HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! And welcome to the first update from me of 2025! Here's hoping everyone will have a great year to look back on, but let's not get ahead of ourselves. The year has only just begun.
Disclaimer: I do not own God of War or Percy Jackson and the Olympians.
The moment Artemis reappeared, she found herself in her cabin with her Hunters already gathered. The second they saw their patron, they began asking question after question until Artemis raised her hand for silence, quietening them.
"Girls, if you give me a chance to talk." She remarked with a sigh, feeling tense and on edge with the fate of her brother unknown after what she saw. She knew he was alive thanks to the note, but how long until that changed? How long until... more parts of him were sent to the Gods?
Zoe stepped forward, her expression shifting to concern as she saw her patron's expression. "Lady Artemis, what happened at the meeting?"
Artemis sighed, sitting on one of the beds. "Apollo has been captured by the Titans." She revealed, swallowing as she remembered seeing which part of Apollo had been sent to them as proof. Gods, the pain her younger twin must be going through...
'Is that not the pain you've caused onto other men? Some mere boys in their teen years? Too young to suffer such a fate.' A voice said mockingly in her mind, sounding suspiciously like Kallisto. She almost flinched, as she had castrated a few men in her lifetime, some of them teenage boys who had been unfortunate enough to just stumble across her camp.
And once again, Jakob Thorsson's words plagued her.
She quickly shook that away and focused on the present. "I don't know how or who specifically captured him, only that they have a very strong grudge against the Olympians. They had sent a message for Hermes to deliver, along with…part of Apollo, to show they did have him as their prisoner."
"Then we'll prepare immediately to find Lord Apollo." Zoe stated with the rest of the Hunters nodding in agreement, wanting to help save their mistress's brother, only for Artemis to shake her head with a scowl.
"I cannot leave the camp. Lord Zeus has ordered me to remain here to watch the Son of Thor. He's convinced the Aesir are behind this. However, Athena managed to somewhat convince him to consider the Titans are responsible." Artemis said with a frustrated exhale. If it wasn't for her father's command, she would've been searching for Apollo right now. "So, he has ordered me to send a team of Hunters to track and find Apollo instead."
"We won't fail, milady." Zoe said firmly, earning nods from the rest of the Hunters who all had determined looks on their faces.
Apollo may not be one liked by the Hunters due to him constantly flirting with them every time he appears at their camp, but he was their patron's brother and equal to her in terms of power.
"I know many of you would wish to offer your help, but this won't be like any previous hunts you've been on. Whoever was able to capture Apollo not only was able to overpower him, but permanently injure him as well given the part they sent with their message. So, I'll only be sending a small team of the oldest and most skilled among you. Zoe, Phoebe, Parthenos, Naomi, Hunter and Iphigenia, you six will be going to find out where Apollo is and who took him. Be careful and do not take any unnecessary risks." Artemis said, looking at the six Hunters, with all of them stepping forward.
"We won't fail you, M'lady. We'll do our best to locate Lord Apollo and see him safely returned." Said Zoe, making the Moon Goddess smile.
"I know you will, but please if things become too dangerous then save yourselves. And here, should you need me, break this and I'll appear." Said Artemis, holding out her hand before creating an arrow made of pure silver, refusing to take any chances and make sure her Hunters had a way to summon her if things became too dangerous.
With Zoe taking it and placing it in her quiver, giving Artemis a nod.
Artemis returned the nod, smiling at each of her Hunters, who she thought of as her own daughters. She had faith in them that they would find Apollo and rescue him from the Titans.
"Is it just me or are there a few Hunters missing? And Artemis seems very worried about something." Bianca mentioned as she sat with her brother and Jakob at the Hades table, seeing that Artemis and her Hunters were all tense.
Jakob look over and hummed. "Seems the Princess is also gone." he noted before shrugging. "None of our concern, anyway."
"I wouldn't put it to the side so quickly, brother." Mimir piped in, drawing Jakob's attention to the head. "Artemis seems tense about something, anxious. I doubt there's much that could make her look that way."
Jakob hummed in contemplating, idly agreeing but he didn't really care much. It didn't affect him and his friends, so unless it was an issue that directly involved him in some way or he was brought into it through annoying means (Because the Norns love annoying him) then he didn't care.
Before he saw Andromeda, Annabeth, Thalia and Silena coming over, with Bianca and Nico noticing as well when the three girls arrived at their table. Though none of them made any attempt to sit down, feeling worried something would happen if they did.
