On the oil rig, we huddled up like a football team deciding the game-winning drive in overtime.
"Okay team, what are we going to do?" requested Nick. Now that we had 2 more agents working with us, our inserption options were vast and numberless, like a fish in the ocean.
"I say we split up" ascribed Mice, "we can cover more ground that way and also we can make a loud distraction wile Fern and Molly sneak around to find the informant."
"You boys think you can handle yourselves without us? I'm worried that Fern might not be able to handle ME…" Molly was clearly joking and ran her hands up and down her sides, and looked me up and down, likely sizing me up, if I was down for a fight. But I remembered Jessica's words about keeping my eye on her, so I made sure to use this opportunity to take a visual/virtual scan of every curve. I have a special talent for recalling images in my mind with extreme clrity, and I knew Jessica would appreciate my mental map of Molly's bodysuit. Perhaps we could later use this research to get some of her upgrades, or I could at least ask Molly if she'd take Jessica shopping some time.
Mike smirkerd. "Fern won't need to handle you alone, he's got a new gourd dog watching his back." and he petted the new dog very nicely.
That sounded like a good plan and we deicided to do so. Nick and Mike roadie runned to the nearest cover out of site. The new dog obviously stayed with me; they say dogs can smell your auras and this dog must have known that I was the battle-hardened citizen soldier saving the world against the forces of evil one bad guy at a time. We had truly become a bonded pair.
We crept through the halls of the oil rig, staying clear of DTAG. Then, the dog lifted its nose up and started to sniff the air.
"Sounds like he's got the informants scent" said Molly. "Ugh, and they have his!" 2 guards turned a sudden corner as they lifted their rifles, black stocks and military level edging, to point where we used to be as we ducked into desks for cover. The dog ducked just in time to avoid the bullets that filled the air and hallway.
"Everything good over there?" Mike inchimed through the headset. I could barely hear him over the sound of cunfire coming through the headset, and he couldn't hear me past the gunfire on my end. I sent him a thumbs up emoji over text instead.
"Hey there, Fernie~…" MoMolly was calling to me songingly and when I looked over at her I could see what she was doing, I didn't believe it at all. She was putting it all out there, laying dynamicly with her head in her hand perched on top of an elbow with a wicked smile on the face and her knees were spread WIDE. She winked at me and tbh I was sort of irritated and confused because how could she be such a..
"Distraction, yeah! You go in front as a distraction, and I'll sneak around the back and get the guards from behind. You were fast in our scuffle earlier, I'm sure you can keep them busy." she smirked when she said that. For a second I wasn't sure what she had been doing, and I'm glad she explained before I did something I'd have a hard time explaining to Jessica later. Besides that, I wasn't a big fan of being the target practice during someone else's heroic anticw. My face must have explained my feelings because I didn't need to say what I was because she started speaking and I heard her speak from her round mouth.
"I know what you're thinking sweetie, and don't bother" She swiftly reconfiggered her limbs into a combat pose, still low to stay under cover. "heh, I've been ALIVE since before you were even born. I've got this all figured out." I did the math in my head. I needed to trust my gut so I grit my teeth and decided to go along with her plan.
I rolled between covers and scanned the combat space as I passed. 2 combatants, armed with automatic rifles, about 3 feet apart from each other and each a dozen feet from me, maybe more or less.
"By the way Fern" said Nick over my personal radio, "what are you going to name the dog"
I thought about it. This dog deserved a good name after the hardships that both he and I would endure. I was trying to think of a name of stuff I liked that maybe the dog would like too, but also helped people get that his name meant something more. Maybe… Ping-Pobg? Ommellete? Binanna?
I heard the bullets stop for a moment while the guards reloaded, and suddenly Molly's good body was turning above me. She flipped and turned with femimeme grace that made me sort of forgive her crude remark earlier, and I heard 2 slicing sounds from knives and I knew it was over. I was about to comment on Cipher's perfrorments when my earpiece buzzed again.
"How about Killer?" Mike suggested over the comms, but before I could raise my voice and scold him about giving the dog too scary a name, molly spoke up.
"Eww," said Molly, "more like stupid mutt, or dumb dirty filthy beast!" I could tell from my quick thinging of the situation that she didn't like dogs. Inside of me that would be a magor point of dissension, but for the moment I had to prush it aside and focus more on the mission. The mission, we needed to get in quick and quiet. Cleanly… Then I had the perfect name for the fog and I smiled. This dog shall be named.. Joe.. Clean Joe.
