White Sand Ch. 10
TIME JUMP 2 MONTHS
Davy found herself sitting on the edge of the jetty, her mind constantly replaying over every interaction that she had with her father. Each memory in some way seemed tainted, what she once thought was a father trying to protect her from herself was stained with the horrible truth, he never really cared.
It was a hard pill to swallow knowing that your own father didn't care for you out of love but more so out of fear. Taking a wild guess, she was certain he would have given her up for adoption the moment he saw what she was capable of, but because she was almost 5 when it first started, her nana and uncle Jake would never have allowed that to happen.
Tossing a rock into the water, Davy watched as the tide started to come in, while she was a much stronger swimmer these days, the last thing that she wanted was to get pulled out several miles offshore and must swim back. Slowly making her way to her feet, Davy wiped the bits of dirt and sand off her ass and slowly made her way towards shore, but as she walked, she could hear the orcas calling out.
Glancing over her shoulder she couldn't help but smile, every few days they would come into the cove and rub themselves on the smooth rocks at the bottom. It never ceased to amaze her to watch them, some people might just say they are animals, but Davy knew better. They were a tight-knit group that loved each other, the mother always looking out protecting her family, teaching them how to hunt and survive.
It was something that made her a little jealous, this beautiful animal knew how to treat her children better than her own human father. Letting out a deep sigh, Davy knew it wasn't healthy to dwell on the what ifs, but a part of her knew that if she didn't get some answers about her past, she didn't think that she would be able to move forward and she had a wonderful thing going with Arthur and she be damned if a little childhood trauma would keep her from realizing that life.
Running her fingers through her hair, Davy watched as the younger whales jumped over the surf, chuckling a bit as the newest member of their pod attempted to follow her big brother. With a final glance back, Davy made her way towards the cliffs figuring that she would make her way to her uncles, it was time to get to the bottom of some family truths.
Jake shifted a little in his chair, normally he enjoyed sitting by the fire after his morning cup of coffee, but this morning he was face to face with his niece and by the look on her face she was hurting.
"What's going on brat?" he asked her. It's been almost 2 months since the bullshit with his brother and he thought everything was going well with Arthur. While he was pushing deeper into his 50's, he wouldn't stand for anyone hurting his niece.
Tucking her feet under her, Davy could see the concern in his eyes, throughout all of this he always tried to support her and her life. It felt good to have a living member of her family care about her happiness.
Exhaling slowly Davy could only give him a soft smile, "I love you so much." It was important for her to make sure he knew that.
Reaching over, Jake placed his hand on hers, "I know you do." Giving her hand a light squeeze, he could see that whatever was on her mind was weighing heavily. "No matter what's on your mind, I am here for you." It was imperative for her to know that she was loved, no matter what she was thinking or going through he would do his best to support her.
"Thanks uncle Jake." Giving herself a second to formulate her thoughts, Davy knew that the only way to get through this was to just pull the damn band-aid off.
"When I started to show my powers, did dad want to get rid of me?"
Hanging his head, Jake figured that this was something that she would ask eventually, especially with what she heard John say when he was here. Looking up, Jake found her golden eyes swimming with curiosity and desperate for answers.
Leaning back into his chair, Jake could only give her a sad smile, "He mentioned it once." Closing his eyes, trying to remember how he interpreted that statement, "When I think back on that day, you were so full of energy, you were being a typical 4-year-old, running around kinda listening." Using his hand to smooth down his beard, Jake could see that Davy was watching, waiting for more. "That was the only time he said anything like it, so, at the time I just brushed it off as a single dad being stressed."
Folding her arms over her chest, "What did he say to you when my powers came to the surface?"
"He blamed your mother instantly." Thinking back on it, "He was convinced that it was from that side of your family that you got it from, because no one in our family until you ever had anything like it."
Chewing on her inner cheek, desperate to know more about the mystery woman that gave birth to her. "Did you ever meet my mother?" she asked, hoping that finally she would get some answers, because the one time she asked her father, he practically bit her head off.
Smiling, "Yeah, a few times." Smiling up at her, "She was a looker, her hair was darker than yours, but still blonde. I think she had light brown eyes, they didn't look as deep as mine or your dads but weren't like yours either." Standing up quickly, Jake headed towards his room, "Give me a second."
Davy's eyes followed him until he disappeared into his room, her anxiety spiked the moment he stood up, but it was the sound of him rummaging that had her heart speeding up. Reaching for her phone Davy sent a text to Arthur, knowing that whatever information that her uncle was about to give to her, she would need him.
