A/N: This is something I came up with and don't worry, Hank and Olivia are together in this one. This mostly relates to the end of the episode of Chicago PD, which aired on 3-5-25. There will be a part 2 to this one. I don't own any of the characters.
I Trust You - Part 1
Hank was engaged to Olivia and they were planning to get married in the next few months. He had told her about Nina admitting her feelings for him. He said she left before he could tell her that he was with someone and they would never have anything more than being friends and maintaining a professional relationship. Olivia said she trusted him completely just as he trusted her in her relationship with Elliot. Elliot accepted that Olivia was with someone else and happy. He had Hank had become friends and Hank had given him a lot of support after he lost Kathy, which he really appreciated.
Hank had been getting a cup of coffee when he saw Nina come into the bullpen. He had a feeling things were not going to go well when he told her about Olivia. Nina was a great person and he enjoyed working with her but that was it. Nina walked over to him.
"Hey."
"Hey. I thought you were back in another week."
"The case ended sooner than expected."
They went into his office.
"I have something I need you to sign."
She handed Hank the piece of paper and he signed it.
"How are things here?"
"Same as always."
"You want to meet for drinks later and you can fill me in?"
"Yeah but there are also some other things we need to discuss."
"Sounds serious."
"I have a meeting to get to."
Hank left and headed to his meeting, so Nina went back to her office. During the meeting, Chief Reid wanted to cut down on the gang violence and drug dealers in certain areas and he told Hank he wanted Intelligence to focus on Lawndale. Once the meeting was over, he contacted the squad and they headed to where they were supposed to go. Hank had seen one of the drug dealers and started questioning Reid's motives. He called Nina to have her contact any ASAs she knows in Detroit to see what she could find out about Reid. She later told him Reid had certain people he dealt with but they called it more owning them. She asked Hank if Reid had dirt on him and he said he did. Reid had another ASA get a warrant that Nina said she couldn't get. When Kaiden refused to tell them anything or accept the deal Nina was offering, his lawyer showed up and he told them whatever they wanted to know. Reid ended up showing up where they were about to take down the guy who killed the bus driver and Hank shot the perp.
After everyone had left for the day, Hank had looked up the lawyer that had shown up and saw all the people he represented. After Hank had found out that Kaiden's sister had been killed, he met with Reid and asked him who he owned. Reid told Hank that it really wasn't his concern and that the two of them were a lot alike. He told him about his mother being killed by a bank robber when he was young. Hank had also lost his father in the line of duty at a young age as well. As soon as Reid got out of Hank's SUV, he called Nina and had her meet him at his house. He then told her everything Reid had on him and his squad.
"Ok, so what happens next?"
"I wanna take this son of a bitch down and I need your help."
"I'll help with whatever you need. You said there was something else we needed to discuss."
"Yeah, there is and that something is what happened the last time you were here."
"We don't need to discuss this. I told you we didn't need to bring this up again."
"Yeah, we do need to discuss it. I never got a chance to tell you that I am in a relationship with someone."
"I thought you couldn't get over your wife."
"Olivia knows I'm always gonna love Camille and she's ok with that. I like workin' with you and honestly, you remind me of Olivia in some ways. You don't take any shit from me and you put me in my place. Like her, you get away with it and I don't let too many people do that. I have always respected her from the time we met and I feel the same about you. You're an amazing woman but the last thing I wanna do is hurt you because I can't return your feelings. I just hope we can be friends as well as maintain our professional relationship."
"I thought about what I had said to you the last time I was here and I do care about you but I'm good with us being friends. I'm glad you're happy. How long have you two been together?"
"We've officially been together for about 9 years. We had a friends with benefits thing goin' on when we met and she eventually started seein' someone else, so I backed off to let her figure things out with him. They ended things about a year later and then we decided to give it a shot that summer. The only problem with that is she's in New York and I'm here. I was plannin' to leave Chicago for her after Olinsky died but then I had issues with Dawson, who was my number two for so many years. I wanted Halstead to take over but then he left and then I had to give Upton time."
"Then she left."