"Heha, nice! Suits him!" Nick encouraged.
I pointed so CJ was able to scout ahead for potential dangers, and I turned back to Molly to discuss our next step and if she had a map. She seemed determined to go down the left hallway but then turned and smiled on me. I felt watmth filling me up from the bottom up, and soon she was right in front of me, touching my hand to her suit. She deliciately ran my fingers from the spot under her right arm across her back and then down her lefft thigh, to a small holstder of throwing knives. Along the way there was some kind of weird seam that had a line that pulled the knives from her holdster to that spot under her arm, perfect for quick access. She leaned in an whispered a little word in my ear that sent tinkles down both of my thighs. "You like? You could have it all to yourself…" I didn't understand why she was offering me knives but before i could respond-
Then we heard a door open or close and a terrorist walking to us. Uh Oh, we had to hide and do it now! My eyes scanned the area around me and we saw a locker in the side of the hallway. Molly pulled herself, and, me, into the locker and shut it. It reminded me of some of the darkest moments of me, but not being alone in the locker this time helped me get over the anger. I wanted to look out the locker door to see if the terrist had passed but taped to the inside of it was a picture from a dirty magazine and I did NOT want to look at such a thing. I knew a kid who had dirty mags in his locker, and he got kicked out! I wasn't going to mess with any of that stuff EVER. That meant I was forced to look at Molly. She was so close that I could feel her breasts breathing on me. She looked at me as well and smiled knowing EXACTLY what she was doing.
"So Fern, you like what you see?" she asked.
Immeditely my earpiece flared up,
"YOU STOP TALKING TO MY FERN RIGHT NOW! I have kept my mic muted but this has gone too far" yelled Jessica! It was sound lound that it was like she was right there next to me! I sweat dropped anime style and thought we were cooked like an egg. The DTAG SCUM shouted in surprise but right when I thought he was about to open the locker and see us in our intamite moment, I heared Clean Joe doing some not-so-clean things! The terrorist was dead in a moment, and the light from the little slits in the locker were now red from the blood.
and we could get out of the locker. As we did, Nick spoke up over the earpeace again.
"Whoa, Jessica, maybe you and Fern could take this to a private channel?"
"Sigh, you're right… Fern, switch to frequency alpha gamma romeo."
I did so and let Jessica continue. Finally she was going to say what was "really" bothering her.
"Fern, im so proud of you obviously but like... When are you gonna come home? For good?" Jessica asked with earnestly. I thought her question was nice beacuase it showed the world that she loved me. It was hard to answer her but I picked my words well.
"Ask them when they are done doing wars." I said, dryer than crackly dry paper. Jessica smiled through the phon could hear it. She told me I always said the right thing and got off the phone so I could focus.
We followed Clean Joe to the very interior of the oil rig. I wondered if he had been in the rig before and maybe knew his way? He was a smart dog, and lead us right to where (Ricardo Ronaldo AKA) Double R would be. When I peaked my eyes into the room the terrorsits were holding him in, I couldn't beleive what I was seeing. Ricardo was chained up with his arms above his head, being tased by a member of DTAG using some rusty clips and a car battery. Ricardo and the torture soldier was both screaming in each others faces for obviously different reasons. What a grusome sight… but that meant that the torturer was completely distracted (and Ricardo as well but that didn't really matter if you think about it). Sneaking up to him like Sam Fischer in Splitter Cells, I taped the terrorist on the shoulder once in a cheeky fashion. The terrorist looked around, and could only see me for a macrosecond before I stole the 2 taser clips from him and then I electrocuted the torturer through the brain. He fell down and was knocked uncouscous.
I helped Ricordo down from the chains. He was coughing everywhere which I turned away from because I didn't want to get sick again. the p(l?)andemic was really hard on my dad and me and his friends. 9a/n my real dad and I gave each other COVID like six times).
"Fern, my brother, thank you: you save me" spoked Ricardo.
"You got Double R over there?" stated Nick, "let's patch him in."
"A friend of Fern's is a friend of myne" exaled Agent Ronaldo. "I was just about to die when you got here. I wish I had more to give you, but I do have this…" and he handed me a small square of paper, harder than reglar paper and shiny on one side, it had a small picture on it of the… wait, this is a selfie of the dognapperS! Both of them, fully ID'd, no masks… this would be invaluble to our investigation.
"Ok got it" said Jessica, "I've already digitized that picture and uploaded it straight to the cloud. Now ex-fill and get your selfes back pronto!"