Hearing him make his way back into the living area, Davy stuffed her phone back into her pocket, anxious by the expression on his face. Using her jeans to wipe the sweat from her palms, Davy followed her uncle's every move, desperate to see what was in his hands.
As he sat down, Jake handed over the photo, "Your dad and I were at Pipeline." A sad smile spread across his face, hating that it took a moment of her asking about her mom for him to remember that he had the only known photo of her.
Lightly gripping the photo, Davy found herself looking at her mother, memorizing every little detail from her face to the birthmark above her hip. It was eerie, it was like looking into a mirror, with only a few differences between them, it was clear that she was her mother.
A wave of emotion hit her hard, wiping away a few tears that were threatening to fall, she placed down the photo scared that she could set it on fire. Taking a few moments to get herself in a place where she could talk about it, Davy found her uncle looking at her, not with fear, just concern.
Wrapping her arms around her stomach, Davy let out a shaky breath, her eyes finding his watching and waiting for her. Feeling more in control of her emotions, Davy took another calming breath and focused on what she was desperate to know.
"How did they meet?" Her eyes drifting back to the photo, it was strange to see her father with such a huge smile on his face.
Snorting, "According to your pop, they met when he was hiking Kohala." It was ironic, the man hated that his daughter could literally create fire from her body but enjoyed hiking up on one of the most active volcanos on the islands.
Davy couldn't help but laugh a bit, "That was my favorite thing to do with dad, I always loved seeing the volcanos." It was the only time growing up that she felt somewhat normal.
Jake could only nod, "I know that it is not much, but that is all I remember." Reaching over, Jake placed his hand on hers, "John only brought her around a few times, then he moved to Kauia, and then I was getting a call that you were born, and he was alone."
Feeling her lip quiver, "So, he moved off the main island, to the rainforest and she just left me after I was born."
"From what your pop said, yes. They lived in the little cabin you grew up in, and after you were born, she left a note, and no one has seen her since." Never in his life did he wish that he had more information, hell, he was tempted to call Johnny to ask about her, but he was certain that he would tell him to go fuck himself.
Running her fingers through her hair, Davy came here for answers but felt like she had a million more questions. However, as she looked over at her uncle, she knew that he didn't have more to share, well, that wasn't completely true. Locking eyes with him, "What was her name?"
Sitting in his favorite corner, Arthur watched as the evening regulars started to trickle in for their nightly drinks. Glancing over towards his dad, he could see that the man was in deep thought, "What's running through that head pop?"
Snorting a bit, "You've been working a lot these days, any particular reason?" Tom knew that his son was a hard worker, but over the last month or so, he would help some of the fisherman that wanted to go into rougher waters.
It should have pissed him off with how easily his pop was able to see through him, rolling his eyes, Arthur reached into his pocket and placed the box down. Sliding it over, chuckling a bit at the look of surprise etched all over his face.
Without another word, Tom quickly opened the box gasping at the sight of the ring. "Arthur this must have cost a fortune!"
Chuckling, Arthur took the box from his dad and placed it back into his pocket, "Not really. The stone I got from the base of an underwater volcano, it was getting it set in the white gold that cost me money." Leaning back in the booth Arthur could see that his pop was going through several emotions but all of them seemed to be happy.
Tom had to choke back his tears, he was so worried that after what Mera did, his son wouldn't let himself get involved with another person again. Unable to keep the smile off his face, Tom patted his shoulder, "Does your mother know?" He knew how much she loved Davy.
Shaking his head, "No, you're the first person that I've told." Glancing around, thankful that Betty was distracted with customers. Turning back towards his pop, Arthur could see that he had a huge smile on his face, it was a good sign, because if his dad was this happy, he knew that his mother would be ecstatic. "I was going to talk to mom about it tomorrow, then Jake."
Raising his eyebrow, Tom could see that his son was a little nervous on the last part, "Going to ask for his blessing?"
"Yeah." It really didn't matter to him about his blessings, but given everything that her dad put her through he knew that it would mean a lot to her to have it.
Downing his pint, Arthur could see the surprise all over his face, "I don't care or need it, but I know it would mean something to her." Shrugging his shoulder, "She's everything to me."
"I'm happy for you son." Finishing up his beer, Tom knew it was time to start heading home, putting down his money, he watched as his son stood with him. Patting him on his shoulder, "You're a great man and I think you're going to make a good husband."
Arthur watched as his pop drove towards home, his mind going back to him saying that he would be a good husband. He hoped that he would, he felt that they were able to compromise on a lot of things, hell, they even were able to get on the same page about having kids. While he wanted a bunch, he knew that it wasn't his body and it was hell on a woman to bring them into this world, so they agreed to play it by ear.
