Tony's point of view

There were tears streaming silently down Pepper's cheeks. She saw me watching her and ran out of the room. I followed.

"Hey… Pep that's not going to happen this time"

"Why wouldn't it Tony? You are more interested in being Iron Man and running into the face of danger than you are in anything else."

"That isn't true"

"Yes it is. If this continues to happen, I don't think we are going to last the distance."

"All right fine, let's just end this now and save all the pain and heartache later on"

"OK"

"Fine"

"Fine. I am resigning as Stark Industries CEO, I will move out of the tower and back with my Godfather before the end of the month and you don't need to see me ever again."

"Or you can stop acting like a spoilt brat, stop playing the victim and be a mature responsible adult and accept your future" said a voice

"Pepper, we need your skills."

"What skills?"

"You are going to join the team, you are going to help coordinate everything, you don't have to be on the battlefield until we face Thanos for the final time."

"Fine"
