Since I'm being forced to do mandatory over time today and I'm up early, thought I'd go ahead post the new chapter. Reviews are mandatory today too... lol just kidding. Enjoy!

"You fucking cunt, you think you can hide from me?"

*Message erased*

"I swear to god I could snap your neck for this, you better pray to god I never lay eyes on you in this life or the next or I'll-"

*Message erased*

His last message had put her on edge, he was so calm. It was eerie, hearing him breathing on the other end for what seemed like eternity before he spoke

"You can't hide from me forever Yelena."

*Message Erased*

Yelena massaged her temples, feeling a migraine brewing behind her eyelids after listening to all twenty of Chris's messages. He had went through several different emotions in the span of thirty minutes it took him to fill her voicemail box and those were the nice ones she erased

She put her phone on the table, her heart heavy. He had responded to the news like she knew he would, accusing her of being after his money.

That was expected. She had anticipated that much.

The fact that he called her selfish was really nagging her.

She was doing what was right. She hadn't gone through with the procedure and it was her choice to continue through the pregnancy. She figured since he had come to terms that she was going to have the abortion, if she changed her mind, it was on her.

So she had decided that she would do it on her own.

"That is a bit selfish Baby Girl." Roman said honestly. He had forgotten one of his bags from when he spent the night and came over to retrieve it before he got back on the road, Seth and Dean with him

She made them breakfast and while Rollins and Ambrose stuffed their faces, she had pulled the Samoan to the side

"Oh great, not you too." Yelena said, throwing her hands up in frustration

"Now hear me out. Getting away from the situation you were in was what was best for you. He put you through a lot and it wasn't a good look when it got around the locker room. You did what you had to do, but once you decided to keep the kid, it was never about what's best for you anymore."

Yelena let out a groan. She had asked him because he was the only one who would be honest and give her advice from a father's perspective "What should I do? I mean he knows now. I don't know how the hell he found me the other day, but Chris is a persistent bastard. He'll go to the end of the world to find me now."

"With that being said, I think you already know what needs to happen." he told her

"I can't. Not again."

"You're going to have to." Roman told her bluntly "Do you think he's just going to let the fact that you're pregnant slip his mind? My advice to you is to sit down and talk. The last thing you want is for this to get ugly, Yelena. Would you rather work this out between you both or have a judge work it out for you in court?"

She cringed at the thought. She hadn't though about that. She fidgeted with the sunflower pendant at her throat. Would he seriously take it that far?

"At some point in time, you have to be the bigger person. You're having his child Yelena. Give him a chance. And if it doesn't work out, so what" he said with a shrug "At least no one can ever say you didn't try to do the right thing."

She grabbed her phone, bitterly removing his number from the block list.

She had learned her lesson about putting anything past Chris a long time ago.

"You gonna call him?" Ro asked, surprised

"No. I'll wait for him to call again. Shouldn't be long."

Roman only shook his head at her before standing up, ruffling her dark hair "Baby steps, I guess, but it's a start. Just talk to him. What's the worst that could happen?"

"You have no idea." she mumbled

He surprisingly didn't call for two days. She had started to think that he had given up.

He called while she was at the dog park with Bane. She let it ring four times before she got the courage to pick up

"You actually answered..."

"A phone ringing twenty four seven gets a bit annoying after a while." she said

"Is this the part where you hang up?" he asked sarcastically

"That depends. Is this the part where you call me out of my name? Or can you be cordial?" she fired back

"I was hoping you wouldn't listen to those messages." He said awkwardly

"They were left for me to hear."

"You know I didn't mean any of that, I was just angry. Can you blame me here?"

She sucked in a deep breathe, releasing it slowly "No. It's understandable. Now that you've gotten that off your chest, do you think we could try this again?"

"Yeah, sure." he agreed

After laying awake all night, she thought long and hard about what her life would have been, growing up without her own father. She could not image the emptiness she would of felt without him there and she had realized that she wasn't being fair to Chris. He hadn't wanted her to have the abortion in the first place and she had cruelly almost went through with it without considering his feelings. Damn Roman for being right

"In person?"

She heard him hesitate, before he answered "Yeah. Where are you?"

She gave him the address to the park and he told her he would be there in twenty minutes.

She was a nervous wreck, trying not to throw up her lunch, the anticipation killing her. Bane tried his best to distract her with his frisbee. She kept checking her phone, looking around for any sign of him.

After ten minutes went by, she started to backpedal, her thoughts getting the best of her. Who the hell was she kidding? How had she let Roman get her into this mess?

She yelled for Bane to return. She had to get out of there before Chris showed up

The rambunctious Great Dane ran circles around her, still in play mode, making it hard to hook his leash back on

"Bane, come on. You're not as small as you use to be and frankly, neither am I." She said, flustered and failing horribly at containing the overgrown puppy.

He squirmed, looking around her, a deep growl radiating from his chest.

She looked behind her, seeing a familiar frame approaching her.

