Silver Leone: Yes, that is indeed Akane Yashiro. And yes, that is considered foreshadowing.
DJ Rodriguez: Yeah, it was a long journey.
Yeah, Asian dragons are different from the ones from Europe.
Yeah, that complication is going to be solved here, more or less.
zakdragon3: Here's your answer.
Qua Zorki: Thanks nonetheless.
Weakness is sleep: Here you go.
Kaiju Avenger: To be fair, I didn't think Hiccup would give them their cannon names, plus their names will come into play back in Berk.
And no, the dragons did not follow Hiccup to Japan. He gave them one final order to stay in Helheim's Gate.
I'm going to put some of the show's story arcs into this.
Wait and see that soon.
As for Hiccup's pairing, well, I am leaning to both.
Gojira Defender: Thank you.
Rexzilla: No, no they don't.
Just wait and see.
Iceler: Thank you.
jakilundeen: Thank you.
Five years ago. . .
A herd of Anguirusaurus, four legged Ankylosaurus-like creatures with spiky shells and tails grazes in the meadow while a pack of Baragonasaurus, large dark red wingless dragons with large bat-like ears and a large horn on their heads bathes in the nearby river. Up the river, a flock of fiery red Pterosaurs nest in the cliffsides and one particular Pterosaur with two crests on his headdives into the river to catch a mouthful of fish. In the deeper part of the river, rested a couple of Kamobeas turtles.
The valley was observed by a Japanese man who was writing and drawing everything he seen in his journal.
A small dragon approaches the open jaws of a larger animal. He pokes his jaws in between the teeth and attempts to clean the gums before the animal exhales and moves to rise to its feet.
The Japanese man happened to be nearby when the animal rose to his feet. Its shadow covers his form and he looks up at it with a growing expression of fear.
The Saurian creature stood nearly twenty meters tall with a matching length. It had a long neck with a crocodile like snout, long arms with three large claws, fiery red scales with a yellow underbelly, a long tail that ended with a large fish like fin. A tall, thin, yellow sail ran along the Saurian's spine and a curved fin sprouted from the back of his head like a mohawk with a small fish fin protruding out of the corner of his jaws.
The Japanese man heard stories about this beast from sailors from the north. They call it Titanosaurus.
"I should leave the valley. Immediately," the man said out loud before backing away slowly just as Gojira walked out of the tree line behind him. The man gasped and tried to walk the other way, only to stumble and fall between a boulder and a log. Gojira faced the red Saurian and growled.
Gojira had detected the scent of the Titanosaurus from over thirty miles away and had traveled all the way to this valley in order to confront the intruding predator.
Titanosaurus looked to the spiky Saurian and roared defiantly. Gojira growled in response. The two Saurians slowly circled each other like sharks in the water or some reptilian version of Yin and Yang, snapping jaws at one another and snarling, sizing one another up.
Titanosaurus leaned his head back before roaring. Gojira roared back before charging forward, stepping on the log and boulder and miraculously not crushing the human between them who screamed. Gojira and Titanosaurus slammed their heads like bulls before Gojira moved around Titano's long jaws and bit down on the red scaled Saurian's neck and pushed him down as he roared in pain. Thankfully for Titano, his thick scales prevented Gojira's sword-like teeth from doing much damage.
Growling, Titano forced himself to rise back to his feet as Gojira held onto his neck. Titano moved around, almost walking in a circle while roaring, his tail knocked down a dead tree, scaring a flock of birds and a handful of Meganula that nested in the tree.
Titanosaurus lowered down before throwing his upper body back, shrugging off Gojira before landing on all fours and snarling at the spiky Saurian who roared back in response. The red Saurian rises back up and snaps his jaws at the base of Gojira's tail before slashing his claws at his opponent's leg, leaving three claw marks on his thigh that heal up into scar tissue.
Gojira sidesteps out of Titano's next few claw slashes before swinging his tail at the red Saurian's snout before jumping forward to slam his head into Titano's ribs.
Titanosaurus recoiled from the hit from the blow but quickly maneuvered around Gojira's jaws and then clamped down on his neck.
The Japanese man slowly pokes his head from his hiding spot. He sees Titanosaurus holding the roaring Gojira's neck in his jaws with one hand on the Saurian's head and the other held on one of his smaller dorsal spines. Then Titano twisted Gojira's neck and a loud, gut wrenching SNAP was heard.
Yamane stares as Gojira falls to the ground, the impact shaking the ground beneath his feet with a loud THUD!
Gojira's ribs rising and falling was the only indication he was alive. Titanosaurus panted before he walked around the downed Saurian until he was standing in front of his down form. He leans down and runs his claws down Gojira's scales between his neck and shoulder, leaving three long scars. They will heal, but they will not go away unless his skin is burned away to the bone.
Titano then placed his hands on Gojira, leaned back and roared in victory.
Five years later. . .
Hiccup stood frozen on the spot with his hands in the air. With the archers armed and ready to fire, leaping to Toothless won't be an option. "Anata wa dare desuka?" said one of the warriors in armor.
"Jibun jishin o tokutei suru!" said another.
Hiccup had the distinct feeling that they were asking who he was, but that was just him.
"Umi no kamisama, Gojira des!" One of the villagers pointed to Gojira.