"Right and even though Burgess is now a Detective and she takes over when I go see Olivia on weekends or if Olivia comes here, she's nowhere near bein' ready to take over completely. Olivia decided she needs a change, so she and Noah are movin' here once he's done with school for the summer."
"Has she been married before?"
"No. She adopted Noah on her own about 10 years ago. He's a good kid."
"What does Olivia do?"
"She's a Captain with the NYPD Special Victims Unit. She's plannin' to be based out of Intelligence and do her thing there. I've already discussed it with the higher ups and they're fine with it. They know we're in a relationship too."
"I have noticed that you have had quite a few sexual assault cases."
"Yeah, we have."
"I look forward to working with her too. What's your plan for taking down Reid?"
"I don't know yet but I wanna do this right and by the book. I will have to let the squad know what's goin' on."
Hank heard the door open and then Olivia came in. She put her stuff down, took her coat and shoes off and went to kiss Hank.
"Hello."
"Hey. I didn't know you were comin'."
"Noah convinced me to get away for a few days, so I left Renee in charge and Fin was fine with that. You must be Nina. I'm Olivia."
"I am and it's nice to meet you."
"You too. Is he behaving himself?"
Olivia sat down.
"He is. I apologize for how I left things with Hank a few months ago."
"Don't worry about it. I trust him completely and I'm fine with the two of you having a friendship outside of working together. What kind of case are you working on now?"
Hank told Olivia what had happened with Chief Reid.
"Oh, boy. There is nothing I hate more than a corrupt cop. He actually thinks you're going to take the fall for the crap he pulls?"
"Apparently."
"If there is anything I can do, I'm here for you."
"Thanks. I appreciate that. I just wanna do this right, which is why I want Nina's help."
"It's always good to know someone at the District Attorney or State's Attorney's office. Like with us, Carisi was with SVU before he went to the DA's office, so he knows how we operate. Peter Stone, on the other hand, was more familiar with how things were done here and wasn't used to dealing with actual victims when he came to New York. Don't get me wrong, we sometimes have vics that are deceased but mostly they're not."
"I've dealt with both and like I told Hank before you got here, I'm looking forward to working with you as well."
"I am actually looking forward to stepping back a little bit."
"The squad is lookin' forward to workin' with you too."
"Are you taking over the unit?"
"Even though I outrank him, not really. We'll be sharing the office but I will be in unless something comes up that involves a sexual assault. I wasn't sure I was ready to retire."
"If I had left Chicago like I was originally plannin', I would have retired. I should have left after Al died."
"We probably would have been married by now too."
"Yeah, probably."
"You having a big wedding?"
"We're getting married on the Odyssey in June and I'm officially starting with CPD at the beginning of July. That way Noah and I can get moved here and Hank and I can still have a honeymoon before I start working."
"Wow! The Odyssey is amazing and hopefully the weather will be nice."
"That's what we're hoping for."
"How old is your son?"
"He's 13. I'm still trying to adjust to the teenage years. We actually need to get serious about looking for a new house anyway."
"Yeah, I know we do."
"I wasn't sure I wanted to live where he lived with Camille. We want a little more space for when Erin, Olive and Daniel come to visit."
"How old is your grandson?"
"He'll be 10."
"The whole family is in the wedding. Erin is supposed to be my Maid of Honor and Olive is a Bridesmaid. Hank decided to make Noah his Best Man and Daniel is the Ring Bearer. Amanda, one of my former Detectives, who is now a Sergeant in her own unit, is another Bridesmaid along with my friend Melinda, who's the Chief Medical Examiner in New York. Amanda's daughters Jesse and Billie are the Flower Girls.
"You else did you ask, Hank?"
"Fin, who's Olivia's Sergeant and also Atwater and Ruzek."
"As excited as Noah is about moving here and getting a dad, a part of him wishes he could have stayed in his school for one more year and do the 4 years of high school here."
"Unless you wanna deal with a long distance marriage."
"I don't and I told him that. He knows we've waited long enough to do this. He does make friends quickly. I did tell him we can't guarantee him doing dance right now and he's fine with that. I don't want him to be unhappy here though. This is a huge step for both of us. All either of us has known is New York. Not only is he leaving his friends at school and the friends he made in dance but he's also leaving Jesse and Billie."
