Goodness... Welcome back!

After the nights goings on I wasn't in the best shape to travel but there was really no other choice for us. Staying in the Mirkwood forest would prove worse than moving on.

The elves had to ride on the roof of the car due to its already full capacity. They said they'd be fine up there and their balance was good enough to not just fall of on the very bumpy ride. The first ride though, Dwalin had taken off rather hastily and we had heard a collective thud from the roof as the elves tried keeping upright. The dwarves in the back had snickered but I'd given Dwalin a look and he drove carefully from then on. Now we were swerving through the trees and dodging boulders. A blonde head popped up in the windshield.

"We need to take a more southern heading," Legolas pointed before his head disappeared back to the roof. Dwalin grunted but did what was suggested. That's when spider webs began to frame the trees. Next, a red head popped into the windshield warning us to go faster.

Everyone's nerves were in high gear as Dwalin hit the gas. A creepy figure dashed from behind a tree. The spider obviously hadn't realized his prey was a tad too powerful for him. We squashed him like a bug (oh, wait…) and swerved to avoid another. The elves were busy keeping the spiders in the trees off the car and the dwarves and one hobbit were busy poking at them through the windows. Dwalin drove on to the occasional directions shouted by Legolas. The webs began to thin and the amount of spiders began to lessen. Just as people were beginning to settle down a hairy let jammed through my window and latched onto my arm. I screamed and jerked back, trying to move into the seats behind. The dwarves held on to me as I struggled to get further away from the giant spider. By now the elves had long disposed of the creature. My breathing was erratic and I was just realizing how much it was affecting all of my injuries. I bent over with a huff feeling pain running through my entire body. The dwarves helped me back into my seat. Red hair fell over the window again, "We will look at that again once we've stopped." She said curtly before disappearing. I nodded to no one before falling into a daze.

I didn't even notice when the trees began thinning and a glistening lake with a lonely mountain came into view. The diverse group murmured in unison at the sight. We'd slowed down considerably and the elves had hopped off to run beside us. I figured it wasn't comfortable on the roof and they were probably taking a break from it. I leaned forward in my seat when I notice the town. It was such an odd site to me. It was just sitting there in the lake, floating about. We'd stopped now and were preparing camp. I'd tell them what we needed to do after a good meal. Bombur was cooking away while I tried not to doze off. A hand fell gently on my good shoulder. It was Tauriel. I got up and followed her to the side.

"Let me look you over, then I will get Legolas and we will try our best to help you." She was already examining me. Once she was satisfied she went off to grab the blond elf. I hadn't known the elves could heal before, let alone Legolas. I mused at this until both showed up beside me. Tauriel motioned for Legolas to move to the other side of me. They began to softly chant while I watched them, still musing. The chanting lulled my tired mind and body into a kind of trance. I didn't remember falling asleep.

My eyes lightly gazed through the mists of sleep. I felt so nice, like I had had the nicest nap. My body felt airy and renewed. I smiled and took a deep breath. As my eyes began to focus more I could see Legolas looking down at me. "Legolas is glowing!" I said happily with sleep still in my voice. Tauriel laughed lightly and I turned toward her. "You're glowing too!" I added in awe. I think the magic was having a funny affect on me; my mind was slow to wake up. I shook my head trying to clear it. "I need to get up now," I said, trying to lift myself into sitting position. A hand on each shoulder kept me down. "Only a minute more, Sharae," Tauriel whispered as they both continued to glow. I lay back down and waited for them to finish.

The glowing finally dimmed and the two elves took a long deep breath before letting me up. I sat up, dizziness keeping me from standing further. Tauriel grabbed my arm, helping me stand. I turned my head to thank the two but the action had my knees buckling. A hand reached out to steady me. "Does this happen often?" I asked trying to keep myself steady. Tauriel helped me keep my balance. "This is powerful magic. This does not happen often, it could simply be your weakened state," She pointed, "You should be well enough by tomorrow." She led me to the place my blanket had been set out. "Thank you Tauriel." I paused as she set me down, "And Legolas too. I rolled over and pulled the blanket around me snugly. The dwarves were still up and clambering about but before I fell asleep I noticed a pair of hairy feet shuffling in my direction. His little body sat next to mine and he placed his hand gently on my head. He began quietly rehearsing a tune and I drifted into sleep.
