As a little warning, I'm gonna be merging the points of view of Lyson with the other ones since we're getting deeper into the story.

Also, I do not own One Piece, Oda does and he wouldn't let me get near it. The only thing I own is Lyson and nothing else.
Lyson arrived at the docks where several ships were docking and leaving and began asking different merchant ships and crews where they were going and if they're heading to the Grand Line.
"Hahahaha! You must be joking!"
"T-The Grand L-line?"
"I ain't got a death wish ya punk!"
"No sane ship crew is going to be there."
"You better quit while you're still young."
Lyson sighed heavily as he left the docks completely empty-handed and without a plan. He needs a way to get to the Grand Line and it seems that no one he has talked with is willing to go there due to the legends and tales of the cursed ocean. In the meantime, he stops walking and leans on the closest building, pulling out a pen and his notebook. He flips the book open, stopping at the Gomu-Gomu Fruit, and begins to write down some of his findings on the mysterious fruit.
"Initial observations conclude that the power of the Gomu-Gomu Fruit seems to be constantly active as soon as the user eats the fruit. Unlike any other kind of Devil Fruit recorded, this one seems to permanently change the user's body properties into rubber and do nothing else. Not being activation-based makes it unique to the devil fruits. Concluding that this Paramecia Fruit is somehow significant means that it needs to be kept hidden for some reason. Other properties of rubber such as its elasticity and insulator must be tested further-
"HEY, MY HAT!"
Lyson looks up from his notes to see a familiar straw hat flowing through the air, being followed by another familiar teen. Lyson quickly pulls the notebook in front of his face as the teen runs past him, determined to get back his hat.
"Well," Lyson says as he watches the boy run away, "Maybe I can get some of my answers directly from the source!" He puts his notebook back in his bag before stopping in place.
'If I'm gonna deal with a devil fruit user, I should bring out the big guns!' Lyson thinks as he reaches once more in his bag and pulls out the tin box.
At the town square, home of the islands' greatest landmark, the execution platform, a straw hat falls to the ground as the owner of said hat picks it back up.
"Good. My hat!" Luffy places his hat back on his head as he looks up, realizing where he was. A moment later he's standing atop of the platform, looking out at the busy town square. He was finally able to experience what the King of the Pirates felt in his last moments.
"Wow! So this is the scenery that the King of Pirates saw..." he says soaking in the view, "That old man said that it was 22 years ago that the King of Pirates died here."
"Hey, you over there!" a booming voice called. Luffy looked down and saw an officer holding a megaphone at the bottom of the platform. "Come down right away!"
"Why!?" Luffy questioned.
"That is a special execution platform under the control of the World Government! Come down right now!" The officer's voices echos through the town square.
"Well, you don't have to be so strict, officer!" Luffy shouts back.
"If you don't come down, I'll just arrest you. I'm coming up right-" The officer wasn't able to finish his threat when a huge iron club smacks him away, causing people to panic due to the sudden attack.
"Hmph. I've been looking for you for a long time...Monkey D Luffy." a sultry voice called out. People's eyes turned to a woman with unimaginable beauty. Long silky black hair somewhat covered by a cowboy hat, and a long purple coat that failed to hide her curves, and a large iron club over her shoulder.
"Huh?"
"Don't tell me you forgot about me? What a shame..." The woman then asks, "Everyone, what's the most beautiful thing in East Blue?"
"That would be you!" Everyone in the crowd replies.
"Yes, that's me, Aldiva. Now I love string men and you Luffy, will be mine."
"Huh? I still don't know who the heck you are."
"I ALREADY SAID IT!"
"Stop! You are under arrest!" Two police officers approach the woman known as Alvida and point their weapons at her, but soon find themselves unable to go any further when a large explosion blew run and up a fountain nearby, causing debris to fly everywhere. Some of the debris was flying straight towards Alvida, who made no action to dodge, but when the debris impacted her, it instead slid off her, crashing into a nearby building. When the dust settled a crew of hooded figures begin to enter the town square.
"That was dangerous, y'know." Alvida quips as the hooded figure in the front chuckles.
"I apologize, but of course no harm came to that smooth skin of yours...Alvida." The figure says, causing Luffy to tilt his head in confusion.
"Wait, why are you calling her Alvida? I don't see her anywhere." Luffy asks.