"You want me to move there instead?"
"No. I know your squad isn't ready to be left on their own especially with Kim still being so new as a Detective. You're not going to have her become your number two and then leave her on her own to run things. If you still had Jay or Hailey, that would be different. I get it. Noah will adjust and so will I."
"Who's Noah stayin' with while you're here?"
"He's staying with Carisi and the kids. Amanda is out of town and Carisi has his hands full with Nicky and the girls. Erin is out of town again."
"What else is new?"
"I can tell you one thing, if she backs out of the wedding because of work, I am not going to be too happy with her."
"I doubt she will because like me, when she gives someone her word, she means it. Although I don't blame you for feelin' the way you do and I'll probably be pissed at her too."
"If I am, it doesn't mean you have to be."
"Yeah, it does. It's bad enough that I don't have Justin or Al for this but Erin is the one that got me through the stuff with Camille at the end and was there when she passed. Hell, if it hadn't been for Erin, we never would have met."
"I can't argue with that."
"Are you both hungry?"
"I am."
"I am too."
"Pizza or Chinese?"
"I'm good with either."
"Me too."
They decided what they wanted and then Hank ordered it. Hank then went to get 3 beers out of the refrigerator and then came back.
"We've investigated some corrupt cops in SVU."
Olivia told them about the case with Quinn, West and Cassidy.
"When I was talking to Quinn later, I asked her if she was expecting West to leave his wife for her. If it was me and I knew my partner was doing something illegal, I'd probably turn him in."
"I have no doubt that you would."
"Would you have wanted your partner to leave his wife for you?"
"Absolutely not. I won't deny there were feelings there because there were and his wife and kids assumed there was something going on between us but there wasn't. I would never ask a man to leave his wife and kids for me nor would I ever sleep with a married man. My idiot former partner left without informing me and put his papers in. He came back a decade later and returned to the NYPD after his wife got injured in a car bombing. She later died from her injuries. I think he was actually hoping to start a relationship but I am completely and totally devoted to Hank and we have worked so hard to be where we are. I had mixed feelings about him being back in my life but we've talked a lot about what I've been through in the time he was gone and about my relationship with Hank. Hank and I didn't start out on the right foot and I did compare him to my former partner because they have similar personalities. I also had to threaten to arrest him when we first met."
Nina started laughing.
"Oh, that is too funny."
"Although when he tells me I have his word, I know he means it."
The pizza arrived and everyone ate as they talked. Olivia told Nina about what happened with William Lewis. Hank decided that he would talk to the squad just so they knew what was going on and knew to watch themselves with Chief Reid. After Elliot and Nina left, Olivia and Hank locked up, cleaned up and then went upstairs to make love.
Early the next morning, Hank got a call about a case. He told Olivia that once he was done, he would come home and they would spend some time together. Hank kissed her and then after he left, Olivia started looking online for places. When they were back at the District, Hank told the squad what was going on.
"I was wondering if what was going on had something to do with Chief Reid wanting me to stay with Intelligence."
"Anything is possible. I have a feeling Chief Reid wants to bring the entire unit down. Olivia said she would help in any way and I even ASA Chapman's support. I just want to do this the right way and by the book. Just like we need to start doin' stuff by the book by the time Olivia transfers here."
"We get it, Boss."
"I need to go. Olivia wants to spend some time together and we need to look at places anyway. If you need any warrants, contact Nina."
"Copy you, Sarge. I will only contact you if it's an emergency."
"Ok. If you need anything else, let Trudy know."
"Ok."
Hank grabbed his coat and left to head home. When he arrived, Olivia was still looking at places online. Hank went over and kissed her.
"Hey, beautiful."
"Hey. How was your case?"
"It was fine. I talked to the squad and everyone is in on wanting to help bring Reid down."
"That's good."
"Did you find anything?"
"There a few that might be possibilities."
Olivia showed Hank the places she found and Hank liked them too, so he contacted a realtor he knew, so they could go see these places. They were meeting the realtor at 1.
