Welcome to the next chapter of DxD – The Last Amagiri, but before starting the story. Let's answer some reviews:
Rider126: What people are sensing from him will be revealed, but it is related to his father.
Wako12: I understand, I do love Rossweisse as a character, I'm honestly still considering it. and writing moments with her is good to read and write. But, at the same time, I want to do different things in DxD – The Last Amagiri. That was the main reason that I added female original characters and others who hadn't been used before.
Altair95: Thanks. Both the Kibou Team and Valkyrie Squad did work together near the end of everything, with Zane showing off more of his strategic skills. Yep, there's is definitely something about Kensei that even Niðhöggr feels instinctive fear of. Hinata is by all means an older version of Hisui, healing both of his arms after being contaminated by his miasma and has no trouble disciplining her husband. That one, in particular, will be revealed along with the incident that happened. Thanks and I hope that you, as well as everyone else, remain healthy.
The Coming Times
On a battlefield, which has portions of its land covered in ice, and raining down as hard, some people from the Amagiri Clan and Youkai were dressed for battle leaned on the ground. Among them, a black-haired seventeen-year-old young man was kneeling on the ground, the upper portion of his clothing was torn apart, leaving his black pants and boots intact. His hair was longer than most reaching his back, even the tie that he used has been broken apart leaving it flowing outward as several breaths escaped from his mouth.
He also has several wounds on his body, which caused his blood to leak out from them, but neither of them was to the point where he couldn't continue fighting.
"Hah, hah, this one's tougher than I thought."
He breathed out, in his hands was a black single-edged sword that has a distorted shape and red lines all traced across the blade. Its aura alone gave off the kind of presence that caused most people that it wasn't the kind of weapon that a normal swordsmith could create.
"So what, you're going to bitch out?"
A familiar voice caught his attention as someone stepped beside him, which belonged to his longtime rival.
"Of course, not, who do you think I am?"
After letting a soft laugh escape from his mouth, the black-haired young man stood right back up to his feet using his black sword to support himself. Standing right beside him was a young woman the same age as himself, but she had light purple hair and eyes dressed for battle as well, however, the outfit was torn in some places. There were also some wounds, such as blood staining her head, her right arm, though was damaged.
The glasses that she would also wear had long since been broken in the last attack against their foe. But, thst didn't deter her.
"I honestly think you're a wuss, Tetsuo. I thought men were supposed to be tougher than women, but now you're crying over a couple of wounds."
"I don't want to hear that from the one who appears like she's prepared to keel over at any moment, Tetsuo gave a weak, but strong laugh. "Do you think that you should keep wielding your swords right now and fighting without your glasses, Sakura?"
Tetsuo asked, glancing at the severe wound on her right arm.
Despite that, she was still holding her favored katanas in her hands, which were two truly beautiful swords that have a pink-red blade and a pink-blue blade respectively.
"Hah, don't think that Sakurazaki and Yozakura will lose to that sacred gear of yours," Sakura said as she started circulating her ki inside her body as she noticed a presence preparing to come down on them, causing a vivid pink aura to radiate from her swords. "I'll need to replace my glasses, but without them, I can better get into the zone. Well, I really don't think that big guy over there gives a shit about my condition."
"Well, I guess you're right about that one."
Tetsuo smirked as he looked upward to see that an enormous black Asian dragon with dark blue eyes peering at both of them threateningly as it exuded a potent aura. However, several wounds were on its body from a long-term battle, as well as swords stabbed into it.
"He looks like he's on his last leg too. But, he's still going through as you'd expect from a legendary evil dragon on par with Yamata-no-Orochi."
"Can you launch one more attack?"
"Hah, don't underestimate the women from the Amagiri Clan. I didn't do all that training for three days for nothing," Sakura declared as she stood in a stance holding both Sakurazaki and Yozakura in her hands as a potent pinkish aura covered them. "Sakuya Amagiri-ryuu…."
