6 months after capturing the culprit...
I knew L didn't have any parents and grew up at Wammy's House, but I didn't expect him to already have all the things for our baby. We both have our own agendas on why we agreed to get married immediately: he wanted to find more about me and I wanted to have fun in the human world. After living together for 6 months, this isn't so bad at all. I do my own things and he does his. I don't really care about romance or anything lovey-dovey... but it doesn't hurt for me to show at least a bit of affection. I do like to bake and make desserts and as long as he's a sucker on what I make; it's a win for me. As bonus, it helps me get better at making desserts. The downside of being pregnant is that I can't be at the investigations physically without raising suspicions.
As Larcy finishes baking her last batch of mini apple pies, she takes them out and cools them on a rack. Ever since their marriage, Larcy has been making sweets non-stop knowing how much her husband loves them. Not because L asked her to, but she genuinely wants to learn to make different types of desserts around the human world out of self-satisfaction. She knows it's not normal for a human to be eating sugar in large quantities everyday but lets it slide for L knowing how his biology works. For Larcy, herself, she just eats two to three meals a day and does not mind cooking for herself and may be for L.
Their days together in the same household were spent individually and separately: doing their own thing and not bother another. However, this does not mean they aren't aware of each other's activities, never talk to each other, and/or never trust each other. To L, Larcy might be the best person he has ever married and the easiest person to get along with since her intellect is above his level. At the same time, she makes it more difficult for him to know if she is truly human or not. He has already considered the possibility divorcing her depending on the situation and how necessary it is. To Larcy, she finds him amusing despite his quirks and lack of social skills. At the same time, she like to toy with his mind if she feels like it. Like L, she also considered the possibility of divorce out of necessity and would consider remarriage if the situation is favorable.
Speaking of their child, only Larcy knows their biological sex. As for their name, she has found the perfect one with no intention of changing it. For the nursery...even though it is normal for a home to have a nursery room for the newborn, she blatantly choose not too and instead put the crib in the master bedroom so she can sleep in peace knowing that the baby will be there. As for clothes, only a fool would spend hundreds of dollars on cute baby clothes without realizing that babies will soon quickly grow out of them, but not for Larcy; she only has ten gender neutral baby clothes at max for them. Besides who cares if their baby is wearing the same ten clothes? It's not like the couple would actually care to go out, socialize, and show off.
3 months later at a private hospital...
L, who is sitting on a chair in his normal position as usual, is silently waiting outside the delivery room for Larcy to give birth. Bored out of his mind, he gets up to find a vending machine. Since coming to the hospital together, the staff and patients were looking at L in surprise wondering why a beauty like Larcy would marry such a strange man. He slouches, sits weird, eats with two fingers, doesn't blink, and on top of that his hair is a mess. In their eyes, they were an odd couple. Some questioned that he might not be the father of her child at all. While others think he is a lousy husband who isn't there for his wife to support her and his looks support that. L, who already has self-esteem issues probably already thinks of himself as a terrible husband and selfish person. After an hour later, he returns to the delivery room with a nurse announcing the birth of his newborn baby girl.
L enters the room.
"Here she is," Larcy shows L their baby wrapped in a yellow blanket. She looks nothing like him and looks almost exactly like her mother. The baby opens her light crystal, blue eyes, happy to see her father. She cooed, reaching out to L with both hands. L extends his index finger to his daughter ready for her to grab. The baby smiles happily.
"Do you have a name for your daughter?" the nurse asked.
"Elle."
"Yes dear?" he replied.
Larcy giggles. "Not you L, I mean Elle, as in our daughter's name," she smiles, "I thought about naming her after you."
"You really got me," L replied in a deadpan manner.
Like everyone in the hospital, the nurses were also skeptical if this beautiful baby girl is actually his child. One asked for a paternity test to confirm for which L respond that he has done it beforehand. He gives the papers to the crude nurse to debunk the rumors of his wife having an extra-marital affair. Since they are all official documents, there was no way anyone can refute. Anyone who dares try to mess with his wife also messes with him which often results them being investigation be thrown in jail if possible. Larcy glares back at the crude nurse. With a smile, she asked the nurse if she had any children through affairs and if she (the nurse) wants to prove her (Larcy) wrong, then she should also show her the documents. The nurse left, silent and flustered. Afterwards, the other nurses started to gossip about the crude nurse.
"What a bitch. It's ashamed that it cost literally $0 to be nice and kind, but she sadly cannot afford it. Must be too expensive for her," Larcy said calmy. "This was supposed to be a happy moment for us to celebrate the birth of our daughter, but instead I get insulted for absolutely no good reason."
"I'm sorry," L looks down.
"It's not your fault. The nurses and doctors who spend their money and time getting those pieces of papers should have known better especially when kids can look completely different from their biological parents. It's natural and part of human biology. Anyways, let's not let a few bad apples spoil our day. As soon as I get out of the hospital, I'll whip up a buffet to celebrate. I know you and I might not care, but it gives me the opportunity to try make different types of desserts I have never made before."
"I'll see you soon," L leaves.
