Author's Notes: Now I wanted to try something a little different in game armor plates are rated A to F while the other upgrades are separate. Since Liberator's armor is T-51F aka a prototype I had a few ideas on his armor's function along with the modifications he made over the years. So, I thought maybe he could have a keyboard hidden in his armor's left gauntlet that allows him to type logs in his helmet let me know what y'all think if I should continue to have his logs here and there or have it as a one-off. Now in his logs is a slur but you got to remember he's a pre-war ghoul the time he was from was very anti-communist and anti-Chinese. If you know the lore both sides did a lot of atrocities along with an insane amount of propaganda.
[Nuka World]
Things have gone much better than I expected no casualties and full victory. This is a huge win for the Minutemen. Hope has spread in the outskirts if only we could win more internal victories damn Yankees keep fighting themselves instead of the real threat.
[Youth Battalion]
These kids know how to fight Rick trained them excellently full of faith courage discipline. Hell, they'd give the U.S. Army maybe even the Marines a run for their money. Still, it saddens and sickens me that Rick had to resort to using kids, but they are the only ones willing to fight instead of squabbling.
[Zion Lost]
I failed everyone at Zion despite my best efforts so many have been killed only three Youth squads and a dozen Minutemen survived. I've since boobytrapped Zion no one will desecrate the Fort. The little ones are still heartbroken. As for Cody, I can see the hatred festering in him. We ran into a lone Raider Cody emptied his rifle into him. It's been a few months since Zion's fall and his arm has healed crooked his wrist has also been damaged poor kid has nothing but pain from it.
[Answering the call]
It's almost a year now kinda aimlessly wandering and doing good though showed the kids how to preserve food and make rations on the go. Making our shelters in ruins. We've been doing well. Not only that we've been killing Raider gangs left right and center. Things are looking up.
[University Point]
We made our way to a nice settlement the locals call it University Point a bunch of kind folk. I met a nice girl her name is Jacqueline Spencer. She prefers to be called Jacky. We've talked each one another's ears off over our love for engineering. She told me she found this pre-war hard drive containing research on reactor efficiency that I could use to help bring back America.
[Kellogg]
Kellogg came to speak with Mayor Strickland about the data Jacky found. The problem is she lost it. I had to hold Cody back the hatred I felt emanating from him was unholy I ain't the most faithful Christian out there but I know evil in someone's heart when I see it. Then again I felt it at Anchorage
[Another Victory]
The Insitute attacked us two days later. We beat them back I found the drive and destroyed it. I made sure they would have no reason to come back here sadly a lot of people still died including half of one of our squads. The good news is they sent one of their specialists to recover the sensitive data. Cody caught him and now we have an information source if we can torture it out of the bastard we have a chance to destroy the Insititute once I put the Minutemen back together.
[Torture]
I regret giving Cody that wretch I hate the Institute but what Cody did to him was unreal. He got the information we wanted who their leader is there located under the ruins of C.I.T and their teleporter. I wish I never opened that basement door. I know we needed that information but even then I think he took it too far. He nailed the specialist to the wall and his eyelids cut off a mirror placed in front of him so he could see everything that was done to him. He even found a homemade battery and some jumper cables didn't take Cody long to get him singing like a little songbird once he told us everything. Cody put a 45 in his forehead.
[Tattoos]
The people were horrified by what Cody did but were thankful for us saving the settlement. Cody went to their tattoo artist and got the same ones Rick had. A cross on his forehead Semper Fidelis on his left arm and the Minutemen emblem on his left cheek. I feel it may be a way of punishing himself for the quilt and the shame of what he did. Maybe the tattoos are both a physical and spiritual punishment for him. Having a needle on his skin for several hours each along with a reminder he would never be able to live up to his father's expectations let alone God's. I will give credit where it's due the artist poured his heart and soul into the tattoos making sure they were done right.
[ Departure]
We left University Point as for the data I secretly downloaded it to my visor so the eggheads still believe it's destroyed and I got it for free since they never knew I can copy data into my helmet's database. Yeah, it was messed up but I need to keep my caps I got to keep the little ones safe and fed. I just hope Jacky is going to be ok.
[The Suttons]
While on our usual patrols and recon missions we ran across the Suttons in this cute old boathouse. They were kind and gave us a place to sleep along with rations and water. They were shocked to see survivors from Fort Zion they heard everyone died. I can tell their hearts hurt to see child soldiers but as I told them there they only ones willing to protect the Commonwealth and give it a chance.
[Chem Stash]
Russel offered us a cut of the stash we need medicine and the rest we can trade in for a hefty amount of ammo. We had to kill a whole bunch of bloodbugs good thing we got here or the Suttons would have been food for the bugs. We destroyed the nests got the stash and split it 50/50.
[Goodneighbor]
Nice to know the Minutemen are still welcomed like heroes in some places. Hancock even gave us some more supplies on the house. The little ones have been busy reloading all their magazines and topping up on Molotovs and grenades. Kleo was nice enough to give us batches of old baseball grenades that weren't selling.
