Chapter 6

Matthew and Gianna were running around in front of their house with their parents watching them. The two-year-olds eventually started to fight each other playfully. Antonio and Mia knew that eventually those two would become power rangers, but for now it was important to keep them safe.

They had just recently gotten a letter from Mentor Ji who was updating them on the lives of the others. As it turns out, Kevin and Lauren got married a year after they did, Mike and Emily finally tied the knot a year after that, and Jayden married a girl that he met sometime after they defeated Master Xandred. They also learned that Kevin and Lauren had their first child shortly after Matthew and Gianna were born and their second child was born a couple months ago. Mike and Emily also just had twins.

They wished that they could've been there for everything that was going on with their friends' lives, but making sure Master Xandred doesn't come back is more important.

"I win!" Gianna said as she pinned her brother to the ground.

"No fair!" Matthew protested.

"Yes it is!"

"No!"

"Yes!"

"Kids! You don't need to argue about who won," Antonio said as he went over to the kids. Mia just watched. She loved her family and wished so bad that she could share it with her friends, but that wasn't an option right now. Maybe someday the other rangers could know about how she and Antonio got married and had kids, but not right now. Not until they knew that Master Xandred wouldn't be able to come back. Maybe she should start looking for a way to destroy the rock. Why didn't she think of that before? That's what they should do. Mia made a mental note to start looking for a way to destroy the rock after the kids go to bed.

Present

Gianna was examining a book in the Shiba House that she grabbed from her family's house before they left. She had noticed her mother taking notes in it in the past and she had a feeling that there might be something important in it.

"Did you find anything?" Adrian asked as he walked up to her.

"Not yet," she answered. "I had seen my mom take notes in here while it looked like she was researching something."

"Maybe she didn't find anything."

Gianna turned to the next page and examined it. "Or maybe she did."

Adrian moved to look over Gianna's shoulder. "Woah."

"She found a way to destroy the rock!"

"We need to show this to everyone."

Gianna and Adrian rushed to the training yard where everyone was. They all turned their heads towards the two when they ran out.

"Is everything alright?" Lauren asked her son and Gianna.

"We...or she found something," Adrian said.

"As it turns out, my mom managed to find a way to destroy the rock," Gianna said.

"How do you know?" Matthew asked. He was standing next to Rosie and Gianna made a mental note to ask about that later because the two seemed to be getting close during this. It might not have been long, but it seemed like there was something between them.

"I remembered that mom was researching something a lot and taking notes on it," Gianna started explaining. "I saw her working on it a lot, but she never told me what it was about. I grabbed her book before we left our house and it looks like she figured out how to destroy the rock about a week ago. I bet Octoroo came back now because mom and dad were going to destroy and with it, destroy the chance of Master Xandred coming back."

"That makes sense," Kevin said. "With how intelligent Octoroo is, he wouldn't just disappear for 17 years without a reason. He wasn't sure where Antonio and Mia hid it and he didn't want the rest of the team to get involved."

"So when he found out that they were going to destroy it, he decided to strike to make sure they didn't get a chance to destroy his master plan for good," Mike continued.

"And he figured that now the next generation would become rangers and that they would be less experienced and not be able to defeat Master Xandred," Emily said.

"How does it say we can destroy this rock?" Jayden asked.

"The rock has shown reactions when exposed to pure water," Gianna started reading. "We noticed that when we exposed part of the rock to pure water, it makes it easier to break off. If we can expose it to enough pure water, we should be able to smash the rock and destroy it forever. The problem out here is that the water is too polluted to be used. We're planning on going to Spring Valley next week while the kids are in school because the water there is a lot purer than the stream that's close to our house. There we should be able to destroy the rock for good and finally tell our kids about their destiny to become samurai rangers." She looked over to her brother. "They were going to tell us after they could destroy that stupid rock!"

"They were just trying to protect us," Matthew said.

"Well, now we need to find your parents and destroy this rock once and for all," Juliet said. "We're the samurai rangers now and we won't let Octoroo win. Let's show him that we might not be as experienced as our parents, but that doesn't mean that we aren't as tough as them."

"This mission is dangerous," Jayden said. "I think the best course of action would be for you guys to give us your samuraizers and we can take care of this." The young rangers all looked at each other, but eventually complied with their parents. All of the kids gave their parents their samuraizers, except the two whose parents were not there. "This includes you two."

"No," Gianna said. "Our parents gave them to us when they told us to leave. We can't give them up!"

"I think they wanted us to help save them and be able to work with our new team," Matthew said. "They're our parents and being samurai rangers is our destiny and we're going to do it with or without your help! Gianna, now!"

Gianna swiftly flipped behind the older samurai rangers and took the rock that was set down behind them. The older samurai rangers turned around and saw that Gianna had the Nighlok rock.

"We don't want to fight you guys," Lauren tried to reason. "We just want to get your parents back and make sure Master Xandred never returns."

"By trying to take away our powers," Gianna said.

"Just put that down and we can talk about the best course of action," Kevin said.

"Are you going to give the others back their samuraizers?" Silence. "That's what I thought." Gianna quickly ran back to her brother.

"We'll handle this ourselves," Matthew said as he started to run out with his sister.

"STOP!" Jayden yelled as he charged at them.

Adrian acted without thinking and grabbed one of the training swords and ran to block Jayden's path. He held it up to block an attack that Jayden had been attempting to stop the older twins.

"Adrian?!" Gianna said in surprise as she turned back and saw that her secret boyfriend had helped them.

"Go!" Adrian told them.

The two nodded and ran out.

The other younger samurai rangers ran and took their samuraizers from their parents who were shocked that their kids turned against them. "Here you go, bro," Juliet said as she gave Adrian his samuraizer.

"Thanks, sis," Adrian said as he opened his samuraizer.

"Don't do this, Adrian," Kevin said.

"Sorry, dad, but I have to." He used his samuraizer to make a stream of water hit the older samurai rangers and while they were distracted, the younger samurai rangers ran out.

As they ran out, Mentor Ji walked in with groceries. He figured that there were so many people there currently and they didn't have much food left in the Shiba house, so might as well. As he entered, he was confused why the younger samurai rangers had ran out and the older samurai rangers were on the ground and soaking wet. "What happened?"

A/N: I hope you enjoyed!
