Chapter 2: Arriving in the Past

Mustafa, Japan

The dark sky. The destruction. That's all that Izuku Midoriya can see. In the middle of the destroyed city, a perfected Shigaraki stands over Midoriya, a sadistic grin on his face and his hand on Izuku's throat. Only one finger away from killing Izuku. Shigaraki laughs as Izuku struggles in his grip.

"What did you think would happen? You thought you could beat me? You're keeping me from my dream!" Shigraki angrily shouts. Izuku grits his teeth, blood begins to drop from the corners of his mouth.

"That's exactly why I'm here!" Izuku growls. Izuku's arm begins to glow, preparing a final attack. Shigraki smirks as he reaches down, putting all five fingers on his arm. Izuku painfully yells as his arm crumbles away.

"You're worthless. You're the last one standing." Shigraki turns his head. Izuku follows his sight, causing his eyes to widen in horror. Standing behind Shigraki is the rest of the league of villains, but that's not what catches his attention, It's Himiko and Dabi. In Himiko's hand is Uraraka's headpiece, covered in blood.

"I'm sorry, Izuku-babe. Ochaco was in the way so I just had to kill her." Himiko blushes, loving the sight of a bloody Izuku. Dabi chuckles as he throws Endeavor's shoulder piece from his suit and Shoto's bloody shirt. Dabi smirks at Izuku as he crouches down.

"You don't know how good it felt to burn that little piece of shit into dust." Dabi smiles as he looks down at Izuku. "Don't worry, you'll see them soon." Shigaraki grins as he finally touches Izuku with the last finger. Izuku's eyes widen as cracks begin to form around his neck and his vision goes black.

UA 3-A Dorms, Present time

"AHHH!" Izuku screams, waking up from another nightmare. Izuku takes several deep breaths as he tries to calm himself. He looks at his hand and notices his body covered in his 'full cowling'. Looking to his right, he finds his glass door to his balcony shattered. Izuku grabs his shirt from the floor and wipes the sweat off his body. Just then, a knock at his door surprises him.

"Monsieur Izuku? Is everything alright?" Aoyama asks behind his door.

"Y-yeah, I'm fine Aoyyama." Izuku replies, trying to stay calm.

"Well, if you say so. Breakfast is almost ready." Aoyama informs him. He slowly walks away, not wanting to keep prying.

"Thank you, I'll be right out."

Izuku takes a deep breath, listening to his friend's fading footsteps. After not hearing anything, Izuku gets up and decides to take a shower and get the sweat off. It hurts Izuku, having to lie to his friends about his nightmares but he just doesn't want to worry them. Izuku turns the lights on, giving himself a look in the mirror. Izuku reaches up and touches the large scar that sits on the edge of his lips. His eyes roam towards his chest and arms, more specifically the large scar on his right peck. He looks at his eyes, the dark bags under them from the lack of sleep.

Even after two years, Izuku is still reminded of what he had to do to end Shigaraki's terror. Since the battle with shigaraki, Izuku has lost the baby face that he was known for. His face is thinner and more like an adult, while also getting a growth spurt, growing from 5'5ft to 6'2ft. He's also gained a significant amount of muscle but nothing close to All Might but more like an olympic swimmer. After grabbing a quick shower Izuku changes into his uniform, which is no longer baggy but tighter. He heads downstairs and joins the rest of his class for breakfast.

Arriving in the common room, Izuku smiles as he sees his class interact. Having been through everything the past 3 years has really made them all closer, as close as any family can be. He looks around and finds a smiling Hitoshi Shinso as he talks to Denki. After joining them in the second year, it's almost as if he was always with them.

Looking around he finds that the table is covered with a lot of food, probably because today is their weekly joint training session with class 3-B. Izuku smiles at the thought of their sister school, all the amazing friends he has there. Since the war, both classes are as close as can be. They've all changed but the one who's changed the most is surprisingly Monoma. He can proudly say that Monoma quickly became one of his closest friends, even if he slips back to his old self during their joint training sessions. As Izuku looks at everyone, he notices someone missing. Just then something hits the back of his head.

"OW! What was that for!?" Izuku says, turning his head to glare at his best friend. Standing next to him is his childhood best friend, Katsuki Bakugo.

"You were just standing there like an idiot. Had to smack some sense back into you." Katsuki says, a smirk present on his face. Izuku shakes his head as he sees Katsuki extend a fist. Izuku smiles as he bumps his fist.

Another big change is the new 'Big 3'. With Mirio, Nejire, and Tamaki graduating after the war; Izuku, Katsuki and Shoto were dubbed the new 'Big 3'. The three boys have come a long way, not each interning at different agencies.

