BOOK ONE - PART THREE - CHAPTER THIRTY-SEVEN

Sam was right on the edge. Her right arm was wrapped around Cat, clawing at her back, and her hips were working on their own. Finally, she could feel herself peaking. She turned her head and buried her face in the crook of Cat's neck.

Cat didn't move the vibrator, but she shifted her body away. "Why do you always hide your face when you come?" If she wasn't allowed to see anything private; she wanted this at least—just something to assure her that Sam's reactions were genuine.

Sam was going to argue, but then she shuddered and came hard, giving out a strangled grunt as her back arched clear off the bed. Her eyes snapped closed, her mouth fell open, and her head tipped back as her skin flushed a deep red with the force of it. She stayed there for several seconds, riding out the waves, and then collapsed on her back, nearly gasping for breath. Cat started to move the vibrator away, but Sam grabbed the end and pulled it back into place. "Don't stop," she practically begged, her voice slightly strained and raspy now, "Please don't stop; please, Cat…"

Cat definitely wasn't complaining. She squeezed her own thighs together to ease some of the pressure there. "Should I turn it up?" she asked, moving her thumb over to the dial on the side.

"No," Sam quickly responded, "I'm really sensitive. This is enough, I just—I just wanted you to—ohfuck, ohfuck, ohfuck—" She tensed again as another climax ripped through her. Cat kept her eyes trained on her face, moaning with her, feeling her lower body jerk with each contraction. Once Sam came down, she nudged the vibrator away—but only for a few seconds before pulling it back in. "God, yes…"

Cat giggled, aroused beyond belief. "How many times are you gonna come?"

"I don't know," Sam moaned. Their eyes met again for only a second. "Oh my God, Cat—" She shook hard as yet another orgasm overwhelmed her. Her thighs closed around the vibrator while she came.

"More?" Cat requested excitedly. She reached down with her free hand and gave herself a little rub.

"You are so fucking hot," Sam exhaled shakily. "Are you touching yourself?"

"Mm-hmm. Is that okay?" Cat smiled playfully and brought her fingers up to Sam's lips again.

Sam excitedly sucked them clean. "Next time, I want you to ride my face."

Cat wasn't sure what that meant, but she trusted Sam, so she agreed, "Okay."

"Really?" Sam looked at her in surprise.

Cat bit her neck and whispered in her ear, "My pussy's all yours, Momma."

The effect was immediate—Sam shuddered again and blurted, "I'm coming..!" It didn't last as long as the other ones, but her body relaxed for only a second before yet another even stronger one overwhelmed her. She cried out in pleasure once again, raking her nails down Cat's back. When she came down from this one, gasping shakily, it seemed she was finally spent as she urgently fumbled to push the vibrator away. Cat turned it off and let it rest on her thigh as Sam's entire body spasmed with the aftershocks of her efforts. Finally, she exhaled deeply. Her eyes opened and met Cat's.

Cat smiled and kissed her. "Feel better?"

"Yes. Oh, my God. Thank you; you have no idea how bad I needed that." Sam rested on her back with her eyes closed as her breathing gradually slowed.

Cat set the vibrator aside and then laid beside her, gently stroking the right side of her chest. She didn't speak for a few minutes, letting her collect herself. Eventually, she murmured, "I'm so lucky."

Sam gave out a short laugh. "You're crazy. I'm the lucky one here, Cat." She seemed like she was hesitating. "I've never…" she began. Then she bit her lip and shook her head.

"No, what were you gonna say?" Cat pulled back slightly so she could look into her eyes.

Sam was smiling crookedly and looked a bit nervous. "I've never done that before, except with you. Like… actually let a girl get me off like that," she admitted. "I know it's probably a turnoff, how jumpy I get. I just wanted to say thanks for, y'know, taking it slow and stuff."

"You don't have to thank me. And it's the furthest thing from a turnoff; I promise," Cat assured her, then kissed her again. "But thank you for trusting me so much. I know it probably wasn't easy."

"You make it easy," Sam told her. Cat seemed to be waiting for her to say more, so she bit her lip and awkwardly forced out, "It's kind of weird, feeling like this about someone. It's so different from what I'm used to."

Cat was smiling widely. "Like what?"

"I don't know, like… like there's nothing missing; like I actually belong somewhere." Sam cringed at herself, but she didn't take it back.

"You're so romantic, Sam," Cat giggled. There was still some lingering arousal, but the butterflies in her stomach took most of her attention now. She fought her urge to tease her and asked a serious question instead. "Did you mean what you wrote in that note when you left?"

Sam's eyes had been closed, but they immediately opened again. "Oh. Um, which part?"

Cat couldn't stop smiling. She leaned in next to Sam's ear and kissed her neck. "The part when you said you'll love me forever?"

Sam nervously shifted her eyes away. "None of it was a lie, Cat."

"Okay, well, then I think it's about time you know…" Cat cupped the side of her face, kissed her lips, and stroked her cheekbone gently with her thumb as she stared into her eyes, "...that I'll love you too. Forever. And whatever comes after."

Sam's reaction wasn't what Cat expected. She choked back a sob and then her eyes shone with unshed tears. Her right arm tightened around her.

"What? What's wrong?" Cat asked in concern, leaning her forehead against Sam's.

"You just…" Sam cleared her throat, sniffled, and continued, "You don't know how long I've been waiting to hear you say that." Then she choked out a laugh and wiped her eyes on the backs of her hands. "God, what are you doing to me?"

Cat couldn't stop smiling. "It's okay. You can cry. I think it's sweet." She rested her head on Sam's shoulder, and for a while the two of them laid together in silence.

"Do you mind if I sleep?" Sam eventually yawned. "I know it's still pretty early…"

"Of course not. Get some rest, Sam," Cat murmured, snuggling up to her side. "I'll stay here and let you hold me 'til you fall asleep."

"'Kay. Night."

Cat could've sworn she heard her say I love you again as her breathing evened out and her body went slack. She hadn't meant to stay, but she was too comfortable to move. She whispered it back and then fell into dreamland.