"Do you think Noah will be ok with whatever we choose?"
"I think so. He wants a bigger bedroom than what he has at this house. Some of the bedrooms look pretty big but we won't know until we see them in person."
"Right."
"We would need at least 4 bedrooms. If we have to, the boys can be in the same room and we would need an office or some place to lock our guns up. Noah has been hinting for a while that he would like a pet. I don't know your feelings on that."
"I'm fine with that and I'd be fine with a cat or a dog. Maybe once we're back from our honeymoon, we can go to the Animal Shelter."
"That sounds like a plan to me. Who are we going to have him stay with when we're gone? Mostly everyone we know is a cop, doctor or firefighter."
"I talked to Boden and he said he can stay with them. Donna is a teacher, so she's off all summer. She will also be more than happy to spend time with him while he's off for the summer or other days there's no school."
"Good to know. He thinks he's too old to have someone stay with him and I do let him stay by himself for a few hours."
"I think minimum age here is 14."
"I told him all states are different."
"I don't think leavin' him on his own from the time he gets home from school until the time we get home would be too much of a problem. We could always pick him up and have him stay at the District."
"That too."
"I'm thinkin' about rentin' my house instead of sellin' it."
"I guess that's your choice. If no one is there and we have company, they can stay here too."
"Exactly."
Hank and Olivia went up to the bedroom and made love before they found something for lunch. After lunch, they met with the realtor and looked at the houses they were interested in. They had a hard time deciding which one they liked.
"I like all of them."
"Which one can we see ourselves livin' in?"
"That's why I can't decide. I've never done this before. Maybe we should get Noah involved and he'll like one of them over the other. Would it be possible to look at all these places again if I can get my 13-year old son here?"
"Of course."
"Come to think of it, I think he's off tomorrow."
Olivia called Carisi.
"Hey, Liv. What's goin' on?"
"The kids are off tomorrow, aren't they?"
"Yeah and the nanny is off for the rest of the week, so my mom is stayin' with them."
"If I purchase a ticket, can you or someone get Noah to the airport? Hank and I are looking at houses and we can't choose. We do want him to be in on the decision?"
"Yeah, sure. Just let me know when."
"Ok, thanks."
"No problem."
Olivia hung up.
"Can we reschedule you for tomorrow?"
"I'm available at 10am if that works."
"That's perfect."
Everyone left and Hank and Olivia went home to see if she could get Noah on a flight to Chicago. She found one leaving around 6 pm from LaGuardia to O'Hare. She booked a seat for him and informed them that he was 13 and flying unaccompanied. She put Hank down as the person that would meet him at the gate. She called Carisi back and he said he will take Noah to the airport himself and stay with him until the flight leaves. Once Olivia hung up, she sent Noah the confirmation with his ticket
"That's taken care of. Carisi is taking him and then staying with him until the flight leaves. I put you down as the person to pick him up, since you know O'Hare a little better than I do. The flight leaves from LaGuardia around 6, so a couple hours anyway."
"I may need to get there early to be able to meet the flight at the gate."
"Yeah, I think you do."
The rest of the afternoon went by quickly. Sonny had gotten Noah at school and told him what was going on. He checked his phone and saw the email from Olivia. They went to get his stuff and then Sonny took him to get a bite to eat before they headed to the airport. When they got to the airport, Noah got checked in and Sonny was able to go to the gate with him.
"Thanks for bringing me, Uncle Sonny."
"You're welcome, Noah."
"Did Mom say something was wrong?"
"No, not at all. They were lookin' at places and wanted you to see them too. They were havin' a hard time choosin'."
"That makes sense."
They talked until the flight started to board.
"Ok, kiddo. See you when you and your mom get back."
"Yep. Thanks again."
"Sure."
Noah hugged Sonny and waited to board the plane and then they showed him where his seat was. Once the plane took off, Sonny left and headed home to the kids. On his way, he left Olivia know that the flight had taken off on time and they had stopped for something to eat before they headed to the airport. She thanked him for his help and said she would see him when she got back.
