you don't need to worry about competition, we were rivals for five years of schooling, and became friends just in the past two years, never any romantic feelings} I glanced at Edward who let out a silent breath
(Was I that transparent?) I gave him a smile
{Your frown gave you away, besides I'm good at spotting little details}
"Are you two having a conversation in your mind?" The blonde male asked, I looked up at him and smirked
"Sorry, do you feel excluded?" He smirked back
"I like you." He held his hand out to me "Call me Jasper." I took hold of his hand and shook it
"The names Hadrian."
"I don't think we have any classes together." Jasper said, I shrugged
"I'm not sure."
"You don't, at least not yet, you've not had history yet." Edward commented, I glanced at him
"You've looked at my schedule?" He shrugged "When did you have time to do that?"
"I wanted to see which classes we had together, I looked when I first visited you house, well, while you were in the shower." I grinned
"So, you mean the second visit you had to my house then?" He shrugged
"Does it matter?" I shrugged as the bell went "What do you have now?" I gave him a mock shocked look
"You mean you don't know already?" He rolled his eyes "I have a free period, that I am going to spend in the library."
"I have Math and then we have gym together, so I'll meet you outside the library." I nod and he heads off to his lesson, followed by the rest of his family who give me some sort of fair-wells before heading out of the cafeteria.
—End of the Day—
