Holaaa everyone! I'm so sorry for not responding to any messages or reviews. My school/job life took over and I was literally stressed to the max. I'm finally on my vacation/winter break so I get the chance to relax. YEEHAW. I'm also pretty sure I've had some stuffiness/mucus since October. But oh well, I'm still alive. (Mostly) But I'm going to drop chapters I've been working on since. Be ready to be spammed. Happy Holidays and in my case, FELIZ NAVIDAD. :D
"Antonia?" The girl turned around to see her mother in the doorway. As soon as she entered her house, she headed straight to her room, hitting the shower. "Yes? Is everything alright?" Arms crossed and a tilted head. "Who were those people that dropped you off?" Antonia climbed on her bed trying to avoid the conversation. "Oh, those were some of my classmates. They invited me out to eat after I finished my project. We actually went to this Mexican restr-" "Who was that boy with the white hair that walked you to the door?" Antonia was sitting crisscross facing the woman. "That was Samuel, my partner for the project." The girl was aware that her parents were going to interrogate her to find out everything about that group of classmates. Janice and some of the other housekeepers were pretending to tidy up the space in the hallway to hear what was going on. "I wasn't expecting him to look like that… When you said that he really wanted to get a good grade on his work I imagined this young manto look civilized. I was thinking he would be dressed nice an-" "Well he looks like some of the friends I have back in London and Auckland. It's not anything new." Antonia's mother sat at the edge of her bed. She could tell something was off about the girl. Antonia looked a bit sad, beginning to miss some of her old companions she had made in the past few years that she had left. "I know but these kids here just seem different. I don't know what it is but I would just stay aware." Antonia and her mother continued talking about how the project went and the restaurant. They talked about her other project that she had to finish, and the girl went to bed. As soon as she heard her mother's footsteps disappear, she knew she was in the clear.
"WHAT?" Nicole squealed as she opened the plastic wrap to her breakfast burrito. "That is so crazy," Jiya murmured sarcastically. The girls were standing outside Mr. Fadel's classroom. Antonia covered her face and caught her breath, "I need you gals to listen to before you go bonkers. Nothing wild happened afterward. I was just dropped off." Nicole looked at her before taking another bite, "Do you think he would've tried to kiss you if it were just you two?" Antonia's eyes were now the size of the moon, "Nicole? Be serious." "I am! I'm asking an honest question." Jiya grinned ather friend, "I think he's trying to get a little action… Buuuuutttt… He might pretend not to know you afterward." They entered the classroom sitting down as Nicole still stood. Antonia pursed her lips together shaking her head, "I'm not that type of girl. Why does everyone think that?" She opened her backpack pulling out her lip gloss. "I'm teasing. Ignore those stupid rumors. They're all started by a bunch of shallow bitches." Mr. Fadel looked at Jiya in surprise. He tilted his head and put a hand on his hip, while Jiya slowly turned to completely face him. "Sorry."
Once she was in her history class Nicole was not at all discrete about the situation. She kept looking back at Samuel and Seymour as they sat closer to the girls in class today. Seymour made funny faces every time they made eye contact but Samuel remained cool. Antonia was irritated that her best friend was poking her and whispering to her the whole class. Once the bell rang, Nicole almost exploded when Samuel chatted with Antonia before leavingthe rest of the day went by very quickly. Students mostly mingled during their classes leaving teachers feeling unmotivated to teach. Antonia was ready for the day to end to see where she would be traveling for the holidays. There was a fight at lunch that made the rest of the day feel crazy. Some teens decided to skip after the last lunch period and headed straight home. Antonia enjoyed doing her word scramble activities and coloring pages with her friends. The group had decided to go to eat dinner together but the girl denied planning to leave home as soon as she got there. Then the last two periods felt dragged out. Students had to make sure that they were completing their work and Antonia was doing her best to finish her work to leave stress-free for the Thanksgiving break. The girl scrolled down the page looking at the bright blue button.

