OMG I meant to post this earlier this week and forgot, my apologies everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful New Years! Enjoy!

August 2, 2013

Chris parked his Range Rover on the curb in front of Yelena's townhouse.

There was a van parked in her driveway, a guy pulling tools out the back

Chris cut the engine, drumming his fingers against the steering wheel. Yelena had gotten a call, letting her know that a repair man was almost finished fixing her air conditioner and that she could go home in a few days. He had to admit that he wasn't thrilled in the slightest way about her leaving.

She was already avoiding him like the plague after the incident in his kitchen and his most recent scare had him on edge.

He had panicked when she didn't return one night after work and wouldn't answer his calls. Full Sail University would be hosting an NXT show and he drove from Orlando to Winter Park like a bat out of hell, the odds of him missing his flight to get to the city RAW would be in the furthest thing from his mind.

By the time he found her backstage, he was fuming

"Where the hell have you been?" He asked, turning her around abruptly

Lana excused herself "I'll let you two talk."

Yelena, who had her phone halfway to her ear, looked surprised to see him "I was just about to call."

"Sure you fucking were." he said nastily "I've been calling you since yesterday."

Yelena raised a brow at his tone "I was busy. I do still have a job and priorities. Aren't you suppose to be flying out to Albuquerque?"

"I was, until I couldn't get a hold of you. Why didn't you come back last night?" he demanded

"I was too tired to make the drive so I stayed at Rosa's last night. I left my phone here by mistake, which means I didn't wake up on time because I had no alarm. I literally just got here fifteen minutes ago. Lana needed to talk to me and like I said," She waved the phone in her hand "I was just about to call."

"I couldn't get ahold of you. When you didn't come home last night, I was worried sick."

"You're being dramatic, I just told you what happened. I can take care of myself, I don't have to report my whereabouts to you every second of the day."

"That's not the fucking point!" He snapped

A few heads turned in their direction and her green eyes hardened, turning three shades darker.

"Don't raise your voice at me like that. I'm not a child and I'm in my place of business and you will not make a scene in here and embarrass me. Not again."

Chris pinched the bridge of his nose, trying to reel in his temper. He really didn't want to get ugly with her before he left town, but she wasn't listening. He sighed, bringing the volume of his voice down a few pegs before he tried again.

"Anything could of happened. You could have been in a ditch somewhere, hurt and I would have been in the blind because you didn't let me know you weren't coming home last night. Or worse, I thought you were..."

He didn't want to finish that sentence. By no means would he speak the idea of her leaving him into existence.

She seemed to pick up on what he meant fairly quickly "Chris... We've talked about this." she said, her voice gentle now

He leaned against the wall "You can't just fall off the grid like that anymore. I know you didn't mean anything by it, but when you disappear like that, it doesn't put me in a good place mentally." he said

"I know. I'm sorry." she apologized "I didn't mean to worry you. That wasn't my intention."

"I know. Just... if you can't make the drive, call. Shoot me a text. You almost gave me heart attack for god's sake, woman." he said, trying to lighten the mood

"I know. I didn't mean to worry you. I'm fine. We're fine." She assured, placing a hand on her tummy.

He reached out, his hand finding the curve of her bump, stroking it lightly "That's all I care about."

He pulled her in for a hug, folding her into his arms with ease. It was the first bit of contact they'd had in days. He placed a kiss on her forehead and reluctantly released her "I gotta go. If I don't catch the next flight, Stephanie will have my ass."

Just his luck, Hunter had just turned the corner, spotting the main roster superstar immediately on sight

"Jericho!" The C.O.O's voice boomed "What in god's name are you doing here? Your flight left two hours ago." He was making a beeline right at him

"Now you've done it." Chris said, flashing her a dazzling smile "Text me as soon as you walk through the door." he said sternly

"I will. Go, before he blows a fuse." she urged

It happened in a blink of an eye. A light kiss was placed on her mouth. Not a full blown kiss, but enough to shock her senseless

"Bye." he said, turning on his heel, leaving her dumbfounded

...

He followed the man around back "Hey."

The guy turned. His name stitched into his shirt read Kyle. He looked young, like he was fresh out of college. Good. This wouldn't be hard

"I'm the owner's boyfriend. How much longer until the issue is fixed?"

The guy shrugged nonchalantly "I might get it done tomorrow if I get enough finished before sundown." he said, kneeling in the grass in front of the AC unit

Chris dug his wallet out of his back pocket "How much are you getting paid for this job?"