"Shikashi, koku ryu wa doda ro?" Hiccup's just speculating, but he has a hunch that warrior was asking about Toothless based on how he's pointing at the Night Fury.
"Anata wa daredesuka?" asked a man in red armor, who Hiccup assumed was the leader of the group of warriors.
"I mean you all no harm," Hiccup said slowly, hoping his body language was speaking for himself. "I come in peace."
"Jibun jishin o tokutei suru!" the leader said.
"Uh. . ." Hiccup said in confusion, noticing that that sentence was said before. Toothless and Sharpshot growled at the warriors holding weapons at them. Gojira growled as well, wrapping his tail around the Night Fury, Terror and the Viking teenage boy. Sharpshot snarled as he climbed onto Hiccup's shoulders. "Easy, guys. We're on their soil."
Gojira paused in his growling and looked to Hiccup, an eyebrow raised. Probably saying that this was his soil as Hiccup said.
"Matte!" cried out the girl that Gojira saved from the wingless dragon as she rises to her feet and rushes to stand in front of Hiccup and the warriors. "Karera wa doragon watashi no inochi o sukkutte kuremashita! Karera wa doragon kara sukkutte kuremashita!"
The man in red armor looked at the girl and seemed to consider her words. Definitely not a normal villager, Hiccup thought to himself.
An elderly man suddenly walked to the man in red armor and spoke to him. "Aso! Me o tsukatatte matte kudasai." The two men glanced up to Gojira as the elder spoke. "Nagai toshi tsuki o hete, wada tsumi Gojira ga kaette kita."
Gojira stared down at the men blinking his eyes once.
The man in armor replied to the elder, looking at Hiccup as he spoke. "Yamane choro yo, ryu ni noru otoko o utagu hitsuyo wa aru."
"Osoraku desuga, tekidattra doragon de kogeki shite itada shou." The elder replied before walking forward to the young girl. "Purinsesu, kare to kare no doragon ga anata o mamotte kureta to kakushin shite imasu ka?" he seemed to ask her something and the girl replied with a nod. "Hai, karera wa so shima shita."
The elder then walked to Hiccup. "Anata wa dare desuka?" he asked Hiccup who stared at him before shaking his head.
"Please, sir. I don't understand." Hiccup said weakly. The elder's eyes widened a bit in response before he cleared his throat.
"You are a long way from home, young Norseman." the elder said and Hiccup's eyes widened. The elder was speaking to him in Norse!
"You can speak my language?" he asked, because wow. He is many, many miles from Viking territory.
"Indeed I can," the elder replied. "Though a bit rusty. I am Yamane, the elder of this village. Now, you'll have to forgive Samurai Aso's weariness. He finds it suspicious about a man, even at your age, to be riding a dragon amidst dragons that have been raiding our villages for months."
Hiccup nodded in understanding to that. Sounds like what most Vikings, more specifically his father, would think if they saw him riding Toothless. At least they weren't killing him though and his draconian friends. "Well, believe me when I tell you, sir, that I mean your people no harm." he said dutifully.
"Given that Gojira came to Princess Akane's defense when you arrived, I am inclined to believe that," the elder replied.
Princess? Hiccup repeated in his mind, his eyebrows shooting up in surprise. So he was right. The girl was no ordinary villager. He looks over to the girl in question who smiled lightly and waved. He looks back to the elder, clearing his throat. "Well, my friends and I have just arrived at this land roughly ten minutes ago. We heard a dragon roar and someone screaming and raced over to help."
"I see," the elder replied before turning to who Hiccup assumed was Samurai Aso and spoke to him. "Kare wa doragon to tomoni Gojira to tomoni 10-bu mae ni Nihon ni tochaku shita to iu. Karera wa sakebigoe o kiite koko ni kita."
Aso looked to Hiccup with narrowed eyes as if trying to see if the Viking was lying or not. "Anata wa dare desuka?" he asked.
"Kare wa Hokuo hito desu," replied Yamane. Aso turned his head to the elder, surprise in his eyes before speaking inquisitively. "Kare wa Nihon de nani o shite iru nodesu ka?"
Yamane turned to Hiccup. "Why are you in Japan, Norsemen?" he asked.
"Well, that is a long story," Hiccup replied. Yamane looked at Samurai Aso and repeated what Hiccup had said in Japanese. "Kare wa sore wa nagai hanashida to iu."
Aso turned to look at Hiccup again, this time looking a bit intrigued. "Osoraku Shogun wa kono 'nagai hanashida' o kikitai nodeshou." He said to Yamane.
Yamane turned to Hiccup. "Aso says that the Shogun would like to hear about this long story of yours."
Hiccup furrowed his brow. "The Sho-who now?" he asked.
A bit of Gojira's backstory at the beginning, inspired by the opening from Jurassic World Dominon (Extended Version) with an introduction to some Toho Kaiju and the fight between Gojira and Titanosaurus was inspired by Bull T-Rex vs Spinosaurus and Prologue Rex vs Prologue Giga.
Yamane is from the original Gojira film in 1954.
Aso is one of the Generals in the Heisei Era. When writing this, I learned that his actor passed away, so this is to his memory.
Next chapter will show what's going on at Berk as well as Hiccup learning more about Japan.
Until then.