[Mutant Attack]
A couple of super mutants attacked Goodneighbor. Cody helped bait the green skins into a trap. I set up a minefield nearby once their legs were crippled it was easy pickins. Poor Cody though ran into a raider gang hiding in the ruins he had killed his way out all covered in fresh blood. He's been afraid to sleep he told me he found the remains of their victim and refused to tell me what they did to him. Now he's scared the Raiders will do the same thing to us. Whatever happened he ain't leaving my side again next time he goes to scout I'm going with him.
[Addiction]
Able walked up and told me what was going on behind my back Cody had been stealing chems off the bodies of raiders to stay awake and keep fighting. He was high on psycho and snapped at me fiercely but mostly at himself. Hancock advised me to put him on a chem cocktail to keep him under control. He said a bit of jet some psycho and some mentats will help keep him sharp and ready to fight.
[A soldier not a child]
Cody seems to have lost all his innocence the enemy took everything from him. I swear the Cody I met and the Cody I have now are two completely different creatures. Able marched over and scolded me. Told me I was killing his brother and that I was twisting him into a beast that he no longer recognizes. I told him that I was trying to keep his brother under control and the enemy killed him I'm just trying to ease his pain.
[A sliver]
Even though I stated the Cody I knew was dead a sliver remains. I've watched from the roofs of ruins and what do I see? I see little Cody helping the downtrodden giving some of his rations and water to the starving. Cleaning bandaging praying for the sick and wounded. He hates himself yet loves others. While places like Diamond City look down and spits on them Cody looks up to them. He's been learning fast how to flank hiding among the ruins how to scavenge and if the need arises steal. He rescued a new drifter coming in. From what I could gather her name was Mary. Poor thing had deep cuts all over her legs and feet. Cody washed her wounds and bandaged her up. Nice to have a little hope that maybe the Cody I know is still in there.
[Self-Righteous Bitch]
We've been here for two months all stocked up ready to go. Things have been smooth for the most part except for a small fight. A preacher named Delilah strolled in from Diamond City. I was there this time and heard the whole thing. In short, Delilah mocked Mary and spat on her for her past as a prostitute. Cody was already at his limit he took a double dose of Psycho for good measure. The final straw was when she slapped Mary across the face. Cody pulled the bayonet off his M16 and went to town on Delilah. I had to pull him off but the damage was done. Delilah's face was all cut up. Thankfully that seemed to shut the bitch up don't have to worry about her pestering Goodneighbor anymore.
[Banned from Diamond City]
Turns out Cody's little tantrum got us banned kinda funny though being a ghoul I'm already banned. Still, Diamond City may think they hold all the power they don't. It's adorable that they think they hold a candle to pre-war America. There all living in shacks made of scrap metal cowering behind a wall. Once the Commonwealth heals Diamond City will be left forgotten nothing more than ruins of rusting metal.
[Saving Salem]
Got a message delivered to us. It's from my old friend Barney Rook. Nice to know he's still kicking. We marched there and he told us about the mirelurk problem. I set up some bear traps and mines I got from Goodneighbor. It was fun seeing those damn crabs take flying lessons. I temporarily took command of the Salem Volunteer Militia and trained them on how to deal with mirelurks and set up defenses. We got more supplies and headed off for another recon mission.
[Fatal Fairline]
Big mistake trying to scout Fairline Hill Estates two yao gui ambushed us. One of the little ones was mortally wounded and died in Able's arms. Had to clear out the yao gui only for a bunch of ferals to jump out of the houses.
[Blue Flu]
The kids caught the blue flu I radioed Hancock to tell Doctor Amari to get ready to quarantine. I rushed them in. They've been getting worse Amari told me that if we can't get a cure she's going to have to perform surgery on them and drain the excess blood.
[Finish the Job]
Not all of them made it. Amari did her very best Even so many died after the surgery. Even after over two centuries the fucking chinks still take away my grandchildren. First, they killed my brothers in arms then they murder and rape their way through the American people in Anchorage now they take away my grandchildren America's children. I vow with God as my witness when I put the States back together I will finish the job. I will make sure the Reds will never hurt America or her children again. The Eagle will put the dragon to the sword once and for all.
[Three years since Zion]
Hard to believe we've held out this long. There are only twelve of them left and I make a baker's dozen. Still sad to think they see me as a grandpa to them. I'm a mass murderer. Able was right I have killed Cody I've made a beast out of him a dog of war. I should have put my foot down and got him off those drugs. Instead, I became his enabler. He's slowly killing himself so we can live he's kept guard and watch while everyone was asleep. He went on missions with me that were too dangerous for the others. I can tell his health is slowly failing and from what Amari told me he has the same heart condition as Rick. If the chems alone won't kill him his weak heart will. Even so, he remains adamant and steadfast.
[Call from Mama Murphy]
We got a call from Mama Murphy and Mayor Jackson in Quincy. It turns out the Gunners want a rematch. The question is can we win it? We jumped a few of their scouting parties and Able domed a couple of em. Found out about Clint going traitor and have yet to tell Hollis when he arrives.
[Quincy]
We arrived in short order Cody has since been chatting with Kyle while Able has set up on an old water tower a mile from here. If what our sources say is true this is a battle we cannot win. Still, we can get these people out of here. I'll get us out one way or the other. As for Clint, I'm going to enjoy watching the life drain from his eyes while he swings in a razor-wire noose.
