"Ready? Grenades."

Upon hearing the order, all the stormtroopers threw the grenades they had prepared, causing some of the crowd to panic upon seeing the black projectiles in the air. To Kal's disappointment the grenades were only stun and blast grenades, made for creating confusion and disorientation, but leaving their victims mostly unharmed. On the other hand, it left the rioters alive and easy targets for the stormtroopers.

The loud bangs and flashes of light had been dampened by the stormtrooper helmets, but the civilians in front of them had no such protection and on Kal's order, the stormtroopers plowed into the crowd. Kal first came upon a stocky human, still reeling from an adjacent explosion and his baton smashed the protestor's knee, sending him sprawling to the ground, where Kal gave a pair of kicks to the ribs while stepping above him. A Devaronian clutching his arm stumbled in front of Kal, who grabbed one of his horns before jamming as hard as he could the baton on his side, before throwing him onto the ground, where he started coughing blood.

"Should have run when you still could, cretins!" Kal shouted at his victim, before continuing forward. Another protestor tried to grapple Kal, clumsy hands reaching for his baton, but Kal pushed this one back by sending his armored knee to the guts then put him in an arm-lock just long enough for another stormtrooper to bash his head in, sending him to the ground where laid, unmoving, with a pool of blood spreading around his head. Kal felt his blood thrumming, joyous excitement filling him as he brutally let his violent urges take over.

As they moved through the crowd, the stormtroopers reached a group of organized protesters, less impacted by the grenades and trying to fight back, throwing rocks and other projectiles, but the stormtroopers' armor protected them against the impacts and at Kal's order, they quickly fell down on the group. As he waded through, Kal feels a shiv slip on the armor covering his side, trying to find the gap between the plates, but before the improvised blade could bite his flesh, Kal has batted aside the arm holding the weapon, shattering the elbow. But before he can punish the shiv-wielder for her attack, Kal spotted a small human dressed in a miner's jumpsuit at the back of the group fumbling with an improvised incendiary bomb. At this he left his current target and bull rushed through the group, trusting his fellow soldiers to keep the others protestors off his back, before slamming into the smaller man. After a brief struggle, the civilian was sent to the ground, cradling a broken wrist and Kal was left holding the bomb above him.

"Go freeze in the Great Beyond, Imperial scum!" snarled the civilian, hate-filled eyes boring into Kal's visor.

Even if the man on the ground couldn't see his face, Kal looked contemptuously before saying "Oops, it slipped" and hurling the bomb at the protestor, who was engulfed in flames and let out a blood-curling scream as the incendiary mix ravaged his body.
At this point panic spread through the crowd, most were scrambling to run away, but that just gave Kal more opportunity to strike them, his baton rising and falling, hitting indiscriminately. But when Kal reached the deserted stalls of the market on the other side of the street, still running, Kal heard the sound blaster fire.
