We're back people. Now I know that you guys read the first episode and thought, 'this is just the same as the original' but don't worry. We're just winding up the rock for the real splash. Trust us, this is going to be something new. Heck, even some of the big stuff is gonna change. Just wait and see. Also we hope you enjoy the introduction of two new characters, Rory and Sugar, and we hope we represented them correctly.
Out in the school hallway, we find that Kitty and Ryder are having a conversation as Ryder retrieves books from his locker. Harmony is at her own locker a few feet from them, facing away. She angles a small mirror in her hand to watch the exchange behind her."Look around you Ryder, everyone is saying it. The Glee Club is full of losers who haven't one anything since 1993 after that creep took over." Kitty said, trying to convince her boyfriend to quit.
"Yeah, I know. But now there's a new coach. Mr. Schue." Ryder defended still gathering his books..
"That butt-chined lunatic can barely speak Spanish, let alone manage a Glee Club."
He turns to face her. "Kitty, how long have we known each other?"
Kitty stops to think for a second, calculating the number of years. "I'd say about 10 years?"
"Yeah. Look you know me, and you know I don't just jump in on stuff like this without a reason." He caresses her left cheek. "I really need you to trust me on this. I just don't know why you're making such a big deal out of it."
She pulls his hand off her. "Because I don't want my boyfriend catching losers decease and dying of lack of social interaction. And besides, look what it does to both of us. The Cheerios keep trying to get me to drop you and Blaine."
"You don't need to listen to them. You're the captain. You can get them in line."
"Like you did when the football kids were shoving kids in lockers?"
"Like I did when I helped out Betty with those football kids." He said, closing his locker and turning to class. "I gotta go to class. Okay? Just relax. Everything's gonna work out. We'll talk about this later." He kisses her in the cheek and walks away.
Kitty is about to walk to her class when she turns Harmony who was clearly eavesdropping. "Okay, what's your deal Frenchie?"
Harmony turns to her confused. "Frenchie? And I don't know what you're talking about."
"One, I called you Frenchie because you're always wearing berets and I assumed you were hiding something embarrassing with your hair. Two, I know a liar when I see one, and you couldn't be more obvious. So here's what's gonna happen Frenchie, you are gonna get your paws off my man. Go find your own in beauty school."
"Look, Ryder's cute, I admit it. And if you two weren't dating I would totally date him, but unlike you, I have a moral compass. For whatever reason he chose you, and I'll try to respect his choices. You could learn a thing or two from him." She said as she turns away but gets hit by a slushy almost immediately by Football players David Karofsky and Azimio Adams. Kitty laughed at it from her place, but her smile turned into a frown when Ryder came back.
"Oh my gosh. I am so sorry. Those guys are idiots." Ryder apologizes.
"It's fine. I have a spare in my backpack anyway."
"Doesn't make it right. Here" He removes his jersey and gives it to her. "It'll warm you up."
"Oh! Thanks Ryder. Thats... that's so sweet." She grins widely.
"No problem." He then walks away without noticing Kitty's piercing glare. That didn't bother Harmony though as she held on to the jersey tight feeling all warm and fuzzy inside.
Later that day The Glee Club is singing and dancing to "Le Freak" by Chic. Will critiques them as they perform. They then get interrupted by Betty halfway through.
"Okay, hold on. Stop the music." Brad stops playing his piano. "Am I the only one in this room who thinks that this song is hella ridiculous?"
Wade sighs in relief. "Thank you. I didn't want to be the first one to say it, but this song is terrible."
"No, no, no. It's not the song. You guys just need to get into it." Will defended.
Marley was slightly annoyed. "No, it's the song. I like old fashion songs as much as the next girl but disco? It's just wrong."
"We need modern music, Mr. Schue." Jake agreed, but Will did not relent.
"I'm sorry, guys. We don't have time to discuss this. We're doing this song this Friday at the pep assembly."
"In front of the whole school?" Marley was horrified.
"Exactly." Will mistaking her outburst for excitement, replies.
"Mr. Schue we can't. I may listen to Boogie Shoes every now and then, but one here even likes Disco." Wade said, not happy with this turn of events.
"Uhh, we do." Blaine said, gesturing to him and Joe.
"Uhh, what now?"
"It's true. He invited me to his house the other day and we watched Saturday Night Fever together." Joe said with a grin.
Flashback:
The duo had been hanging out, watching SNF when they had gotten to Blaine's favorite song, Night Fever. He even got Joe to sing along the best he could.
Joe:
And that sweet city woman, she moves through the light
Controlling my mind and my soul
Blaine:
When you reach out for me, yeah, and the feelin' is right
Gonna get
Blaine and Joe:
Night fever, night fever: we know how to do it
Present:
Betty cuts the flashback short. "Okay, homeschool I get. He doesn't know any better. It's not his fault. But Blaine?! You think you know somebody." Blaine just shrugs.