She sat down on the bench slowly as he neared.

"Hey." he said.

"Hi."

He removed his aviator sunglasses, staring

"Please stop looking at me like that." she said self consciously

"Sorry." he said, shaking his head to clear his thoughts "You look different."

"Rounder, you mean" she said, rolling her eyes as she stroked Bane's thick neck

"Your hair." he clarified "And you look...more tan than usual. How long have you been in Florida?"

"Since I resigned."

"All this time. Right under my nose and I didn't even know." he said, shaking his head

"No one knew except Rosa and the Shield guys." she had purposely left Wade out. He lived four doors down from her and she didn't want him to know where she lived just yet.

"Hmmm.." he grunted

The air around them clouded with awkwardness and Bane let out a deep growl and she placed a hand on his head to shush him.

"Walk with me?" he asked, holding a hand out to her

The memory of mascara running down her face as she looked up at him from the floor of the hotel hallway, his hand out to her just like how it was now danced in front of her eyes. How funny it was, reflecting on that night of passion. The night they created the life she was carrying.

Deja vu at its highest level.

The baby was kicking wildly at her rib cage, as if urging her on encouragingly and she placed hire hand in his as he helped her to her feet

They walked in silence, Bane a few steps ahead of them

"How have you been?" he asked as they strolled on the path

She was great full that the trees above them were thick, shading them from the hot sun. She could feel herself perspiring, but the heat wasn't fully to blame "Okay... You?"

"Can't complain. Back on the road now after touring."

"I don't see how you manage doing one after the other."

"I manage."

More silence followed. She glance over at him, trying to ignore how his fitted v-neck shirt strained against his chest and arms.

She toyed with the sunflower pendant at her throat "Look I-"

"Listen-" he started just as she did

They both let out a nervous chuckle

"Go ahead." She urged, her cheeks reddening

"I just wanted to apologize for the things I said. I didn't mean any of it. I was just... A bit clusterfucked."

"Apology accepted." She assured

"Where you ever going to tell me?"

She was caught a bit off guard by the question "I... I don't know." she answered "I just figured since I changed my mind, you wouldn't want anything to do with me. No telling you was my way of doing you a favor, I guess."

They continued walking, she snuck another glance at him as they walked and chatted . It was a bit weird. Now a days they couldn't get through a conversation without exchanging vulgar language.

He was staring at his shoes, obviously deep in thought "How far along are you now?"

"Almost five months."

"Have you found out what the gender is yet?" he asked

"No, they pushed my appointment, I won't find out for another week." She watched as her rubbed the back of his neck. She thought of Roman's words on her mind. Be the bigger person. Give him a chance.

"Do you... Do you want to be there?" she awkwardly, putting the cards on the table

He looked up in surprise "Seriously?" he asked.

She instantly wished she hadn't said it, feeling like an idiot "I'm mean, if it's too much for you, you don't have to come. I'd understand if you didn't want to-"

"No, no!" he said eagerly "Yelena, of course I want to be there. Why wouldn't I want to?"

It was her turn to look down at her feet, barely visible over the bump "I just... I know this is a lot for you. I don't want you to feel obligated to come-"

He brought them to an abrupt stop "I want to be there." he assured her "If that's okay with you?"

She ducked her head away from his intense blue eyed gaze, her face burning. She had to will we heart to slow, nodding her head in response.

Bane pulled the leash, obviously annoyed that they had stopped walking and they proceeded on

"What day is it?" he asked, pulling out his phone

"Next Thursday at eleven."

He scrolled through the planner on her phone "Shit." he muttered

"If you have plans for that day, it's okay. I can go by myself."

"No, don't worry about it, I'll cancel. No big deal."

"You don't have to do that-" she protested

"Yelena." he said, cutting her off. "I'm not missing your appointment. I'll be there." he said sternly.

They had reached the parking lot and she got Bane into the back seat, before turning back to Chris

"This was... Nice. I'm glad we did this." he said

"Me too." she said, resting a hand on her belly "I'll text you the address, yeah?"

"Okay." he said, opening the driver side door for her

She fought a grin as she got in. He was really trying to get back in her good graces after leaving her those nasty messages.

He closed the door and she started the car up "Later you gigantic beast." he said to the Great Dane in the back seat

As if knowing he was being spoken to, Bane let out a growl in response

Chris raised a brow "Something tells me he doesn't like me very much."

"He's been the only male companion in my life for some time now." she joked lightly

"Well that's good to know. So I'll see you next week?" he said, smoothly changing the subject

"Yeah. Later Jericho."

"Seatbelt, woman." He reminded as she shifted gears

She clicked it into place as she back out, waving with a honk as she pulled off.

"I'm beginning to forget what your face looks like." Valilisa said when they're FaceTime connected

Yelena was about to greet her and stopped when she saw her sister's face. She looked beyond tired, the bags under her usually bright hazel-green eyes making her look older than she was

"Val..."

