Most people would describe Juzo Honenuki as a pretty laid-back kind of guy. And to be honest, the lipless teen would agree with that assessment. Ever since he was a kid, Honeniki always felt the need to just go with the flow and roll with wherever the wind took him, within reason of course. Such a lifestyle was the perfect way to avoid any unnecessary stress in his life and the boy's method had been pretty successful so far. It's part of the reason why you would never see him angry or bent out of shape in form or fashion.
Thankfully, Honenuki's classmates were pretty much on the same wavelength with him in that regard. In 1-B, you would rarely ever see any of the students outright angry or pissed off at one another for any reason. The only exception to that rule being Kamakiri. But even then the 'razor sharp' user's generally grouchy demeanor seldomly boiled over into anything greater than that. Most of the time it was simply annoyance at whatever task they were assigned and nothing more. As far as everyone else went, you could count on one hand the amount of times they were ever seen to be mad about something.
This is why Honenuki was having such a hard time maintaining his composure as he stood only a few meters in front of a very pissed off Izuku Midoriya. So pissed off, in fact, that various items around the boy's bedroom were beginning to float in the air around them….
"But why is he doing this though?" Tetsutetsu asked the question that everyone else seemed to be thinking. "I get that you two have history, but this is going a bit too far, right?"
Awase offered up a possible explanation. "He might still be mad about the whole Sports Festival thing. He did get a bullshit win that no one really cares about."
"I can't believe this shit." Midoriya almost growled while staring a hole into the nearby wall.
This was everyone's first time seeing the green-haired boy genuinely mad. It was almost like they were witnessing some sort of major world event unfold right before their very eyes. And to make it even more scary, Midoriya's curly hair was beginning to float upwards. Something that everyone assumed was a sign that he was unconsciously using his quirk.
Hoping to hurry up and find some sort of resolution to this obviously terrible situation, Yanagi spoke up.
"We should just go to the teachers." The girl suggested. "I think this is more than enough to get them involved."
"Hard not to agree with that." Honenuki nodded.
"Would that work though?" Tetsutetsu then asked.
"What do you mean?"
The silver-haired boy shrugged. "I mean…we don't have any actual proof that he said anything about you."
Honenuki quickly picked up what the 'steel' quirk user was putting down. "He's right. It would pretty much be us making a baseless accusation against another student. And only one of us was actually there for it."
"Would it though?" Awase then said. "We all know the guy is batshit crazy and he's a fucking hothead. I'm sure the teachers would believe us if we told them."
"I should just kick his ass and be done with it." Midoriya proposed, much to the shock of everyone in the room.
Oh yeah, they definitely couldn't let that happen. Not only would a fight between those two result in both of them being suspended from school for a couple of weeks, but it would also result in a ton of unnecessary property damage. Of course, the 1-B students were quite confident that their classmate would absolutely wipe the floor with Bakugou in an honest fight. But something like that was way too risky.
Midoriya was glad that he had the presence of mind to get all of his friends together to talk him down from doing something rash. This Bakugou business was starting to work his last nerve and the boy had half a mind to just put the guy through a wall and call it a day. Something that many would agree was quite unlike him. Unfortunately, times like this when his emotional state was a bit more volatile than usual meant that the remnants of Tatsumaki's personality was beginning to overpower his own. And everyone was well aware of how the former number four heroine liked to deal with her problems.
"That actually might not be such a bad idea."
Everyone's attention immediately turned to Tetsutetsu.
"I'm sorry?" Yanagi frowned at the boy, wondering if he actually realized what he was saying. She knew she should've called some of the other girls in for this. There was too much testosterone in this room to make a rational decision.
"Think about it." The boy continued. "Bakugou's the 'might makes right' kind of guy, isn't he?"
"It sure seems that way." Honenuki replied with a slight bit of caution.
"Maybe a good old-fashioned ass-kicking will be what he needs to finally get off Izuku's back."