"Guys. I can't express to you how important this assembly is." Will said with Ryder appearing terrified. Harmony looks at him with concern. The rest of the club are visibly upset. "We need recruits. There are seven of you. We need twelve to qualify for regionals. We have no choice or the club is over. I know you guys don't like this song, but we took nationals back in '93 with "Freak Out." It's a crowd-pleaser. Trust me. From the top."
"93?" Ryder asks hoping his ears were clogged.
"Yep." Will didn't seem to notice.
"Yep. I'm dead." Harmony continues to look concerned as the rest of the club move away.
Betty rolls down the school halls feeling completely disappointed
Voice Over:
These people have no idea what I have to go through. Not only does this school only have one ramp entrance, but everything has been crap. You know, I was a big deal in my old middle school. Head Cheerleader, hottest girl in my school, and no one wanted to mess with me. But here I am, in a new school where everyone messes with me, and people don't know me, and my only friends are in Glee Club. She stops to look longingly at the Cheerios and their outfits.Oh do I long for that all to come back, but unfortunately it's invite only. I just wish that there were people who understood what I was going through. You know? The loneliness.
She continues to roll but doesn't see where she's going and accidentally hits a girl. She's medium height, with brown hair, brown eyes, and looks about her age. She is also wearing a red jacket and jeans with a white shirt. "Oh, sorry about that." She said.
"No, it's fine. I wasn't looking where I was going."
"Something wrong?"
"Nah, just thinking about the good old days, wishing I wasn't so alone."
"Ah, I get that."
Betty raises her eyebrow. "You do?"
"Well not personally, but I know someone who talks about it a lot. He's an exchange student, and he's staying at my place. Actually, I'm looking for him. He tends to get lost."
"Oh, good to hear." Knowing that someone else is like her felt nice to hear.
The girl smiles at her and holds out her hand. "I'm Sugar. Sugar Motta."
Betty accepts. "Betty Pillsbury. I'm staying with my aunt."
"Cool. Well, it was nice meeting you but I still need to find-" Sugar was interrupted by a slam sound. They decided to see what's happened, and they find a tall, short-haired, pale-skinned boy with blue eyes and brown hair wearing a green jacket, blue jeans, and white shirt, being lifted at a locker by Karofsky and two other football players.
"Say U2's overrated." He demands but gets a shake of the head from the kid. "Say it!"
"Never!" The apparently Irish boy said. This is possibly the boy that Sugar was talking about.
"Rory!" Sugar said fearing for her friend's safety. "Let him go!"
"Or what, Rojo Caliente? You gonna ban pizza?" He scoffed.
"Hey!" Betty yelled, drawing everyone's attention. "I'm giving you one warning. Let. Him. Go." She said with a glare.
Karofsky chuckle along with his teammates. "How about I give you a warning. Walk away. Oh wait." the trio laughs at her, crossing a very harsh line. She then proceeds to wheel quickly towards him and shoves one of the foot ball players into another causing them to fall. She then rotates around, lifts her chair and uses the large right wheel to trip Karofsky forward, and slams the same wheel onto his hand, causing him to groan in pain.
"Now here's what's gonna happen. You and your friends are going to apologize to my friends here, and then you are going to leave the three of us alone. Got it?" She receives a scared nod from him and the three football players get up and apologize to Rory and Sugar then proceed to leave.
"This isn't over." Karofsky's last words were whispered.
"Oh my gosh that was amazing." Sugar congratulated Betty, proud of her show of strength and principals.
The Irish boy recovered from his shock to thank her. "Thank you so much. I am forever in your debt."
"Uhh, no problem. I was just doing what anyone would do." Betty waved her hand.
"No you didn't. Before you even got here three people past by. They didn't even try to help."
"Okay, I did what anyone good would do. I'm Betty." She holds out her hand which is quickly shaken.
"Rory Flanagan. I'm from Ireland."
"I noticed from the accent."
"Rory, you need to remember not to lose me. You keep getting lost." Sugar scolds.
"Sorry, everything looks the same." Rory defends.
"That's why you stay behind me. You know what, from now on you are going to be with me at all times." She grabs his shoulders.
"We have separate classes." Rory furrows his eyebrows.
"You'll switch."
"So this is the guy you told me about?" Betty brought herself back to the conversation.
"Yep this is Rory. He's staying at my house for his student Visa." Sugar explains.
"Well nice to meet you Rory, and you Sugar." Betty said as she wheels backwards, as she leaves for class, but was then stopped by the hand of Sugar.
"Wait! You want to hang out later? You know maybe the three of us can hang out? My place?" She offers, and Rory nods along with it.
Betty thought about it for a moment. She was surprised by the forwardness of the duo. Normally she wouldn't decide to just go to the house of two people she just met, but when she saved Rory earlier, it was the first time in a while that she felt like herself again. So she decided to throw caution to the wind.
"Yeah sure." She said before wheeling away.
"Okay, I'll ask for your number later so I can text you the address! Bye."
"Nice meeting you!"
Blaine was showing Joe some dance moves, especially the boy band spin, which he really liked. Harmony is sitting behind Ryder in the stands, looking at him with longing. But before she could approach him, Will enters holding some lyric sheets.
