Enjoy!
You busy?
xRandy
Not really. Hanging out in the gym with Punk downstairs. Why, what's up?
xYelena
Her phone was snatched away "Philip." she groaned
"Nope. It was your idea to wake me up at the ass crack of morning to work out, I'll be damned if you ditch me for Orton again." he said, locking her IPhone, tucking it away in the pocket of his shorts for good measure
They had been working the treadmill for two hours, catching up and Phil has switched to burpees, which she obviously couldn't take part in. She had been spending pretty much all her time with Randy for the past three days while Chris was busy running himself mad with appearances, visiting Children's hospitals, and preparing for his last few matches. Just yesterday he had stolen her away from Punk in the middle of their movie marathon and Punk was having none of it.
"So when are you popping?" Punk asked, wiping the sweat from his brow
"Late December."
Punk shook his head "I still can't believe your pregnant with Jericho's kids. Shit is unreal. How'd your family take the news? I would have paid to see Irina's face."
Yelena scratched her ear "You might still be able to pay up. She doesn't know... and neither does the rest of my family. Don't you judge me!" She said speedily when Punk's mouth dropped
"Why am I not fucking surprised."
"I haven't figured out how to break the news to them yet."
"You mean to tell me that you haven't spoken to any of them since you moved?"
"I've talked to my dad and Val a few times."
Phil said nothing, blinking at her, his green eyes filling with disappointment
"Don't look at me like that Punk. This hasn't been the easiest situation to be in. I'm knocked up by a man I was never in a real relationship with, I quit my job, up and moved to a different state and now I'm living with the father of my kids and I don't even know what the hell we are."
"I believe the term your looking for is 'shacking up'"
She flipped him the finger "And in the middle of all of this chaos, I'm having two babies before the year is over and I don't know what I'm doing."
"It's hard to tell from the outside looking in that you and Chris are winging the hell out of this. Truth be told, you both look so happy... I honestly thought you were finally together."
Yelena sighed "We're not..."
"Well have you... talked to him about it?"
"No..." she said, her eyes falling to her moving feet on the treadmill
"Why not?"
"Because I don't want to ruin what we have right now. Things are good and the last time I confronted him..." she didn't want to think about emotions and physical pain she felt that day when he found out she was pregnant. She wouldn't wish that kind of pain on her worse enemy.
"Yelena." Punk started, reaching over to pull the key from the treadmill she was on to bring it to a halt "Things aren't how they were. I'm not saying I don't understand how hard things are for you, but you're having the man's kids, living with him, sleeping in the same bed." he said, making a playful gagging noise
She cracked a small smile, which he was glad to see "We haven't-"
He put a hand up "I love you, but let's not even get into that, I don't need to know." he said "The drama from last year and the fact that after everything you've done to each other, you both somehow can't let this weird ass thing between you go. That has to mean something is there, right?"
She shrugged
"You won't get answers until you demand them."
"What if this all was a plot to cage me in? So I can't be with anyone but him? You know Chris, he'll do what he has to do to get what he wants and now that I'm pregnant with his kids... He's told me on multiple occasions in the past that no one can have me while he's breathing."
"Are you telling me you feel trapped?"
"No... but as many times as Chris has pulled the rug out from under me, I can't say I'm not still waiting on it. He can be what I want him to be as long as he's getting his way. This whole thing could be a complete act to pull the wool over my eyes."
"I hope for his sake that you have this wrong."
"I hate thinking like that, I really do. I want to be positive, but we both know I'm a complete and utter fool when it comes to that man."
"I can't disagree with you on that one. Just talk to him." He said, patting her shoulder "If anything, at least you'll finally know where you stand."
The door to the gym swung open, forcing to them to leave the conversation there and Punk rolled his eyes "Hello Randall."
Yelena couldn't stop the bright smile that bloomed on her face as he threw an arm around her shoulder "Hate to interrupt, but I'm stealing her away."
