Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's Episode 7 Pt 2
Back at the dual it was time for Blaze to make her move, so far Grievous has one powerful monster and two face down cards.
"My move Grievous" Blaze said and draws the card and sees it was a spell card with Crystal Skull, Achoka Piller and an unknown stone on it 'This won't help now' she thought
"Ah, some advice, whatever you do don't use the Crystal Skull" Iroh warned her remembering what happened when he played it.
"Oh, good idea, the Crystal Skull" Blaze said and goes to play it
"What are you…. I said don't use it! Don't you remember what it did to me?!" Iroh said in a panic now.
"I summon Crystal Skull in defence mode!" Blaze called out and the monster was summoned, then its special ability activates and sends a purple blast that surrounds Blaze
"Well, don't say I didn't warn you" Iroh said worried now
Grievous' goons all laugh at the cat's stupid move in their minds. However Grievous wasn't laughing he was more confused and asked "Don't you know that skull is cursed? Why would play a card that attacks yourself?"
"That's an excellent question, why would I?" Blaze asked and with the not worried look on her face unnerved Grievous a bit "It would be a stupid move, unless I had something like this" She play a spell card with a paper doll absorbing purple energy and shooting out black mini versions of it back at the sender.
"Oh, I do remember that one" Iroh said recognizing it as the spell sends out the paper doll and it goes into the energy spell "I got it from a friendly Mandrill Sharman in Africa, but he never got the chance to tell me how it worked"
The paper doll absorbs the purple energy turning black and separates into thousands of smaller versions of itself and all head straight for Grievous. "What's going on?!" Grievous said shocked as he braced himself as he is hit for a 1000 damage while Blaze's LP was untouched.
"Errr…could someone explain to me what just happened?" Boomstick as he and the others were very confused "It looked like everything played out opposite to what happened last time."
"Grivous ended up losing 1000 life points while the new girl didn't take any damage at all." Wiz explained as best he could understand what happened.
"How did you do that? What was that card you played?" Grievous asked in disbelief and shock
"The Curse Reflection Doll" Blaze said and then explained "Normally it's meant to reflect curse attacks sent by the opponent, but I used it to turn my own curse into an attack against you" Grievous growls at that annoyed
"So, wait…the newbie found some cleaver way to put that curse in reverse?!" Wiz asked in sheer shock
"I am just glad I found another who understands the true value of these cards" Iroh said, ever since he lost his son no one else knows how special these cards are.
"Well, I never have found a card I didn't like" Blaze said surprising Iroh she looks back at him and said "You see every card is special and you just have to learn to appreciate its power to understand how to best use it"
"So, you don't think they're useless?" Iroh asked her
Blaze smiles at him and said "Not at all, in fact I think it's incredible"
This made Iroh smile and almost tear up. He said "I knew it, I just knew it"
Grievous growls annoyed a bit and Boomstick called out "Hey come on! Don't sweat it Grievous, the new cat just got lucky is all. Don't let it get to ya."
"No" Grievous said surprising his group as he continued "That wasn't luck, if my time in the Pro-duals taught me anything…" He then gives a smiling look "It was how to spot a good opponent, and something tells me this newbie might actually know what she's doing."
Blaze looks at Grievous and said, "It's your move Grievous."
Boomstick gulps and asked the others "Hey you guys, was Grievous actually being nice for once?"
"It's my turn, my draw" Grievous said drawing his card and looks at it and sees he drew Ushi Oni "Perfect, I release Jirai Gumo in order to summon Ushi Oni" Indeed the spider was sacrivied to bring forth Ushi Oni
"Now why did he do that?" Iroh asked confused "Sure there is only a 50-attack point difference but Jirai Gumo still more powerful than this monster."
"Just wait old timer" Wiz said grinning
"The real show is about to begin" Boomstick said grinning as well.
Grievous then holds out his Giant Ushi Oni card as he said, "Now I release Ushi Oni to summon Giant Ushi Oni!" And again, the monsters comply, and the half bull half spider demon monster is summoned to the field. "And next my Giant Ushi Oni is taking out your Crystal Skull!" The monster goes to attack
"Yeah! Crack up that crystal!" Wiz cheered as the others cheer too
"Oh yeah!" Boomstick cheered while Iroh looks on scared and worried
"Go Spectres Bite!" Grievous calls out as Giant Ushi Oni completes its attack and destroys the skull. Blaze was unnerved and he continued "That was only the beginning of your worries, because when Giant Ushi Oni destroys a monster in battle, it gets to attack again and with Crystal Skull gone you got no defence, so you're open for a direct attack!" He laughs as Giant Ushi Oni attacks Blaze binding her with webs reducing her life points to 1400 "You're really getting caught up in this dual, aren't you?"