"You can sit down if you want. We don't mind." Bianca said, with Nico nodding in agreement, neither of the minding if they sat at their table.
With this helping the girls relax before hesitantly sitting down, only fully relaxing when nothing bad happened before they looked at Jakob.
"Remember, despite his reputation, Hades is one of the more mellow gods. As long as we don't mind you sitting with us, Nico and Bianca especially, he won't mind either. Though, I'm guessing you all have some more questions." Jakob stated, seeing the gleam in Annabeth's eyes he recognized whenever she had more questions, along with the curiosity in Thalia's, Andromeda's and Silena's eyes.
"Yes. We want to know more about the other Pantheons." Said Annabeth, eager to learn more about the other Pantheons.
"We also want to know more about the Norse too." Thalia added, wanting to know what else there is to know about the Norse Pantheon.
"Along with anyone else you know about the Supernatural World." Silena said, curious to know if there's anything else he knew about, besides other Pantheons.
"I want to hear more stories from Mimir." Andromeda said, eager to hear more from the 'Smartest Man Alive'.
"Count me in for that." Katie said as she slid into view and sat beside Silena, the two sharing a smile as they sat close to their boyfriend.
Jakob looked at them, seeing the curiosity and interest, glancing at Bianca and Nico to see they were now just as interested to learn more as well. Making the redhead sigh before nodding in response.
"Okay, let's start with the Norse one. What do you want to know?" Jakob asked, figuring they should start with the Pantheon he's from.
"What can you tell us about your family?" Katie asked curiously.
"That depends on who you want to know." Mimir pointed out. "Thor's his dad, Odin's his grandfather-"
"I mean the rest, not just those two." Katie chuckled.
"Well, there's my uncle Baldur as you know." Jakob said, getting nods from them. "There's also my other uncles, Heimdall and Týr. Baldur is the one I've interacted with the most, Heimdall I tended to avoid every time I saw him in Odin's lodge."
"I thought Odin had a palace?" Silena asked with a small frown.
Jakob chuckled. "That's just what mortals believe. No, beyond the Wall of Asgard lies a rather nice-looking village, with the Great Lodge at the very front."
"But it's easy to misunderstand." Mimir added. "You'd think a man like Odin, King of the Aesir, would live in a palace. But that most comes from mortals watching the Marvel version. Anyway, who shall we start with?"
"Baldur." Annabeth said.
Jakob hummed. "Well, uncle Baldur is... insane. He's completely, utterly insane."
"Isn't Baldur supposed to be the God of Light and Peace? How can a God of Peace be insane?" Silena asked, confused at how that worked.
"He's also the one that's immune to any form of damage and injury, right. No matter what he can never be harmed." Annabeth added, with Jakob nodding in response.
"That's right, no matter what you do to him he doesn't feel pain or exhaustion, he could fight endlessly without slowing down. Even if you stab him right through the chest and head, he'll just get back up. The most you could do is daze and incapacitate him, but only for a short time. But that's also the reason he was driven insane." Replied Jakob, confusing the demigods.
"Why would that drive him insane? It sounds pretty good, not needing to worry about any injury or getting exhausted." Katie said, not seeing a downside to a power like that.
"You'd think that wouldn't you, that being immune to pain and exhaustion would be a blessing. But the truth is, Baldur literally can't feel anything, he can't feel anything he touches, can't taste anything, can't smell anything. He could walk around completely naked in subzero temperatures and not feel so much as a chill, the same if he walked through molten magma. He can't taste anything he eats or drinks, it'd be no different than trying to eat air. And he feels nothing at all, pain or pleasure, nothing, you could put a hand on him and he'd only notice after looking. Imagine living for thousands of years without the ability to feel, taste, or smell anything, not even the ground you walk on." Jakob said, with the demigods paling a little at thinking of such an existence.
"Okay…starting to see why he went insane." Said Bianca, knowing a life like that would be nothing but torture to feel nothing at all, as the others nodded in agreement.
"Who would make a curse like that? And what did he do to have it placed on him?" Andromeda asked, thinking whoever made Baldur invulnerable did it to curse him to live with the inability to feel.
"It was his mother, right. Frigg." Annabeth said, having read just how and who gave Baldur his invulnerability.
"His mom did that to him?! Why?!" Said Thalia in disbelief that Baldur's own mother would do that to her own son.