"I'M ALVIDA YOU BLOCKHEAD!" Alvida yells in frustration.
"Really?" Luffy says skeptically, "You don't look a thing like her."
"Well then," Alvida grabs her coat and flings it off, revealing her hourglass figure, "That's because I too ate a devil fruit, the Sube-Sube no Mi, to be exact. Now anything that tries to hit me will just slide off. A shame though, it didn't even enhance my natural beauty, just got rid of my freckles."
"That's not what I mean..."
"However," Alvida gestures to the cloaked figures behind her, "After being reborn, I met someone who shared the same goal as me, to find you." When she finishes the cloaked figures throw off their disguises and reveal to be a pirate crew led by a red-nosed clown.
"Now finally, the real star shows up!" The clown exclaims, "Monkey D. Luffy! Ever since you humiliated me, I have been plotting my revenge for you!"
Luffy's eyes widen, "It's you! Boggy! No, wait, Behie?" Luffy then smack the bottom of his fist into his palm, "I got it! Buffoon!"
A quiet moment passes by the clown is stunned by Luffy's realization.
"BUFFOON!? STOP SCREWING AROUND!" he shouts at the top of his lungs. People in the crowd began to recognize the clown and panic started to rise.
"It's the Buggy the Clown!"
"Pirates!?"
"IT'S THE BUGGY PIRATES!"
People started to run like their lives depended on it as Buggy's crew secured the area clearing people away, but also keeping them in the town square to see the show.
"Ahh! It's Buggy, right?" Luffy tried once more, irritating the clown more until he was suddenly forced down by a wooden pillory by a wavy-haired man with a scarf. The man looks at Luffy with a smile and says, "Long time no see, Rubber Man. How's Roronoa Zoro?"
Buggy spreads his hands wide and gleefully announces the execution of Luffy, in the same place the King of Pirates died.
Hidden in the crowds of panicking civilians, Lyson observed the confrontation of the pirates, soaking in the new information.
'That kid is Luffy? And if he's a pirate worth 30 million, then there's a good chance he'll be setting out for the Grand Line. I need to get off this island as soon as possible to avoid the marines, so maybe I can catch a ride. The Sube-Sube and the rumors of Buggy's Bara-Bara are gonna be tough to deal with.' Lyson looks at the buildings surrounding the town square and barely spots the hat of a marine poking from one of the roofs.
"Guess Smoker wants some action too. Maybe it's time I make a move." Lyson pulls out his whip, but the Morningstar tip has been replaced by a sphere made of dark material.
"I'm sorry. I won't do it again. Please save me." Luffy pleads for his life in a bored voice.
"Why the hell would I save you, idiot!" Buggy cries out.
"Oi oi oi. I'm pretty sure he said please." A new voice called out from the crowd, gaining the attention of the pirates. The crowd of citizens part and leaves a young man with purple hair, a red jacket, and a satchel at his side. His eyes staring directly into Buggys.
"Who the hell are you?" Buggy pointed his sword down below as the young man walks forward. "Get rid of him, he's ruining my flashy execution!" he ordered his crew.
"YES CAPTAIN BUGGY!" 3 of Buggy's crew members rush him, wielding their weapons, and leap in the air to attack the intruder. The young man quickly reaches into his side and pulls out a chain whip with a heavy ball at the end and swings it full circle, hitting the 3 thugs consecutively knocking them down.
"Hey, it's you!" Luffy yells out, "My Gomu brother!"
"HIS WHAT?!" the crowd of people, pirates included, cries out of surprise.
"Don't call me that! My name is Lyson, Rubber-Brain!" Lyson yells back, eye twitching and annoyed, "I'm here to help you, so just shut up! You're my ticket to the Grand Line." He begins to make his way through the crowd of pirates, dodging until a giant spiked club is smashed at his feet, barely hitting him. Lyson looks up and sees Alvida smirking as she lifts her club once more to attack.
"You're not going to interrupt this execution darling. Now just stay still for me as I crush you!" She begins her swing once more as Lyson whips his chain end at her. When she sees the weapon coming at her, she simply smiles and says, "Silly boy, you still don't understand the power of-" but is interrupted as the chain ball hits her shoulder, causing her to grit her teeth and miss her swing.