"Come on man…" Awase interjected. "Do you seriously think that it would be that eas-"
Suddenly, a knock from the door caught everyone's attention. The group of students briefly wondered who it might have been. People normally don't come by Midoriya's room unless it's for something important. And since Tokage was currently off-campus with her father, the likelihood that it was her was basically zero.
Wanting to see who it was, Midoriya quickly rose from his chair and angrily moved towards the door. The boy then calmed himself down just enough by letting out a quick breath before opening it, only for his eyes to widen at who the new arrival was.
"Am I a dog, a mouse, or a rat? It doesn't matter, because I'm the principal!" Nezu said with a smile and cheerful wave as he greeted the green-haired boy. Right behind him was none other than both the homeroom teachers of 1-A and 1-B, Aizawa and Kan.
"H-hello, senseis." Midoriya gave the hero trio a polite bow. "What are you guys doing here?"
"Handling a problem." Aizawa said in his usually lazy tone of voice. The eyepatch-wearing hero looked like he was ready to drop dead at a moment's notice.
The three hero teachers then entered the room, taking a moment to look at all the students present.
'It's getting crowded in here.' Honenuki mentally commented as he moved toward the window to give himself some extra space.
Nezu then spoke after sitting atop Midoriya's desk. "We apologize for the sudden intrusion, but we felt that this would be the most efficient method of taking care of the issue that you students were currently discussing."
"You know?" Yanagi questioned the unidentified mammal.
"We do." Aizawa replied. "A couple of days ago, one of my other students told me that Bakugou tried to convince him to use his quirk on Midoriya. Apparently, to get him to admit to being a villain or something along those lines."
"I'm also aware of Yanagi-kun's brief meeting with Bakugou-kun that took place after class on Friday. I just so happened to catch it while I was doing my daily checks on the school's security system."
'Oh my god, Tsuburaba was right! The principal does spy on us in his free time!' Awase shouted inside his head.
'Damn, I guess I owe Tsuburaba-kun 500 yen.' Honenuki also thought.
'Please don't tell me that there are cameras in all of our rooms…' Tetsutetsu silently prayed. He really didn't like the idea of there being any sort of potential footage of him unwinding after a long workout.
"That motherfucker…." Midoriya cursed, much to the surprise of Kan who had never heard such language from the boy before. "It was Shinsou, wasn't it?"
"That doesn't matter." Aizawa replied. Although, the man was impressed that the boy was able to piece that together so quickly. He remembered hearing from the other teachers that Midoriya was rather quick on his feet.
Nezu then re-took control of the conversation. "In any case, although I have already decided on what the punishment will be for Bakugou-kun for his actions up until this point, I believe that this is a good opportunity for you two!"
"What do you mean, sir?" Yanagi asked.
"It is obvious to me that Bakugou-kun won't stop this little game of his until he firmly establishes dominance over Midoriya-kun, who he sees as the main threat to his superiority over his fellow students. Aside from Todoroki-kun that is. And this talk about you being a potential agent of the villains is just a mere symptom of that."
"That makes sense." Tetsutetsu nodded his head.
"I plan on remedying this issue in steps. And after some careful consideration, I've concluded that one of those steps needs to be the two of you hashing out your differences in a way that he would find satisfying."
…
…
…
…
…
…
It took the students all of ten seconds to figure out what the man was saying to them. And to be honest, they were all absolutely certain that they had misinterpreted what he said. Of course they did, because the alternative was actually insane. No, it wasn't just insane, it was downright ridiculous.
"Timeout!" Honenuki held up his hands in "T" shape. "This seems like the kind of conversation that the four of us shouldn't be here for."
"You're right." Kan agreed. "We were planning on having this chat with Midoriya alone, but since all of you were just brainstorming on how to go about handling this situation it means that you're involved too."
"Shit!" Awase cursed.
"Do you understand what I'm saying, Midoriya-kun?" Nezu then turned his attention to the green-haired boy.