"First off, there's no goddess named Frigg. That's more of a pet name, you see, for Freya." Mimir explained. "it means "Beloved", something Odin called Freya after they wed. Out of affection at first, or so I like to believe. As things turned sour, it became a way to manipulate the truth."
"How so?" Andromeda asked curiously.
"Odin didn't want Freya, a Vanir Goddess, taking credit for anything in Asgard. So anything worthy she accomplished was attributed to Frigg. Such as Frigg being Baldur's mother, when it's really Freya." Mimir explained.
"But why do that?" Selina frowned.
"Out of spite followed their seperation." Mimir said with a guilty sigh. "Oh, I wish I could've offered a different way to brokering peace between the Aesir and Vanir."
"What?" Annabeth leaned forward.
"A story for another time." Jakob cut in, knowing Mimir was still guilty over that issue. "As Mimir said, Freya was really Frigg. And as for why Freya put that spell on him was because of a prophecy that told her Baldur would die a needless death. Baldur was the one thing she treasured from her marriage to Odin. So, to prevent his death, she cast a spell on Baldur where he would never feel pain again but in doing so she removed his ability to feel anything at all.
"Still…that she did that to her own son." Said Annabeth, shaking her head while Jakob shrugged.
"She was a mother that loved her son enough she'd do anything to ensure he would never die. But sometimes the things parents do out of love are also out of selfishness. She refused to lose her only child, even if that meant cursing him to live without ever being able to feel anything again." Jakob said, knowing what Freya did was unnecessarily cruel, but also understood why she'd do anything to protect her child.
"You said Baldur was the only good thing Freya had from her marriage to Odin. Does that mean she didn't want to marry him at all?" Silena asked, getting curious looks from the others.
"And thus we're back to this topic." Mimir sighed. "This all goes back to the Long War between the Aesir and Vanir. Prior to that, wars for the Aesir were easily won, but the Vanir had proved their equal and exacted devastating damage. Both sides suffered tremendous losses and for many of us, quite frankly, war was simply no fun anymore, but a rather senseless waste of precious life. Enough was enough, and at last, Odin's most brilliant adviser became determined to find a more enlightened path. He set about to broker a peace between the Gods. It took some convincing, but ultimately Odin was convinced to marry his deadliest enemy. A certain Vanir Goddess, legendary not only for her fertile beauty but her genius at the very Vanir magic that Odin had long aspired to master."
"Freya married Odin? What was in it for her?" Katie asked.
"It was a sacrifice to protect her people, a selfless act of love. Truly, she deserves better than she got but of course there's more to that story." Mimir sighed.
"Odin hoarded any knowledge he could find. Why?" Bianca asked with a confused frown.
"Control. The one thing Odin wants above all else is the ability to control his own fate, which is why he's obsessed with Ragnarök and learning how it can be prevented to avoid his own fated death. But it's not just his own fate he wants to control, he wants to control everyone and every realm, to truly be "all-knowing and all-seeing". But his desire for control also makes him afraid and paranoid of anything and everything that could prove to be the slightest threat to his rule. Though it's at least tempered by his desire for knowledge, making it so he acts more subtle in eliminating threats rather than just outright destroying them. I think the best way to describe him is that he's like a mafia boss, he prefers manipulating people, making them believe everything they do is their own choice. Making you believe you can do whatever you want when he's really the one pulling the strings, while simply giving subtle threats to remind them he's the one in charge." Jakob explained, with the demigods frowning at this.
"He sounds like an as-jerk! He sounds like a jerk!" Said Nico, quickly stopping himself when he saw Bianca narrow her eyes at him.
"That's putting it mildly." Said Thalia with a frown, already not liking Odin from the way Jakob describes him.
"Yeah, he's…he's much worse than you could imagine." Jakob said while frowning, making the others look at him, wondering just how much worse Odin could be even after everything he told them.
"What about your other uncles, Heimdall and Týr?" Bianca asked, interested to hear about his other uncles.
"Heimdall! There's a name I don't miss hearing." Mimir spat with disgust.
"Heimdall, I went out of my way to avoid, not only because he's a true believer in Odin and willingly following any of his orders without question. But mostly because he's a cocky, condescending, arrogant bastard that you just want to strangle." Jakob replied, scowling at just the thought about Heimdall.
"That bad, huh." Annabeth stated, imagining Heimdall was like the Ares' Cabin members, enjoying antagonizing others and picking fights.