"Yeah, I figured." Punk ruffled her hair "I'll shoot you a text later Slugger."
...
"Earth to Yelena." Randy called
"Huh? Oh... Sorry."
"I was wondering when you were going to realize that was running all over your hand." Randy nodded towards the chocolate ice cream dripping all over her waffle cone.
They had walked, with protests from Randy the whole time, to the nearest ice cream parlor not far from their hotel.
She quickly lapped at her sticky fingers "Sorry. Blanked out for a second there."
"Are you okay?" he asked, finishing up his scoop of strawberry frozen yogurt
"Yeah, I'll be fine. I just... have a lot on my mind."
"Want to talk about it?"
She shook her head "It's just me overthinking, as usual. I'm sure it'll be fine." she said halfheartedly
"I'm sure it will. If you ever need to talk or vent, you know I'm always here, right?"
"You're the best."
"Are you going to finish that?" He asked, eyeing her ice cream longingly
She let out a giggle, handing the cone over and watched him devour it
"Mmmm" he hummed "There goes my diet for the next forty eight hours. I haven't had real ice cream in months."
"I can tell." she laughed
As if summoned by the gods, a cloud passed over the sun and Randy looked up "Uh oh."
"What?" Yelena asked, stating upward too
"Ever see a downpour in California?" he asked, tossing the rest of the ice cream away, taking her by the hand "I think we'd better hurry back before-"
A bolt of lightning streaked he sky, followed by the boom of thunder "Woah." She had seen a lot of storms in Florida, but this was rare
"I don't think standing out in the open is the best idea right now." Randy laughed, pulling her along
A drop of rain splashed her cheek, followed by three more before the sidewalk got spotted with wet dots "I don't think we're going to make it."
The sky decided right then and there to unleash hell, drenching them
"Shit." Randy swore "Come here."
She didn't have time to react to him scooping her up in his arms, sprinting the rest of the way to the hotel. When they made it to the lobby, he set her on her feet with ease. They were soaking wet. Randy went into the gift shop and bought them beach towels to dry off with.
She had to fight her teeth from chattering in the cool breeze in the lobby, thankful when he wrapped a towel around her before calling the elevator
"Well that was fun." he said, using the end of her towel to catch the drops of water dripping from her dark hair.
"Good times." she laughed
He ran his hands up and down her shoulders lightly to warm her
The door to the elevator opened and Yelena fought the urge to roll her eyes
"Aww, well isn't this cute?" Summer Rae cooed at the exes "Taking a trip down memory lane, are we?"
Something about that girl really set Yelena on edge. She chose to politely ignore her all together, muttering an "Excuse me" before getting on the elevator.
Randy let out a snicker as he pressed the buttons to their floors
"What?" Yelena asked
"Does she have any real friends?"
"Does Johnny really count?" she asked smartly
"He doesn't have much of a choice since he's stuck with her."
"She just rubs me the wrong way. Don't get me wrong, she can be... pleasant when needed, but she likes to stir up shit."
"You think she's going to say something about us hanging out?"
"I wouldn't be surprised." she said rolling her eyes
SummerSlam, Los Angles, California
Kicking off the biggest event of the summer, Yelena sat backstage with Nikki and Brie. Chris was off somewhere talking to Hunter about his return date, so she decided to spend some time with the girls. It was a bitter sweet night for her. The time that she had spent with her road family had been beyond enjoyable and it took her up until her last night with them to realize how much she missed the fast lane.
She was awestruck watching the Hounds of Justice square off with Big Show, Mark Henry and Rob Van Dam.
"Are you sure you can't stay for RAW tomorrow night? I heard it's going to big." Brie asked
"As much as I would love to, Chris wants us home. He'll be leaving to go on tour soon and I want to spend as much time with him as possible."
They watched the next few matches before the twins had to go get ready for their own, teaming with Eva Marie against Nattie, Cameron, and Naomi.
