We come back to the Irongate dual arena as the Cyborg and his group look at Blaze and Iroh ready to give them there welcoming party.
"You ready everyone, let's see what she is made of" The cyborg said to his friends. He approaches Blaze while Iroh was a bit nervous "Now then, let me explain how things work around here, first day here everyone duals. If you dual good you have respect however don't get any ideas as I am the best in this place."
Iroh looks at the cyborg as if he recognises him, he then gets excited as he did know him and said "Oh my, of course you are the best here. You're Grievous!" He looks to Blaze "He's a Pro-Duelist" He looks back to Grievous "and I'll admit I was your biggest fan back in the day. If it's not too much, may I have your autograph please?"
Grievous gets very angry and said to Iroh "Of course! But you should know I only sign in black and blue!"
His posse looks shocked and uncomfortable as one of them named Wiz whispers to Boomstick "Oh geez, the old man had that reaction coming."
"Yeah, Grievous does hate it when anyone brings up his past" Boomstick said nodding in agreement
"Congratulations, you have your first opponent old man, it's me" Grievous said to Iroh "and I will be mopping the floor with that beard of yours! And since you have no deck to use, you'll have to use a reject one we scrounged together"
Iroh chuckles and said "Actually, I managed to smuggle my own deck in Grievous and it's the best deck ever made." Greivous gives a smiling look intrigued "I call it My Treasure Deck and it's pack with relics, fossils, antiques!" He begins pulling the cards out his robe showing them "See? See? See? It's all right here" He shows everyone
"A treasure deck?" Wiz asked in disbelief
"How in blazes did a tea maker get that?" Boomstick asked also in disbelief.
"Hm, either way they won't help you, old timer" Grievous said not worried at all. He looks to Blaze who has remained silent and asked "So what about you? Where's your deck?"
"Not with me, Republic Security took it off me" Blaze said sighing
Grivous chuckles and said, "Once I am through with Uncle here, I'll rustle up some cards for you, then I will teach you some things about duelling here in Irongate." He gets close to say into her ear "and you will believe it'll be a lesson you won't soon forget"
This angered Blaze as she glares at the cyborg, however Iroh gets between them and said smiling "Okay now, calm down everyone. This isn't my first time in this place, so I know how the rules work here. If I win against you Grievous, then it means I'm in charge."
"Yeah, like that would actually happen!" Grievous yelled out at the insinuation we would lose to this old man.
"Well if your so confident, how about we get this duel started so I can end it" Iroh said smiling and excited as he gets a duel disk on him "Whoooo hoooo! I will tell you outside of owning my own tea shop this is a dream come true Grievous! Duelling my hero!"
"Will you shut up and go!" Grievous said annoyed as two stood at opposite ends of the duelling field.
"I would be careful Grievous" Wiz warned his boss concerned "Because if his deck is for real, then you might have a fight on your hands."
Grievous smirks confidently and said, "Like that treasure deck is real, don't make me laugh."
"Oh, they are the real deal, promise" Iroh said confidently and looks to Blaze to say, "and they'll put me in charge of this place." Blaze looks on curious she was unsure how well Iroh will do in this duel but it will help give her and idea on Grievous playstyle and with that and whatever deck she gets, she can form a strategy to counter it hopefully
"Hey uncle, age before beauty!" Grievous called out to him
Iroh laughs at that "I get it, you mean I'm first" he said smiling and both begin the duel he chuckles as he draws his card "Watch this!" He looks at it and his hand and pulls a card that was a water attribute glass skull with zero attack and defence points "A priceless artifact. I got this one during my last amazing journey I befriended an ancient tribe of Aztec warriors who showed me around the forbidden temple where they gifted me this card in honour of…"
"Save the stories for bedtime uncle and make your move" Grievous said cutting Iroh off on how he acquired a card based on the crystal skull from Aztecs.
"Where they gifted me this!" Iroh said and kisses the card "Based on the actual one, the anchent relic The Crystal Skull!" He plays it in defense mode
The Dual tutorial plays and it says, "Crystal Skull is a monster card that deals 1000 points of damage to it's controller when it is summoned."