"He's much worse. He's the God of Foresight, Foreknowledge, and Surveillance, which made him a good choice as Watchman of the Aesir and Herald of Ragnarök. But it's his Foresight ability that makes him cocky, all he has to do is look into someone's eyes and he'll instantly know any move they're about to make before they even make it, even being able to read someone's mind and thoughts. He can also move faster than anyone can react, helping him in dodging any attacks. Both of these abilities have made it so he's never been hit at all, which also makes it so people usually want to hit him with how he enjoys antagonizing others." Mimir explained.
"…Yeah, I'd definitely want to strangle this asshole too." Said Thalia, knowing if she ever met Heimdall she'd want to strangle him if he so much as smirked,
"Take a number, there's a long line of people that want to." Jakob said, knowing plenty of people hate Heimdall for his abilities and arrogance.
"And what about Týr?" Questioned Silena, wanting to know what his last uncle, though figured he's just as bad as the rest of his family is made out to be.
"That's the Norse God of War right. What's he like?" Annabeth asked, as Jakob had once mentioned the Norse God of War to be the opposite of Ares.
"Another time. Since I need to relax after talking about my family, so much." Said Jakob, needing to relax and calm down after talking about his family and all the memories it brought up.
With the demigods nodding in understanding before they switched to making small talk with each other and finishing their lunch.
Jakob grunted as he parried Thalia's spear with the Leviathan Axe, then quickly switched to the Blades of Chaos and swung them out which Thalia leaned back Matrix-style to avoid or else she would've been served in two. Straightening up, she thrusted her spear at the son of Thor while shooting lightning through it, hitting Jakob's chest which knocked him back a couple of feet.
The two lightning-wielding demigods were in the arena, having another spar, with their only audience being their friends who were watching as Jakob was looking to spar with them individually in order to see how well their combat skills have developed since he began training them. He was aware that their powers had grown stronger, but one must not use that like a crutch in combat.
Switching back to the Leviathan Axe, Jakob threw the weapon at Thalia but she uickly rolled to the side then launched her spear at Jakob, hoping the peed of it caught him off guard. But to her annoyance, he caught the spear and recalled the Leviathan Axe to him.
"And now you have no weapon." He said, tossing the spear back to her, while she scowled.
"it's not like I can recall my weapon to me just by opening my hand." The Daughter of Zeus huffed, panting a little as they've been at it for the past hour and a half. "It's so unfair that your weapon can do that. Is that a thing with Aesir, or is it just something mortals got right when they made Marvel Thor?"
"As far as I know, only my Axe, Mjölnir and Ingrid have been able to do that." Jakob said, ignoring her mentioning Marvel's Thor. Seriously, why must everyone mention that inaccurate version of his father? "But this Axe and my father's hammer were most likely crafted and forged with that ability... somehow. They were made by Dwarves, and you'd be wasting your time trying to figure out the ways of Dwarves forging weapons. In fact, the same Dwarves who made my father's legendary hammer made this Axe."
"Really?" Thalia asked.
"Yes, the Huldra Brothers, Brok and Sindri. They were relatively unknown blacksmiths until they created Mjölnir. After that, they became known as some of the best smiths in the Nine Realms since their first creation was used to cause a genocide of the Giants, not to mention every other atrocity my father committed with that hammer. Something that lead them to try and right their wrong of creating Mjölnir by creating a weapon that would rival it. The Leviathan Axe." Jakob said, looking at his Axe.
"So, that Axe really can rival a god's weapon." Stated Thalia as she looked at the axe with a gleam in her eye, wishing she had a weapon like that.
"Supposedly, but like I said before I wasn't eager to test out if it was true or not." Replied Jakob, only knowing what Loki told him about the Axe and its origin.
Though the Son of Thor felt there may come a time he'll see if it really can stand against Mjölnir.
"Also, you're getting a gleam in your eyes." Jakob added while glancing at the Daughter of Zeus, making Thalia pause before cursing and shaking her head.
"Damnit. Sorry, I…have problems when it comes to power." Thalia said, knowing her Fatal Flaw was a desire for power and having a weak resistance whenever it's offered to her. It happened when seeing Jakob's strength and power, and it happened to be quite a turn on for her.
Didn't help with her own feelings for him added to the mix.
"It's fine. Our Fatal Flaws can be dangerous if we give into them. We must control it, learn to resist it." Jakob advised, getting a nod from Thalia before she looked curious.