She was chatting with Cody's soon to be wife in a few days, Brandi, better known as Eden Styles about wedding details when Randy found her
He said a polite hello to his former Legacy partner's significant other before grinning at her "Got a minute?" Randy asked
"Sure."
He led the way down the hall to his dressing room "I have to be at a last minute meeting and if Hunter gets there before I do, he's going to wring my neck." he said, opening the door for her "I'll make this quick."
She looked at him curiously as he located his duffle bag, digging through it for a moment before he found what he was searching for
"Oh my god, where did you find this?" she asked
He handed her the yellow teddy bear he had won her at the carnival on their first date "On my bus."
"Awwww Randy." she said, hugging the stuffed animal to her chest "Thank you." she said, her voice shaky. The rush of emotions floored her and she wiped at her damp eyes "Damn it, now look what you've done."
He let out a chuckle "Don't do that" he said, wiping her tears with his thumbs "I didn't have the heart to throw it out. Since this will be the last time I see you for a while, I wanted to give it back to you. Maybe the kid can have it."
"More like fight over it."
Randy gave her a confused look
"Oh god, I didn't tell you, did I?" she said, wanting to smack herself in the forehead "I'm having twins."
Randy's icy blue eyes widened "No shit?"
"No shit." she stated
"Congratulations Sunshine. I'll be expecting my invite to the baby shower in the mail."
"Of course."
There was a knock on the door "Mr. Orton? We need you in the conference room in two minutes!"
Randy let out a sigh "I guess they're going with it after all." he muttered to himself, grabbing the red briefcase next to his luggage. He kissed the top of her head "Take care of yourself and those babies. I'll see you soon."
"You too Randy."
With one last grin, he was gone
Yelena made it back to a monitor just in time to watch Punk's gruesome no disqualifications match against Lesnar. She was thankful there was no blood involved this time, but the chair shot to Punk's head for the finish made her wince. The frustration on the Straight Edge superstar's face once he recovered wasn't hard to miss. The fans still praised him, chants of "CM PUNK" were deafening and could be heard all throughout the arena before he limped to the back. She passed Paul and Brock on her way to the curtain and congratulated him on a match well done before she finally found Punk. He looked like his usual state of hell if not worse, AJ had his arm around her shoulder, leading him in the direction of the training room, no doubt on his way to pay Dr. Amann a visit. It worried her that his trips to the trainers were becoming beyond frequent.
She wrapped his free arm around her shoulder to help support him too
"Where would I be without you two?" he asked, still winded from his match
"Probably dead." AJ said bluntly
Punk let out what should have been a laugh, but winced, a serious of hacking coughs following. She watched, worrisome when he started violently dry heaving.
They barely had time to step aside when he vomited all over the floor
"Crap" AJ said, snatching a towel from a passerby to wipe his pale face "I was hoping he would have made it to the doc before he started blowing chunks."
"Punk-" Yelena said, touching his shoulder
"I'm fine, I promise." he said, mopping up the sweat from his face, before turning to AJ "You have a match."
"Let me at least get you to the training room first." AJ said
They could hear Big E's music playing from the ring.
"Go." Yelena urged "I can get him there."
"I'll be in there as soon as this is over okay?"
Punk nodded and she kissed his forehead before running back to the curtain
Yelena stepped over the mess in the hall "Can you walk?"
"I don't think so. Be a peach and go get Amann. Tell him to ready my favorite table. I'm sure he's expecting me."
Where are you?"
xChris
It was the fourth text he had sent in the past thirty minutes and had yet to receive a response
Chris caught Dean by the arm in passing "Have you seen Yelena?"
"Earlier. Haven't seen her since." Ambrose said
Chris sighed, backtracking. Maybe she was in catering? Arriving in the jam packed room, he saw no sign of her, but went over to the table filled with Divas anyway to ask if they'd seen her
"Last I saw of her, she was with Randy, heading to his locker room." Summer said
"Orton's locker room?" Now, why the hell would she be there
"Yeah. They've been practically glued to each other all week. But that was an hour ago. Maybe she's still there?" Summer asked innocently
After being escorted with help, Punk was finally looked over. AJ was there, as promised as soon as her match ended. Seeing that he was in good hands, she gave them some privacy as they talked in hushed voices in the corner of the room.