"Tch! How the hell...?" she rubs her shoulder, but the pain quickly slips away.
Lyson smirks and whips it at her again, which forces her to dodge it. "Not so scary now Miss Sube!"
Off in the bell tower, Captain Smoker watches the encounter through binoculars and his sneer deepens.
"What the hell is that kid doing?" He says, eyeing the scientist he saw earlier.
"Do you know him, Captain Smoker?" Tashigi, a female marine officer, asked.
Smoker puts down the binoculars and orders his men, "Stay on your guard, I have a bad feeling about this."
Lyson dodges another swipe of Alvida's club before ducking to avoid the slash of another pirate from behind him. He whips his chain to take them out, but almost gets crushed by the iron club again.
"Now, now. I'll promise this will all be over if you just stop moving!" She swings her club once more but stops when a loud voice rings from the execution platform.
"I'M THE MAN WHO'LL BECOME KING OF THE PIRATES!" Luffy's voice rings out for all to hear, causing all there to turn their heads at the bold statement, effectively silencing everyone there.
"Wha..."
"Did he say King of Pirates?"
"In this town, of all places..."
"That's crazy..."
Lyson narrows his eyes at the rubber teen, "He's serious. Even when he might die, he said it in full confidence..."
Buggy simply smiles at Luffy's declaration and raises his sword, "Well then, you and the King of Pirates have one thing in common, your deaths."
"Stop...!" A strong voice calls out.
"..the execution!" Another voice joins in.
Heads turn as Zoro and Sanji make their entrances.
Lyson's eyes widen at the sight of the blond while Luffy's face splits with a smile, "Zoro! Sanji!"
"I told you goofing off here was a mistake, Luffy." Zoro quips.
"If you're gonna make a sideshow, at least invite me to it." Sanji states.
The crowd of people quickly disperse at the sight of Pirate Hunter, but Buggy doesn't seem fazed as he lifts his sword over his head, "So you finally showed up Zoro? Too bad, but you're too late!"
Zoro and Sanji, seeing the danger, start to rush over to the group of pirates to stop the execution, fighting the Buggy pirates. Lyson turns back and raises his chain on reflex to catch Alvida's blow. Alvida begins to order her men to attack the other two as she leaned closer to Lyson, her club only inches from his face, causing his eyes to widen.
Seeing how much the scientist struggles with the weight of her club, she takes one hand off her weapon to caress his face. "You don't look that bad either you know..." She puts her face closer to his while adding more pressure to her club. Lyson's eyes suddenly narrow and while he grits his teeth, he spats, "You know, beauty is in the soul, and from my eyes, you look pretty ugly."
Alvida'a face morphs into one of pure anger as she lifts her club and raises it over her head, "How dare you call me ugly! Just die!" and brings it down on his head.
"Kopī: Sube-Sube"
When the club reaches his head, instead of caving down on his skull, the club slips from the top of his head and slides down to his right. The club digs itself deep into the ground as Alvida struggles to pull it from the ground.
"What the..." she says in confusion as Lyson takes this chance to run past her to the platform.
Buggy, not paying attention to the fights below, laughs in triumph as holds the sword over his head and swings it down to Luffy's head.
"Zoro! Sanji! Ussop! Nami!" Luffy cries out as the blade descends, a wide smile on his face, "Sorry, I'm dead."
"Idi..."
"Don't say something so stupid!"
"You better not die!"
Time seems to slow down as the blade is inches from Luffy's neck begins to let out sparks.
Then the world turned white.
When the light turned down, heavy rain begins to fall. The execution platform is still standing, but the top of it was burning bright with blue flames, as the bolts of the platform began to fall out, causing the whole thing to come crashing down, still ignited. Lyson, Zoro, and Sanji stood still with complete bewilderment on their faces until a familiar straw hat floats down from the sky and lands on the ground in front of Lyson, prompting him to pick it up. When he does he sees a figure walk towards him, and when it stops in front of him, it takes the hat in his hands and puts it on his head.
Luffy, covered in soot, laughs loudly, "Guess I'm still alive. How lucky of me." and without another word, takes Lyson's arm and walks over to Zoro and Sanji.
Lyson is still lost for word when the rubber human drags him over and before the other two could ask their captain about him, they're suddenly surrounded by the town's marine force. They come from all sides and begin to combat the remaining forces of the Buggy Pirates.