"I know, don't say it. I haven't put my makeup on yet."

"Have you been sleeping at all?" Yelena asked

"Yeah..."

Yelena narrowed her eyes, not buying it

"Not really... No..." Val said, averting her eyes from her sister as she ran a hand through her dark brown hair

"Val, what is going on with you?" Yelena asked, wishing she could be there in person to look at her sister clearly. From what she was seeing, she didn't like. She looked pale, the material Italian glow that she and her sister's shared gone. She was also noticeably thinner

"I'm just... A bit stressed out. Frederick and I... We're... trying to get pregnant and it's just... Stressing me out a little bit."

"A little bit?" Yelena asked "Val you look like shit."

"Thanks. I could say the same to you." Val said with a laugh

Yelena had to admit she was right. Her sleeping pattern wasn't the best these days and he had all but abandoned makeup "Have you at least seen a doctor? Stress isn't good when you're trying to get pregnant."

Or at least in anyone else's case. Stress was on her side the night she crawled back to Chris like a lost puppy.

"We're going to the fertility clinic tomorrow."

"Seriously?" Yelena asked

"Frederick wants to go. I mean... We've been married for four months. I've tried everything. Dad even suggested putting my feet against the wall over the headboard."

"Ew, oh god, please don't." she said, scrunching her nose "Do you seriously think you need to go as far as going to a fertility clinic? I mean you guys have only been married four months and you just started trying. I'm pretty sure it'll happen."

"I know, it's just... Fredrick..."

"Is he pressuring you into going?" Yelena asked, raising a brow

"No!" Val objected "I mean... There has to be a reason I'm not conceiving."

"Val... Are you forgetting that mom barely had us a year apart and Irina is two years older than us?" she fought the urge to tell her how fast her own birth control failed her after taking antibiotics and not using any protection "I'm pretty sure that the problem isn't with you and if he's putting the blame on you, there's something seriously wrong with that."

Val picked at her nails, clearly not convinced "We'll see after I get checked out."

"So how's mom and dad?" Yelena asked, trying to change the subject to something less downing

Just as she was about to answer, her head turned "Oh god." she muttered

"What?" Yelena asked

"Frederick is home early, Yelena I have to go-"

"VALILISA!" Frederick's voice boomed from downstairs

Yelena didn't miss the way her sister flinched at the sound of his tone

"Sorry, I gotta go. Love you Lena. Bye."

...

Yelena didn't bother to look in Rosa's direction when the Diva knocked on her office door "What?"

"I come in peace." She said, holding two cups from Starbucks. She invited herself in, placing the refresher on her desk and sitting down "Are you done being mad at me yet?"

"Not quite." she said, tearing open her straw, sticking it into her drink

"Seriously? Come on Yelena, you know I only did it because I care."

"I told you I didn't want to talk to him."

"But you did and what happened?"

Yelena pulled her phone out playing back the vulgar messages. She watched as her eyes widened with shock through each message "Yeah. The father of my child. Quiet the catch, isn't he?"

"I'm sorry" Rosa said, felling awful "When he came to me about it, he seemed remorseful, he made it seem like he really wanted to fix things. I guess I just made things worse... I'm really sorry."

"Stop apologizing. He knows now. The worst of it is behind us. I'm actually relieved that it's out there now. Like you said. I couldn't hide from him forever, right?"

"So you guys actually had a civilized conversation? I can't believe it worked."

"You don't get all the credit. Roman talked me into meeting with him after he ambushed me, thanks to you."

"At least you talked to him. How did it go." she asked

"Surprisingly well. He's going to the appointment with me next week."

"That's great! It's a start, right?"

She nodded, sipping her drink

"You nervous?" Rosa asked her with a knowing look

"About the appointment?"

"Well that to but no. Are you seriously ready to let him into your life again?"

Yelena contemplated her answer "No... After everything we've been through... I just... I'm not going to go there again, but that's not what this is about anymore. I'm doing this strictly for my child."

"Awww. I'm proud of you. You've grown up on me."

Yelena threw her balled up straw paper at her "Shut up." she said, closing her laptop and packing up her work for the day. "I have a meeting with Hunter. Meet me out front in thirty. You're buying me lunch."

"Yes ma'am." Rosa said, pulling her in for a tight hug "I'm sorry. Just in case I didn't say it enough. You were so mad, I was half expecting you to hit me at some point. I was more than prepared to call Irina and asked how much her plastic surgeon cost her."

"Ten grand." Yelena informed "but a twenty will do for lunch."

Rosa laughed "Sounds fair to me."

Hope you enjoyed. So they finally meet again. Thank Roman for being the voice of reason. I really didn't realize how long chapters are until I upload them on here and see the word count. Thank you as always for reading. Leave me great reviews and I might get motivated to finally start the next chapter like I was suppose to last week.

Next up, an inconvenience has Yelena in an awkward position and the gender is revealed! Reviews= New Chapter.