Shoto is still at Endeavours' Agency, now run by Burnin. While Katsuki is back with Best Jeanist, even if he is forced to change his hero name to Dynamite. Izuku has been doing his work study with Mirko. Mirko is now the number 2 ranked hero, right behind the new number 1 hero Best Jeanist. After the war, Endeavour decides to retire and spend time and repair his relationship with his wife and kids.

Finding a spot next to Ochaco, Izuku quickly sits down and begins enjoying the breakfast that Rikido made for everyone. The thing Izuku doesn't notice is the faces of his classmates as he eats, each of them worried for their friend. They know everything. The nightmares. The lack of sleep. The dark circles that rival Shinso and Aizawa. After a quick breakfast, Class 3-A head out to meet with their sister class and head for class. After meeting class 3-B, Tenya holds Izuku back from the rest of their classmates.

"Izuku, are you sure you're okay?" Tenya asks his best friend. Izuku is surprised but manages to give his friend a soft smile and nod.

"I'm fine, Tenya. I just stayed up late last night to study." Izuku assures his friend. Tenya squeezes his shoulder as he speaks.

"Izuku, if you ever need to talk to someone then I'm here. You know that right? We're friends." Tenya assures his friend.

"I promise I'm fine, but I'll find you if anything." Izuku smiles, turning towards the rest of their friends and walking towards them. Izuku bites his lip in frustration as Tenya looks on with a worried face.

After arriving at class, Izuku finds it hard to keep his eyes open as he goes through all their daily classes. Aizawa watches his problem child try and keep his eyes open but doesn't say anything, knowing what he's been through he could give him a break just this once. After having lunch and their last class, it's time for the thing both hero classes were waiting for. Their weekly joining training session.

As both classes head to the locker rooms, Izuku remains quiet as he enters. In the locker room, most of the guys remain quiet as they peek at Izuku's scar filled body. All the scars that run along his back, arms and the large scar on his right back. Some of them can even imagine the pain he went through as he fought Shigaraki for almost 8 hours. They can never express how grateful they are to him, how to tell him that he was their hero. A hero to them and everyone around them.

Training Ground Omega

After changing into their hero suits, both classes head on over to a wooded training area. Training Ground Omega. Looking at all 41 hero students, most of them have kept the same costumes with only small modifications. The biggest change to their costume is Momo, making her costume less exposed with only her back, forearms, and thighs exposed. Izuku didn't change much of his costume, keeping the look of costume Zeta with the only change to it is his new metal respirator that he keeps on the entire time. After all the students arrive, Aizawa and Vlad get their attention.

"Alright, listen up maggots!" Vlad shouts, annoying Aizawa on purpose.

"I know that it's almost time to graduate, so from now on we will up the training for both classes. From now on, we'll be training together everyday." Aizawa surprises them. Thinking that the two classes would give at least a little push back, he was surprised with several cheers.

"That being said, today's joint exercise is going to be 'Capture The Flag'." Aizawa informs them. "Each round will have two teams of four, each one starting at the opposite side of Ground Omega. First team to reach and capture the flag wins. Combat against the opposing team is allowed but no fatal hits." Aizawa says, looking at Bakugo from the side.

"Oi!" Katsuki shouts. Izuku tries to hold in his laugh as Katsuki glares at him.

"Each team has been decided already so no whining. Each team will have two students from each class. Here are the teams." Vlad tells them as he activates the hologram. Izuku looks for his name and finds it on team 1 with Momo, Itsuka, and Monoma as his teammates.

"A solid team." Izuku thinks, turning his head towards Momo. He gives her a smile, which she returns with a blush.

"Alright, the first two teams are Team 1 and Team 3. The rest of you will join up in the observation room. Let's go." Aizawa orders. Izuku looks up and sees that the opposing team consists of Katsuki, Mashirao Ojiro, Togaru Kamakiri and Pony Tsunotori.

Team 1, West Entrance

Izuku and his team arrive at the west entrance of Training Ground Omega and quickly begin to scout their surroundings. Izuku stays behind the team as he checks his suit, making sure that his airforce gloves are on properly as is his respirator. As he's lost in thought, a tap to the shoulder takes his attention away. Looking to his right, he finds Neito with a look of worry.

"Are you alright, Izuku?" Neito asks, receiving a nod from Izuku.

"I'm fine, just a little tired." Izuku assures him, feeling guilty for lying to his friend.

"If you're sure then alright. I was gonna ask if we can get your input since I think our team is made up of the smartest people in class." Neito asks. Izuku nods as they both catch up to a whispering Momo and Itsuka.

"Nice of you two to help form a plan." Itsuka teases them, putting her hand on her hip.

"Sorry, I had to get Izuku away from cloud watching." Neito jokes, causing Izuku to slightly blush. Izuku coughs into his hand and begins to talk.