Midoriya briefly contemplated over what he just heard. Normally, the boy wouldn't go for this kind of thing since it was completely unnecessary. However, thanks to his current state of mind he was giving it way more thought than what he probably should have. Besides, he was already planning on doing something along those lines before the teachers walked in.
"You're really okay with me and him fighting?"
"Think of it as a friendly spar between two students who are having trouble working out their differences."
'Friendly…right…' Yanagi deadpanned. She really couldn't believe what she was hearing.
"For the record." Aizawa then spoke up. "This isn't a new thing at U.A.. There have been plenty of times throughout the school's history that we've had students who couldn't work out their differences and just fight it out. It happens at least a couple of times a year."
"Really?" Awase raised his eyebrows in surprise.
"I'm surprised you haven't heard about it." Kan then said with a slight laugh. "From what I've heard, both of your sisters used to do challenges all the time. Blizzard and Psykos had a few friendly matches while they were still students here."
"That…doesn't surprise me." Midoriya then said.
Suddenly, a memory flashed through the boy's mind. One that was obviously not his. It was one of "him" floating in the air and throwing pieces of scrap metal at another student in what he assumed to be an earlier version of Training Ground Gamma. The student looked to be a younger version of the now-famous Nigerian hero, Blue Marvel. Who actually spent a year attending U.A. as an exchange student over a decade ago.
Naturally, all of the other students had their reservations about this. If Bakugou was already going to be punished for his actions, then there was no point in him and Midoriya fighting it out. If anything it seemed more than a bit irresponsible on the teacher's part to let them do such as thing. However, they would be lying if they said that the whole thing didn't have its merits. Besides, Nezu was known to be a very calculated person, even on his worst day. If he was okay with this then it should be fine.
"I think this is a bad idea." Yanagi spoke up while looking directly at Midoriya. "You don't need to do this."
"Reiko-chan's right." Honenuki backed up the 'poltergiest' user. "We all know that you'll win. Fighting the guy doesn't really prove anything that we don't already know."
"I think he should do it!" Tetsutetsu said.
The girl then sent a cold glare at the 'steel' quirk user. But to his credit, Tetsutetsu held firm in his position.
Awase seemed to mull over his thoughts for a few seconds before finally speaking his mind. "If the principal and teachers are fine with it, then it should be fine. Besides, what's better than a supervised fight? For all we know, Bakugou might try something like this anyway."
'Boys…I swear…'
So far, the group was split down the middle. But, none of that really mattered since it was ultimately Midoriya's decision to make at the end of the day. And judging by the look on the 'telekineses' user's face, they had a pretty good idea of what he was about to say.
"Just one question." Midoriya looked to Nezu. "What'll happen to Bakugou after this?"
"You don't need to concern yourself over that, Midoriya-kun." The mammal replied. "Just know that once this is over and done with, I will personally handle the rest."
"Alright, I'm in." Midoriya then announced with no hesitation in his voice.
Yanagi couldn't help but roll her eyes. She was now starting to regret ever telling her best friend about this. If she had known that the situation would've spiraled out of control like this she would've simply kept the information about her run-in with Bakugou a secret. Now, the girl had to deal with the knowledge that she was partially responsible for whatever happened next.
Still though, this type of intensity was so unlike Midoriya. Why the boy was so ready for this was a mystery to her. Then again, this was a feud between the two boys that had been brewing long before either of them had crossed paths at U.A.. So it made sense as to why he might've been okay with doing this. Even then, it was still crazy to her.
"Are you sure about this?" The girl then asked.
"Yeah." Midoriya nodded.
Aizawa sighed. The eyepatch-wearing hero was hoping that they would've been able to avoid this outcome. It was already bad enough that one of his headaches was going around causing chaos for the other students. Now, he was going to have to deal with the inevitable fallout of the 'explosion' quirk user finally getting the chance to have a one-on-one with Kan's student.
'I should've kicked him out of my class after his little display at the Sports Festival. Thank God Todoroki isn't anything like this.'