From around her, numerous sakura pedals started scattering around her without limit, despite the wounds, which should have deterred her. Among the Amagiri Clan, there were some who created their own variation of the Amagiri-ryuu and Sakura was one if them.
"Of course. I almost died training with a true monster. So, I can handle this one," Tetsuo said as he started raising the aura that has been contained inside of his sword, then stood in a stance meant for the final attack. "Balance Break!"
Tetsuo allowed the aura that covered his sword to cover his entire body, which started taking form as something entirely different.
""Let's go!""
Both Sakura and Tetsuo declared as both of them leaped toward the evil dragon, which charged forward towards them with reckless abandon. There was a flash of bright light and….
"Huh?"
Tetsuo found himself laying down on the well-made desk situated inside his office, realizing that he dreamed of a previous battlefield that he fought alongside Sakura.
"Ah, I haven't thought about that battle for a long time."
Tetsuo said as he yawned softly.
Placed around his desk, there were several papers correctly stacked around him, which were related to different partners and accords. Most were from other clans similar to the Uesugi Clan, others were unrelated to them and instead more related to the supernatural. Although he finished them last night, for some reason, he wasn't in the mood to head off to bed, however, that wouldn't be the first time.
"Uh, I still haven't received any news about who could have taken her body," Tetsuo said feeling irritated for one of the first times since reaching adulthood after recalling that Sakura's body, which has been inside Hagun Island was sold off. "Leaving aside the danger from her body falling into the wrong hands, just the idea of someone messing with her grates me. Of course, I have no right to get mad about it."
Tetsuo realized that her death, in addition to the troubles that Kensei had gone through was also his fault. It was then that the reason from the man who talked to him, Kenichi Amagiri.
'Believe me, I have divined in several times until my spiritual power vanished. There's no other way to protect him from the person who targeted our clan, but whoever it is must've meticulously planned it. Kensei is the only child of his generation left. But, this isn't about protecting the future of the Amagiri Clan, this is more about saving the last child among our clan. Our mission as parents, grandparents, and other relatives is to die before children instead of the other way around. All of us agreed that even if all of us dies, at least, we'll save one child.'
"There's no use complaining about it now, Tetsuo," he said to himself as he sighed. "The past can't be changed, I can at least do something now. But, I can't get it out of my head. Sakura, as well as the other adults and children, has their bodies stolen after being killed. I have no idea what they're planning on using them for, but their reason could mean nothing but trouble."
Knock Knock
"Come in."
Having given that signal, the person who walked inside of the office was his wife, Natsumi who was holding a cup of coffee in her hands.
"I knew that you likely spent another late night working. So, I thought a special brew of coffee would be good for you this early morning."
"Ah, thank you."
Tetsuo said taking the coffee in his hands, then drank from it.
"You're overworking yourself, you know," Natsumi pointed out as she leaned against the desk. "I know that you feel responsible for what happened, but there was no other choice in the matter. And there was no other way that Sakura-chan would have stopped herself from going after him. That's just who she was, if there was something that she didn't like or agree to, she's charged in headfirst no questions asked. If you didn't have Kensei sent, there it might have resulted in his death or whatever they planned for him, which would have broken Sakura-chan."
"I know," Tetsuo sighed standing up from his desk holding the coffee cup in his hands. "The least that I can do is support and assist Kensei as much as possible, even though he has been basically independent for a long time. More so, with the endeavors that he and his friends are planning. Besides, if I keep focusing on the past, then I won't be able to do for Naoto and Nariko that I couldn't for Kensei."
After making that declaration, he placed the now empty coffee cup on the desk as Natsumi stared at him.
"Tetsuo," Natsumi started before poking him in the cheek. "You still have that habit of overthinking things."
"Yea, I know," Tetsuo replied realizing that fact before Natsumi held an envelope in his hand. "What's this?"
"An official letter sent by a servant from the Underworld."
"Hmm."
Tetsuo hummed as he opened the letter, then started reading the letter, which was written in proper Japanese.