"All right, guys. How about a little Kanye?" Will begins to hand out sheet music. Several students gasp in excitement.
"For the assembly?" Marley asked, hopeful.
"No. We won't be ready in time. We're still doing disco. But we can fold this into our repertoire and it'll be awesome at regionals. Communication is the foundation of any successful music group. If we're gonna succeed, we need to communicate. You guys said you wanted modern music, I listened. Ryder, you're gonna take the solo."
Ryder looks at Will. "Uhh sorry Mr. Schue. This is a little out of my league. I don't really rap much." He said, refusing.
"No problem. I'll walk you through it." Will said removing his jacket and getting some 'oohs' from his students.
"Enchanté" Wade compliments.
"Hey, Wade. You know this?" Will asked.
"Oh, I got this." He assures as he takes a breath to sing.
Wade:

New Directions:
We want a pre-nup, yeah!
The musical number comes to an end, and everyone laughs.
"All right, just like that. Ready?"
Later, Harmony wasn't sure about what to do with her feelings so she decided to go to Ms. Emma Pillsbury.
"So You Want To Date A Two-timing Hoe:"
Emma clears throat "Harmony, you really need to think about this. Cheating with someone can be really bad for you."
Harmony sighs. "I'm not gonna cheat with Ryder. I'm not even sure if I should act on my feelings. I subtly brought it up when we went to Carmel but he was with Kitty."
"Okay. And how does that make you feel?"
"Disappointed mostly. Especially since Kitty isn't supportive of him joining Glee Club, which makes sense since Ryder's the football captain and Glee Club is at the bottom. I just wish I was her. She has popularity, friends, and she's dating the sweetest guy I know. I mean, Ms. Pillsbury, have you ever liked someone so much you just want to just lock yourself in your room, turn on sad music and cry?"
"No." Emma's eyes flicker to Will in the hallway.
Last night at Emma's car
Emma sits in her car, crying. It is raining heavily outside. "All By Myself" by Eric Carmen plays on the radio, and Emma sings along.
Emma cries. "All By My... By myself. I'm by myself. Don't wanna be!"
"Uh, but a boy crush, huh? I know about that. I mean, not now. It takes me back in the- Like a long time ago, I knew about that. You know what? You need to remember, Harmony, to protect your heart. I don't care who he is. If he doesn't like you for the way you are, if he's- You know, he's married with a baby on the way- That's not worth the heartache. You don't want to compromise yourself for that. Um-" Emma clears her throat. "Have you just tried telling him how you feel?"
"We talk every now and then but spends most of his time with Kitty." Harmony told her.
"I see. Um- okay. Well, here's what I think. Common interests are the key to romance. All right? So find out what he likes. Then he'll see you in a positive way and maybe you'll end up doing something that you never would have expected."
Harmony nods and smiles hopefully.
Later that day, Harmony and Ryder are sitting in front of Figgins' desk. Sue and Will stand on opposite sides of the room.
"Would you like to tell Principal Figgins and Mr. Schuester what I caught you two doing?" Sue asked.
"Look, it wasn't that big of a deal."
"You watch your tone, young man. You think just because you're a jock you can do whatever you want, well guess what, being a jock just makes you stupid. It's a scientific fact.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa." Will turns to Harmony "All right, tell me what happened, Harmony."
Harmony began explaining. "Ryder was worried about having to perform a solo at the pep assembly in front of his teammates. I decided to talk to him about it."
"And we came up with a plan." Ryder added. "We decided to make some Glee Club flyers to represent how it can be kinda cool, by adding pictures of popstars.
"That way, we wouldn't have to have an assembly. All we did was use the Cheerios' copy machine to print them. I don't see the big deal."
"The big deal is that copy machine is for Cheerios use only. Paid for by alumni donations. I can't begin to fathom the damage you'd have done to the program had you broken it." Sue said upset.
"Hold on a second, Sue-" Will tried to stop her but she interrupted.
"I resent being told to hold on to anything, William. I Will not be treated like a second-class citizen because of my gender. There is a very clear bureaucracy when it comes to photocopies, and you seem to think that these procedures don't apply to your students." She turns to Figgins. "It is my strong recommendation that both these students be hobbled."
"How many copies did you guys make?"
"Seventeen." She said, still angry.
"Okay. And how much does a photocopy cost?"
"Four and a half cents." Figgins answered.
"How about they just pay for the copies?"
"I like this compromise. Children, pay Ms. Sylvester, and we'll let you off with a warning. And Sue, I'm sorry, but I'll have to ask you to personally clean the congealed protein shake off the photocopy room floor."
"That's why we have janitors."
"Sue, we're in a recession, and concessions must be made. I've laid off half the janitorial staff. We all need to lend a hand."
Ryder raises his hand. "Uhh, can we go now?" Figgins told them to pay first.
"Lady Justice wept today." Sue added.
Sue extends her hand to Ryder and Harmony in expectation of payment.
"I'm sorry about that Mr. Schue." Ryder apologizes.
"We just wanted to help out." Harmony defends.
"You know what, guys? I don't want to hear it." Will ignores.