"Anyways, I think we all know the obvious thing that team 3 will do." All three of his teammates nod their heads.

"Katsuki will surely head right for you." Momo answers, giggling a little.

"Right, so I'll take the initiative and go after him first and hold him and his team for as long as I can." Izuku informs them, rubbing the sleep that is trying to take over. Momo and Itsuka look at him with worry.

Ever since the war, Momo has noticed that Izuku has been pushing and overworking himself everyday. There are some nights that Momo has found Izuku outside, passed out with bloody fists and shins. Izuku never remembers because he's too tired but she brings him inside every time so he won't get sick.

"If you're okay with it then it's fine, but if you need help don't hesitate to call for us." Itsuka reluctantly agrees.

"Alright, it's time to begin the first match! Begin!" Vlad yells through the speaker.

"Alright, let's go!" Izuku says.

"Right!' Momo, Neito and Itsuka respond.

"One for All: Full Cowling 50%!" Izuku thinks, his body surrounded by his signature green lightning. Launching himself into the air, he quickly activates 'Float' and starts flying towards the East entrance of Training Ground Omega.

"He's seriously OP." Neito jokely pouts.

"Let's just try and find the flag. I don't like the idea of Izuku taking on the other team by himself." Itsuka orders as the three run into the forest. "Momo, do you think you can make some drones to locate the flag?"

"Of course!" Momo responds, her mind clouded with worry for Izuku. Her forearms begin to glow as two small drones appear from each arm. Throwing them into the air, Momo creates a remote and connects her hero phone to the controller.

"Alright, I got eyes on the flag. If we continue going this direction then we should arrive in no time." Momo informs her team.

"Perfect!" Itsuka cheers as Neito smirks.

With Izuku

After the teams separated, Izuku quickly made his way towards the opposite side of the training ground. Continuing to use 'Float', Izuku stops in mid-air. Closing his eyes, Izuku's head tingles as 'Danger Sense' warns him of an incoming attack.

"AP SHOT" Izuku opens his eyes in time to see several small explosions coming his way. Izuku smirks as he easily dodges but fails to notice someone behind him. Turning around, he's met with Pony's smiling face.

"THUNDER HORN!" Pony yells, managing to grab Izuku by his arm with her horns. Pony's horns send him plummeting to the ground. Izuku's body hits the ground, creating a large crater around him.

"You didn't think I'd still do the same old thing again, Izuku?" Katsuki's confident voice says. Izuku looks up and sees Katsuki with Ojiro and Togaru. "Alright Horns, go ahead and get the flag. We got this!" Katsuki yells out, getting a nod from Pony as she uses her horns to fly away.

"Bug, go with her as back up." Katsuki orders.

"The names Togaru Kamakiri!" Togaru yells out, heading towards the same direction as Pony. As he takes two steps, Togaru stops as Izuku laughs. Turning around, he sees Izuku's lightning begin to grow more erratic.

"This did surprise me, Katsuki. Although, you'll need to try better." Izuku smirks, looking straight up. Using 50%, Izuku breaks out of Pony's horns as he spins his body and smiles.

"OKLAHOMA SMASH!" Izuku yells as his body begins to spin at rapid speed, creating a growing vortex.

"Get out of here, Kamakiri!" Ojiro yells, the vortex sucking him in. Togaru barely takes a step but is also sucked into the vortex. Katsuki tries his best, firing explosions from his hands but is slowly getting sucked in.

"Alright, that's enough. Eat this, Deku!" Katsuki grunts as he lets himself get sucked in, turning his body towards the vortex and pulling the pin from his gauntlet. Also his gauntlets aren't filled up to their max, the explosion is enough to disperse the vortex. "Bug! Ojiro! Get going and help Horns! I got this!" Katsuki watches the two nod as they start running into the forest.

"Guess it's just you and me, Katsuki." Izuku grunts, dusting himself off.

"Guess it is, Izuku." Katsuki smirks, his hands twitching with excitement.

With Team 1

As the team runs through the forest, they begin to feel gusts of wind coming from the east. The three take a moment to adjust themselves to the pressure of the wind before continuing on.

"Guess Izuku isn't holding anything back." Neito nervously says.

"When it comes to Katsuki, Izuku always gives it everything he's got." Momo replies.

Just as the team gets back on track, Momo's drone begins to sound an alarm. Mom looks at her screen, seeing a blur fly by. Momo looks around and hears the tree's leaves and branches make noises.

"We've got company!" Momo yells, just in time as several horns begin to come from every direction. Neito touches Momo's hand as Momo creates a large shield. Neito uses 'Creation' as well and makes two more shields, handing one to Itsuka. The three then create a dome like shield around them to block the horns.