A couple hours later, Hank had made sure the flight was arriving on time before he headed to O'Hare. He arrived at the airport and went to the ticket agent to let them know that he was there to pick up an unaccompanied minor coming in from LaGuardia. He also gave them the flight number. He showed them his ID and then he was given a pass to go to the gate. While he was waiting, he texted Olivia to let her know he was there and waiting at the gate. He would let her know when they were on their way back. When the flight arrived, Hank got up and waited for the door to open. One of the flight attendants had walked him off to make sure he got to where he needed to go.
"Do you see your dad?"
"Yep. He's right there. Thank you."
"You're welcome."
Noah went over to Hank and gave him a big hug.
"How was your flight, kiddo?"
"It was good."
"Good. Did you check a bag in when you boarded?"
"Yeah."
They went down to Baggage Claim and then they waited for Noah's suitcase. After he got it, they went to the parking garage to where the SUV was and got in. Hank drove home and called Olivia on the way. When they arrived at the house, they went inside and Olivia was watching TV.
"Hi Mom."
"Hey, sweetie. Did everything go ok?"
"Yeah."
Noah went over and gave Olivia a hug.
"So, you're having trouble choosing a house?"
"We are. We want this to be the right fit for all of us and that includes you with your new bedroom. We're meeting with the realtor again tomorrow morning at 10."
"Sounds like a plan. Can I see the ones you like?"
Olivia pulled them up on the laptop and showed Noah.
"The pictures don't really do them justice and they are all nice. The bedrooms seem like they are all a nice size. We're thinking 5 bedrooms but would you have a problem sharing with Daniel like you do here?"
"I don't have a problem with that at all."
"We'd probably use one of the bedrooms for an office. That way, Erin and Olive can have their own space when they're here."
Noah continued looking.
"I can see why you can't choose. These all look amazing."
"I knew you'd understand. Is your homework done?"
"I worked on some of it on the plane."
"Why don't you take your stuff upstairs and work on it for a little while before you go to bed."
"Ok."
Noah went upstairs and worked on his homework. Hank went into the kitchen. The doorbell rang, so Olivia went to get it. It was Nina.
"Hey. Come on in."
"Thanks. Is Hank here?"
"He just went into the kitchen."
Noah came back downstairs.
"I need a snack. Sorry. I didn't know we had company."
"It's ok. Noah, this is Nina Chapman, the Assistant State's Attorney, who works with Hank. Nina, this is my son Noah."
"Hi Noah. It's nice to meet you."
"You too, Ms. Chapman."
"You can call me Nina."
"Ok. Excuse me."
Hank came out of the kitchen as Noah headed that way.
"Hey, what's going on?"
"I was able to find something more on Reid."
Noah came out of the kitchen with his snack and headed back upstairs, while everyone else went into the living room.
"I heard from one of the ASAs in Detroit. Apparently Reid has had family members of witnesses killed to get them to talk."
"So, then that's the reason Kaiden talked as soon as the lawyer he never asked for got there. He's obviously workin' for Reid or Otero."
"That would be my guess. The ASA I spoke with said he never trusted Reid and he hopes we are able to take him down, since he never was able to there. He said if there is anything else he can help with to let him know."
"Do you know who his preferred ASA is here?"
"I'm still looking into that. The warrant I said I couldn't get that Reid got was not in the system, so obviously it was done under the table. That probably also means the Judge is working for Reid too."
"It's obvious to me that Reid wanted the other drug dealers and gangs in that area dealt with, so Otero could be able to do whatever he wanted. Anything that happened would then be blamed on the unit that was there. In this case, it was us."
"That would be my guess. Just make sure you watch your back. Both of you. Right now, Olivia is indirectly involved but once she transfers here, she'll be more involved. "
"I know, you too. I'm hopin' this will be over with before Olivia transfers here. I know how a lot of these gangs operate since I was with the Gang Unit before Intelligence and we deal with the drug thing all the time. I don't want anyone I care about getting' hurt. That includes you. Keep me informed of anything else you find out."
"I will. You too. I'm in the process of looking into everyone at the State's Attorney's Office. Who else have you worked with?"