"I'm sorry, but singing disco isn't gonna work. There are so many other forms of music that'll work. Maybe even country. We don't want to do this."
"I have news for you, Harmony. Sometimes you have to do things you don't want to do. We're doing the assembly and you're not putting up those flyers. Everybody loves disco!" Will announces before leaving, not knowing just how wrong he is.
"You tried your best. Me and Jake can take it. It'll be fine." Ryder tried to assure.
Harmony sighs. "Maybe, but you shouldn't have to deal with it."
"You're right. But we do."
"Okay, but hey, do you want to practice after the assembly? Maybe some vocal training?"
"Uhh, yeah sure. I'm free."
Harmony smiles. "Awesome." She gives him a peck on the cheek before walking away, leaving him to his shock. He then walks away without noticing Kitty staring from a distance.
Betty decided that she would go to Sugar's place and see her and Rory. She got a ride from Emma to Sugar's address and was shocked to see how big it was. There was a freaking pool at the front. She then found Sugar and Rory waiting for her.
"Hey girl. Glad you could make it." Sugar gives her a tight hug which is returned.
"Hey Sugar. Rory." Betty greeted.
"It's grand to see you again." Rory replied.
"Uhh, grand?"
"It means great. It's Irish slang."
"Ah, got it." Betty nodded.
"Shall we?" Sugar asked signaling to the house.
"We shall." They walked/rolled their way into the house.
Betty had told them a little bit about how she was before moving to Lima while they took turns playing ping pong.. They were pretty impressed. She was the Kitty Wilde of her old school and yet, at this moment, she seemed so normal so... human. If she were Kitty, she would never want to hang out with them.
"Wait, so if you were a Cheerleader, than why hasn't coach Sue let you in the Cheerios yet?" Sugar asked, passing the ball to Betty, not sure why someone so talented would be rejected the chance.
"I asked about that. It turns out she thinks that if someone in a wheelchair is a cheerleader it will only do the opposite of cheering people up." Betty answered disappointed, but it didn't stop her from hitting the ball back.
"That's boloney. You're amazing." Rory said.
"Thanks Rory."
"You know, I thought about the Cheerios, but I definitely wouldn't last if I could join." Sugar commented.
"Why not?"
"Because of the uniforms. I would have to wear that everyday at school. The fashionista in me wouldn't bare it." Betty laughs at that. Sugar has a giant wardrobe of different styles of clothing. That way everyday she can walk into class with a completely different look. Sometimes she's in leather, sometimes she's in fur coats, sometimes, she's just in casual wear like she is right now. She is a very unique person to be honest. And apparently, she designed a few of those outfits herself. She could be in Vogue if she wanted to.
"Don't worry guys, I'm fine in Glee Club."
"You're in the Glee Club?" Sugar asked, shocked.
"Yeah, I know. It's lame but-"
"Nononono. We love music. Rory and I sing like angels."
"What? Really? Will you guys show me?"
Rory smirks. "Definitely. I'll go first if you don't mind Sugar."
"Of course Rors." Sugar said as she stops the game and walks to the piano and starts playing. Rory shakes away any nerves he has and begins singing. He imagined himself on a stage surrounded by a jazz band playing for him as he sings.
Rory:
It's not that easy bein' green
Having to spend each day as a color of the leaves
When I think it could be nicer being red or yellow or gold
Or something much more colorful like that
It's not that easy bein' green
It seems you blend in with so many other ordinary things
And people tend to pass you over
Cause you're not standing out like flashy sparkles in the water
Or stars in the sky
But green's the color of spring
And green can be cool and friendly-like
And green can be big like an ocean
Or important like a mountain
Or tall like a tree
When green is all there is to be
It could make you wonder why
But, why wonder why?
Wonder, I'm green and it'll do fine
It's beautiful and I think it's what I wanna be
Betty and Sugar clap for the Irish boy. "Oh my gosh Rory. That was amazing." Betty congratulated.
"Heh, thanks guys." Rory thanked.
"Okay then, I guess it's my turn." Sugar announced as she stands up to take Rory's place.
"Alright." Betty rolls to the piano, pushes the bench away, and starts playing Big Spender.
Sugar smirked for a moment before she started... 'singing'
Sugar:
The minute you walked in the joint
I could tell you were a man of distinction
A real big spender
Good looking
So refined
Wouldn't you like to know
What's going on in my mind?
Hey, big spender
Spend a little time with me!
Yeah
It was horrible. She was completely tone-deaf, her breath control was nowhere, and it sounded like shrieking in some parts. She clearly can't sing. "So guys, what did you think? Now be honest."
"Uhh... it sure was... something." Betty tried to put it gently. "But I'm sure that you guys are better dancers."
"Oh I can't dance. I can't walk in a straight line, let alone dance." Rory said.
"Well, I have been told I'm pretty good." Sugar claimed. For some reason they were a little skeptical.
"Oh! Okay let's see it." Betty asked and had her fingers crossed.