"What's your Flaw?" She asked, making Jakob chuckle.
"What makes you think I have one?" He rose a brow.
Thalia crossed her arms. "Every demigod has won. Why should another pantheon's demigods be without one?"
Jakob hummed. "Very true. I guess... my rage would have to be mine."
"Rage?" Thalia frowned. "You don't look like the type to be all rage filled like some kid of Ares."
Jakob chuckled darkly. "My father is the biggest butchering bastard in the Nine Realms, Thalia. His bloodlust is for the fight itself. And trust me, there are some things that pass on from father to son. And with how I was raised... don't think I don't have a dark side. Believe me, there is a monster within that I struggle to keep caged every time I'm in a fight."
Thalia was silent for a few seconds, putting her spear and shield away. "…My…mother, she was an actress and always wanted to be the center of attention. Even before I was born she was an alcoholic, performing stunts to make sure she was always in the tabloids. Then…she got her "ultimate achievement" in attracting the King of the Gods, but then he left since I was born and gods can't stick around once they have children. She got worse as a result, drinking more, doing stupider stunts, it all ruined her life as well as her career, and I couldn't stand her. She could barely take care of herself, let alone me. But then…my dad came back when I was seven and she started getting better, loving the attention she got, he even acted like a father to me, but was pretty strict and kept speaking Latin all the time. Though…it didn't last when they had another kid, my little brother, Jason." Thalia explained, making Jakob look at her in surprise.
"Jason... you mentioned him before. He's your brother?" He asked.
"Yes." Thalia sat down and pulled her legs to her chest, with Jakob sitting down beside her. "After our dad left again, that woman became even more unstable, ranting and raving, blaming Hera for the monsters always coming after us and claiming she was coming after Jason next. I honestly didn't know if I believed her or not, I only stayed since I didn't trust her to look after Jason. Then, when Jason was two, we all went on a picnic and…that woman sent me to get the basket from the car. When I got back…I found her crying and saying…that Jason was as good as dead. She had to drag me back to the car kicking and screaming, since I thought she finally lost her mind, and tried to find Jason. After that, I finally had enough and ran away, having no idea where I was going. Only that I would be away from that woman. I was twelve when I first met Luke, Annabeth and Grover, and you know what happened after that. Monster army, turned into a tree for five years, now I'm back." Said Thalia, shaking her head at remembering her life before running away.
"Did you try confronting her after being freed from the tree?" Questioned Jakob, figuring she'd want to at least find out what happened to her mother.
"I tried, I honestly have no idea what I was expecting or what I would do when I saw her. If she was still the same, if she felt guilty for what she did. Hell, if she even remembered she had kids. But…when I got to Pasadena, I learned she died two years ago, driving while she was drunk, which I guess proved she didn't change at all." Thalia replied, not even sure what she would've done if her mother was still alive.
"Sorry to hear that." Jakob said, only for the ravenette to shake her head.
"Don't be, she had years to get help and try to be a mother, but all she cared about was being in the spotlight." Said Thalia, only feeling sad she never got the truth of what that woman did to Jason.
"…Probably a random question, but what exactly did your father act like before your brother was born?" Asked Jakob, looking at the ravenette, who looked at him in confusion.
"Uh…like I said he was strict and spoke Latin more than English, along with being pretty stern. The most surprising was he acted more like a parent than I thought he would. Why?" Thalia asked, wondering why he'd ask something like that, while Naruto nodded in response.
"That wasn't Zeus. then, at least not the one you all know. That was his Roman-self, Jupiter." Jakob revealed, making Thalia's eyes widen in shock.
"What?!" Said Thalia, not understanding what he just said.
"Yeah. It happened back in ancient times when Rome invaded Greece and took everything, they also took their gods and made them their own. The Greek Gods also moved to Rome and changed, Artemis became Diana, Hestia became Vesta, Hades became Pluto, and so on. They became more disciplined and militaristic, reflecting Rome's more militaristic nature, but just like their Greek-selves they have demigods." Explained Jakob, much to the Daughter of Zeus's disbelief and anger.
"Seriously?! There are Roman demigods too?! Why haven't we seen any?!" Thalia demanded, not believing that something like this was kept secret.