"Sorry, but I can't let you pass." Pony shouts as she continues to shoot horns at them.

"I can't believe how good her Japanese is." Momo grunts, continuing to hold her shield up.

"You can thank her boyfriend over here!" Itsuka yells out, not noticing Neito glare at her. Just then out of the bushes Ojiro and Togaru jump out, both spinning towards team 1.

"TORNADO TAIL DANCE!"

"RAZOR SPIN!"

Both attacks manage to land as Momo and Neito both lose their shields. Both teams stand across from each other. Just as both teams are about to engage, a loud boom takes their attention away.

"THIS EXERCISE IS OVER! BOTH TEAMS REPORT BACK TO THE ENTRANCE GATE!" Both teams hear the panic in Aizawa's voice. Momo and Itsuka both nod as they run towards Izuku's direction.

With Izuku (Few Minutes Earlier)

The intense battle between childhood friends continues. Katsuki continues to fire off AP Shots while Izuku disperses them with Air Force. Izuku dodges Katsuki's latest attack as he unleashes several 'Black Whip' strands, attempting to capture Katsuki.

"You've gotten pretty good with those things." Katsuki yells, dodging the last of the strands.

"It's all thanks to the training you helped with. Also with Aizawa's and Hanta's help." Izuku replies, retracting 'Black Whip' back to him. "It's been a while since we've actually fought against each other, hasn't it Katsuki."

"Yeah, it has. How about we finish this quickly? One shot?" Katsuki offers. Izuku raises an eyebrow, giving Katsuki a smirk.

"Sure, if you can handle it." Izuku teases. Katsuki smiles as his hands begin to spark. "Ready?" Izuku nods in response, using 'One for All' at 45%. Both then launch themselves into the air, heading straight towards each other. As the two get closer, Katsuki begins to pull his arm back with his hand beginning to heat up. Izuku pulls his arm back as well but just before he could unleash his attack, his vision begins to blur as Katsuki's form changes as Shigaraki appears before him.

"STUN GRENADE!" Katsuki fires off his attack, not realizing that Izuku froze mid attack. Izuku's body is engulfed by the attack, taking it head on. Katsuki's eyes widen as his attack engulfs his best friend.

The dust from his attack blocks his vision as he falls back down to the ground. As the dust begins to clear up, Katsuki looks over and finds Izuku on the ground, unconscious.

"THIS EXERCISE IS OVER! BOTH TEAMS REPORT BACK TO THE ENTRANCE GATE!" Aizawa announces.

"Izuku!" Katsuki yells, running towards his unconscious friend. Reaching Izuku, Katsuki notices the burn marks from his attack on his face and his burnt suit.

"Izuku!" Katsuki looks up and sees both Itsuka and Momo sprinting towards them. Behind them are also Aizawa and Vlad. Katsuki picks up Izuku and runs towards the rest of them. Momo and Itsuka approach him with worried faces as Momo's eyes begin to tear up.

"What happened!" Vlad asks.

"We were going in for a final attack but he suddenly froze. I couldn't stop in time." Katsuki informs them.

"Alright, let's get him to Recovery Girl. She should be able to heal him." Aizawa orders. Momo wipes a tear as her forearms glow, revealing burn cream and bandages.

"Let me put some on him before we take him." Momo suggests, receiving a nod from Aizawa. Aizawa looks down at Izuku, noticing the dark circles under his eyes. "He's pushing himself too much." Aizawa thinks. Just then, a bright light shines over the group. Aizawa looks up and looks into the light when suddenly three bodies begin to fall from the sky. Aizawa quickly pushes his students away before they're hit.

The three individuals land on the ground, unconscious. Aizawa walks over to them and looks them over. On the ground are two teen boys and a teen girl but that's not what surprises him. It's the fact that they look really familiar, like he's seen them before.

"I feel like this has something to do with the problem child." Aizawa thinks to himself.

Somewhere in a forest in China

In a small ministry in a forest in China, a bald man sits in the middle of a room. Surrounding him are several candles as he mediates, not moving an inch. As he breathes steadily, a voice begins to ring in his head that sounds just like him.

"Shino…SHINO!" The man, Shino Royichi, opens his eyes. He looks around when suddenly his head begins to pound. Memories begin to rush through his head, seeing these humanoid creatures, destroying cities.

"Now is the town." The voice repeats, over and over. Just as suddenly, the pounding stops as he takes a breath. Opening his eyes, Shino smiles as the voice whispers once again. "It's time to gather the others."

I don't know how many chapters this story will have but I hope you all like it and leave a review. Originally I was going to have pro-heroes as his wives as well but I only have 1 as his wife now.