"Sure." She got a boombox and played the middle of Somebody Who Loves Me by Whitney Houston.I don't know much about how to describe dance moves, so just look at this. watch?v=tVVcDvMxDfo _channel=Glee10Anos 1:40-2:09. She used Rory as a dance partner at times.
Sugar and Rory ended their performance with a hug. She was actually surprisingly good. Like, better than almost everything Betty's seen in Glee Club thus far. She could give Jake a run for his money. Maybe she could get them to join. "Wow. You know that was amazing. You two are really good. You know, there are still four spots open in Glee Club. Maybe you could come to the assembly tomorrow and see if you're interested."
The duo looked at each other for a moment before smiling at the proposal. "We'll be there." Sugar told her.
The next day, Harmony had gathered the club to the gymnasium. She had an idea for the assembly and since it was going to be at that place, it seemed like the perfect place to rehearse. Harmony stands before the glee club and taps her gavel to a sound board.
"I officially call this meeting of Glee Club in session."
"But Mr. Schuester isn't here." Betty said.
Harmony waves it off. "He won't be coming today. I paid a freshman to ask him for help with irregular verbs. Besides what I'm about to suggest wouldn't sit well with him."
"Wait, so what's going on?" Wade asks
"It's about the assembly."
Betty scoffs. "Does it involve us singing something other than disco. Because the moment we do that song, Avatar and Burt Reynolds are going to change their minds about it."
"We will do no such thing." Blaine high fives Joe.
"Guys focus. I have an idea for the assembly that will work out a lot better than disco." She pulls out lyric sheets for everyone and passes them along. "Now, I picked out a classic nineties song that will give us exactly what we need to wow the audience."
"Push it by Salt-n-Pepa?" Joe furrows his eyebrows at the page title.
"Isn't this a sex song?" Blaine questions Harmony's choice.
"Exactly. Everyone at school is so overcome by hormones that if we did this everyone would get excited." Harmony explained.
"Gross." Betty commented.
"Hell, even the celibacy club is full of people who've broken there oath. Well, except for Kitty and Ryder."
"Wait really?" Betty turned to Ryder.
"She's super Christian, and I'm not done practicing." Ryder explained confusing them. "I've been practicing on an apple pie. It's not weird, it's just how I learn things. I learn the basics and practice over and over again until I get it."
"Uhh, okay." Jake laughs.
"Come on man, don't make this awkward."
"We're getting off topic guys." Harmony reminds them.
"Do we even need to do this? I've been talking to a couple people and they're pretty talented." Betty added.
"Can they sing?" Wade asked.
"Well... one of them can. The other is a good dancer though. Jake could use a dance partner." Jake shrugged in agreement.
"I'm not very comfortable with being... sexy." Marley tells them.
"Girl I saw you in that Posh Spice outfit. Don't joke around." Wade said earning some chuckles from the group.
"Okay first of all, you're one to talk Scary Spice, and two, that was private, I'm not comfortable dressing up like that to perform in front of a bunch of people."
Harmony tries to help. "Don't worry, our costumes will be PG. It's all we can afford anyway since Figgins won't give us a budget. Trust me the outfits we have show our personalities perfectly." She assured but the team was still unsure. "Look, I know it's odd, but it's for the good of Glee Club. I'm sorry Blaine, Joe, we can't get anyone's approval through disco. This song will give us what we need. Please just trust me on this." After some consideration, the club, including the uneasy Marley decided to go for it. They don't have much to lose.
The assembly took place in the gymnasium where the entire student body is sitting in the stands. Principal is standing at a microphone in front of the stage. Will is sitting in a chair to his side. Figgins taps the microphone to begin his announcements. "Silence, children. Silence. First, an announcement. The toilets are broken again. We are fixing the problem. But let me warn you. There Will be zero tolerance for anyone soiling school grounds. We're not going to have a repeat of the last time. We have a treat for you guys today. Mr. Schuester."
The only person who is clapping are Emma, Rory, and Sugar. "Yay, Glee! Glee kids, hooray!"
"Show them what you got guys!" Sugar yells.
Will steps up to the microphone. "Uh, hi. Uh, when I went to school here, Glee Club ruled this place. And we're on our way back. But we need some recruits to join the party. Now, I can tell you all about how great Glee is, but, uh, I think I'm gonna let some friends of mine show you instead."
Will sits down in the stands. The curtains split revealing the Glee Club in blue shirts, black undershirts, and jeans begins their performance of "Push It" by Salt 'n' Pepa.
New Directions Girls (New Directions Boys):
Get up on this!
Oooh, baby, baby
Baby, baby
Oooh, baby, baby
Baby, baby
Get up on this! (Ah, push it) (Betty: Hey!)
Get up on this! (Ah, push it)
Get up on this! (Harmony: Sa-Sa-Sa-Sa-Salt and Peppa's here!)
{Jake stepped forward to do the speaking part with Marley and Betty at his sides}
Jake:
Now wait a minute, y'all
Now this dance ain't for everybody
Only the sexy people
So all you fly mothers
Get on out there and dance
Dance, I said!