"Ah, I see. Well, it appears as if we'll need to leave in a couple of hours for a meeting with an important figure."
"Who?"
"Lucifer himself."
Tetsuo said noticing the magic circle that has been drawn at the bottom of the letter in red.
Meanwhile, inside Kibou Town, jogging down the streets without a care in the world was Kensei dressed inside a black tracksuit and water bottle strapped to his waist. In his terms, it would be considered jogging, in the case of most people, he was moving faster than a normal person, almost sprinting. It was basic training which he did regularly to keep himself sharp.
Kensei was also wearing special training weights that Zane, which appeared like normal bracelets but weighed a lot more than normal ones.
"Ah, on a morning run, Kensei?"
An elderly woman said cheerfully.
"Yes. I gotta keep myself fit."
Kensei casually replied as he passed by a random elderly couple who had sent a gentle smile in his direction. Of course, several people have gotten used to him doing things like this since he made a habit of being similar feats of physical training from childhood.
"Ah, you might want to look at the television later. I'm sure you'll be surprised since you weren't here some time."
He heard an elderly man speak aloud, loud enough for him to hear.
"Huh, what's on the television. It has been a couple of days since we came back from the Norse," Kensei asked in a wondering tone. "Did something important happen when we were gone? Well, either way, what are we going to plan for this one? It can't be the same as last time, since it would be boring but…."
[K-Kensei, p-please s-stop, and c-come back….]
Kensei stopped, skidding against the ground, almost causing a screeching noise as he heard a voice in his head, which sounded exhausted.
"Ah, I almost forgot."
Kensei realizing that he was going too fast for a certain person, then turned back around and sprinted back in the opposite direction. After arriving there, he found Alice leaning against a stone wall as sweat poured down her forehead exhausted. Similar to him, she was wearing a tracksuit, but the sweat, caused the shirt to cling to her skin, revealing more of her still developing breasts.
"I'm sorry about that Alice."
He apologized laughing sheepishly as he noticed Alice glaring at him cutely as her breath started becoming more erratic by the moment.
"Sei una persona orribile! Ti odio per avermi sottoposto a questa tortura!"
(You're a terrible person! I hate you for putting me through this torture!)
Alice started shouting at him constantly in Italian after managing to drag herself in front of him.
Most of the people who walked past them thought that both of them were having a lover's spat, but, of course, neither of them knew Italian. However, Kensei did since he learned it from Alice and realized all the words aimed solely at him.
"I'm sorry, here."
Kensei unstrapped the water bottle that he had strapped to his side, then handed it to Alice who immediately took it off his hands. After opening it, she started downing the contents of the water bottle, which caused her to feel far better than before and even invigorated.
"Hah, that was so good. I don't even feel exhausted anymore."
Alice showed the most emotion that Kensei has seen from her thus far.
"That is a special drink that the Amagiri Clan can produce, which has been infused with spiritual power from me. I don't think that anyone from other clans can say that creating techniques and spells was all that we're good at," a sigh escaped from Alice's mouth as she handed it back to them, then blushed faintly after noticing that he took a drink after she did. "I was surprised to hear that you wanted to come for a morning jog with me."
"Well, stamina is my weakest trait among other things and I can barely use Annihilation Maker without getting too fatigued. So, since Hinata-san ended up treating me, I wanted to get in more physical training to further increase my stamina. Although, I could have done without the excess touching."
Alice started confident in her desire to get in more physical training but made a deadpan look after reliving all the 'excess touching' from Hinata. Hearing that caused Kensei to let out a nervous laugh after wondering what it meant since he wasn't allowed in the same room for that treatment. So, he had to remain inside the same room as Ichirou, Hisui's father.
"There's no question who Hisui got her personality from that's for sure," Kensei laughed wryly, then later placed a hand on top of her head. "You don't have to try and keep up with me. I've been training since I was old enough to walk compared to most people. I'll come up with a unique regimen that you can do that fits your specific condition so that you don't need to overwork yourself."