'I need to tell Snipe and Lunch Rush about this.' Kan thought with a subtle smile. 'I'm still short seven thousand yen after the joint training we had with Shiketsu. I need to hurry up and get that back before my trip to Okinawa with Edgshot and Kamui Woods.'
"It's decided then!" Nezu said with a little too much glee for Yanagi's liking. "We'll get back to you after we have a word with Bakugou-kun. I predict that we'll be ready to do this Wednesday after classes are done for the day. I don't believe that your classmate will refuse the opportunity."
"Sounds good to me!" Midoriya said with a Tatsumaki-like smile. "I'm looking forward to it."
"Excellent!"
With that, the three teachers swiftly exited the building and made a beeline straight to the 1-A dorm. But not before informing everyone present that they weren't allowed to speak a word of this to anyone who wasn't in the room. Leaving the students to mull over what just happened.
"Well shit…" Awase finally spoke up after a long silence. "I certainly wasn't expecting this."
"You…people…I'm going to my room. I'll see you all in the morning." Yanagi didn't even bother to wait for a response before leaving. The girl was going to drown out her displeasure with some video games and silently pray that this was all just some weird dream that she would wake up from at any moment.
Now that they were alone, the boys quickly started game planning on how Midoriya was going to handle Bakugou for their impending match. They were all well aware of how crazy this whole thing was, but there was no turning back now. All they could do now was get ready for the show.
"Are you sure about this, sir?" Kan asked Nezu while the hero trio were en route to the 1-A dorm. "Aren't student challenges supposed to be an absolute last resort?"
"I would've preferred to handle this the diplomatic way. But unfortunately, Bakugou-kun is too far gone for that. The fact that he had the audacity to bribe Shinsou-kun to use his 'brainwashing' quirk on Midoriya-kun already sealed his fate."
"When should I have the paperwork on your desk?" Aizawa then asked.
"Preferably before Friday." The unidentified mammal replied. "I already talked to Best Jeanist about this. He said that he was okay with what I have planned. And Inui-kun already gave me his blessing."
"Oh, joy…" The 'erasure' quirk used groaned while hoping to go to sleep as soon as possible.
Setsuna Tokage was starting to wonder if she was truly cursed. Every time she was about to take the next step in her relationship, the universe seemed to throw a monkey wrench into her plans. And not even the funny kind either, more like the kind that left you genuinely pissed off and irritated. At this point, the girl was starting to wonder if she would ever get the chance to finally do the thing she had been secretly planning to do for weeks. Or if she was cursed to remain a virgin for the rest of her days.
'I really shouldn't be thinking about this right now.' The girl thought to herself as she twirled some spaghetti on her fork. 'Dad went out of his way to make this reservation for us so the least I could do is try to look happy.'
The father-daughter duo were currently sitting in the middle of an American-style diner that just so happened to be owned by one of Kayama's former sidekicks. It was a nice place that really captured that mid-20th-century feel that was common in movies from the era. And the food was just as good as Tokage had heard. Unfortunately, not even some authentic American-Italian pasta was able to help the girl work through her frustrations.
As if the man was reading her mind, Urie Tokage spoke to his daughter in between bites of his meal. "Something bothering you?"
"School stuff…" The girl replied with a frown.
"Class or boyfriend related?"
Tokage briefly wondered how she should respond to that before coming up with an answer. "Boyfriend… technically?"
"Did you and Midoriya-kun have a fight?"
"No." The girl shook her head. "Some guy in our class has been harassing Izuku and it's starting to pain in the as- neck."
"Really?" Urie raised an eyebrow. "What for? Midoriya-kun doesn't seem like the kind of guy to stir up trouble."
"He's not. But from what I can tell, the guy is just jealous of Izuku and is trying to find the worst way to cope with it."
"I see…"
Part of Tokage was glad that Midoriya told her that he was going to handle this situation himself. The last thing she wanted was to end up in the crossfire of however the Bakugou problem was going to resolve itself. However, another part of her was disappointed. It had been a while since the 'lizard tail splitter' user had pulled any good pranks on her fellow students. And she had quite a few ideas that were sure to make Bakugou look like a total idiot. Unfortunately, this wasn't her problem to deal with. So, the girl resigned herself to just hearing about it once the dust had settled.