Harmony (with New Directions Girls):
Sa-Salt and Pepa's here (New Directions Girls: Here)
And we're in effect
Want you to (push it, babe)
Coolin' by day
Then at night (working up a sweat)
C'mon girls (New Directions Girls:Let's go!)
Let's go show the guys (that we know)
How to become (number one) in a hot party show (now push it)
{Will is completely shocked by this performance. This is not what he had planned. And to make it worse, their choreography is lewd and suggestive. Kitty didn't like how Harmony and Ryder were dancing together in the choreography. She saw something in Harmony's eyes. A certain look that she recognized. It was the same look she gave Ryder before they started dating.}
New Directions (New Directions Boys):
(Ah, push it) Push it good
(Ah, push it) Push it real good
(Ah, push it) Push it good
(Ah, push it) P-Push it real good (Ah, push it)
{Figgins somehow found it in him to tap his foot at the song, much to Sue's shock.}
Joe:
Uh Uh Uh Uh Uh Uh Uh Uh
New Directions Girls:
Get up on this! (Betty:Hey!)
Get up on this!
Ryder (with Jake):
Yo, baby-pop
Yeah, you, come here (Gimme a kiss)
Better make it fast
Or else (I'm gonna get pissed)
Can't you hear the music's (pumpin' hard)
Like I (wish you would?)
Now (push it)
New Directions (New Directions Boys):
(Ah, push it) Push it good
(Ah, push it) Push it real good
(Ah, push it) Push it good
(Ah, push it) P-Push it real good (Ah, push it)
New Directions Girls (New Directions Boys) :
Get up on this! (Ah, push it)
Get up on this! (Marley:Aww!) (Ah, push it)
Get up on this! (Ah, push it) Betty:Hey!)
New Directions:
Aaaaahhhh
Push it!
Will, Sue, and Kitty are horrified, but Figgins and Emma appear to be enjoying themselves. The performance comes to an end. After a moment of silence, Jacob Ben-Israel springs up out of his seat.
"Yes!" He said as the students erupt into cheers, with the exception of the Cheerios, Rory, and Sugar.
Betty rolls to her friends. "Hey guys."
"Umm, hey Betty." Rory said.
"That performance was... interesting." Sugar said gently.
"Thanks guys. So I take it this means you're in?"
They were hesitant to give her an answer. "Uh, you know what, we'll get back to you on that." The duo walked away, leaving Betty with a less than hopeful look. Maybe doing a sexy performance wasn't a good idea after all.
Later at Figgins' office, after the debacle at the assembly, Figgins had called Will and Sue to his office. No one speaks until Sue began the conversation.
"Let me be the one to break the silence. That was the most offensive thing I've seen in 20 years of teaching, and that includes an elementary school production of Hair." Sue said.
"We've received angry e-mails from a number of concerned parents, many of whom thought that their children were going to hear a Special Olympian speak about overcoming adversity." Figgins informs them.
"I- I really don't know what to say." Will was completely stumped after the betrayal he got from his students.
"Well, let me help you out then. My first thought was that your students should be put into foster care. But you're the one that should be punished. I demand your resignation from this school as well as the disbanding of Glee Club." Sue offers, however Figgins intervenes.
"Now, hold on, Sue. The issue is content. Those kids are talented. And I have not seen the student body this excited since Tiffany performed at the North Hills Mall. I took the liberty of calling my pastor to provide a list of family-friendly songs that reflect our community's values. Your kids can only perform these pre-approved musical selections." Figgins hands Will the list.
"But, all of these songs have either "Jesus" or "balloons" in the title." Will argues and gets a shrugged response by Figgins.
"But there are also songs about the circus. This egg is sunny-side up, Will. You need new outfits. I got several flash of girdle from your group today. So, Sue, I'm cutting your dry-cleaning budget to pay for new costumes for the Glee Club."
"This will not stand." Sue was completely against the idea of budget cuts. She invented budget cuts at this school. They can't be used against her!
"Oh, Sue. The dry-cleaners here are just as good as the ones in Europe."
Harmony is standing just outside of Figgins' office, waiting for her Glee coach to emerge. She turns as Sue, making an "I'm watching you" gesture, passes by. Will enters.
"Mr. Schuester, I'm so sorry. I had no idea this could go so wrong." She tries to explain.
"Do you understand what you did today? You lied to me. And you ruined our chances. No parent in their right mind is gonna let their kid join Glee now. Oh, and, uh, here's a list of the songs that we're allowed to sing." He hands her the song list.
"What's a "Luftballon"?"
"Exactly. Look, I know how much you care about Glee Club and I understand why you did what you did, but I don't like the way you did it." Will exits, leaving behind a saddened Harmony.
The next day as Blaine got ready for early Cheerios practice, putting on some extra hair-gel, he was interrupted by his best friend Kitty and his other friend Bree, the former of whom had closed his locker.
"Look, if this is about the assembly, I'd like to point out that it wasn't my idea. I just wanted to do disco!" Blaine defends as he sees the laser-focused look in her eyes.
"I'm not here to talk about that. Though I do admit that I am completely shocked by the lack of hormonal containment in your group and even more disgusted by your mention of that dead genre, I need your help." Kitty told him, confusing him.
