Chapter Summary: Kara and Oliver talks about Thea and Tommy bringing her breakfast — James asks questions about Kara and Oliver — Meanwhile with the scene of James Holder we see Quentin and Detective Hilton talking about the Arrow — Kara finds out the Cat will be writing a piece herself — lastly Kara gets a call from the school...
A/N: So since it's been decided that we all hate James, he'll flirt with Kara and be friend zoned, still don't know if she just dates Tommy for most of the story then gets with Oliver or should it be a love triangle.
The comments are confusing me even more —? but thank you for them anyways. Scenes are also a bit backwards here...Hope you enjoy!
Chapter Twelve: Talking and Calls
Kara took Oliver to an empty hallway. "Thea. She was at your apartment last night right?" Oliver got straight to the point.
"Yeah. Did you call her then leave?" Kara asked.
"Yeah, I had somewhere to be."
"Right," Kara nodded, folding her arms "Why are you asking about Thea?"
"She got in trouble last night."
"Did she break into a store again?" Kara raised an eyebrow.
"What do you mean again?" Oliver raised an eyebrow "Has this happened before?"
"Yeah," Kara nodded "About a month or so after the Gambit, she started acting out and getting into trouble with the law and Moira doing the same thing she did with you paid it off and any damages." Kara let out a scoff.
Oliver stared at Kara in disbelief at his mother, this had happened to him with his parents paying off anything damages and consequences he had caused, this is what he was discussing with his mother about after the police officers left the Queen's Mansion.
"And did you try and do anything to stop her?"
"She wasn't my child Oliver, your mother kept telling me that," Kara sighed. "Told me to keep my focus on her grandchildren and she'd worry about her child."
Oliver nodded slowly at her words. "So uh...Tommy brings you breakfast?" He changed the subject.
"Every morning since my pregnancy and afterwards." Kara nodded, noticing how he changed the subject so easily.
"He's around a lot?" Oliver asked. He masked the jealousy in his tone with seriousness.
"Oliver yes," Kara nodded "He's helped me since the twins were born just like everyone else."
"Yeah but you didn't sleep with everyone else." Oliver said.
Kara looked at him taken aback by his words. "Oh you have some nerve," she let out a scoff, turning to walk away.
*
Tommy, James, and Winn still stood by Kara's desk, Tommy leaning against it whole James leaned in and whispered in Winn's ear. "She knows Oliver Queen?"
"Man did you not keep up with the papers in high school through college?" Winn laughed, "They were engaged."
"Engaged?" James questioned.
"Yep." Winn nodded, "Her true love..." Winn sighed.
"Yeah her true love that hurt her," Tommy pushed himself off of Kara's desk.
He saw Kara walking fast and Oliver behind her. "Kara, wait I'm sorry," Oliver caught up to her.
"I think it's time for you to leave," she told him. "You too Tommy, thanks for the breakfast," she sat at her desk.
At the crime scene; Detective Lance and Hilton were at the scene of James Holder's death.
"It doesn't make sense," Quentin stepped aside with his partner, Detective Hilton. "Holder fits the profile. Wealthy dirtbag."
"Red meat for the hood," Hilton said "And we recovered at least one arrow."
"Yeah, only this time the cause of death is a double tap through the heart and our perp doesn't use firearms."
"Maybe he's finally figured out there's easier ways to kill people than with a bow and arrow, " Quentin said.
"It's like you said, the guy's a whackjob."
"In the shocker of a news item today..." a new woman was on the screen at CatCo, said as Kara entered with Ms. Grant's coffee. "...Cat Grant, CEO of Catco Media, is reporting that Supergirl and Superman are in fact related. No one has been able to identify who or rather what she is."
"Ah," Winn looked up at Kara. "Interesting choice mentioning that in an interview," he said, "Isn't that a little dangerous?"
"I didn't mean to," Kara turned to face her friend. "I got confused and it just popped out," she looked back into her boss's office, turning back to Winn and lowering her. "She...she tricked me, she's like a villain," Kara whispered. "She's like a super interviewing villain."
"That is literally the most boring power ever," said Winn.
"Kerah!" Cat called. Kara looked back at the office and let out a sigh before walking into the office.
"Good morning, Ms. Grant!" Kara smiled as she rushed-walked towards the desk of her boss, whose chair was facing her.
Cat turned her chair around to she took off her glasses and stared at her assistant. "Are you in a love triangle?"
"I'm sorry?" Kara was shocked by her bosses question, her eyes wide as she sat the coffee cup down on the desk.
"You have two rich guys throwing themselves at you," Cat pointed out taking a sip of her coffee, "And yet you're still single."
Kara stammered a bit. "Tommy and I are just friends," she informed her boss. "Yeah friends who've slept together multiple times," a voice in her head added.
"Hmmm," Cat made a simple hum. "And what of, Oliver Queen? Your former lover?"
"Oliver is in my past," Kara answered quickly. "We've agreed to be only friends."
Cat only hummed and nodded taking another sip of her coffee before dumping it in the trash.
"Bulletproof," Cat suddenly said deciding to change the subject.
"Are you asking me if I'm bulletproof..." Kara straightened.
"Bulletproof coffee," Cat said "It's made from unsalted grass-fed butter with an extract of coconut oil that improves brain —"
Kara's ringing phone interrupted the older blonde, Cats eyes darted up towards her assistant who was fumbling to get her phone out of her dress pocket.
"Uh sorry," Kara apologized nervously at the cold stare she was receiving from her boss. "It's...my kids school...?" She was concerned and worried why their school would be calling.
Cat let out an irritated sigh. "Go take the call Kiera," she told her assistant.
"Thank you, Ms. Grant," Kara exited the office answering her phone.
A man tattooed James Holder onto his arm standing lots of names tattooed all around his body.
Oliver opened the doors of the Queen Factory, Tommy and Diggle behind him. "What do you think?" Oliver asked his best friend who looked around the old building. "Great spot for a nightclub or what?"
"Sweet," Tommy replied. "Though I gotta tell you, man if you're thinkin' about calling it Queens, I didn't think you're gonna get the clientele that you were hoping for."
"Private office," Oliver pointed ahead. "For the private one-on-one meetings. I would imagine" Tommy said.
"Hopefully the occasional two-on-one meeting." Tommy laughed at Oliver's words.
"Man are you sure you wanna do this?" Tommy asked. "It's not like you really have any experience in running a...well anything," he said. "Plus would you wanna run a night club while having kids," at those words Oliver looked at Tommy.
Tommy took a deep breath. "How about tomorrow night drinks the two of us," Tommy suggested, "We get and scope out the competition. There's a new club opening downtown, it's call Poison," he told Oliver. "Max Fuller owns it."
"Max Fuller?"
"Mm-hm."
"I slept with his fiancé."
"Yeah before the wedding."
"It was at the rehearsal dinner."
"The rehearsal dinner is technically before the wedding. Right?"
They both laughed. "Besides, who stays made at a castaway?" Tommy asked as the laughter died down. "I mean you cheated on Kara and she's not made at you anymore. Right?"
"We both know Kara also has the heart of an angel."
"True."