"Are you okay?" Iroh asked Blaze concerned
"That was amazing" Wiz said with a smile
"This gal just hasn't got what it takes" Boomstick said smugly
"So, are you any good at all cat?" Grievous asked genuinely "Or are you the loser these guys are saying you are?"
Blaze looked on serious, she can tell she is making an impression on the cyborg, unlike with Iroh he isn't mocking her or putting her down, he was actually taking her seriously.
Back at the Stairway to Bahamut, Toffee was continuing to reveal his secrets to Predaking
"Predaking, allow me to shed some light, I am the 360th Guardian of the Star, throughout history my order has been known by many names. The Defenders of Peace, Servants to the Stars. We've sworn to maintain peace by taking the Oath of Teridax"
"The what now?" Predaking asked really confused
"It is the power that gives everything in nature it's inner essence and outward form." Toffee said, "The universe, energy, organic and cybernetic kind, Teridax is the power flowing though all these things binding them together."
"So, you're saying it's glue? You sworn allegiance to magic glue" Predaking joked smirking
"You can joke all you want, but that mark on your arm it means you are a part of something much greater and if your friend Blaze really did have a mark, then she is a part of it too"
Predaking looked unsure as he took all this in, did his former friend really have the same destiny as him, can't be."
Back at the dual it was Blaze's turn as she draws a card from her deck.
"From my hand, I summon Ashoka Pillar in defence mode!" Blaze said as the monster is summoned to the field.
The Dual tutorial plays and explains to everyone "Ashoka Pillar is a monster card that deals 2000 points of damage to it's owner when it is destroyed."
This causes Grievous' group to begin laughing as that pillar failed to impress last time. Wiz in mocking Blaze said "Ooh, look at me I just summoned a magic scratching post."
"Now you got us really scared" Boomstick mocked as well
"Knock it off you two!" Grievous yelled at his group taking them off guard and surprising Iroh. He smiles as he said, "I'm interested to see how much she can squeeze out of this deck, you got another surprise up that sleeve of yours?"
"I am all about surprises, take this card for instance" Blaze said as she plays another card "Stonehenge!" A miniature replica of the named monument appears "See the power of Stonehenge lets me summon a monster with no attack points from my graveyard, so I'm summoning Crystal Skull in defence position."
Indeed, Crystal Skull was summoned back to the field but also it's special ability kicks in again and hits Blaze for a thousand lifepoints bringing her down to just 400.
Grievous' posse laugh again, and Wiz said mocking "Is your skull as empty as that Crystal Skull?"
"Cause unless you got another of those Reflection Dolls that was the stupidest move possible" Boomstick said laughing
"Guess again boys" Grievous said clearly seeing the one thing his group missed and explained "Giant Ushi Oni can attack twice, if she hadn't summoned that skull, I would've been able to take him out after demolishing her Ashoka Pillar, but with that Crystal Skull in the way."
"Ushi Oni will have to attack it instead of her" Boomstick said now realizing the problem
"So, uh…essentially she saved herself from taking a big beating by taking a little medium size beating instead?" Wiz asked thinking.
"Correct" Grievous said but then gives a smirking look "Except she made one major mistake"
"What kind of mistake?" Boomstick asked curious
"Remember when Ushi Oni takes down that pillar, she takes 2000 points of damage" Grievous said and Wiz and Boomstick smiling getting it now.
"I'm sorry young one, I just wished I could have given you a better deck" Iroh said sighing figuring it was over now.
"Don't give up on your deck now uncle" Blaze said surprising Iroh. She then plays one card saying "I place one card face down and end my turn"
Grievous looks concerned and thought to himself 'A trap card? Now if only I can get her to use it' He gives a smirking look and says, "Don't think that face down card can save you cat!"
Despite this Grievous was getting into this dual, the purple cat is really making it a challenge for him in some ways, but he wasn't going to go down easy no matter what her strategy is.
Well here we go the dual is building it up but what does Grievous have planned
