To Hogwarts
The next day they all got up early to eat breakfast and head to Kings Cross Station. Once they arrived, they looked around and saw platform 9 and 10 but no platform 9 3/4
"So how do we get on to the platform?" Percy asked. "Do we run into a wall or something?" As if on cue, they looked between the two platforms and saw a boy with a trunk run into the wall between the platforms.
"I guess we have our answer." Will said. "Who wants to go first?"
"Ooh me, I want to!" Leo exclaimed as he ran towards the wall and disappeared. Hazel went next, Then Jason and Piper went together, followed by Percy and Annabeth, leaving just Nico and Will.
Will grabbed Nico's hand and asked, "Can you go with me."
"Of course." Nico replied, blushing from the warmth of Will's hand. They both grabbed their suitcases and shot towards the wall and found themselves in front of a massive train called the Hogwarts Express.
"Wow," Will and Nico looked around in awe. They looked around for the others and found them waving at them. They caught up to them and entered the train looking for a cabin that wasn't full. Finally, they found one and sat down.
"So, who's excited?" Percy asked, trying to break the silence. After a bit a boy with dark hair, green eyes and glasses came in.
"Hello, can I sit here? My friends are in the prefect's cabin and everywhere else is cramped.
"Of course!" Piper said. What is your name?"
"Harry," he said. "Harry Potter"
"Nice to meet you, I'm Piper McLean, that's Jason Grace, Leo Valdez, Hazel Levesque, Annabeth Chase, Percy Jackson, Nico di Angelo, and Will Solace. We're exchange students from the U.S."
"Pleased to meet you as well, but I didn't know there was a school of magic in America, what's it called?"
"Everyone froze. "It's um, called…Chiron's School of Witchcraft and Wizardry." Will made up quickly." Nico raised an eyebrow at Will who just shrugged.
They all felt relieved when Harry seemed to believe them. "So what year are you guys starting in?" He asked.
"Our fifth year." Leo said. Which caused Harry to look confused. "You look like a 3rd year."
"Not you too." Leo groaned and started to protest about his size.
"What's that?" Percy blurted out pointing at Harry's forehead.
"Oh, nothing." Harry said, turning red. "Just a scar."
"It's shaped like a lightning bolt." Percy said. "That's so cool!"
"Trust me it's not." Harry mumbled.
They talked for quite a while before Harry told them they should all get changed into robes since they would arrive soon.
Soon enough they had arrived and got off the train and went to these carts that were being pulled by skeletons like horses.
"What are those?" Harry said. "I thought the carts were being pulled by themselves?"
"Those are Thestrals." A voice said from the cart. "They can only be seen by those who have seen death."
"Can you guys see them?" Harry asked.
"Yes." The demigods said.
"Oh," Harry replied. "Come on, get on."
As soon as they got to the castle, the eight demigods stared in awe at how majestic it was.
As they were about to enter, they were stopped by an older woman with a tight black bun. "I am Professor McGonagall, you eight come here, follow me. We need to get you sorted into your houses."
The eight followed her with a bunch of other younger students until she stopped in front of two massive double doors and started explaining what the houses were. For all Nico could remember she said something about Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. As she finished explaining she led them into the Great Hall and Nico understood why it was called that. In front of them there was a really, really worn-out hat sitting on top of a stool. And as soon as they walked in it burst out singing.
After the song was over, Professor McGonagall pulled out a scroll and started speaking, "Once I call your name, sit on the stool and put the hat on your head to get sorted into your houses." She said, "Chase, Annabeth!" Annabeth stepped forward and put on the hat.
After a minute or so the hat yelled out:
GRYFFINDOR!
The Gryffindor table clapped as Annabeth joined them at the table.
"Di Angelo, Nico,"
Nico stepped forward and placed the hat on.
Oh, my a difficult one indeed, you've got the intelligence but not enough for the modern world. Lots of ambitions perfect for Slytherin, Alas, maybe Hufflepuff for your loyalty and hard work. But I do see many brave efforts and none for self-gain so I will put you in…
GRYFFINDOR!
Nico took the hat off and sat down across from Annabeth. Soon enough, all the demigods got sorted into Gryffindor and some other other young wizards too.
"Oh, hello you guys, these are my friends Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley." Harry said. They're exchange students from America.
Soon food magically appeared on the table and the eight of them looked in awe of how much there was. But before they could take some, a very, very old man stood up, he had a long white beard, half-moon spectacles, and a crooked nose.
"Welcome to Hogwarts, first years and welcome back to the rest. I hope you all are enjoying yourselves tonight at the feast and this year we have eight exchange students from America, and I do expect you to make them feel welcome. This year we have a new defense against the dark arts teacher, Professor Dolores Umbridge, please treat her with respect and–"
"Ahem," A toad-like woman wearing all pink stood up interrupting Professor Dumbledore. "Nice to meet you all. I am your new defense against the dark arts teacher appointed by the ministry. I hope we can all be friends and have a lot of fun together, but I will say all magic in my class will be prohibited." And with that she gave a twisted smile and sat down. "Is that all Dolores?" Dumbledore asked. Yes" Umbrige replied. "Anyway let the feast begin!"
Nico began to dig in. Everything tasted amazing. He looked over to Will who was beside him eating just as happily.
"I don't like this Professor Umbridge," Percy said.
"Me neither," Harry replied. "I saw her this summer and she was an awful person. Tried to get me expelled!"
"She's from the ministry that is already bad." Hermione said.
"How?" Nico asked.
After an..incident last year, the minister of magic, Cornelius Fudge thinks Dumbledore is trying to take his position." She started. "That's probably why she doesn't want us to do magic so we don't help Dumbledore."
"Oh, ok." Percy said between mouthfuls. As soon as they were done with dinner, everything vanished and desert appeared. Nico couldn't have been happier. He settled on a little bit of everything while Percy took everything that was blue.
After dinner they followed the rest of the Gryffindors to a painting with a lady on it.
"Password please." She asked.
"Mimbulus mimbletonia," A boy in front of him said. The painting swung to the side, opening a hole in the wall. When they stepped in the place felt warm and cozy. The armchairs were so soft he could fall asleep on them. Nico was so tired he decided to go to bed.
"I'm gonna go to sleep, G'night." Nico said walking up the staircase.
"Wait for me," The rest of the boys said following him while the girls took a different staircase.