"Surprisingly there's actually a reason for it beyond Skirt Chaser Sr.'s paranoia. The Greek and Roman demigods used to be aware of each other and had a fierce rivalry, with multiple conflicts over the millennia plus the grudge Athena has against the Romans for stealing her statue, which left her severely weakened as Minerva and less important as a Goddess of War with Bellona being more worshipped. The last conflict they had took place during the American Civil War and from what I've heard, it ended in a lot of dead demigods. Enough died that the gods actually did something and manipulated The Mist, making both sides forget the other existed and that neither could meet each other again." Jakob replied, with Thalia gulping at hearing about the last conflict between Greek and Roman demigods, before her eyes widened.
"So…that means, my brother…Jason, he's a Roman demigod?" Thalia asked, the Asgardian nodded in response.
"Yes. I don't know everything since the Roman Pantheon never really interested me with how formal and disciplined they are, neither of which are really popular among Aesir. But I do know that Roman demigods are left at some place called the Wolf House. Where the goddess Lupa, the same wolf that nursed Romulus and Remus, judges them to see if they're strong enough to be trained. If they are, then she welcomes them as her pups before sending them off to the Roman camp to be trained as Legionnaires." Said Jakob, while the ravenette felt as if a massive weight was lifted off her shoulders.
"Then…he's still alive, somewhere." Said Thalia, feeling complete relief at knowing what happened to her brother, that he wasn't dead and was at some Roman demigod camp.
"Most likely, given he's a child of the Big Three. He would've had enough natural strength to be sent there. But…I don't know where it is, just that like Camp Half-Blood, it's somewhere in America. Sorry." Jakob said, only for Thalia to shake her head.
"Don't be, this…this is more than I could've hoped to know. I'm just…happy and relieved knowing Jason is alive." Thalia said smiling gratefully at the redhead, before surprising them both when she hugged him tightly. "Thank you."
Jakob smiled and hugged her back. "Anytime, Thals."
"If... If I go searching for him, would you-" Thalia started.
"I'll come with and help you find him." Jakob promised, making her smile before she caught him off guard by giving him a kiss on the cheek, just inches from the corner of his lip.
Meanwhile, their audience, who had been watching, reacted as you'd think.
Silena and Katie smirking at seeing Thalia finally making a move. Annabeth, Andromeda and Bianca frowning in jealousy. Nico snickering until Bianca smacked his shoulder.
Artemis couldn't help tap her foot nervously while watching her Hunters train, having been unable to think about anything but the Hunters she sent out to find her brother several days ago. Worried about where they were right now, what they were facing, if they had managed to find where Apollo was. Not even counting the condition her brother was in at the moment, and who were the ones that attacked him.
Having tried thinking of who it could've been, going over all the potential enemies of Olympus that would use aliases like "the Lion, the Witch and the Bear". Only to find no one she could think of that would be powerful enough to capture and injure her twin. Which only worried her more, as the only thing she knew is they were connected to the Greek Pantheon. Given how they all seemed to hold personal grudges against her, Aphrodite, Zeus and Hera.
Which unfortunately did nothing to narrow down the list of suspects as Artemis was well aware those three each had rather long lists of people that'd want to see them suffer. And after everything Jakob threw in her face, the Moon Goddess couldn't deny she's made her own enemies with her past actions.
It'd honestly be easier to count those who didn't have grudges against them, and that also unfortunately was a much shorter list.
"Lady Artemis!"
Artemis was suddenly pulled from her thoughts at hearing her name, before looking to see one of her brother's daughters running towards her with a panicked expression.
"What is it?" Artemis asked, her concern only growing at her expression.
"W-we…we found a Hunter at the border! Sh-she…she looked like she was barely alive! We took her to the infirmary, Will and Chiron are doing everything they can to help, but…it's really bad!" Said the girl, which also got the rest of the Hunters attention feeling concerned and worries one of their sisters were hurt.
While Artemis paled in fear and panic that one of her daughters was back, and if it's one from the group she sent out and only one came back. It only made her worry turn into fear at what could've happened to the rest of them.
"All of you stay here!" Artemis ordered her Hunters, not wanting any of them to see one of their sisters in any life-threatening condition.
Not waiting another second, Artemis immediately teleported straight to the Big House infirmary to check on her Hunter. Only to soon wish she hadn't when she saw Will and Chiron working quickly to help the Hunter.
"Z-Zo-Z-Z…Zoe." Artemis mutter numbly in shock and horror at the sight of her lieutenant, while Chiron and Will only gave her a quick glance before continuing their work.