"Mostly Kot, Stone, Valdez and Osha."
"I doubt it's any of them."
"I wish I knew what happened to Stone."
"No one here knows anything either."
"He had such a hard time after his sister was murdered."
"What happened?"
Olivia told Nina what happened to Peter's sister.
"Oh, wow! I never met him but I've heard of him."
"He wasn't one of my favorite people when we first met but I tried to support him after what had happened to Pamela."
Olivia told her what happened with Barba and why she didn't like Peter when she first met him.
"Hank didn't like me when we first met either."
"I do appreciate you being there for him after he was found after he was taken by that serial killer."
"I was really worried about him but he never mentioned that he had someone in his life until yesterday."
"I don't like talkin' about my personal life but I knew I was gonna have to tell you because of what happened several months ago. My squad obviously knows but they know to leave me alone when Olivia is around unless they really need me."
"I had gotten a call from Trudy when he was missing but couldn't get here to help because of my case load. I got here as soon as I could though."
"He means a lot to me."
"I understand that. When my former partner came back to the NYPD and after his wife died, he admitted he had feelings for me. I told him I couldn't reciprocate those feelings because I was with someone and happy. A part of me can't completely forgive Elliot for leaving for 10 years without any communication whatsoever but we agreed to be friends. The feelings were there and we were close when we worked together but I respected that he was married. A couple years ago, he and I were working on a case together and I ended up getting shot. The person that shot me had used tear gas and I reacted quickly enough to cover my eyes with a wet napkin. Elliot couldn't see and together we shot and killed the guy that shot me. I was hit in the hip area and he picked me up to take me out. I had to be his eyes to get him out of there. Hank was grateful that Elliot was there for me and he was the one that called Hank to let him know what happened. Hank was the one that helped him deal with the loss of his wife and they ended up becoming friends, which I never expected since they have similar personalities. I pointed that out to Hank when we first met. Hank knew I had mixed feelings about Elliot returning to the NYPD but he said he trusted me and he's fine with Elliot being in my life. Besides Fin, who's my Sergeant, Hank knows Elliot will watch out for me. I trust Hank and if he wants you in his life, I'm fine with that. He can be a little rough around the edges sometimes but he's one of the most loyal men I have ever met and he always looks out for the people he cares about. He is also very open and honest with me about things, so I was aware of that conversation between the two of you. One of the things we agreed on was that we were going to tell each other everything. I'm glad he has someone besides his squad looking out for him when I'm not around."
"I've just never felt a connection to anyone like I have Hank. We don't always see eye to eye though."
"I know how that goes. Besides Noah and my current squad, my only family is Hank and his family. My mother died 20-some years ago and my half-brother died a few years ago of a drug overdose after telling me he had been clean for 5 years. Someone actually injected him with heroin."
"I'm sorry to hear that."
"Thanks. My friend at the ME's office called me and said I was down as the next of kin. I tried contacting his ex-wife but she didn't to deal with it. The thing is, I have a niece that I don't know. I think I met her once when she was a baby. It is what it is. The guy I was with before Hank and I officially got together invited me to his retirement party and later told me he had brain cancer related to 9/11. He told me they had found spots on his lungs around the time we started seeing each other but he never said anything. He was given 6 months to a year to live. He had gotten married 6 months earlier but never told his wife. Someone I went through the academy with had accused Ed's former partner of rape and Ed of covering it up. She ended up killing herself. We investigated it and he helped us take him down. After that, Ed ended up taking his own life, since he didn't want his wife to have to take care of a dying man but he left her a note and his pension. We hadn't seen each other much since we ended things but it was still hard. He took me to Paris and the last thing he said to me was that we would always have Paris. Thankfully Hank had come in that night and I was so glad he was there. I told him what happened by pretty much collapsed in his arms and stayed that way most of the night. It was hard telling Noah too."
"Just like you were here after Olinsky died."
"Exactly."
"Being long distance can't be easy though."
"It's not but we've seemed to make it work. I worked harder at this relationship than I have with any other relationship I have been in. The problem I have with most of my relationships is that I tend to not disclose them if I get involved with someone I work with, which is why Hank disclosed to CPD about our relationship when I decided to transfer here."