As the fights happen, Lyson barely dodges a flying marine before bumping into someone, he turns to see Sanji looking at him, raising his one eyebrow.
"Looks like we meet again." The cook states.
"Uh-huh. Never guess you knew the rubber guy." Lyson replies ducking, another flying pirate soaring over his head.
"Well, see ya." Sanji turns to Zoro holding Luffy by the collar, "We'd better head back to the ship you two! Unless you wanna stay on this island, and not the Grand Line." he calls out.
"What?! That's no good!" Luffy and the other two begin running off before the rubber captain stops in his tracks. "I almost forgot!" He pulls back his arm and swings it at the unaware scientist.
"What the..." Lyson says as a rubber arm wraps itself around his waist and yanks him from his spot.
"You're coming with us too, Bison!" Luffy exclaims as he holds Lyson above his head.
"Hey! What are you..." Lyson says as he is trapped but stops, blinks, and yells, "Did you call me Bison, rubber-for-brains?!"
"Well, I guess you're coming with us Bison," Sanji says.
"IT'S LYSON, NOT BISON!"
"Well, nice to meet you, Bison." Zoro states.
The four(?) of them run off as the marines call out, "The Straw Hat pirates are getting away! Get them!"
Lyson begins to struggle in his rubbery restraints as the other three race down the city streets, "Hey! Let me go already!"
"Why?" Luffy looks up at his captive, "You said you wanted to go to the Grand Line, right?" That causes Lyson to stop struggling and stare at the rubber human.
"Yeah, why?"
"Yosh!" Luffy then looks back in front of him, "That's where we're going!"
Lyson stares at him, trying to find any kind of deception in his voice, but finds none.
"Fine."
"Which way is the sea?" Zoro asks as they continue to run down the city streets.
"I can't tell because the rain is so heavy!" Luffy answers, looking back and seeing a small army of marines behind them, roaring to capture them.
"What a bunch of persistent bastards! Should we stop and fight them?" The swordsman suggests.
"We don't have time for that. Plus we have him to worry about!" Sanji shoots down the idea and gestures to Luffy's captive.
"I'm right here," Lyson says deadpanned, still being constricted by Luffy. "Why are you still holding onto me?"
"Wow! Who's that lady?" Sanji exclaims as their path is blocked by Tashigi, who has a downward cast on her face.
"I didn't know you were Roronoa Zoro, and a pirate to boot." She says quietly, her voice coming through the heavy rain as she raises her head. "You... you lied to me!"
The three of them stop in their track as Sanji whirls over to Zoro, "What!? What did you do to her!?"
"You didn't ask what my name was." Zoro walks past the two and approaches her. "It's not like I lied to you."
"A pirate like you can't be allowed to wield a renown sword!" She cries out, "I'll collect your sword, the legendary Wado Ichimonji!"
Zoro's hand reaches for his blade, "Try me." he taunts.
Tashigi grits her teeth and unsheathes her sword, rushing towards the pirate hunter and takes a strike at him, which he blocks. The two stare at each other before Zoro slides out and takes a slash at her, which she blocks as well.
"Hey, jerk! How dare you attack a lady!" Sanji begins to come in between the two of them but Tashigi asks him to stop and that this was her fight.
"You heard her. Go on ahead." Zoro says, his back facing them.
"Okay, let's go Sanji!" Luffy says as he, Lyson, and Sanji run past the two sword fighters, the latter warning to beat up Zoro if he hurts Tashigi. The three of them are continuing to make their way to the harbor.
"Is he going to be okay? We left him with a small army of marines behind us." Lyson asked the other two pirates.
"Don't worry. Zoro's super strong!" Luffy says confidently.
"He's still an idiot Moss-Head," Sanji adds.
They continue their path before the entrance of the harbor comes into view, but stops once again as another figure blocks their path. Someone who makes Lyson feel like a stone was dropped in his stomach. Captain Smoker is standing in front of some sort of vehicle and is the only thing blocking them from leaving the island.
"Hey, who is it this time?" Sanji asks as they stop running.
"Looks like you're finally here..." Smoker says, "Straw Hat Luffy."
Lyson shivers for a moment where Smoker's eyes locked onto his but says nothing about it.