"Three hundred bucks. The job was originally my uncle's, but he's out sick. My boss is shorting me out big time, but I need the money. My girlfriend just had a baby. Bills don't pay themselves. Why? What is it to you man?" Kyle asked

"This might sound a little bit crazy, but I

kind of need this postponed as long as possible. So I'll make you a deal." Chris said, pulling six crisp one hundred dollar bills out "Let the head lady in charge of the office know that the problem with this unit is worse than you thought and that it's gonna take you a few more weeks to fix and I'll make sure you get an extra six hundred when you do actually finish."

He didn't need to convince him any further. Chris stood outside the office the whole time to ensure the the kid held up his side of the bargain. He did and felt a great deal of satisfaction as he handed over the money. With that out of the way, he turned his car homeward.

"I love you too daddy. Tell mom I said hi. Okay. Bye."

Yelena hung up her phone, spirits high after the three hour conversation with her father. She hadn't realized how much she missed him. He had caught her up on what he and the rest of the family had been up to. Irina was currently in Morocco. Her mother was away visiting her aunt Sonia in Washington. Apparently she and her uncle weren't doing so well in the marriage department and they had been having behavioral issues with their only daughter, Myia.

Her mother had offered to take the eighteen year old in for a few months while her parents figured things out and, in true Emilia fashion, did not think to even consult with her husband and make sure he was okay with it.

She could tell the possibility of having a hell raising teen under his roof after all these years was not sitting well with him.

She asked about Valilisa.

"I haven't seen your sister in weeks. She hasn't been returning my calls. I went by her house to check on her. Frederick said she went out of town to visit an old friend from college. Odd, she usually tells us things like that."

She realized she hadn't spoken to her sister herself since she abruptly ended their call when her husband arrived home. She FaceTimed her, looking at the phone weirdly when the call rejected and a regular phone call came through instead

"Hey weirdo." Yelena greeted

"Hey, sorry, my battery is low. What's up?" Val asked

"I just got off the phone with dad. He told me you haven't been answering his calls. You okay?"

"God I'm so tired of everyone asking me that, I'm fine! Jesus Christ, can't I have some time to myself?"

Yelena was taken aback "I just wanted to make sure you were okay, Val. I haven't talked to you in weeks and you kind of looked like a nervous wreck. What's going on with you? You're not yourself."

She heard her sister draw in a deep breath "I'm sorry I don't mean to be snappy with you, Lena."

"It's fine Val. Talk to me. What's going on?"

"Frederick's sister is pregnant with her second child and they haven't even been married two years. I had to sit through the most awkward dinner with his parents. His mother just kept making jabs at me and he didn't even say anything to defend me and he's been so... cold towards me since, I had to get away from the tension in the house."

"Aw, Lisa, I'm so sorry."

"Mom has been down my throat about the results from our fertility tests and I won't get them for another week."

Yelena rolled her eyes "Forget about mom, who gives a crap about her."

"I wish it were that easy."

Yelena's heart went out for her sister. She wished she were there to help her get through this

The front door opened and Bane let out a booming bark, padding to the front door

Chris came into the kitchen a few seconds later, Bane on his heel.

She had to pry her eyes away from his bare chest. What was wrong with her? This man was shirtless ninety nine percent of the time on his job and she'd seen him shirtless before. Hell, she'd seen him without a stitch of clothing on at all.

"Hey" he said, clipping her under the chin in passing to the refrigerator

The small gesture made her spine tingle "Hey." she said weakly

"Is that Chris?" Val asked

"Hey Val. How are you?" Chris asked

"I'm doing well. How are you? Can we expect to see you at our father's birthday party in November?"

Chris quirked a brow "Your sister didn't invite me."

Yelena rolled her eyes, trying to hide her reddened cheeks

"Well I'm personally inviting you. Just make sure you drag her along. We haven't seen her since the wedding and I'm starting to think she wants to disown us,"

"You have my word I'll get her there." Chris promised

"Val, work is getting hectic, I'm not saying no, but I'm not making any promises either."

"You'll be on leave in November, there's no reason for you to miss your father's birthday."

"On leave for what exactly?" Val asked, her interest clearly peaked "The way she makes it sound, she's breaking her back under the load of work they're throwing at her."

Chris shot her a confused glance, staying quiet

"Um, Val, I have a call coming in, I'm going to have to call you back." She abruptly hung up before her sister could respond

"What was that about?" Chris asked

"Did you have to tell her I wouldn't be at work?"

"Um... I wasn't aware it was a secret. I would think you would have told them you would be on maternity leave."

Her hand went to her throat, twisting the sunflower pendant nervously

Chris narrowed his eyes, realization dawning on him "Yelena. You did tell your family right?"