I was about to speak to Double R agoin but he was looking over my shoulder, with HORRORFIED look on his face.
"You! What are you doing here-"
Then a throwing knife suddenly went straight into his throut! Ricardo slowly brought his hands up to the knife but he was already dead. He gasped and gagged and then the whites of his eyes went out before he fell down, into the deepest sleep, dead.
My mind tighyened up and everything slowed down. In slow motion I could hear Clean Joe barking and I realized just a moment too late that we were being betrayed. I turned in what seemed like I was slow because of the slow motion, though i was probably moving at regular speed, and I could see who was betraying us at that moment and it was Molly! Jessica was right, she WAS a baddie! I realized that she had never said what she was here for, what her mission was, and that as a Class V agent she had free jurisprudents to work within or around any law she saw fit to complete her misson.
"I never said what my mission was, because there's a lot of people who wanted to see Double R sixty feet under. And you led me right to him. Poor little Fern. Thinking he's" Molly was about to go on some kind of long speech or something when Clean Joe started tearing at her jacket sleeve. "BAD DOGGIE!" SHE screamed at Joe and KICKED HIM, and I knew right then and there that Molly truly was unforvigeable, and any chemistry/biology between us was deader than Double R.
That was when I got a curtain feeling that time seemed to be in slow motion because I thought I was going to be sick. The way molly spoke about my new dog, her own NEW teammatem, made me want to yartz my lunch. She was dead, she just didn't know it yet. When the slow motion ran out, I was alone in the hallway. Over my radio, I could hear Jessica, Joe, Nick, Mike, all fading in yealling and screaming about what to do, and down the hall i could also hear Clean Joe giving a chase to Molly who was getting away. I snapped into action immeddiately.
"Go after her, Fern! We'll cut her off! Pincer Manure!" Mike huffed. That meant he was right and I needed to stop her.
I checked my gons as I ran down the doors, following the echoing sound of barking and snarling. I got outside and a helicopter flew right over my head, swooping in and over the air. "FERN!" yelled Nick who was piloting the helicopter and talking over the helicopter intercom, "INCOMING!"
He flew in close right avoe me and opened the side door and then from the door, my own two dogs Old Dan and Little Ann jumped down from the door onto the walkway and they were now running allong side of me. We caught up with Clean Joe and we were all running after Molly like a true Wolfpack, me, and now all three dogs which had cemented theirselves together in a Legacy.
We reached a helipad… Molly was out of room. She stopped on the edge and looked back at the Pack barring down on her. Clean Joe luged at her to take her down for good, but in a sudden tragic moment she grabbed him while he was in the air and twisted around with her gravitatioal momentem throwing Joe right over the edge!
"NO!" everyone else yelled, but I was in silent shock. But then I head whimpering coming from over the endge, and I saw that Clean Joe had grabbed a metal rope with his teeth and was holding on for dsear life. Old Dan and Little Ann were barking instructuins at Joe and I knew I had to save him. I ran to the edge and grabbed the metal rope myself trying to pull Joe up, but then…
"Hey Feeeeeeeeeeern~" said Molly, "one more thing for the road!" she said and grabbed a throwing star.
"DON"MT DO IT MOLLY" Jessica yelled. But that didin't stop her and Molly threw it at the metal rope, cutting it cleanly in two. Time slowed down until milliseconds became minutes as I watched Clean Joe fall away
falling
falling
all the way down to the ground below… I crushed my eyes closed…. I couldent watch… but I could imagine it all behind my blue eyes. Seeing his littel doggy bones fall into
death's
waiting
abyss… I saw it and shed the only tear i could.
"You'll never catch up to me, Fern" said Molly. "We already know your every move, because NEWS FLASH IDIOT the Dognappers have an informant in your mist. Tada!"
She crossed her arms and fell back off the oil rig, then only a moment later another helecopter rose up with Molly driving it. She winkled at me one more time and then sped off into the Prazilian sunset. I got up and Nick and Mike were catching up to me on the helipad. They slowed to a stop watching the same thing I was.
"There was nothing you could do Fern… how could you have known? That traitorous bi-"
"MIKE!" Nick yelled, alarmed at th other's outbust.
But I could feel it too… we excepted the help of an outside party and it was used against us. Going foward, we would have to be allot more careful and rely sollelly on ourselves. Me, Nick, Mike, Jessica, Old Dan and Little Ann… that is who we are. The Original Diamond Dogs. Always a team… always together. Ready….. To make a stand.