However, before he could get too lost in thought of their future children, Arthur felt his phone, knowing that she was the only one that had his number. Hell, he only got the damn thing because of her, wanting to make sure that she could call him if she ever needed to get a hold of him.
Fire Goddess: Will you come by? I think after talking with my uncle, I'm going to need you.
Without even texting his response, Arthur jumped into his truck and drove as fast as he could to her home. His mind racing, wondering what she could have talked about with Jake that would have her sounding so anxious.
Sitting in front of the fire, Davy watched as the flames danced across the logs, smiling at the sight of it. Every day she was working with her gifts, even using it to heat up her tea mug, it was one thing to be able to throw a fireball, but it was another to use it in a soft manner.
Bringing her knees to her chin, Davy wrapped her arms around her legs, her mind replaying the conversation with her uncle, while it wasn't a lot to go on it was better than what she's had for the last 26 years.
She had wished it would have answered a lot of questions, but it only had her asking more. Her uncle only knew what her father had told him and as much as she wanted answers, after the way her father left, she was certain that he would never help her, unless she gave into his demands.
Rolling her eyes at the thought of him controlling any aspects of her life, she would always in some way love her father, but she didn't like him much.
"DAVINA!"
Jumping at the sound of his voice, Davy watched as Arthur made his way into the living room, worry filling his eyes. Not even bothering to stand, she just smiled up at him as he came to sit down next to her, "I'm alright."
Wrapping her arms around him, she could feel all her anxiousness leaving her body. Reaching into her pocket, she pulled out the picture that her uncle gave her, "Harper Johnson, my mother."
Tucking her tightly into his chest, Arthur wrapped his legs around hers essentially keeping her against his chest. Glancing down at the picture, he couldn't help but smile down at the picture, she was beautiful just like Davina. Placing his head on hers, he tossed the picture on the coffee table, "As beautiful as she is, she doesn't have anything on you." Kissing her temple, he could feel her relax into his arms, "And what did you find out?"
Leaning back slightly, Davy didn't feel anything but content in his arms, outside of her nana, Arthur was one of the only people that made her feel that she was special. Placing a kiss on his neck, smirking a bit when she could feel his arms tighten around her.
"Based on what my father told my uncle, she was visiting the big island, met my dad, must have fell in love, got pregnant and then after she had me, she vanished." Adjusting herself to where she was straddling his lap, inhaling deeply as she felt the bulge in his jeans pushing against her thigh, while she loved how caring he was with her in when it was just them hanging out or going out to dinner, but having his body always respond to hers in this primal way always made her feel sexy.
Slowly unbuttoning his shirt, Davy kept her eyes locked on his, "I need answers, and the only way I'll get them is by trying to find her."
Kissing his throat as she slid his shirt off his shoulders, hissing as she felt his teeth scraping against her neck. "I need you." she said, breathlessly.
Not having to be told twice, Arthur ripped the dress she was wearing down the center. Tossing it aside, he rolled until she was pinned under his body, taking ahold of her wrists, Arthur ripped her panties from her body, groaning as he watched her nipples pebbled. Using his other hand, he quickly unbuttoned his jeans and pushed them down past his cock.
Rolling his hips until the tip of his cock was pushing against her center, Arthur groaned as her slick center coated him. "Jesus, always so wet for me." Leaning down, Arthur licked the side of her neck, chuckling as she arched her body into his, lightly biting on her ear, growling as her legs wrapped tighter against his hips. "What do you want baby?"
Using her legs, Davy pulled him closer to her body, gasping as he slowly entered her body, nothing felt better than how he stretched her completely. "I want you to fuck me." She gasped, her pussy aching as he slowly filled her.
Inching his way through her body, Arthur had to be mindful of her wrists or he could snap them in half. Resisting the urge to plunge into her body, Arthur moved inch by inch until his cock was fully seated into her, hissing as the velvet texture of her walls massaged him. "Jesus."
Resting his forehead against hers, he could only breathe her in, warm citrus and a hint of ocean. Taking a hold of her thigh with his free hand, Arthur found her eyes staring into his, for a moment he was worried that he could be hurting her, but as he stared deeper all he could see was her trust and love. He was ever so tempted to ask her now, but he knew that she deserved more than a quick proposal while he was balls deep in her body.
Davy could barely keep her eyes open as she felt him slowly move within her body, lifting her legs until she was able to lock her ankles behind his back. She wanted to run her fingers through his hair, desperate to hold him closer to her body, but with how he held her wrists, she couldn't move until he decided to let her go.
Lifting her hips to meet his as he drove himself painfully slow into her body, with each thrust she could feel herself leaking down his shaft.