"Okay."
Alice smiled nodding her head, but then Kensei later heard his Oracle Phone going off and retrieved it to see that a message came from Claire.
"It's Claire, she sent me a message."
"What is it?"
"I don't know. Let me see," Kensei said opening up the message to find a link with a tagged message that said, [I think that you should watch this, Nii-san. I saw someone on TV and found a link to it]. "She sent me a link?"
"To what?"
Kensei, instead of answering Alice, he instead opened the link, which led him to a video, then moved the Oracle Phone close enough to where she can see. Having pressed the start button, what came up on the screen was an entire stage and the sound of the crowd cheering. On stage, there was a man who was holding a microphone up to his mouth before speaking into it.
[Everyone, here she comes, another performance from the idol who has started taking the entire media world by storm! Our beautiful flower of Japan, Sakura-hime!]
"Sakura-hime? Huh?"
"What?"
Alice was surprised about the surprise, but almost happy look on his face.
Heading onto the middle of the stage was a beautiful girl their age with a slender figure, the most distinctive features of her were her long hair and eyes seemed to be colored cherry blossom itself. Dressed in an outfit that appeared to be altered from a kimono into one fitting for a youthful idol, but with a more modest design. It didn't even take a second for Alice to recognize her since she has already seen a picture of that girl.
"Is that….?"
Before Alice could finish, she started singing a song to the crowd that resonated with everyone in the crowd with both Kensei and her feeling enamored by the singing. For the people who walked by, some knew who the voice belonged to. Once the entire performance was finished, the entire crowd went wild from the song, which was performed for them.
"Yep, this is exactly who you're thinking about."
[Our rising star, Minako Kushihashi, Sakura-hime.]
Kensei smiled after seeing her waving at the entire crowd after performing, then noticed Minako staring at the cameras where it was recording and winked. Seeing that the entire crowd, most he thought were males all thought she was winking at them, but Kensei knew that wasn't the case.
"You're childhood friend and first fiancée. That means that the dream she wanted to fulfill."
"To be an idol who would perform in front of entire crowds of people around the world. I never doubted that she'd be able to pull it off, but I guess that Minako received some resistance from the more traditional members from the Kushihashi Clan. But, if I had to guess her mother and cousin supported her throughout the entire thing."
"What about her father?"
"She told me she died before she was born. So, she doesn't know much about him aside from what she was told by her mother," Kensei replied as he stretched his arms. "Well, if I had to guess, then she'll probably be planning on coming back. In any case, I need to prepare myself."
"Why?"
Alice asked confused about the reason she'd need to prepare herself.
"She always likes making an entrance. And knowing her, she's likely already planning one that'll surprise me," he answered as he held out his hand. "Well, let's get back home. We need to get prepared for school."
"Right."
Following his advice, Kensei and Alice started returning home so that both of them could eat breakfast and get prepared for school.
In school, the students were all booming about the same thing, Minako, the Sakura-hime, the upcoming idol who had made her debut during the time Kensei and others were in the Norse Faction. Once their lunch period came, Kensei and the others among the "Seven Rebel" found themselves sitting down outside under a tree with all their lunches gathered in front of him, although, there was a new member among them.
"I don't get the reason that several people have been asking me out."
Lena, who was hiding her elf ears to appear normal sat beside Zane confused.
Since being enrolled into Kibou Academy, she became the center of attention as a foreigner described as having a mystifying presence, which attracted the attention of several students. She started acclimating well to the schedule and lessons, but Lena wasn't used to all the attention from different students male and female.
"I think that all of them just want to hang out with you."
Zane answered to her confusion.
"What do humans do for fun? Most of the people I've been around have been Valkyries, Heroes, and Gods," Lena added as she crossed her arms confused. "What about me looks like I'll be good company for humans?"
