This chapter will be based on Day of The Dino Part 1.

Thank you Wolfgirl2013 and Itakecatnaps for your reviews.

Fall 2003

It had been two years since Tommy and Kimberly escaped the island. Shortly after graduating with PhD, he built a house in Reefside. Unknown to everyone else, he and Kimberly built a secret lab in the basement. The only other person who knew was their friend Hayley. Today, Tommy would be starting his teaching career at Reefside High. Tommy parked his jeep in the parking lot. He was dress in a pale red dress shirt, a red tie, green dress pants, and a white lab coat picked up his brief case and headed towards the she school.

"Tommy, wait up!"

Tommy turned around and a pink Sportage car pulled up next to his jeep. He would know that car any where. Kimberly got out of the car and was dressed really nice. She was wearing a sleeveless pink floral dress and a pair of pink t-strap sandals. Kimberly slipped on a white cardigan.

"Hey, Beautiful," Tommy greeted as he adjusted his rectangular glasses.

"Ready to start your first day of teaching?" Kimberly asked.

"Yes, but I nervous," confessed Tommy.

"You're teaching Paleontology to the seniors," Kimberly started as they walked inside. "Science has always been one of your best subjects. You know your materials. You are going to do great!"

As they walked up the stairs to their classrooms, they saw a woman in a tan khaki pantsuit following them. She had black hair and wore black plastic rectangular glasses.

" Dr. Oliver, Ms. Hart, I'm principal Randall," greeted the lady.

"It's nice to meet you," Tommy greeted as he shook her hand. "Is this your first day too?"

"Yes," she answered in a cold voice. Kimberly tried to shake Principal Randall's hand. But, she quickly pulled it away." Dr. Oliver, I don't understand why someone with a PhD in paleontology would want to teach science to a bunch of teenagers."

"I just wanted to live a quiet life," Tommy answered truthfully.

"It doesn't make a lot of sense," Randall remarked.

"Why don't we meet after school," Tommy suggested. Randall took hold of his hand. But, he quickly pulled it away. "You could fill me in on what you expect from you teachers."

"I expect all of my teachers to be as painful and strict as they can possibly be. I tell my teachers they aren't doing their job if a kid smiles in the classroom," Randall declared as she noticed Kimberly taking hold of Tommy's hand and he didn't jerk it away. " Ms. Hart, I saw that on your job application that you used to be fitness trainer at the gym that recently closed down. I bet you the reason why you took a job as a teacher was because it's hard to find a job as a fitness trainer."

"I applied for a teaching job before the gym closed down," Kimberly explained as she held out her hand to show Randall her engagement ring. "I'm getting married soon and my fiancé is-"

"-I bet the guy works long hours in a factory," Randall interrupted.

"She's engaged to me," Tommy corrected as he put his arm around her. "We have known each other since high school. She is also my best friend. I can't imagine marrying anyone else."

"Oh , congratulations," Randall remarked as she rolled her eyes at Kimberly. She turned and started to walk off. "I can't understand why you didn't choose to marry a rich girl."

Most classroom walls are bare expect for the large windows. However, Tommy's classroom had dinosaurs posters, the periodic table, and dinosaur statues. There were several students who wanted to sit by the window. Many of them just wanted to look out the window and not pay attention. These students were probably thinking that their new teacher was going to fill their minds with facts that they could just google themselves. Tommy walked in as a paper airplane flew over his head.

"Class, settle down," he called out. The students turned to face him as he walked to the front of the room. "My name is Dr. Oliver and this is first period science. Most teachers tell students what they expect. But, what about you guys? What do you expect of me? In what ways do you learn best?"

"Dr. Oliver, my name is Cassidy Cornell," said a blonde haired girl. "Are you old enough to be a teacher?"

"Yes," Tommy answered.

"Devon, are you getting this?" She asked.

"Yes, I am," A dark haired boy answered. "I turned the camera on just as class began."

"Dr. Oliver, I saw the principal trying to make passes at you," Cassidy remarked. "Do you already have a girl friend? And if so, who is she?"

"I am engaged to my long time girlfriend ," Tommy smiled as he looked outside his classroom door. Kimberly was at the front of her class talking. "It is Kimberly Hart, the new health teacher. Now, Cassidy, please sit down and no more questions."

Kimberly's classroom was filled with health themed posters. One of them had the food pyramid on it. A picture of her and Tommy sat on her desk. Cassidy walked into the room with her friend Devon. He had his camera rolling waiting for juicy gossip. Right after first period, Tommy walked across the hall and warned her about them.

"Cassidy and Devon, I don't allow filming in here," Kimberly declared.

"Ms. Hart, Dr. Oliver says you are going to marry him," Cassidy started as students walked and started filling up the desks. "Is this true? If so, how long have you been together?"

"Yes, I am going to marry Dr. Oliver," Kimberly answered as she looked across the hall. Tommy was giving a lecture to his second period class. "We have been together since high school and we attended college together. Cassidy, I think it's time you take a seat. Please, don't ask any more non academic questions."

It was finally 2:45 PM. The first day of school was finally over. Both Tommy and Kimberly were relieved. They had made plans to go to Cold Stone. They were going to sit outside under and drink smoothies. They couldn't wait to hear about each other's first day. Then after drinking smoothies, they were heading to the museum.

"Dr. Oliver, Ms. Hart, you have detention duty," Randall declared.

"Do you mind telling us what we did?" Kimberly asked as she gave Tommy a confused look.

"These three students have gotten detention," Randall stated as she pointed at three students. Tommy and Kimberly instantly recognized them from being in their class. Kira Ford, Ethan James, and Conner McKnight. "And all the other teachers have plans."

"But, we were heading to the museum," Tommy quickly said.

"Take them with you," Randall suggested as a smirk appeared on her face.

