Doc Ock and the rogues had taken Number Six to one of the old factory building in Old Town, where Ock, Vulture, Tinkerer, and Electro had used their skills and any tools and equipment they could find to examine their prisoner and neutralize any tracking devices he had in his uniform or in his body. After that was done Ock had interrogated Number Six with assistance from Electro and Hammerhead, who had experience in that field. Number Six proved to be very tough and resilient at first, but after a few bruises and some electrical shocks and burns he gave some information.
Number Six told them about the Tech Men and their goals, but nothing more about the organization. He did however share information about Jonathan Rook and his secret identity of being Stretch Monster and the Flex Fighters. Ock became interested in this information and he had the Enforcers go out in their civilian clothes along with Tinkerer and go out and purchase a few things from Charter City, which included some tech and food. The four men returned an hour later and Ock and Tinkerer went about setting up some computers in their makeshift lair.
Ock then began to explore this universe's Internet looking up all he could about Rook and his company. The mad scientist scowled at an image of a smiling Rook. The man reminded Ock too much of Norman Osborn. The red hair hair. The confident smirk. He even had a secret identity as a villain!
Ock had heard that Osborn had been revealed to be the villain known as the Green Goblin after his supposed demise. Ock had wanted to do in Osborn himself, but he supposed he could settle for a man from another universe that was similar to Osborn. The villain began to formulate a plan to deal with both the Tech Men.
Elsewhere Peter had taken off his Spider-Man mask, found a clothes donation pin to put on some civilian clothes, and then he located a Internet cafe. Peter was glad to see that this universe used the same kind of money as his own as he got himself a coffee and began to collect information on this universe. He had decided to just search for spider themed hero to see what would pop up and the only thing he found was a popular comic book series called Scarlet Spinner written by a man called Stan Lee. Peter thought that was interesting before he dove into some more serious research about the city he was in.
Peter learned about Jonathan Rook and his company and thought maybe they could help return him to his universe along with the rogues. Rook did remind Peter a little bit of Norman Osborn, but decided the man couldn't be anywhere near as bad as the villain. He then found some articles talking about the Flex Fighters and how they had once been great heroes for the city, before they became villains. Peter studied the articles for a few minutes and thought deeply as he felt a sense deja vu. People who were once heroes were now being considered villains and menaces by a person in high power with a lot of influence and by the public. Peter had a sense that what he had read wasn't entirely true and that there was more going with the Flex Fighters and Rook. He made himself a mental note that if he ever found the Flex Fighters to get their side of the story.
It was then three members of the Stuck Shifts gang stormed into the cafe and demanded the customers money. Peter managed to sneak into a nearby closet and change into his Spider-Man outfit. He crawled out along the ceiling and confronted the robbers by jumping down near them.
"Whoa! I didn't know punk rock was making a comeback!" Said Spider-Man.
"What the?!" Said one robber in surprise.
"It's the Scarlet Spinner!" Yelled another robber.
"Wrong! The names Spider-Man and I'm your friendly neighborhood superhero." Said Spider-Man.
One robber charged at Spider-Man swinging a bat. He swung three times and Spider-Man dodged each of his attacks.
"Three strikes and you're out!" Said Spider-Man before he punched the robber in the gut and sent him flying and crashing into one of the other robbers knocking them to the ground in a heap.
The last robber turned and tried to run away, but Spider-Man shot a web line at him tangling his feet up and causing him to fall flat on his face. Spider-Man reeled him in and webbed the robber up along with his two friends. He then placed one of his little business cards on the tied up goons. The crowd cheered as Spider-Man did a little bow and then he left the cafe and webbed swing away from the scene.
To be continued.