"With what exactly?"
"She wants to join the Glee Club." Bree explains, shocking Blaine.
"Wait, really? But you said it was lame."
"I did, but seeing how much passion Ryder put into it made me think that maybe I should give it a chance." This was a bold-faced lie. Kitty didn't care about Glee Club, she just didn't trust how close Harmony was to Ryder when they were singing together. She wants to keep a close eye on them.
"Okay, but why is she joining then?" Blaine points to Bree.
Bree shrugs. "My parents think I should be doing something other than Cheerleading. They think I'm full of myself. I mean seriously? How can I be full of myself? I'm amazing."
Blaine just nods, not wanting to get to that. "Wow, this is great guys. With you two that'll give us ten people."
"Yeah, that sounds interesting, Blainey-days, but I would like to get to the important stuff, like will you help us with our song? We need some backup music and you're the only guy I know with piano skills." Kitty tells him and gets nods from him.
"Obviously." He wraps an arm around Kitty's and they walk to practice together. "I have so many ideas. Do you two like Katy Perry?"
Ryder and Harmony are on stage. Harmony sits at the piano, tapping a high note which Ryder is able to reach.
"Okay, so I'm gonna try going down from here okay?" Harmony is about to start playing but Ryder interrupts.
"Uh, actually can we take a break? I could use a drink."
"Yeah, yeah, sure. Lucky I prepared for that."
Harmony gestures toward elaborate picnic area set up on the floor of the stage.
"Wow. I did not know that was there."
"Yeah, I set it up a while ago. I thought you could use a lunch break."
"Thanks. Why do you even have this." Ryder asks as he takes a seat on the blanket.
"Oh, I had this for the months. I bought it for a date I had with this guy I was dating last year. He transferred before the semester." Harmony explains.
"Huh, good to know. He had a name?"
"Yeah, Jesse St. James. He was a real gentleman, and was really talented, but I guess it... just wasn't meant to be. Anyway, he goes to Carmel. You saw him singing on stage."
"Hmm, that's tough. You miss him?"
"Everyday. He and I had a lot in common, and even thought of moving to New York to go to college and eventually Broadway together. I'll always love him, but I'm starting to move on. By the way, I was wondering why you asked me to help you with your singing. You've got a pretty good rock vibe going."
"Well, this is my only chance to be, you know, good like you."
"You think I'm good?"
"Obviously, you're amazing. And there's something really special about it too, because after I first sang with you... I don't know how to say this, but you touched something in me. Right here." Ryder places his right hand over his chest.
Harmony stares at him feeling her heart skip a beat, before snapping out of it and changing the subject. "Do you want that drink?"
"Yeah."
Harmony reaches for a thermos and prepares their Coca-Colas. "Well, cheers."
"Cheers." They each take a sip of their drinks and Ryder notices that a bit of the coke ended up on her face. "Oh, you got a little bit of it right-" Ryder reaches out and wipes his thumb slowly across Harmony's upper lip. They then freeze as they stare at each other. Ryder moves towards her. Their lips are just about to meet when Ryder realizes the mistake he's about to make. Guilt is flooding through his head as he feels like he's betrayed his girlfriend. What would Kitty say if she found out about this. Ryder awkwardly tears himself away from Harmony and stands up.
Harmony opens her eyes and sees him getting up. "Wait, Ryder? Where are you going?"
"I can't do this. I'm so sorry. I-i gotta go." Ryder exits, and Harmony places her head in her hands feeling bad for what happened. She basically broke her honor and what she said to Kitty almost became a lie.
In the choir room, we find Will sitting on a stool by the piano with Blaine at the ready to play the piano. Kitty and Bree stand before them preparing to perform a song to audition.
"I have to say, I'm really surprised you guys are trying out."
"Yeah well, Ryder was talking this place up and I'm his girlfriend. So what kind of girlfriend would I be if I didn't support him?"
"Well, let's see what you've got."
Blaine begins to play The two Cheerios perform "I Say A Little Prayer" by Dionna Warwick. Kitty sings lead, and much of the choreography features her.
Bree:
Say a little prayer for you
Kitty (Bree):
The moment I wake up
Before I put on my make-up (Make-up)
I say a little (Prayer for you)
While combing my hair now
And wondering what dress to wear now (Wear now)
I say a little (Prayer for you)
Kitty with Bree:
Forever, forever
You'll stay in my heart
And I will love you
Forever and ever
We never will part
Oh, how I love you
Together, together
That's how it must be
To live without you (Bree:Would only mean)
Heartbreak for me
Will seems impressed. They both seem to be good dancers and have very smooth voices. He applaudes them. "That was fantastic guys. An you know what?" He pauses for suspense. "You're in. Welcome to the Glee Club."
The duo smirks and high-fives with Glee for achieving their goal. Kitty looks on with a smirk on her face.
At Sue's office, Kitty and Bree are sitting in front of Sue's desk at the presence of the befumbled Sue Sylvester.