"I can't miss band rehearsal," Kira declared.

"I have soccer practice," Conner announced as they followed Tommy to his jeep.

"And I have computer club," Ethan informed.

"I will make a deal with you," Tommy promised as he started the car. "If you find anything dinosaur related, I will cancel detention for the rest of the week."

They arrived at a museum and it appeared to be closed. Which was very unusual. It normally didn't close until 6:30 at night. The three teens went to go find dinosaur related objects, while Tommy and Kimberly headed to the front door.

"Kim, look this museum is owned by Anton Mercer!" Tommy gasped as he reread the note. "I don't know how this can even be possible."

"There must be some sort of mistake," Kimberly added as she read the note for herself. "We were the only ones who made it off the island. If he escaped, it would have been in the news."

Tommy and Kimberly started to walk around the museum to see if they could find another way in. They stopped as they noticed a big Tyrannosaurus Rex statue. It looked so life like.

"Tommy, I think it is alive," Kimberly warned as the dinosaur looked down at them.

Tommy glanced up at the dinosaur and it moved its head again. They stepped back as it stepped off the platform. He quickly grabbed Kimberly's hand and they ran to his jeep. The tyrannosaurus was walking closer to where they were.

"I think it's hungry," Kimberly fretted as it licked its lips.

Tommy turned they key in the ignition and the car started. They had to get out of there. If they stayed they would be eaten by a dinosaur. Tommy pulled off the parking lot as the tyrannosaurus started to chase them.

Being chased brought a primal fear to both of them. This wasn't just any kind of fear. It was the fear that brought out every ounce of them, the kind that emptied the reserved tank, the kind that made them feel their worst nightmares were coming to life, and the kind that ignored the physical and mental pain in the chase of making it to safety. Plus, this was the fear they knew they could never talk about. People would think they were crazy if they said they were chased down the road by a dinosaur.

"Tommy, I think we could run out gas," Kimberly as she looked at the fuel gauge.

"I have an idea," Tommy assured her as he drove under an over pass. He stopped his jeep several feet from the bridge. "Just watch."

The tyrannosaurus ran right into the bridge and it hit the ground. Sparks began to shoot up into the air as they walked over to the tyrannosaurus. Something didn't look right about it. Electrical wires were in its neck.

"Kim, I don't think this is a good sign," Tommy warned taking hold of her hand. "The only way this dinosaur could have came alive is if someone cast a spell over it."

"I hate to say this," Kimberly started taking a deep breath."But, I have a feeling strange and unusual things are about to happen."

Meanwhile, Conner, Ethan, and Kira fell through a sinkhole. They followed a tunnel until it lead them into lab. Computer screens were all over the room. Test tubes and science equipment were sitting on tables. In the middle of the room was a big rock like table. A red, blue, and yellow gem was laying on top of it.

"This would get us out of detention forever!" Conner beamed as he ran over and picked up the red gem.

"Let's get out of here before the owner gets back," Kira suggest as she picked up the yellow gem. And Ethan picked up the blue gem. "There is no way they would believe us when we tell them we fell through a sinkhole."

Tommy and Kimberly walked through the woods to find the teens. They agreed not tell them about being chased by the dinosaur. There was no way they would believe them. They walked a little further and found the three teens.

"Are you okay?" Kimberly asked as she noticed them putting something in their pocket.

"Yes, we're fine," Conner lied.

"Let's get you three back to school," Tommy suggested.

As Tommy parked his jeep, he heard Cassidy tell Devon that she called Angel Grove High. She requested information on him and Kimberly. But, they won't tell them anything.

"Kim, I am so sorry we didn't get to go to Cold Stone," Tommy apologized as he kissed her on the cheek. "I'm going to get some gas and then head home."

The three teens were just not acting right. She watched Kira give Conner a yellow rock. Kira walked away and she was grabbed by scaly creatures. The same ones that grabbed her and took her to the island.

"Boys, what just happened!?" Kimberly demanded as the boys just showed her the dino gems. "You should have told Tommy. I think you need to go tell him what happened. Get in my car and I will drive you to his house."

Tommy's house was in the middle of nowhere. No other houses around, it's only surroundings were trees. There weren't any other houses on this road when the gravel started. The boys jumped out of Kimberly's pink Sportage car and ran to the front door. Conner knocked on the door. But, no one answered.

"I've got a key," Kimberly informed them as started to dig through her purse. Conner turned the door knob and the door surprisingly opened.

"I'm surprised that our teacher doesn't look his door," Conner remarked as they walked into the house. "Doesn't he know that someone could come barging in?"

"Like the three bears?" Ethan remarked.

"There aren't any bears in these woods," Kimberly corrected as the boys Conner and Ethan walked around the living room. Conner noticed a dinosaur statue and he walked over to it. He touched it and a secret stair case appeared. "Tommy can sometimes be forgetful. And we don't need any nonsense. Don't try to avoid the real reason you are here."

"Is that you, Beautiful?" Tommy hollared.

"Conner, I didn't know Dr. O thought you were pretty," Ethan laughed as Conner's face turned red from embarrassment.

"He was referring to me," Kimberly corrected as she lead them down a staircase. "That is a nickname that he gave me in high school."

The boy instantly recognized this place immediately. Tommy was sitting at his desk and he looked up to find Kimberly and the boys standing in the room.

"If you are looking for extra credit you came to the wrong place," Tommy declared.

"Actually, they have something to tell you," Kimberly informed as she took a seat by Tommy. "Boys, tell him what happened in the forest."

Author's note:

It was interesting rewriting this episode. I think if Kim had been in the actual series, she would have been with Tommy when they went to museum. I am really looking forward to telling this story. There will even be episodes that weren't even in the actual story. So, stay tuned.