A little ways into the main event, she had to pee really bad and just her luck, the bathrooms on their side of the arena she was on was out of order. She'd be pushing her luck if she tried to find another one, so she followed the stairs to the public bathrooms that was used by the fans. A few people were walking around, buying merchandise or getting refills and popcorn. She had high hopes that she blended in enough not to be noticeable as she slipped into one of the restrooms
She was at the sink washing her hands when a blonde came in. She was pretty and slender, dressed up a bit for a wrestling show. Yelena noticed the diamond earring she she wore when the light caught them.
"Your earrings are gorgeous." She complimented
The blonde smiled, reapplying her lipstick, her eyes never leaving her reflection "Thank you. My ex husband bought them for me for our last wedding anniversary. I wore them just for the occasion."
When the woman finally turned to meet her eyes, Yelena couldn't help but feel her nerves spark. Odd.
The woman gave her a once over, her blue eyes filled with something Yelena couldn't quite put her finger on "You look ready to pop. When are you due?"
"December." Yelena said, putting a hand protectively over her baby bump
"How sweet, congratulations. You and the father must be so excited."
Yelena just blinked at her as she smiled, picking up her purse "Have a good night."
"You too..."
When she was gone, Yelena felt like she had to reel in her nerves. Pulling out her phone, she noticed she had six missed calls from Jericho and four texts asking where she was.
"Crap." She muttered, shooting him a text
My phone was on silent, sorry
xYelena
We need to talk, meet you by the car in 15
xChris
She raised a brow, contemplating on what they needed to talk about. Pocketing her phone, she made her way back to the training room to check on Punk. By the way the crowd was cheering, she wasn't surprised at all when she reached the monitor that Daniel Bryan had successfully captured the WWE Championship at last. Hunter handed Bryan the title and John shook his hand before shaking hands with Hunter and Daniel lead the crowd in a "YES!" Chant as confetti dropped and pyros blasted.
The moment was interrupted when Randy's music hit and Mr. Money in the Bank made his way down the ramp, stopping just outside the ring to hold up hold briefcase mockingly at the champion, staring him down before turning to leave.
Bryan started up another "Yes!" Chant before being kicked abruptly in the gut by the C.O.O., shocking the hell out of the crowd
Both Yelena and AJ let out gasps as Hunter gave Bryan the Pedigree, much to Punk's annoyance and Randy handed Hunter his briefcase and the Special Guest Referee called for the bell. The Viper, with little effort, hooked Bryan's leg and Hunter did an easy three count for the pinfall and just like, we had a new champion.
"Playing it safe like the chickenshit he is. What a nice screw job, bravo Hunter." Punk said, sarcastically applauding
"Fucking hell!" Chris cursed after hitting his head on the trunk, the swear echoing loudly through the parking garage where he was loading his bags into the car, slamming the it more aggressively than he intended. He had to calm down, if he didn't calm down before Yelena got to the car, he was going to go the hell off. He tried to talk himself down. So she had been hanging out with her ex all week. Big deal right?
Yeah right, there was no way in hell he was brushing this off that easily. Thinking about how she looked like she hadn't moved every day that he returned to their hotel room, in sweats, hair rumpled like she hadn't bothered to lift a finger to call room service had him stewing a curse out she would never forget.
"I know that look all too well."
He felt the color drain from his face at the familiar voice. No. Surely it couldn't be...
You could almost here the bones crack in his neck, the way his head swiveled around "Jess, what the hell are you doing here?"
"I was in town and wanted to see you." the blonde shrugged, progressing towards him slowly
Chris took a step back when she got too close "Across the damn country, in the same city as my last show, and here, at the same arena? How conveniently coincidental."