Olivia told Nina about David and also about the case involving Ed's cousin. Nina left and then Hank and Olivia went upstairs. They checked on Noah and then they went into the bedroom. They made love and then got ready for bed. By then Noah had gone to bed himself.
The next morning, they got up and got ready. They went out for breakfast before they met the realtor. This time they were able to decide on a place and put a bid on it. Then they headed home for lunch.
"All those places were amazing!"
"They were, which is why we had a hard time choosing. I think I liked the place we decided on the best yesterday too."
"Yeah, me too. Hopefully everything will start fallin' into place for us."
"Me too."
"I'm gonna miss my friends in New York but I'm looking forward to moving here."
"I agree. I just want us in one city. I want everyone to come visit us when we're settled in the new place."
"Hopefully that'll be by the wedding."
"That'll be nice."
They had lunch and then Noah went up to do his homework, while Hank and Olivia relaxed.
"I meant what I told Nina last night. If you want her in your life as a friend, I trust you and I'm ok with it."
"I do care about her and if anyone comes after her, I would probably react the same way I would if it was you, Noah, Erin, Olive, Daniel, anyone in my squad or anyone else I care about."
"I would do the same with Elliot but I will never love him the way I love you."
"I trust you too."
Hank kissed Olivia and then decided to run out to the store to get something for dinner, while Olivia went up to the bedroom to take a nap. When Hank got back, he put the groceries away and then he started looking online to find somewhere for their honeymoon. Olivia had woken up and came downstairs.
"What are you up to?"
"I'm tryin' to pick a place for our honeymoon."
"What are my choices?"
"Italy, Greece, Hawaii or an Alaskan Cruise. I know you're not ready to go to Paris again."
"I would love to experience Italy or Greece with you but I would also love to go on an Alaskan cruise. Would we have time to do Greece?"
"The wedding is on the 14th, so that gives us 2 weeks. I have the time to take off."
"Let's do that."
"Ok."
Hank booked a trip to Greece for their honeymoon.
"I have I mentioned how much I love you lately?"
"You might have but you can always tell me again."
"I love you, Hank Voight and I cannot wait to be your wife."
"I love you too, Olivia Benson and I can't wait to be your husband."
They kissed and then they snuggled on the sofa for a while. They went to start dinner and then they ate as a family. They told Noah they were going to be going to Greece for a couple weeks for their honeymoon. After dinner they watched a movie before bed.
The next day, Olivia and Noah were leaving to head home. Since Olivia had gotten a rental, they would be heading to the airport on their own. Late morning, Hank had gotten a call about a case, so he had to leave. He said goodbye to Olivia and Noah and headed wherever he needed to go. A little while later, they left for the airport. They returned the rental and headed to the terminal to get checked in. After they went through security, they grabbed a bite to eat before heading to the gate.
"Mom."
"What, sweetie?"
"I'm really looking forward to being here all the time. I miss Hank when we aren't with him."
"I agree. I hope we can get that house."
"Me too. Like I said, I get why you couldn't decide on which one. They were all amazing."
"I know. There is so much room in all of those compared to Hank's current house or even our apartment. Hank said maybe once we're back from our honeymoon, we will go to an Animal Shelter and look into adopting a cat or a dog."
"Ok. I can live with that."
"Hank also said that you can stay with the Bodens while we're gone. His wife is a teacher and would love to have you around. He's going to make sure they're ok with you staying there for a couple weeks."
"They are such nice people and Terrance is cool too."
"If we had another option, we would do that but unfortunately we don't."
"I know. Erin will be in New York and so is everyone else like Uncle Sonny and Aunt Amanda. If Olive was closer, I could do that too."
"Right. 14 is the minimum age to stay by yourself here."
Olivia's phone rang, so she answered it, since she noticed it was Olive.
"Hey, Olive."
"Hey. How is everything going?"
"Not too bad. Noah and I are at the airport waiting for our flight to New York. We went looking at houses this weekend and put a bid on something. It has plenty of room."