"Didn't I tell you that you can't enter the Grand Line until you beat me first?"
"Oh yeah, I forgot about that," Luffy says care-free. Lyson feels Luffy's arm loosen around him before he's dropped into Sanji's arms.
"Sanji, take Lyson and go on ahead. I'll meet you ahead." Luffy says calmly.
Smoker begins to walk towards them, "Well, I don't think about that. This is going to be the end for you."
Sanji looks between the two of them and sighs before running off past Smoker.
"Oh no, you don't" Smoker pulls out his jitte and is about to make a jab until-
"Gomu-Gomu no: Pistol!"
Luffy's outstretched arm comes between the two and forces Smoker to step back, allowing Sanji and Lyson to make it past the marine. As soon as they make it to the harbor, Lyson begins to struggle in Sanji's grasp.
"Let me go already!" Lyson complains.
"Just put a sock in it, I gotta take you to the Merry, captain's orders."
"No, your captain can't beat Smoker!"
Sanji scoffs, "I doubt that an entire army can take Luffy down when he's serious."
Lyson's scowl deepens, "Does an army have a devil fruit power that can nullify all physical attacks?"
That makes Sanji stop in his tracks. He puts Lyson down and asks, "What do you mean, nullify all attacks?"
"Captain Smoker has a devil fruit that allows him to pass through any attack he wants! Your captain stands no chance against him!" Lyson explains quickly.
"Damn it! I'm going back-" Sanji turns around, but stops when he feels someone grasp his arm. Lyson looks up at the cook and says, "Let me go to him, I have a way to beat him."
Sanji gives him a suspicious look, "How would I know if you're just lying to make a getaway? Or go help the marine?"
"Because," Lyson says looking directly into Sanji's eye, "I want to leave this island and go to the Grand Line just as much as you do."
Sanji looks back at Lyson for a moment before mumbling, "I really need a cigarette after this." and runs towards the seaside. Lyson, alone, faces the direction of Luffy and Smoker.
'Is this really worth it? Taking the sides of pirates and going against the marines?' He thinks as the heavy rain pours on him.
"You said you wanted to go to the Grand Line, right?" Luffy's words echoing back in his head.
"Damn it!" Lyson says as he begins to run.
Which direction? Who knows.
"White Blow!"
A plume of smoke rushes at Luffy, pushing the pirates until he was pinned to the wall.
"You bastard! Gomu-Gomu no: Pistol!" His fist shoots out and hits Smoker's stomach, but instead of impacting, it harmless passes through the marine.
"Get it through your head already, you can't enter the Grand-" Smoker is interrupted as he feels something hit his arm. Luffy opens his eyes and sees that the smoke has dissipated and Smoker is cradling his arm. Luffy looks around and to his right, Lyson is spinning a black ball on a chain and is standing between him and Smoker.
"I thought you were a hostage taken by pirates, but I guess you are taking their side?" Smoker says, his tone is unchanging.
Lyson's eyes are shadowed by his wet hair before he swings his ball and chain at the marine once more. Smoker's eyes widen as he pulls out his jitte and uses it to catch the chain and digs it into the ground. He then grabs the remaining part of the chain and pulls it hard, causing Lyson to fly towards the marine.
"Crap!" Lyson says as he's pulled.
Smoker rears his fist and when Lyson gets close enough, he sends a punch to his gut, but when his fist makes an impact with his stomach, the scientist's torso dissolves into smoke, making Smoker's eyes widen and his cigars fall out of his mouth.
"What the...!?"
Lyson's face is scrunched up and is shouting in pain as the smoke that was his body converges back to normal, but when the final wisp of smoke returns to his body and makes it whole again, Lyson falls over, unconscious. The last thing he could hear was Luffy calling out to him, then,
Darkness.

PHEW! That chapter took a lot outta me than I thought, but I guess my need for completion is too strong!
Well, the next chapter is gonna be fun to write but one message I wanna make clear:
Including filler characters into my story, with different devil fruit powers like Apis or Foxy(I was told Foxy Pirates are filler and I was honestly surprised) I will include which ones I want and the powers there are free to return into the canon. I'm doing this rule because there were so many interesting devil fruit powers I want to expand on, but were shackled due to not being canon. I don't know what I'm doing when it comes to movies, those just give me headaches thinking about them.
