"Tempting isn't it?"
Gwen Stacy turned to a young Asian girl, an exchange student. Ami Han was the name, long dark wig, radiant skin, and cute doe eyes. She had the same look in her eyes when both girls stared at the unusual (and animalistic-formed) alien.
"I…don't know what you mean by that", Gwen slouched. That lie was so obvious that even a four-year-old wouldn't buy it.
"This dead animal. You know very well that it must be sent to the Avengers or S.H.I.E.L.D., but you're getting weak because you need meat, right now".
"…It's concerning how well you know me; this is only the first time you are with Gwen Stacy".
White Fox scoffed. "I don't know you. Even though I spent more time with Ghost Spider, I know her almost less than Gwen Stacy".
"Then I'm we're stranger besties", Gwen sneered sarcastically. She started walking past the other girl. Ami held her arm out to stop her then she pushed her backwards.
"Look, I may know very little about you, but I do know the one thing we have in common—self-isolation. I'm not stupid, you're going through something, and like me, we're both spending our golden years in grief".
Gwen somehow walked to her inhumanly quick and glared. "You can't possibly understand—"
"I lost my mother at a very young age. I was six years old. And since then, death hasn't stopped making me suffer", Ami spoke in a soft tone. Gwen's gaze started to soften. Her mouth slightly opened in utter shock. This question made her feel like she was confessing this out loud.
"…What? H-how—why?" She stammered. Ami looked down. She inhaled and exhaled while clenching her fists.
"After I lost my mother, I lost almost every other family member…and a friend. So I want to end this but—"
"Death loves you? Why…WHAT KIND OF SICK GAME IS THIS?! YOU DON'T DESERVE THIS $# ^ BECAUSE YOU HAD TO BE RESPONSIBLE RIGHT?" Gwen yelled while crying.
Ami was also pouring tears but looked at Gwen crying with such heartbreak. Either she lost her sanity or somehow she managed to convince her to be vulnerable.
"You are going through the same thing?! I'm so sorry—"
"Don't be, save it for someone you fail to save".
Ami and Gwen were closer than arm's length. They were still tearing their faces but smiling out of feeling. Looking into each other's eyes.
For Ami, she saw a young girl who went through so much and had no one to rely on for mutual understanding.
Death loves you.
Is that what she calls this feeling of tragedy? Judging by seeing her so vulnerable to someone she had met a year ago…she went to just as many funerals. Being vulnerable right now (and unexpectedly) proves that they need each other. They probably should've met sooner.
For Gwen, she was angry and embarrassed that she was crying in front of someone she hadn't known for long. Just looking at Ami, makes her feel idealistic and hope that she won't get hurt because of her. Maybe they should talk, or find somewhere private after the—
"So…you mind telling me if you have the same diet as Venom?" Ami asked after wiping away her tears.
"What…oh! Um…on second thought—"
"I like to go for the heart. Enhances my abilities".
Gwen rolled her eyes. "Funny".
"I'm serious. A Kumiho needs to eat a human heart once in a while".
Gwen chuckled a bit before replying. "I'm half of Venom's biology. I need to eat brains, I usually prefer to chow on chocolate. A much better alternative".
"C'mon, there is chocolate at a store".
"Ami, I forgot to bring cash".
The Kumiho laughed. "You cut class but forgot to carry cash with you?" The young fox walked with the spider (who was dragging the cocooned alien). Gwen's clothes started shifting into her vigilante costume. Ami would be envious of this weird ability, but she only felt positive emotions for her.