"Arthur, please." Not caring that she was begging him. He was the only person that she felt safe enough to submit to, she loved him more than anything, he was the person that she wanted to build a real future with.
Growling in her ear, Arthur licked the shell of her ear, hissing as her pussy clamped down around his dick. As he let go of her wrists, Arthur used his arms to pull her up onto his lap as he leaned back against his knees, he wanted to have her body pressed against his as he they fell over the edge together.
Sliding his hands into her hair, he used his palms to turn her face towards his, "Look at me baby, I want to see your eyes as you cum." He growled out. Thrusting up into her body, he could feel the base of his spine starting to tingle and as much as he would want to cum, he would never allow himself to cum before her.
Wrapping her arms around his neck, Davy rolled her hips as he thrusted up into her body, each movement was deliberate, deliciously painful and just what she needed. Davy found his eyes staring directly into hers, ever so intense, but filled with love, it was a powerful thing to have him look at her like that.
"I love you." She moaned out. Her body was trembling, she could feel the coil in her lower belly tightening, gripping his shoulders a little harder, Davy could feel her nails digging into his flesh, but it was the only thing that kept her grounded.
"ARTHUR!" Her body shaking as the orgasm rolled through her body.
Holding her tighter against his chest, Arthur could feel her pussy starting to flutter, slamming his lips onto hers Arthur, moaning as bright lights flashed behind his eye lids. Being mindful not to crush her as he tightened his arms, he could feel his heart racing as her body massaged his dick.
Nothing felt better to him than the way her walls squeezed him, milking him every drop out of him. Placing his forehead on hers, Arthur was engulfed with her scent, orange blossoms, it swirled around them, but it intertwined with his. It pleased the most primal part of his brain knowing that males from all kinds of species would naturally avoid her, even if they didn't know why, subconsciously they would.
Rolling them until she was laying across his chest, Arthur used his fingertips to move the hair that was stuck to her face. Smiling like an idiot when she snuggled deeply into his chest, holding her a little tighter, "I love you too." Leaning down he placed a kiss on her temple, "I'll help you find your mother, just tell me what you need."
Turning her head, Davy placed a kiss over his heart, while it was a daunting task, she was thankful that he was willing to help her. Feeling a wave of emotion, Davy could feel a tear threatening to fall, but before she could wipe it off her cheek, Arthur was already doing it for her.
Leaning into his hand, Davy smiled up at him, "Thank you. But I wouldn't even know where to start looking." She wanted nothing more than to find her, but the chances of her doing so, was slim to none, unless she spent thousands of dollars on a private investigator.
Reaching over towards the couch, Arthur pulled down the quilt that she made for him and spread it over their bodies. Letting out a yawn, he could feel her body starting to settle against him, he wasn't too far behind her. "We will start with the hospital you were born at, there's got to be some medical records."
Twirling her fingers in his hair, Davy could almost punch herself for missing the biggest clue, "I can't believe that I didn't think of that." Settling in a little more, "I guess we should get up and go to bed." As she said that, it dawned on her that he spent more time here than his home, "Would you like to move in with me?" Her heart racing at her own question.
Taking ahold of her neck, Arthur quickly got to his feet, hissing as his cock slipped out of her body, but that was something he'd remedy in the morning. Holding her tightly against his chest as he moved towards the bedroom, not stopping until he placed her gently in the center and crawling in behind her.
Placing a kiss on her shoulder, "Woman, I'll have my shit here by tomorrow afternoon." Pulling her a little closer to his chest, Arthur couldn't help but feel a little relief, if she wanted to start living together then she was already thinking of the future, and it seemed to include him.
"Good." Snuggling a little deeper in his arms, "Night, love you."
"Love you." Relaxing on the pillow he could only think how different this felt with Davina.
With Mera it always felt like it was what he was supposed to do, but after his time away and speaking with his mom, it was clear that it was her siren call that kept him enthralled. At first, he wanted to believe that she wasn't using it on him on purpose but over the last year of his life he looked back on every interaction he had with her, she was always touching him, be it his arm or something just as innocent.
Closing his eyes, it was the last thing he was going to allow himself to do, worry about Mera and all the times she made him look like a fucking idiot. She was stuck in Xebel, her powers gone and from what his mother had told him, married to the fishman that she cheated on him with. It didn't make him happy or even angry, Arthur was just relieved that she was no longer his problem, he could only hope that by losing her gifts it would teach her to treat people kindly. Not that he had much hope for her in that aspect.
No longer wanting to waste time thinking about the past, Arthur let himself drift to sleep, he had the woman he loved in his arms, tomorrow he would be moving into their home and hopefully sooner rather than later he would convince her to marry him.