Her eyes dropped to her black painted toes

Chris tipped her face back up to meet his eye "Seriously?" he asked bluntly

"I was waiting for the right time to tell them." She said, chewing her lip

"When exactly would that have been? When you were in the stirrups?"

"I really don't need a lecture from you right now Jericho." She said, turning her face so his hand dropped. His touch was sending her nerves into live wire.

"I wasn't trying to, but this isn't something that can be brushed under the rug until you feel like talking about it. We are actually on limited time, sweetheart"

"I know. I'm going to tell them." She said halfheartedly.

Chris clearly wasn't buying "When?"

"Soon." she said, standing. She hadn't slept well for the fourth night in a row and was in desperate need of a nap "I'm going to try and rest."

"That reminds me. I have something for you. I'll bring it up in a minute."

She nodded, heading up the stairs to her room. She changed into a pair of sweats and a giant shirt before crawling into bed. Her muscles relaxed instantly and she let out a low sigh. She had been on her feet all day, doing a photo shoot. She had switched to wearing flats instead of heels and even that wasn't helping.

As soon as she laid down, the twins shifted within her. They had been still all day, probably lulled to sleep while she had been running around like a chicken without its head all day and now that she wanted to sleep, they were up and as active as ever.

She heard Chris coming up the stairs, appearing with a giant box

"What's that?" she asked as he sat the box on the bed in front of her, opening it.

"It's a pregnancy pillow. I thought it would help you sleep better. Wow that feels awesome" he said, squeezing the long noodle "Give it a try." He handed it to her

It was tan with white polka dots and just about as long as her whole body. She gave it a squeeze, it felt incredible and she shifted onto her left side, slipping the pillow slightly under her bump for support, looping the end in between her legs. She had read in one of her books that sleeping on the left side increases the amount of blood and nutrients that reach the placenta and the babies.

She could feel her body relax as the memory foam formed to her body and looked at Chris gratefully "Its amazing. Thank you."

He put the box on the floor, sitting on the bed "We can order in tonight if you're tired. I don't want you on your feet making dinner."

For once, she didn't argue, sending him a grateful smile "Chinese?"

"Beef Lo Mein?"

A small smile crept onto her face. He remembered. Her mind flashed back briefly to their lazy days in bed, eating Chinese after a few rounds in the sheets.

She nodded with a yawn.

He leaned over, pressing a light kiss on her forehead "I'll wake you up in a few hours."

He picked up the box and left, leaving the door ajar

She let sleep slide over her, falling into an easy slumber

"Holy boobs. You look so fucking gorgeous." Ross said, hugging her bestie

Yelena released the Diva and moved aside to let her in.

She had decided to stop by Chris's house on her way home to drop off some stuff she bought for the twins.

"Are you kidding, I'm a whale."

"Stop it, you're beautiful. God, I wish I look half as good as you when I get pregnant." Rosa said, setting down the half a dozen bags hanging from her arms

Yelena ran her fingers through her messy hair self consciously. Rosa looked so

nice in her bright yellow summer dress and wedges, not to mention thin and as flawless as ever. It made her own self esteem drop even lower. She could have at least ran a brush through her hair or changed out of her sweats and tank top

She hadn't been feeling her best lately, despite actually being able to get a few good hours of sleep. After getting on the scale and finding out she had gained another five pounds, she has felt defeated. Her doctor had to remind her that it was healthy weight, a sign that the twins were growing, but on average, a woman expecting twins was suppose to gain thirty five to forty five pounds and the thought mortified her.

She had already packed on twenty pounds at five months. What would she weigh in the next two?

They went through all the baby stuff Rosa bought, which cheered her up a bit. Rosa had gone all out, buying the cutest clothes. Nikki had also sent some gifts as well, leaving her wide-eyed at the expensive Burberry rompers and matching shoes shoes.

Chris came home while they were still sprawled out on the floor in in a mass of pink clothing "Ew, who let you in?" he didn't bother to look up the mail he was flipping through, obviously talking to Rosa

She rolled her eyes in response as she got to her feet "My cue to leave. I'd hate to smash something else into your skull and actually go to jail this time."

"Rehab, jail. All fun times for you." he said, leaning over to place a kiss on Yelena's forehead

Yelena didn't miss the way Rosa shot her a sly grin "Chris, behave." she held her hands out for him to help her up

He pulled her to her feet with ease "You feeling okay?" he asked, scanning her face

A slight blush stained her cheeks when he didn't release her hands "Yeah."

She felt self conscious, if anything. Now she really wished she had made herself presentable. She could only imagine how horrible she looked. She pulled away shyly, walking Rosa to the door.

The grin returned when they were out of earshot "You are so blind to the way he looks at you."