The Crystal Skull comes out of the ground as it is summoned much to the shock of the onlookers at it. Iroh laughs and said "So, who's laughing now Grievous?" However, when it is fully on the field, Crystal Skulls special effect activates, and it literally electrocutes Iroh for 1000 Life Points of damage
"You didn't do that much research on it did you gramps" Wiz laughed along with the others at Iroh's misfortune
"It looks like, his treasure has its own curse too" Boomstick said laughing "After all, he lost life points just summoning it!"
Iroh a bit disoriented then recovers and said "Well, of course. That curse proves it's no fake! The Aztecs told me it was the real deal and not a counterfeit copy of the card."
"Oh, and what else did they promise you? The fall of the Fire Nation?" Boomstick asked laughing and mocking Iroh.
"Hey uncle, I have an anchent artifact for you, it's your wardrobe and hairstyle. One thing those Aztecs didn't give you was a mirror." Wiz said and everyone laughs.
Grievous laughs as well and said "Indeed, and not to mention deodorant to cover that tea smell."
"You think your funny?!" Iroh said annoyed at there mocking "Just you wait, the ancient and mystical powers of the Crystal Skull will stop you in your tracks!"
"Alright uncle, story time is over" Grievous said getting serious now. "Now it's mine turn" He draws his card. He then plays it "I'll start out with this, my spell card Cost Down.
The Dual Tutorial plays and shows a card with an image of two swords embedded in a cards star level and it explains "Cost Down, is a spell card that downgrades all the monsters in your hand by two levels until the end of your turn"
"Err…why did you do that?" Iroh asked confused
"Heh, cause you're a funny guy uncle and I want the chance to humiliate you even more" Grievous said smugly and he gets a card from his hand "And this guy should keep the misery coming, I summon Ushi Oni! And he's worse then anyone you might run into here!"
Iroh screams as a giant blue bodied bull-headed creature with tentacles coming from his back emerging from a bottle is summoned out with 2150 Attack points and roars.
Seeing the freaked outlook on Iroh, Grievous chuckles and said "You look scared Uncle, and you should be, because my Ushi Oni is about to turn your Crystal Skull into an Aztec ruin. Ushi Oni, take out that ancient relic!" Ushi Oni obeys and attacks
"You can't! The Crystal Skul is a priceless artifact!" Iroh said in a panic but screams as the monster destroys it. Grievous friends cheer as Iroh is in shock "Do you know what you just done?!"
"Of course, Uncle, I destroyed a priceless artifact so guess what, now it really is ancient history" Grievous said smirking and looks at Iroh. "It's your turn now."
"Well, let's see what other treasures I have to show you" Iroh said smiling "Watch this" He draws his card and smiles excited at it "Ahhhh! This was a rare find indeed" He laughs while everyone looks concerned. He explained "During my adventures in India I this Ashoka Pillar when I was looking for the lost city of the Mauryan empire!" He plays it
It was a large stone pillar, Earth attribute with 0 Attack points but 2200 Defence points. It emerges from the ground in defence mode and Iroh laughs excited.
"Amazing…" Drakkon said in awe at it.
"If I'm honest looks more like a giant lamp post to me" Boomstick said shrugging.
"Yeah, it doesn't really some so special" Wiz said shrugging as well and grinning.
"Well, it actually is" Iroh said smiling and explained "You see, the Ahsoka Pillar is a symbol of great strength to the Mauryan culture. It's over a millennia old and no one knows how it was created. Through I have some theories on it."
"Hey Uncle! Give that Academy lecture a break will you!" Grievous said more annoyed now "They tried teaching me all that stuff at the Re-education centre and I flunked the test a dozen times!"
"Oh, well I'd be willing to tutor you in all the relevant texts if you like" Iroh said as he gets a card from his hand which was a spell card with a weird mask on it. "First it's this spirt mask card, it's a treasured artifact from an African tribe" He plays it and the mask equips onto the Ashoka Pillar but nothing else happens
"Ha, all I see that being good for is Halloween" Grievous said unafraid of it.
"But it has vast supernatural powers" Iroh said confident adding "All you have to do is wait till next turn."
"I am afraid I won't!" Grievous said and draws his card "You know it was amusing at first, but I am done with hearing about Aztec this and Ahsoka that and African whatever! So, I will end this lecture of yours and start one of my own!"
Blaze looks at him and is nervous for Iroh, that sounded like Grievous was going to end this duel here and now.