Davy watched as he brought that ugly chair into the house, her nose scrunching at the sight of it, but as much as she thought it was hideous, she knew that it was his favorite chair. Pointing to a spot near the fireplace, "You can put that monstrosity there."
Swallowing some spit that pooled in her mouth, Davy had to keep herself from drooling as he had his chair on one shoulder and a huge coffee table on the other. Leaning against the kitchen island, Davy let her eyes follow his every movement, sometimes she really felt like a damn pervert when he moved.
"Enjoying the show?" he asked her. Placing the chair in the spot that she pointed at, Arthur smirked as she swallowed hard, "I could always lose the jeans." Smirking at the sound of her inhaling.
Turning her head, Davy had to resist the urge to tell him to drop his pants, but if they did that, his parents would more and likely walk in on them, and she'd rather not have them see her like that. Coughing, pointing towards the room that she used for her office, "You can put the table in there."
Winking as he walked by, Arthur could hear a truck coming up the drive, "You're about to have some company." Chuckling a bit as she darted towards the front door with a huge smile on her face.
Davy practically ripped the door off the hinges, excited to see her friends but instead of Tom's truck in her driveway there was a black Mercedes SUV. Leaning against the doorframe, she watched as an impeccably dressed man stepped out.
Anxiousness filled her, every fear of someone coming from some unknown organization started to creep into her mind. Clenching her fists, she took several calming breaths, as scared as she was, she wasn't going to run and hide unless this man gave her a reason.
"Can I help you?"
Bruce took in the woman in front of him, she was far more beautiful in person than in her pictures. Tilting his head, he could see that she was nervous, which was understandable, the girl spent a greater part of her life completely under the radar and having an unknown man show up on her front would make anyone a little jumpy.
"Actually, Ms. Olsen, I'm here to help you." Smirking a bit at how quickly she tensed. Taking a step forward, he watched as she took a step to steady herself, interesting, she was scared but readying herself to fight if it came to it. However, before he even reached the first stone in the pathway, the huge shadow of Arthur loomed behind her.
Putting his hand on her shoulder, Arthur gently stepped in front of her, "Long way from Gotham Bruce."
Inhaling, Davy peered around his shoulders, her eyes going wide as she realized that Bruce Wayne was on her property. Keeping herself behind Arthur, while she knew he worked with the man before, she still didn't trust why he was here. "Why are you on my property?" she asked.
Pulling out a manila folder, his eyes turning towards Arthur, "You didn't tell her?"
"Tell me what?" Even more curious about what was happening.
Shaking his head, "When I worked with the Justice League, Bruce gave me a number to call if I ever needed help." Glancing down at her, he could see the curiosity and fear in her eyes, "I called the number this morning when I was getting my furniture, I figured he'd be able to help you find your mom." Snapping his eyes towards the man that was taking a step closer, he stepped off the porch and stood in front of him.
Smirking up at the man, still just as intense as the first time he met him in Iceland. Shaking his head, he was certain that if he continued to be dramatic about his visit, Arthur would break him in half. "I had a meeting in New York this morning and after I took the jet to Portland, it was only an hour and a half flight." Looking around his giant frame, Bruce smiled at the young woman, "I figured I'd deliver these in person and check in on a colleague."
Turning his attention to the man standing in his way, "We are on friendly terms, right?"
Davy could see Arthur's jaw twitching, not really wanting to see the man beaten on her front lawn, she did the only thing that she felt was appropriate. Placing her hand on Arthur's shoulder, "Perhaps we should invite him inside, it's freezing out."
Without taking his eyes off Bruce, Arthur stepped aside, while he could appreciate his help, the fact that he just showed up on her doorstep pissed him off to no end. He watched as Davina walked inside and when Bruce was on the first step, he placed his hand on his shoulder effectively stopping him, "She's not a danger to me or anyone else, you got that?"
Bruce could see that Arthur would kill him without hesitation if he or anyone so much as threatened the girl, that he could almost appreciate. "I know, I did my research on her. Up until that incident a couple months back, she wasn't even on my radar."
Arthur stepped on the porch, enjoying that he was towering over the man, "Good. I would suggest that you and anyone else keeps it that way." Without another word, Arthur walked into his home, his eyes finding Davina sitting on the couch with a few cups of tea waiting for them.
Davy watched as Bruce settled in across from them, her eyes never leaving the envelope. She wanted to know everything so bad, but she knew that nothing in this world was free either, so she sat, gripping Arthur's hand, hoping that the price for this information was not going to cost her.