With her clothes looking like they had been ripped to shreds and dyed completely red with blood while her entire body was covered in claw marks, ones Artemis could tell came from a bear. But also ones that showed she had been slashed with a knife or a dagger. As well as smaller wounds she knew could only be made from arrows.
The goddess also saw how Zoe's arms had both been broken at her wrists and elbows, choking slightly at seeing whoever did this even seemed to taken the time to snap every one of her fingers. While seeing her legs weren't in any better condition either, looking like they'd been trampled.
"Wh-wha-what…what happened?" Artemis asked, wanting to know how this could've happened to her lieutenant.
"Will, can you handle this for a few moments?!" Chiron asked, knowing he needed to tell Artemis what they found.
"Yeah, just hurry Chiron!" Said Will, honestly not sure if they'll even be able to keep Zoe alive or how long they'll be able to.
Nodding at the Son of Apollo, Chiron turned to Artemis and winced at her expression, seeing how lost and devastated she looked.
"H-ho-how?" Muttered Artemis, looking at Chiron with the centaur sighing.
"We…we don't know, only that the last patrol found Zoe on the ground just outside the border. They rushed her back here as quickly as they could. But…Lady Artemis, they didn't just find Zoe." Chiron said, making the goddess look at him desperately to know if the Hunters she sent were still alive.
Chiron merely lead to her a door and opened, with Artemis choking as tears filled her eyes at seeing five bodies covered in burial shrouds, all of them stained with blood. Though when she tried going to see the state her Hunters were in, Chiron stopped her.
"Let me see them! I need to see what was done to my daughters!" Demanded Artemis, glaring at the Trainer of Heroes, only for Chiron to give her a stern and solemn look.
"There are some things that not even gods should witness." Chiron said, not wanting her to see what was done to the Hunters that were already dead.
The centaur wasn't even sure if any monster could do such a thing, knowing even the torment of Tartarus would be preferable to seeing something so…Chiron honestly wasn't sure any word could describe it.
Artemis could only shudder and look at the bodies, wondering just who could've done something so horrible that she couldn't even see them. She wasn't sure if she even wanted to know.
"There was…also this left with them. It was…stabbed into Zoe's shoulder…with a silver arrow." Said Chiron pulling out a blood-stained folded letter and handing it to the Moon Goddess, before quickly going back over to help Will try and save Zoe.
Artemis looked at the letter numbly, unsure on whether she wanted to see what it had written on it, being able to guess it's another threatening one like that last one sent. Though knowing she needed to, the goddess unfolded it only to see it was just a message, a message written in her Hunters' blood. Only to feel like she was suddenly falling into Chaos itself when she saw what was written.
Your father raped me, you abandoned me, you replaced me, you broke my heart and now…it's time I ripped out yours.
Thanks for returning my circlet.
The Moon Goddess felt as if the world was spinning and crumbling around her at the message, realizing just who had written it, who had killed her Hunters. Thinking about the circlet she's given to her lieutenants, which hadn't always been the case. Instead she thought about the first person she gave it to, when it was simply a gift to someone she cared for.
"K…Kallisto."
Time to get the quest underway since it's been nearly ten chapters since the start of the Titan's Curse plotline, even with the changes of Apollo being captured, which means his oracle doesn't work so no prophecy is given and timeframe, blah, blah, blah, but now it's time to get the quest underway.
Still, it was needed in order for Jakob to develop his relationship with the girls so far.
Also, I'm thinking of doing more PJO fics featuring Jakob Thorsson, but under different circumstances. Like, I'll have him paired woth only one Goddes, like Artemis or Athena, not sure about how I'll write the Aesir Gods in those stories because I doubt you want retellings of the Aesir from God of War and going through that plotline.
I am also thinking of bringing back A Demigod's Family, which was inspired by the Naruto/Percy Jackson story A Father's Love by Kyoka Suigetsu Totsuka, which is a Naruto/Aphrodite/Athena story. I'd have Jakob paired with Athena and Aphrodite in it, though I was also thinking of adding Artemis.
I'm also thinking of doing a story with Jakob Thorsson, set in ancient Greece. If you'll remember, I had a story featuring my OC Prince of Olympus (Who I hope to bring back some day), living as a mortal and included some ancient greek media from games and movies like Rise of the Argonaunts, the Troy movie, and the God of War games.
Let me know what you think in the reviews about these ideas, leave your own suggestions for plot and all that.