Hoping to get her mind off of this childish nonsense, Tokage decided to change subjects. "So, how's work been going?"
"Exhausting." Urie replied after taking a sip of his water. "Our company's joint project with Detnerat is coming to an end so we're trying to put the finishing touches on our work. Overall, it's been rather fun, but the guys we've been working with rub me the wrong way."
"Why's that?"
Urie paused for a moment before replying. This probably wasn't the best topic to bring up with his daughter, but the girl was mature enough to be able to handle this kind of thing in his opinion.
"Short answer, I'm almost certain that a few of those guys are quirk supremacists."
"What?" Tokage's eyes practically blew open. "Are you serious?"
"Yes."
"That's…that's crazy."
"Agreed."
"Have they done anything in particular, or is this just a hunch?"
"I think I already told you this before, but one of my assistants is quirkless." Urie began to explain. "He's also one of my more talented engineers. I planned on having him help me with this lifestyle support gear project but the lead engineer from Detnerat refused to have him work with us. I never got a specific reason as to why, but to avoid a problem my boss approved it and just left it at that."
"That's lame."
"After that, I started paying attention to how those guys talked and there are a couple of them that are huge fans of that old maniac, Destro."
"The terrorist who tried to overthrow the government a few years after quirks started appearing?"
"The one and only. I forgot that they still teach you kids about him in school."
"That's crazy." Tokage was genuinely surprised to hear that people like that were still walking around these days.
The girl was aware that prejudice against quirkless people was still very much a thing thanks to both the time she spent at the orphanage with Mirdoiya and the whole Derelicta debacle. However, quirk supremacy was a whole different kind of monster. People like that were the polar opposite of the lunatics in Derelicta. They believe that those without quirks are sub-human. And based on the history videos she used to watch as a kid, they used to actively hunt down and kill quirkless people for sport back during the early quirk era.
"Which is why I'm so glad that this project will done within a couple of weeks. Having to deal with them for the last few months was dreadful."
"I bet."
"However…" The man then smiled at his daughter. "This does mean that I'll have a lot more free time for the next few months. So we'll be able to spend more time together in the future. You, me, Nanao, and Nemuri. And I guess your boyfriends can tag along too."
"Boyfriends…as in plural?"
The blue-haired man playfully rolled his eyes. "Oh come on, you know just as well as I do that Nanao is dating that Unohana boy. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if they were already sleeping together."
"Yeah…that sounds about right."
-(o)-
"Achoo!" Nanao Tokage let out a sudden sneeze.
"Bless you." Unohana said while handing the elder Tokage sibling a tissue.
"Man, I hope I'm not coming down with something." The woman then turned her head and looked at the quirkless boy with a wicked smile. "You're not sick, are you?"
"I don't think so. Why?"
"I mean, you are the only person I've had any close contact with recently. And I did read an article a while ago that said it's possible for you to get sick after eating a guy's cu-"
"A-anyways!" A now red-faced Unohana quickly interrupted. "The movie starts in an hour. And we should get going if we're going to catch the train!"
-(o)-
"Speaking of which, you and Midoriya-kun are using protection, right? You know I'm not too keen on the idea of becoming a grandfather at such a young age."
Tokage's face instantly turned beet-red after hearing that. Oh, hell no! She was not about to have this conversation with her father right now. Especially not in the middle of a fancy restaurant where everyone could see just how embarrassed she was.
"S-so…you and Aunt Nemu…what's going on with that?! Are you two going to tie the knot or what?!"
"Oh come, was that the best deflection you could come up with?"
"We're not-" The girl then made sure to lower her voice so that no one could hear her. "We're not doing that."
"Really? That's weird."
"Huh?" Tokage quirked an eyebrow as she looked at her father in confusion.