"You didn't think I'd miss an opportunity at the last goodbye before your tour, did you?"
"Actually I did, considering our last goodbye was suppose to be the last goodbye. Permanently." he said matter of factly.
His ex wife's blue eyes sparkled with mischief "I must say, you almost had me convinced when you all but put me out of our house, but you know I can't stay mad or away for long."
"My house." he corrected "I don't recall you ever paying any bills and that seems to be the damn problem" he said, getting back on topic "Jessica, seriously, we can't keep doing this shit. We got divorced for a reason, remember?"
"Yeah, because you couldn't keep your dick in your pants, if my memory serves me right." She said testily
His eyes bulged at her audacity "Yeah, and you couldn't keep a dick out of your mouth if you truly want to go there."
"Oh, here we go!" she said, snorting nastily "You never could own up to being the reason I cheated in the first place!"
"Keep your damn voice down." He said through clenched teeth "This is exactly why we couldn't work things out. All this tit for tat bullshit. You act like I'm the bad guy when it was you acting like a controlling, resentful ice queen when I wouldn't tuck my dreams away for you like I'd been doing through our whole marriage and if you weren't being a frigid bitch, I wouldn't have started cheating."
Her hand lashed out to strike him, but he caught it with ease "You're a fucking bastard"
"So I've been told." he said, venom clear as day in his words "You shouldn't have come here looking for shit from me. This is done between us for good Jess. Leave before..."
His heart seemed to stop beating at the thought of Yelena seeing him with her and he dropped her hand like it had physically burned him "Goodbye Jessica. Have a nice life."
The sudden gear shift in emotion almost caught him by surprise when her blue eyes filled with tears "You don't mean that Chris..."
"If I see you in hell, it'd be too soon." he replied in all honesty "How the hell did you even get in here? Get the hell out of here before I call security."
"Chris-" she tried, her voice soft, pleading, reaching for him "I-"
"I'm not kidding around. Leave, Jess. Now."
"Come on, Chris, can I just-"
"LEAVE JESSICA!" he barked at her
She jumped slightly, his voice echoing through the empty garage, screwing her mouth shut, years falling, she tucked her tail in between her legs and did as she was told, the sound of her heels clicking fading as he got into the car, bringing it to life. He hadn't realized his head was on the steering wheel until the passenger door opened abruptly, making him jump, the horn sounding loudly through the garage that was now filling with his co-workers.
Yelena raised a brow at him as she tried to settle as comfortably in her seat as her belly would allow
"Did I scare you?" she asked innocently, flashing that shy smile he adored
He let out a sigh, the past week seemed to be hitting him like a train now that he'd been confronted by his ex wife to put the cherry on top and it was a great relief to know that they'd be home in five hours.
A small smile pulled at his lips
"What?" she asked, clearly self conscious
When would she learn that she had no reason to feel self conscious in the slightest? "Ready to go home?"
A serene smile blossomed on her lips "So ready."
Taking her left hand from her lap, he placed a delicate kiss on her knuckles "Me too."
Something like electricity charged within the small space between them as their eyes locked and he knew immediately it was coming from the woman sitting next to him. Leaning over the console between them, their hands found each other's face at the exact same moment, their lips battling a Great War for dominance. He slipped his tongue into her mouth and her moan almost drove him up the wall. Air was the last thing on their minds until the car parked in front of theirs flipped on their high beams, honking their horn loudly.
"Get a damn room, will you?!" It was Jimmy Usos hanging out the window of their rental, his twin brother Jey behind the wheel, still blowing the horn at them, cat calling.
She pulled away, her cheeks flaming from embarrassment and he placed a chaste kiss on the tip of her nose before flipping the twins the bird and honking back
"Save all that for home Uce, we're on a schedule here!"