"Let me get this straight. You're joining Glee Club? I mean, I get young Burt Reynolds. If he doesn't start singing he'll start farting rainbows but you two?" Sue questions them.
"I'm sorry, Coach Sylvester, but something is going on between Ryder and that Beret Bitch. The way she was looking at him was too much for me to just sit by. Please don't kick us off the Cheerios." Kitty tries to fake tears to convince Sue to give them mercy.
Sue snaps her fingers. "Cease fire on the waterworks. I don't want to hear it. I don't want to see it. You know, Kitty-cat, when I first laid eyes on you I was reminded of a young Sue Sylvester, though you don't have my bone structure and you're tiny as hell. But it wasn't until this very moment I saw how alike we really are. You two are going to be my spies. I need eyes on the inside. We're going to bring this club down from within."
"And I'm gonna keep boyfriend back." Kitty adds.
"I don't care so much about that." Sue admits. "Now get out of my office."
Later that day, Harmony and Will are standing in the choir room alone. Harmony looks at him frustrated.
"What do you mean you're giving Kitty 'Don't Stop Believin'? She just joined." Harmony argues.
"You made this happen, Harmony. You were the one who wanted to sell sex at the assembly. Kitty's audition song was on Figgin's approved list and, frankly, she did a heck of a job singing it."
"But, that's not fair. I only had the best interests at heart and we got two members."
"Maybe, but we also convinced most of the student body to never join Glee."
"It wasn't a total loss. Betty still has those two friends to get us to twelve, right Betty?" Harmony faces Betty who tunes in to the conversation.
"Uhh-"
Flashback:
Rory and Sugar, after a long debate, decided to finally get back to Betty about joining Glee.
"Yeah, so, we thought about it, and we don't think it would be good for us join Glee right now." Sugar starts off gently.
"We really like you, and you're really talented and great, but that performance really worried us." Rory tells her.
"Come on guys. We only did it because we didn't want to do disco and make the Glee Club seem lame." Betty defended.
"Betty, we're new here. I just got to America. I'm barely scrapping by as it is."
"We're not saying that we don't want to join, we will eventually, but right now we need to wait till we can build ourselves up and wait until this whole thing dies down. We hope you understand." Sugar said as the two take their leave, disappointing Betty.
Betty.
"-, so yeah, I wouldn't hold my breath for that." Betty said, throwing off Harmony's defense.
"Look Harmony, I admit, I screwed up too. I'm as responsible for what you did at the assembly as you are. I should never have pushed disco so hard. When we did it back in '93, the disco revival was in its heyday. It was cool. We had fun. And that- That is what Glee is supposed to be about. If we're gonna succeed, we both need to change our mindsets. You're not always gonna be the star. But I promise to do my best to make sure you're always having fun. This is a good thing, Harmony. We're on our way." Will said, hoping that made Harmony feel a little better. "So let's get started."
Kitty raises her hand. "Mr. Schue, Ryder and I have a little something we've been working on that we want to share with the class." Kitty said bringing a grin to Wills face.
"Awesome. Show us what you got." He takes a seat with the other members as Ryder and Kitty sit in the middle of the choir room in stools. Ryder starts playing the guitar, signaling for Kitty to start singing.
Kitty:
Seems the only one who doesn't see your beauty
Is the face in the mirror looking back at you
You walk around here thinking you're not pretty
But that's not true 'cause I know you
Kitty and Ryder:
Hold on, baby, you're losing it
The water's high, you're jumping into it
And letting go, and no one knows
{Harmony stares at the happy couple feeling disappointed.}
That you cry, but you don't tell anyone
That you might not be the golden one
And you're tied together with a smile
But you're coming undone
Kitty:
Oh-owo-wo-wo
Ryder (and Kitty):
I guess it's true that love was all you wanted
('Cause you're givin' it away like it's extra change
Hoping it will end up in his pocket)
It's not his price to pay
Kitty and Ryder:
Hold on, baby, you're losing it
The water's high, you're jumping into it
(Kitty:And letting go, and no one knows)
That you cry, but you don't tell anyone
That you might not be the golden one
And you're tied together with a smile
But you're coming undone
Kitty:
You're tied together with a smile
But you're coming un (Ryder: done),
oh Goodbye, baby
With a smile, baby, baby
Oh
Everyone applauds the couple with pride for their performance, with the exception of Harmony, who is only feeling dread for her failure.

Thank you for reading this Fanfic. We know that it took a while since Emmahaag was very busy with theatre camp and I was busy with summer school. And no, I'm not a bad student, I just started school late and I had to make up for it. Anywho, if you're wondering why we removed the celibacy club thing, it's because I thought that it wasn't exactly something that mattered much in the show. It shows up for an episode with a bunch of Cheerios who probably all slept with Puck, I mean 'all about the teasing and not about the pleasing?', if you tease, you'll probably please. Then it disappears until season 2 and when it's filled, it's with a bunch of non-virgins, Emma, and Tina. Plus it gets replaced by the God Squad anyway, so what does it matter? Anyway we hope you enjoyed this and we hope to see you again next episode.
Drift and Emma Out.
