Chapter 13
The Dog's day is today
They eventually got out of the Playhouse after sliding down a slide. Dogday shielded his eyes from the light.
"I'm….I'm free," said Dogday. "I'M FREE!". Dogday started to cry a bit.
"How long were you trapped in there?" Asked Ben.
"I. I have no idea" said Dogday. He then sat against the wall of the Playhouse.
"BEN! GWEN! MAX!" Team Tennyson looked to see Kissy Missy and Poppy running towards them.
"Poppy. Kissy" said Ben.
"Hi, Poppy" sighed Dogday.
"*gasp* Dogday" said Poppy as she ran over to him.
"How, bad is it?" Asked Dogday.
"Not very good" said Poppy.
"He's not gonna last very long out here if we don't get him back up" said Gwen.
"But how?" Asked Ben.
"I found the legs endoskeleton of a scrapped animatronic worker," said Kissy Missy, placing said piece on the floor. "We could use the legs to get Dogday moving again. But, it needs something".
"What's that?" Asked Max.
"A Cerebro nerve column" answered Kissy Missy.
"Well, where can we find one?" Asked Ben.
"There should be one in the toy store," answered Kissy Missy. "Ben. Max. Would you come with me?".
"Sure," said Max. "Take care of Poppy and Dogday, we'll be back". He, Ben and Kissy Missy headed off towards the toy store. Kissy Missy shoved the door open.
"Head in," said Kissy Missy. "I'll stand guard". Ben and Max walked into the toy store. Once inside, they saw that discarded toys were thrown all over the floor.
"Where are we gonna find that column?" Wondered Ben.
"Start looking" said Max. They looked all over the toy store until Ben found it, underneath a pile of Catnap plushies.
"Found it," said Ben before walking to Kissy Missy. "Is this it?".
"Yes, that's it" answered Kissy Missy. They then walked back.
"We got the piece" said Ben.
"Now we just need to put it all together" said Gwen.
"Anyone good with technology?" Asked Dogday.
"No, but I know someone who is" said Ben. Ben fiddled with the Omnitrix dial, slammed it down and turned into Grey Matter.
"Alrighty then," said Grey Matter. "Let's get you back up on your feet, Dogday".
A few minute later, Dogday's new mechanical legs were finished. He slowly stood up.
"That's, better" said Dogday. Grey Matter then turned back into Ben.
"Welcome to the team, Dogday" said Ben.
"Thanks, Ben" said Dogday.
The phone then rang and Max picked it up.
"Hey, are you alright?," asked Ollie. "No ouchies or lost body parts?".
"We're good, Ollie" answered Max.
"I'm really glad you're okay," said Ollie. "I don't want to lose any more friends to this place. How did the school go?".
"Miss Delight smashed the generator" answered Max.
"Oh no" said Ollie.
"We do have some good news," said Max. "We found and rescued Dogday from the Playhouse".
"Really?," asked Ollie. "So cool, thank you. He could be of great help to us".
"But, what are we gonna do without the generator from the school?," asked Ben. "The Toy Store was wrecked, so we can't use that one".
"The councillor's office is not to far," said Ollie. "You can use the generator from there".
"He's right," said Dogday. "If we hook the power cord from Councillor's office, it should be enough".'
"Should we split up?" Wondered Gwen.
"With Catnap out there?," asked Ben. "He'd pick us off one by one".
"What about in teams?," suggested Dogday. "Two teams of three. Me, Kissy and Poppy will head back up and see if we can find anything that can help. Ben, Gwen and Max, you three head to the Councillor's office and turn on the Generator there".
"Great plan, Dogday," said Ollie. "I'll send team Tennyson a key. Team Toy, meanwhile, will head up via the elevator. Ollie, out". Ollie then hung up.
"Hey, uh, Dogday," said Ben. "While me, Gwen and Grandpa were in the caverns, we saw Catnap worshiping a statue".
"You saw his shrine" answered Dogday.
"Shrine to what?" Asked Ben.
"The Prototype," answered Dogday. "Before Catnap became what he is now, there was an accident. He got electrocuted. The Prototype saved him. So, Catnap sees him as a God. Good luck".
"Thanks" said Ben.