"What? Really?" The girl looked at her father as he smoked his cigar. "Darling, we decided we're not traveling anywhere. There are so many things for you to do here. You have all those girls you hang out with from school." Antonia was in disbelief that her family had not planned a trip to leave for a nice vacation. Her mother walked into the office wearing a floor-length dress. It was a deep chocolate color that shined in the satin fabric that wrapped around her waist. "We are going to a business dinner in about thirty minutes. We don't want you heading out right now. If you get phoned, wait to make plans for tomorrow." She walked up to Antonia's dad giving him a quick peck on the lips. "Lemme show you something." She looked over her shoulder to signal to be followed. Antonia went down the hall and followed her mother to a room glowing with a warm orange light. Her mother turned the lights on, and she was faced with shelves that reached the ceiling. Books lined from wall to wall filled the space, making it feel tight. "Mum..." "Don't Mum me. You can travel anywhere with this, with all of these." She moved her arms around slowly turning in a circle. "You used to love reading and tinkering. It just seems like you're not yourself anymore." Antonia looked at her mother with sadness. "I'm just upset that we keep changing where we live and how we do things. I feel like I don't talk to you and Papa anymore and I'm just so exhaus-" "You can go out and shop with these girls. You can set up dinner or plan to have a gathering here at home. Maybe you can buy stuff on your phone since you are so addicted to it." Antonia gave her mom a sour expression after her sarcastic comment. "Or you could even try having a book club with your friends? Toni, we can do so much it just seems like you're not even trying anymore." The girl thought to herself for a moment. She honestly could buy a bunch of things to keep herself occupied for the moment. She then took a deep breath and got close to the shelf. She grabbed a random book and headed to the kitchen. Her mother went back to finish getting ready and the girl had their personal chef to make her pancakes for dinner. She grabbed a piece of paper from her desk and wrote a few words down.
Stupid things about this book
Starting a bullet list, the girl thought that she was in to destroy this book out of protest for not being spoiled. She opened the book on a random page to reveal a beautiful painting of a woman naked on an island. Her luscious curls blew out of her face as a man was crawling to her feet. He gripped her right calf astears streamed down his face. She flipped the book to its spine reading the title, Odyssey, Homer. "This is that one popular book," her mind filled with thoughts, and she got up returning the glitter gel pen back to her desk. She threw away the piece of paper and read the book until she was ready for bed.
During the break, Antonia was very busy. She set herself a schedule to make sure she was getting some reading done before doing any other activity. This, however, didn't stop her from splurging hundreds of dollars from going on shopping sprees every other day. On Sunday after church, Antonia decided that she was going to visit some museums. Nicole was reluctant to go since she was feeling under the weatherbut Antonia needed the emotions that kept her sane. Afterward, the girls got sushi and finished off their day with frozen yogurt. Samuel texted the girl on Tuesday updating her on huge sales that were available for black Friday. Unfortunately, Antonia had already made plans with some of her friends and told Samuel to put some of the items on hold for her. He did, however, send her a few pictures of albums he thought she would enjoy and decided to get them online. Every now and then she would text him back sending him clothes that people would wear that she thought he would find appealing. He was okay with some of the articles of clothing but appreciated her efforts in trying. Antonia was doing community service the morning of Thanksgiving. She thought that while her family was going to host a boring dinner with her father's and mother's coworkers, she would start her day off doing something good for her community. The goth donated clothes and accessories she wasn't interested in keeping. Spending a good two hours loading cars with grocery bags and turkeys left her exhausted. Samuel texted the girl in celebration of Thanksgiving, and she asked him how his Friendsgiving was going. He sent her a ridiculous photo of William in an inappropriate turkey costume he wore while extremely intoxicated. Their conversations were short but frequent, although it seemed to get longer as the week passed by. Her friends then decided to have a last-minute movie night on Friday. She then spent the weekend reading and writing in her journal. She called a few friends (including Samuel) just to see what they were doing and their plans for the next week.