"That's great. I'll have to check it out, so you'll have to give me the address."
"I will do that. How's Daniel?"
"He's doing great. He's looking forward to his Spring Break soon."
"Are you still planning to come to New York?"
"I have the reservations made. Is Hank planning to come out?"
"As far as I know."
"I need to run something by you before I talk to Hank. The company I work for wants me to transfer to the Chicago office. It's the same position but they are giving me a pay increase. Do you think Hank would object to having us live in his current house? I think Justin would love for Daniel to grow up where he was raised."
"I don't think he'd have a problem with it. He's actually been talking about wanting to rent the house out versus selling it. I think he would be happy to have his grandson so close."
"Daniel is excited. I am too but I don't know that I want to deal with winter again. Although that might be better than dealing with 100 or more during the summer."
"You can always visit your sister if you need to get away from the cold."
"True."
"When does this happen?"
"Probably around the time you start your job. I've already started going though stuff. Daniel doesn't seem to want to part with some of the toys he has outgrown."
"Noah still has his stuffed elephant. It seems like I recently got rid of some of the things he outgrew. I need to do that with my own stuff."
"I've already packed some stuff like the heavy winter stuff that we don't need right now."
"I get that."
"Did you two ever pick a honeymoon location?"
"We actually did that yesterday. We're going to Greece for two weeks."
"Oh, wow! That sounds so amazing!"
"I'm hoping it will be."
"Who is Noah staying with?"
"Hank said the Bodens but he was going to see if two weeks was going to be a problem. We weren't even going to bother with asking Erin. I think we're lucky she's even going to be here for the wedding."
"What are you going to do if she can't make it?"
"Honestly, I haven't even thought about that but I'd probably have you be the Maid of Honor and have to get someone else as a Bridesmaid. Maybe Trudy. I just hope if she can't make it, she gives me plenty of warning."
"That would make sense. If the Bodens have a problem with keeping Noah for the two weeks, I could always take him back with me."
"I'll see what happens."
"Do you see Erin a lot?"
"Not really. She usually lets me know when she's going to be gone but the stops her mail, since I'm back and forth to Chicago so much. I can't wait to be here all the time. He had to go into work today, so he left a few hours before we did."
"Too bad you couldn't have spent more time together before you left."
"Actually, that made it easier. If he's there when we leave, then it's makes it too hard to let go. I miss Hank so much when we aren't together."
"It's nice to see him so happy. I never knew Camille but Justin told me a lot about her. One thing he did tell me was that he wanted his dad to find happiness again. I think he knew Hank was in love with you."
"I just wish I had seen it sooner and he said he would have left Chicago for me if things had happened a lot sooner than they did."
"I don't doubt that."
"When Hank was taken by that serial killer last year, he told me he saw Alvin Olinsky. He told him it wasn't his time and there was still more to do. Hank said the 5 of us is what got him through that ordeal. I know his job gets to him sometimes but I understand that because mine gets to me sometimes too. The last thing he wants is to have someone come after someone he loves. I already had that when Elliot came back and Wheatley's ex-wife had someone run me off the road after she had his wife killed."
"What happened to Hank was pretty scary and we were all worried about you after your accident."
"I know. I'm just glad Hank was around when I was recovering. Elliot blames himself for what happened and it wasn't his intention to get me in the middle of it but then again, my unit already was involved. We both understand why Barba did what he did."
"Is Barba coming to the wedding?"
"He said he was and he was probably going to bring his mom. Most of my friends from New York are planning to be here and they told me that once they had gotten the Save the Date card in the mail. If something comes up in the meantime, I completely understand. However, the one person I may not be too happy with if she backs out of this is Erin. I'm hoping she'll be home some of the time you and Daniel are in New York, since I want to go dress shopping. It almost would have made more sense for all of us to come to Chicago, so I don't have to pack my dress."
Olivia and Olive talked for a little while longer and then before they hung up, Olivia gave her the address of the place she and Hank put the bid on. A little while later, they boarded the plane. After a while, the plane took off for New York. When they arrived in New York, they got their stuff and headed home. Neither of them was looking forward to going back to school or work.