"What do you mean?" Yelena asked as they reached the foyer

"Yelena, come on. When did you start letting him greet you with sweet little forehead kisses?" the Latina teased

She only shrugged. She had gotten so use to it after he had kissed her before rushing off to catch his flight that she barely noticed it now. It was an innocent gesture, right?

"He wants you. As much as I hate it. I can't even be mad at him. Hell, if I had a dick, I'd want you too. Seriously, do you have any idea how much people would pay for boobs like yours?" Rosa said, reaching out to give her boob a squeeze

Yelena scrunched her nose in disagreement, knocking her hand away playfully "I wish you would stop saying that."

"He does! I don't know how you can't see it. You know him better than I do. You two use to be like rabbits, there's no way you can't see the way he eye fucks you."

"Other than what happened a few weeks ago, he barely looks at me. Like he has a good reason to look twice. I like pure shit all the time." She muttered, discouraged

She had filled Rosa in on what happened when Chris so innocently rubbed her shoulders for her and how she was close to pouncing on him. Her hormones were getting worse and worse with each passing month. Funny how something completely harmless as a massage had gotten her blood boiling. It made her realize how much she had been lacking in the needs department.

"Chris wouldn't touch me if I begged him." she half joked

"Why not?" Rosa asked with an exasperated sigh

Yelena let out a snort, making an obvious gesture to her ballooning belly "Hello?!"

Rosa only rolled her brown eyes "I'm sure it's going to take more than that to stop him from fucking you senseless, believe me chica. You just won't know until you try."

"I'd prefer not to embarrass myself, thank you."

"If you say so." She said, opening the front door "The Shield guys and I are going to Daytona Beach next weekend, you want to come? We're thinking about renting a giant beach house. Brie, Brian, Nikki and John are coming too."

Yelena pondered on it. It did sound fun and she missed her friends dearly "Sure, why not."

Rosa squealed in excitement "Yay! I'll call you tomorrow with more details. You should invite Chris. I'm sure he'd love to come too."

Yelena gave her a suspicious look. It wasn't like her to just voluntarily invite Chris to tag along to anything.

They said their goodbyes and she closed the door.

Chris cleared his throat behind her, making her jump.

"Christ Jericho, you almost scared me to death." How long had he been standing there? Better yet, how much had he heard?

He approached her "Sorry sweetheart. I was wondering if you wanted pizza tonight or were you in the mood for... something else?"

Yelena's heart skipped a beat at his tone.

A tone she knew all too well.

His lips twitched the slightest bit as he eyed her, his blue eyes filled with mischief as they traveled over her. He was close, not so close that he was violating her personal space, but close enough.

A shiver cascaded down her spine as he took a step closer and she took a step back, her back hitting the door.

He said nothing, watching her like lion, his blue eyes smoldering.

She could feel her heart beat in her throat. If he got any closer, looking at her like that, she wouldn't be responsible for what she did next.

And he knew it. He had unintentionally heard every word of their conversation. He had no idea how pent up she really was. She hid it well. He had given her space since the incident that happened in his kitchen, thinking that he had made her uncomfortable. He didn't want her to flee, so he backed off. But now that he knew how she really felt...

del Rio's words echoed in his mind

"Best sex you'll ever have."

Her green eyes disappeared behind her lids and he waited for the tell tale sign. He would wait forever if he had to. He wanted to be sure before he made any more advances in the future.

"Please. Please, for the love of god. Do it."

As if reading his mind, she drew her bottom lip in between her teeth and he had to stop himself from letting out a groan, her green eyes burning him. Oh she wanted him and if he didn't have any morals, he would have taken her right there against his front door. She didn't even realize how her desire was radiating off of her skin, pleading to be extinguished

It made is own lust unbearable and his groin twitched, a dull ache creeping into his pants. He had to reign it back in as he pressed the pizza menu onto her hand

"Why don't you order the pizza while I go shower?"

She nodded and he retreated up the stairs to the master bedroom, where he went into his bathroom, turning the shower on full blast, the water ice cold. God help him if this didn't help.

Oh boy, the dry spell is getting a bit uncomfortable for them both, but now that Chris has an idea on how Yelena feels, will he act? Should he? I can't remember if I said I would reveal the twins' names in this chapter and clearly it didn't happen, but it will in the next chapter, which I'm proud to say, I've already started!

Not a super eventful chapter, but the next few will definitely be picking up. Hope you enjoyed, don't forget to drop me a review! Those help keep me motivated and speed up chapters *yes that is a bribe*. Reviews keep coming in lower and lower and it's making me sad, I'm not gonna lie :-(
