Classes

As they walked to their first class Nico couldn't help but wonder how someone could navigate this castle. Especially when there were moving staircases.

"How do you guys navigate this place?" Will said as if thinking the same thing.

"It's quite easy once you get used to it." Hermione said. "Although Harry and Ron still get lost sometimes. I learned how to navigate after reading Hogwarts A History. But they refuse to read it."

"Why should we if we have you?" Ron asked.

"Hermione, do you have a copy of it.? Can I borrow it?" Annabeth asked. Hermione's eyes widened as if someone just asked her the best question ever. "Of course I'll happily give it to you." She said cheerily.

"Ugh why potions." Harry said once they got there. "That's Professor Snape, he's like the worst teacher here. "I recommend not talking to him and keeping to yourself. He doesn't like Gryffindors much."

"Will do." Leo said, stepping into the classroom. They all took a seat and opened their books.

Hmm. You guys are the new exchange students I presume." A tall man with dark greasy hair said looking at them. "You, over here." He said pointing to Will, "What would I get if I added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?" (A/N Sorry I had to use that one) Will turned red. "I-I don't know sir."

"Of course you don't." Snape said.

As potions went one Nico watched as Snape bullied the Gryffindors and praised the Slytherins. He seemed to favorite them. Then when Nico and Will's potion exploded in Nico's face causing his hair to stick up, Snape walked over to and raised his eyebrows. "Did they even teach you anything in that American school?" He spoke.

"Um, yes sir." Nico replied back. He didn't like being the one looked down on as people usually feared him. Behind him, Percy and Jason were sniggering at Nico's hair as he flattened it down quickly. "Shut up both of you." Nico scowled.

Finally, after what seemed like forever potions ended and they went to a class called defense against the dark arts. They arrived and took a seat.

As they did, a short toad-like person stepped forward. "Hello students, I'm Professor Umbridge, Your new teacher." She said, "Everyone take out your textbooks, we will not be doing any magic in here."

"Then what is the point of this class? How are we supposed to defend ourselves and prepare for our O.W.L.s? Hermione asked.

"These books will prepare you fine, they are the ministry-appointed way of learning. Miss Granger." Professor Umbridge replied back.

"What about defending ourselves?" Harry asked.

"Don't be silly, what is there to defend yourselves against?"

"I don't know, Lord Voldemort?" Harry said, causing some others to gasp. What was the deal about that lord?

"He's not back!" She scowled.

"Why did you apply for this position if there is 'nothing' to defend ourselves against?" Percy said, causing some others to laugh. Umbridge just scowled and didn't answer.

"Anyway, starting with our lesson–" She started. Nico fell asleep for the rest of class as it bored him too much.

When defense against the dark arts was over, they went to their next class which was called care of magical creatures.

"This class's teacher is amazing." Harry said, telling them in between rants about Umbridge.

The class was by a small hut at the edge of a thick forest where in front of them stood a huge man with a very shaggy beard.

"Hello there folks!" He said to the eight demigods. "Me' name's Hagrid."

"Nice to meet you Professor," Hazel said. Harry went up and hugged him. "Slytherins should be joining us soon." Hagrid said. As if on cue they arrived being led by Malfoy.

"I hate this class." Malfoy said.

Hagrid led them into the woods and stopped into the clearing

"Alright today we'll be learnin' 'bout thestrals."

"Where are they?" Someone asked.

"They're all here. But you can only see them if you've seen death." Hagrid responded.

The eight demigods looked around to see horse-like beings with wings. They almost looked kind of like skeletons to Nico.

"Raise yer' hands you can see 'em." Hagrid said. The eight raised their hands followed by Harry and a few others.

Hagrid looked surprised. "I didn't expect that many. I only thought there might be like two of y'all or somethin'."

"So, you've seen death huh di Angelo?" Malfoy sneered. "Tell me, who've you seen die?". Nico ignored him and rolled his eyes. "Malfoy, if you don't shut up I will punch you again." This time Malfoy stopped talking. But then he started talking again. "What's a small boy like you going to do huh? I will beat you in that duel today."

"Okay," Nico said seemed to get really aggravated at this point but they all decided to ignore him.

Hagrid continued the lesson and Nico seemed to find it pretty fascinating and even got to feed the thestrals. Then when class was over they continued to the rest of their classes.

Nico sucked at herbology. The plants kept on dying in his hands and he couldn't keep them alive. Charms class was also hard but not as bad. Jason almost electrocuted his partner Percy whose hair was sticking up while Hermione was rambling to Ron about how he was doing the spell wrong. Hazel was doing really well in class as she already could do magic, and Annabeth was listening to the professor's every word. Nico was able to do the spell once but never again. And Leo, he accidentally set himself on fire but extinguished it before anyone could see.

Finally, they finished their last class, divination which was extremely boring. Finally, they had the afternoon to themselves.
