Danny and King began their walk through the castle, and Danny was amazed by its atmosphere.

Phantom restricted the castle in his Ghost Zone since it held onto some dangerous objects.

Here, however, was so different.

There was life, and Danny could see himself living here rent-free.

Danny could see the perks of his other self just by observing his interactions. While most people miss what they see, Danny wasn't one of them.

That's why, back then, Danny was part of Team Phantom before the argument.

Now, they struggle more since Danny left, but, hey, they deserve it.

"And here's the video games room. Honestly, I was sick of playing by myself. It's nice having some company..."

The way King said company, Danny could tell that definitely went wrong in this world.

"What kind of games do you have?" Danny asked, and King smirked.

"Well, I have ones here and in the future, considering I can travel between."

"Really? Even the newest addition of Doomed?"

"Ah, about that one, it got discontinued."

"NO!" Danny shouts, causing King to laugh.

"Yeah, it sucked. However, I have alternate video games that are a bit horror but overall cool."

"Even a space theme game?"

"Yep!"

Danny wasn't sure how to feel about horror games.

On one hand, he didn't like horror games much since the whole "Fright Night" was diabolical during Halloween.

On the other hand, it's space-themed...

"What kind of games do you have that won't kill me easily?" Danny asked, suddenly feeling dread as King mischievously smiled.

"Ever heard of Alien?"

"Ok. That's it. I'm done," Danny says, dropping the remote control after dying for the 50th time in the past three hours.

King just laughed, seeing how cute his other self was pouting over losing a video game.

In retrospect, he should have told Danny how bad it was from the beginning, but he didn't want to do it just to see Danny's expression.

"I hate you, dude," Danny said, hands itching to grab King by the throat.

"Not sorry, dude," King sassed back, causing Danny to lunge at him.

"You dirty liar!" Danny shouted, shoving his hands onto King's face.

"Pretty boy pissed?" King laughed, causing Danny to be taken back.

"Pretty boy?! Why you-"

King then flipped them over, putting him on top of Danny.

"Not sorry," He said, pinning Danny's hands.

Danny just scoffed and rolled his eyes.

They just stared at each other for a while, and Danny soon noticed something.

"Your eyes. They really do have stars in them, huh?" He whispered, causing King to blush lightly.

"Yeah, still obsessed with space and all that."

"Huh... Glad you didn't lose interest in that."

"Hmm," was all King could do before getting off Danny.

"I never saw them again. The stars. Ever since I became king of the ghosts..."

They said this on their knees, looking at each other. The silence was comforting, at least.

"You're gonna tell me one day what happened to you, right? About why you, a human, not a ghost, ruling ghosts?" Danny whispered.

"Yes. And a lot more secrets, too. Honestly, I hadn't had much fun. I'm always stuck here, never being able to go anywhere..."

"Hm... What about your parents? Your sister? Your... friends?" Danny sneered at the last part, not wanting the other Danny to gloat about still being friends with Samd and Tucker (not that King would.)

"Let's just say we... haven't met," King said after a small silence.

Suddenly, Danny's phone buzzed, and he picked it up to see that it was already 10 PM in his world.

"Hold on, let me text my friends," Danny muttered, getting King to lean over to see who he was texting.

"Wait, Dash? Paulina? Kwan? Star? Those are your friends?" King asked, eyes widened.

"Yeah, they are."

"Whoa, what did you do in order for them to be friends with you?"

"Hey- No, wait, you're right. Let's just say when your ex-friends ditched you, you can find friends elsewhere..."

King didn't say anything afterward, just staring at Danny's phone.

"Hm..."

Dash was starting to get really worried.

Like, seriously worried.

Danny hadn't shown up in seven hours, and it was already nighttime.

Usually, he sends a text or two in the group chat before going to sleep, but nothing is sent.

Nothing.

Dash was tempted to call the police until he saw a message sent on his phone.

Studious Nerd: "Night, guys. Sorry for disappearing. Had a family emergency."

Dash immediately sighed with relief, but then, he didn't feel so relaxed.

Princess: Dashy over here was just worried

Queen: Agree

Football Star: Shut up! I wasn't THAT bad!

Sidekick: Hate 2 b rude, but it's true

Dash could hear Danny laughing at him, the bastard.

Still, once he gets here, he'll have his revenge.

Probably a smack on the head. Or maybe a slap on his forehead. Or a flick...

Either way, he won't get away with this. Not at all...

Danny laughed at the fact that Dash was the one in the group who worried the most.

"Again, how is it possible?" King asked, and Danny genuinely smiled.

"It's part of life, I guess. When things go in the other direction, sometimes, something positive comes out of it..."

"Huh, who knew we had a smart person here?" King said, no sass intended.

"Ha ha, very funny. I'm just intelligent enough to get good grades, not become a full nerd, idiot," Danny said, flicking King's head.

"Hey!"

Danny chuckles, getting King all railed up.

As he saw King about to pounce on him again, Danny hit behind a chair, trying to protect himself. Suddenly, someone knocked, startling them.

"My King, supper is ready," Fright Knight said, opening the door.

"Oh, time indeed had passed," King said, glancing at the clock in the ceiling.

"Wait, how come our times are different- Nope, never mind. No need to answer that," Danny said, facepalming.

"Every dimension's time is different, duh," Danny mumbled, shaking his head at his idiocy.

"Do you do that a lot?" King asked, and Danny nodded.

"Yeah, it happens more than you think..."

"Oh well. I'm starving. Feel free to join me." King said, walking to the door. Danny quickly followed, still feeling a bit lost in the castle.

Honestly, he could get used to living here if he wanted to stay.

Unknowingly for Danny, King only saw a spark in his eyes, and he smiled.

'Perfect...'