"I mean, I was a couple of years younger than you when me and your mother started sleeping together. And Nanao probably wasn't that much older. Then there's Nemuri, and I'm sure you can take a wild guess on how early she started. If anything, you're the odd one for waiting so long."
'Great…so I'm the lamest person in my own house…' Tokage deadpanned. Apparently, she was the only one in this family who was responsible enough to not start having sex before they were legally an adult. Something which made her feel both awkward and annoyed at the same time. There was a silver lining to this though, if you could even call it that. At least the girl knew that she wouldn't have to worry about her father being an asshole about this topic in the future.
The two sat in silence for the next few minutes while they continued to enjoy their food. Across the aisle, directly above the bar area, one of the many televisions in the restaurant was showing the live feed of a bank robbery that was being handled by Edgeshot and team. Everything seemed to be under control, so no one was really worried about the result. However, the tone quickly shifted when the news reporter suddenly appeared on the screen with a special announcement.
"This just in!" The man said as all the eyes in the restaurant were now looking up at the screen. "Chaos in Deika after a series of bombings shocked the city! Early reports from numerous eyewitnesses have also confirmed that several members of the infamous 'League of Villains' were seen battling in the streets with a group of civilians. The number of casualties is still unknown at this time, however, our sources have confirmed that Senator Koku Hanabata and famed businesswoman, Chitose Kizuki, are among the deceased."
"What the hell?" Urie looked on in shock as images of a completely destroyed Deika City flashed across the screen.
"The situation is still developing at this time, but early reports state that the epicenter of the attack was the main office building of the Detnerat Company. There has been no word as of yet regarding the company's founder and CEO, Rikiya Yotsubashi. But multiple hero teams and police units are now on the scene and are trying to gain control of the situation."
'The 'League of Villains'?' Tokage thought to herself as the footage panned over to what was left of Detnerat's once proud skyscraper. 'They've been pretty quiet ever since the training camp incident. I guess they've moved on to bigger things now that their boss is in Tartarus. But since when did they use explosives? That sounds more of Derelicta's thing.'
Unfortunately, Tokage, as well as the rest of the country, couldn't have known that this entire disaster basically amounted to a stroke of mere bad luck for all parties involved.
The League of Villains just so happened to walk into Deika City on the same day that the newly outfitted Derelicta were set to mount their assault on those of the Meta Liberation Army. To say that the battle was a bloodbath would be putting it mildly. All sides suffered heavy losses as a result. However, if anyone could be counted as the victor in this battle it was most certainly Rogue and her loyal subordinates in Derelicta.
With two of the MLA's top dogs now out of the picture and the rest currently "missing", the group of quirkless terrorists managed to deal a major blow to their sworn enemies. And the fact that Tomura Shigaraki and his crew were set to take all the blame was just an added bonus for them.
What the public didn't know was that Rogue was already on the way to her new hideout with a severely beaten and bloodied Skeptic tied up in the back seat of her truck. And with the fact that his 'anthropomorph' quirk was now permanently gone thanks to bullets she received from Unohana and his new tech, the man didn't have a snowball's chance in Hell of saving himself. Simply put, he was a dead man walking.
The only downside was that she had no clue where Re-Destro had run off to. The bastard managed to slip away from her when Shigaraki decided to turn a section of the city into dust after one of his buddies got killed by the blue-skinned bitch.
"Didn't you say those guys you worked with were in Deika City for a company conference or something?" Tokage then asked her father.
"They are." Urie replied in a solemn tone. "I wonder if they're alright."
After a few minutes of chatter among those in the restaurant, the father-daughter duo decided to go back to their previous conversation. Although the news was shocking to hear, neither of them wanted it to ruin one of the few chances they had to spend some quality time together. That being said, this was surely going to be a topic of conversation for the foreseeable future. But for now, the two were perfectly content with just watching it play out.
"Oh yeah!" Urie perked up after finishing his meal. "I was thinking of proposing to Nemuri at the end of the year. Nanao already said that she was fine with it, but I wanted to get your input before I came to a decision."