"For you see, I rule this place and it's time you losers learn a lesson in respect!" Grievous boasted and he said while sending Ushi Oni's card to the graveyard "Now let's get started"
Iroh nervous said "Uh oh…"
"I summon Giant Ushi Oni!" Grievous calls out and Ushi Oni is replaced by a half blue minotaur, half spider like monster with 2600 Attack points. This petrifies Iroh "Hey uncle! I'd advise you to close your eyes, unless you want to see your pillar's destruction."
Giant Ushi Oni jumps up and strikes at Ahsoka Pillar destroying it easily.
"Ha, so much for that" Wiz said confidently while Iroh screams and covers from the debris which vanishes.
Grievous chuckles amused and said, "But wait guys, the old guy wasn't lying about that pillars strength." Iroh looks at him surprised at that "It's because as soon as it gets destroyed! It delivers 2000 points of damage to its owner!" Iroh is then struck by lightning and is reduced to his final 1000 life points. "Oh, and we can't forget about your Supernatural Spirit Mask. It went straight to the graveyard which means you take one card from your hand and put it in afterwards, so it has some company"
"Oh, yeah…" Iroh said deflated as he puts his card into the graveyard.
"You know what, Grievous was right, should have saved the mask for a masquerade ball of something" Wiz said mockingly. This made Blaze growl a bit annoyed as all duel these guys have just been making fun of Iroh's deck.
"If you want to see some real magic, check out my Ushi's special ability" Grievous said grinning "If he destroys a monster in battle, he gets to attack you all over again!" His monster roars "Now Giant Ushi Oni, attack!"
Iroh screams in a panic as the monster comes right at him and he falls over just as the monster collides, this resulted in his deck being spread across the floor as his LP is reduced to zero.
Blaze goes to check and help him up "Iroh! Are you okay?" Iroh recovers and in worry goes of to collect his cards concerned for them
"Class dismissed" Grievous said smirking at his easy win. He then walks forward "You might have been in this place before Uncle, but you never duelled with the likes of me." Iroh nearly had all his cards gather and looks behind him to see his Crystal Skull card which Grievous steps on much to his shock "Since you lost, it means I'm still in charge of this place. Now get out my sight and leave your precious treasures with me! They will be added to my personal collection."
Iroh tears in his eyes said "Please Grievous, let me keep my deck. I spent most of my life collecting these rare cards. These cards are all I have left after losing my son, you must understand, they the only thing I have connecting me to him." As Iroh pleads Blaze felt the rage and anger fill her at this.
"These cards are so special and delicate that they require proper supervision!" Iroh continued trying to get Grievous to move his leg of it "I've climbed the tallest mountains, I survived vast wastelands, I travelled to both the North and South Water Tribes and in all these amazing travels I tell my nephew in letters about. There's nothing more precious than these cards that my son wanted to collect! Just open your heart and let me keep them safe and sound!"
Grievous said nothing and began scrapping his foot side to side with the card underneath, while he was a bit touched by the old man's pleads, he can't afford to look weak to someone who had a humiliating defeat in this place.
"Ah! You can't do this!" Iroh pleads more
Suddenly Greivous feels a hand on his arm and a bit of a burning feeling. He looks to see Blaze the who promptly kicks his legs knocking him to the ground. Grievous groans sitting up and is annoyed "Looks like you just earned yourself a dual kitty"
Blaze looks down at the upset Iroh and calms herself as she asked him "Can I borrow your cards?" Iroh looks up shocked at her "I can see the true value of your Treasure Deck, especially since it carries the soul and memories of your son."
"What?" Iroh said as both he and Grievous were shocked she wanted to use a deck that already lost to the cyborg's own deck
"So, you think this Treasure Deck is worthless?" Blaze asked getting the dual disc on and standing up "Then prove it Grievous!"
"So, I have too dual you, with that deck?" Grievous said confidently and standing up "Please, I want a worthy challenge."
"And I promise you'll get one" Blaze states and adds "You said we dual for respect here, I think it is finally time to learn that that means."
Iroh looks on and smiles while Grievous looks in Blaze's eyes and sees a fire in it, it was the same one he knows too well and the reason he targeted Blaze in the first place. This dual just might he worth is after all as he chuckles in amusement and excitement.
Well looks like Blaze is going to take on Grievous and avenge Iroh's humiliation.