Laughing, he put the car in reverse and pulled smoothly out of the parking space , letting them pull their bigger vehicle up and through to get out, following behind them
"Seatbelt woman." Chris ordered
She rolled her eyes, fighting with the belt over her round middle before clicking it into place as they pulled out of the garage. The fans were waiting, spitting them with ease as a traffic guard directed them though the thick crowd
Yelena rolled up her window, hoping the tint would block the flashes of cameras from catching her, but Chris was all smiles for his fans waving and straining to reach for ready pins to get last minute signatures on whatever he was handed when they came to a few short stops
"Thank you so much Chris, you're the greatest of all time." A fan told him "Hope you're not going to be gone too long." a bearded guy said when it was his turn to approach the vehicle for an autograph
"I never am. I'll be back before you know it.", but for right now, we're headed home to relax before the tour starts." he said, handing back the sharpie with the "Sins and Bones" album they guy wanted him to sign, sending a wink towards the woman on the passenger side
She rolled her eyes playfully at him
"Congratulations on the baby, good luck to ya man."
"Luck is for Losers." Yelena told him
It was his turn to roll his eyes
He bid his fans good night and farewell before they turned the corner away from the arena and out of traffic, heading towards L.A.X. He was surprised when her hand slipped into his while they were on the interstate
"Thank you for having me on this trip. It was amazing. I'm glad I came."
"Wasn't as bad as you thought, right?" he asked, stroking her hand lightly "Now all that's left is your folks, when are we telling them?" he asked, glancing at her
She was worrying her lip with her teeth
"You're not going to have much of a choice soon." he reminded
"Soon. I promise." she finally said
"Good." he said, relaxing further into his seat as he navigated the car one handed, a comfortable silence taking over
"What did you want to talk about?" she asked out of the blue
"Huh?"
"You said you wanted to talk when we got in the car, what about?"
He was quickly reminded about how angry he was before his attention was turned elsewhere. Now it didn't seem to be as big of a deal as he was making it "Nothing, forget I said anything."
"You sure?" she asked skeptically
"Yeah, it wasn't important."
It truly wasn't. He had survived his last week. The show was amazing. He was on his way to his own home and she was right here by his side. Everything was slowly but surely falling into place. He felt like he'd broken some kind of record for peace between them. Things had never been this good.
Shaking his head to clear the thought, he mentally knocked on wood. No need to jinx it
"Don't be mad, I need to pee." Yelena informed, pulling him out of his own head
He fought the urge to roll his eyes. Traffic was already building the closer they got to the airport and they'd be risking missing their flight if they stopped now "We're almost there, you don't think you could hold it for a few more-"
She narrowed her green eyes at him, shutting him up "Oh, I'm sorry, I don't recall asking the two little bodies inside of me to practice taking bumps on my bladder. I didn't ask for them to invade my body at all really."
Chris let out a snort "It's hardly fair to say you didn't ask for me to impregnate you." he said smugly
"I'm sorry, what was that?" she asked, a smirk pulling at her lips
"I wouldn't call myself the smartest man in the world, but I can count pretty well. I don't recall begging you to spend the night with me."
"Yeah, that one night. I can count on both hands how many times you have begged me though." she fired back "Just your luck, I was drunk and not in the right state of mind."
He chuckled. He really could bicker with her all day and night for the rest of his life "Just the way I like you." he teased, reminiscing
She punched him in the should and he feigned hurt "Damn you for not wearing a condom. So irresponsible." she chastised
He pulled a face at her "Damn you for mixing antibiotics with birth control. So irresponsible." he mimicked "You should be ashamed of yourself."
"You are such an-" she couldn't get through the sentence, her laughter bubbling over. The smile on her face was contagious "Pull the damn car over before I pee myself asshole."
"Alright, alright." he said, spying an exit coming up
They pulled into a seven eleven gas station.
"Hey." he said, just before she started out of the car "I wouldn't take that night back for anyone. You know that right?" He asked
She leaned over, capturing his lips "I'm starting to get the picture."
He nuzzled her nose with hers before she hastily got out of her car
"I have to pee!" she squealed, all but running inside
He chuckled and got out to fuel up