…
…
…
…
…
"What?!"
Omake:
"Oh, this is going to be so fun to watch!" Tatsumaki almost shouted with joy in between bites of her popcorn. "I can't wait to see the little nerd whoop that blonde loser's ass!"
"Did you really fight Blue Marvel?" Tenya Iida asked the former number four heroine. "My brother told me about him before I died. Isn't he said to be a walking natural disaster?"
Tatsumaki shrugged. "He wasn't all that when we were in school. He only became the 'Shining Star of Africa' after he took down that Killmonger guy a couple of years after he went back home."
"Wow…" The former UA student marveled at what he was hearing.
"I can't believe that UA still lets students do challenges." Nana Shimura mused. "There were quite a few of them back when me and Sorhiko went there. But that was all the way back when the school first opened."
A portal to Tatsumaki's pocket dimension then opened up a few meters in front of them, allowing Sasame Tokage to enter the residence with a bag full of snacks and drinks in tow. "Greetings, everyone."
"How's it going?" Shimura waved at the woman.
"Same old, same old."
"How's your daughter doing?" Yoichi Shigaraki asked the Tokage matriarch. The first wielder of 'One for All' had been hanging out with the group over the last couple of days and had gotten well acquainted with the woman.
"Aside from stressing me out from beyond the grave?"
"I don't really see the problem." Tatsumaki interjected. "So what if Nanao's sleeping with the little terrorist nerd? They make a good couple. If anything this might convince him to stop his bullshit. Besides, wasn't your husband way younger than you when you guys started sleeping together?"
"Oh be quiet." The older of the two green-haired women rolled her eyes.
"Anyways…" Shimura then said. "It's time we check in on Togata-kun and Toshinori. They're about to start training the boy on how to use his new quirks and I have a feeling it's going to be fun to watch. And after what we just watched happen in Deika City, I need something to laugh at."
"We should've invited Kudo and the others." Yoichi said to no one in particular.
"They said they were going to watch it in Banjo's dimension. Which is probably for the best considering how rowdy those guys can get."
"Good point." The white harried man acquiesced before getting comfortable. Either way, they were definitely going to have a bit of fun watching their newest successor prepare for his inevitable showdown with Shigaraki. After all, it was pretty much all that they could do from here. It's not like they were worried though, the boy had talent in spades. Way more than any of them ever had. And with his drive, they were certain that Mirio Togata was going to get the job done.
A/N:
1. Alright…so to be perfectly honest, I really wanted to have one more big fight scene in the story before we hit the time skip (whenever that actually happens). And this "student challenge" route is the only thing I could think of that would allow Midoriya and Bakugou to hash it out without causing too much trouble for Midoriya after it was done. I have a general idea of how I want the fight to go, but I'm really just using it as a way for Midoriya to show off some new moves that he may or may not have been working on behind the scenes during training (He may or may not have gotten some new ideas from his sister). I don't want to spoil anything, but I've been reviewing the Gojo vs Sukuna fight from JJK quite a bit.
2. I've narrowed down Bakugou's punishment to two things. I hope to have my decision finalized before I start writing the next chapter, but I make no promises. Like I said last chapter, I'm trying to switch it up from my previous stories.
3. For those of you who are curious, the Unohana/Derelicta stuff won't be totally resolved until after the time skip. I've decided how Unohana's story is going to end(?), but the Derelicta stuff is a bit harder to figure out while keeping them a present background element in the story. But I'm sure that I'll come up with something to bring an end to that plot point…maybe.
4. I'm going to be adding a bit more "fluff" once the fight between Midoriya and Bakugou is over. Hopefully, I'm able to pull that off without it being too cheesy. I want to close out this time period on a positive note.
Anyways, like always thank you for taking the time out of your day to read this dumpster fire of a story. Feel free to leave a comment/review if you want. I actually enjoy reading your guys' thoughts and they keep me motivated to keep writing this thing. Thank you and have a wonderful day!