"Well, you're beautiful and mysterious. Most of the people around us are interested in us since we have just that kind of atmosphere that attracts normal people. It wouldn't hurt to learn more about normal activities that don't involve magic or the supernatural. If you want, I could come with you."
"Me too. I'd be a shame if you were simply focused on this project from the Norse."
Hisui and Rui replied.
"You're all as weird as the members of the Valkyrie Squad," Lena pointed out causing them to laugh a little bit. "It would be best if you focused more on building that base and forming this Kibou Alliance since those people could be attacking at any point. So, wouldn't it be best if you build it as fast as possible?"
"There's no need to rush it, I've prepared the overall structural design and ensured that the chosen land was the perfect area to build on top of. I already have enough to prepare since leaving Hagun Island and researching the techniques from the Amagiri Clan on special barriers. In addition to teaching the others who wanted to learn how to use magic and craft things," Zane explained as Lena stared at him. "Believe me, Lena, I have been preparing for any kind of situation that might occur."
"Wow."
Lena seemed surprised for the first time as her expression seemed to become more honest.
"You're that surprised. At this point, Zane doesn't surprise us when he comes up with stuff like this."
Layla pointed out.
"It's not that," Lena added. "I was surprised that someone so poor at organizing his schedules and house would be able to teach someone else. And that someone would want to learn from you."
Everyone around them was surprised about the sudden bluntness from Lena who tilted her head to the side and directed that solely toward Zane. There was complete silence from them as everyone seemed to turn their heads toward the sole target of that tongue lashing.
"D-Did you have to be that blunt?"
Zane was visibly stunned about the undeserved comments, but Lena looked unfazed about it.
None of them could understand the relationship between Zane and Lena, both of them worked well together, but there were moments where things like this happened. Seeing their interaction caused all of them to wonder about how things were going to progress.
"Well, Kensei, I was surprised to hear about your fiancée deciding to become an idol."
Maria brought up to redirect their conversation from Zane and Maria.
"So was I. Iris and I heard her singing for the first time, during the time that all of you went to the Norse World," a tune that sounds almost like admiration came from Layla. "I have to admit that she was one of the best singers I've heard so far."
"I'm sure that she'll be sucking up all the attention the moment that she comes here. That little promise we made meant that she'd come back to visit after she fulfilled her dream."
"Ah, so we'll be meeting both an idol and Ken Ken's first fiancée. I can tell that this will be an interesting meeting when it finally happens. I wonder if she'll share some embarrassing stories from ken Ken's childhood."
Hisui said as she started going over meeting Minako in her head, which caused Kensei to give a wryly smile and a laugh soon escaped from his mouth.
"I don't think that I'll be able to handle Minako and Hisui meeting with one another. And knowing Minako, she'll do that without hesitation," Kensei thought as he could only imagine a meeting between Minako and Hisui. "Well, let us move onto the true purpose of this meeting."
At those words, all of them started becoming more serious about those words, which caused Lena to blink several times after seeing the serious looks on their face.
"From here on out, we'll be planning," Kensei started before smirking. "Claire's birthday, which is in six days."
Lena was surprised and visibly shocked about that being the reason that all of them had gotten serious about it.
"A birthday party?"
"Ah, right, you wouldn't know about that much," Maria said as she started explaining. "On Hagun Island, none of us were able to celebrate our birthdays in the normal sense. Not that anyone would be in the mood for doing that. Since leaving there, we started doing this thing where we celebrate our birthdays together as one big group."
"I have to admit that it's always fun celebrating your birthday together."
Layla added after Maria.
"This time, we're going to be planning Claire's birthday," Alice said as she seemed more excited than usual about planning a birthday party for Claire. "But, knowing her, she's already guessed that we'll be planning something for her birthday. So, we'll all need to be more discreet about it."
"I already have the perfect idea where we'll be holding the party."
Zane said wearing a slight smirk on his face but didn't reveal anything.
"Yea, it's going to be the best birthday that we've ever planning thus far. This is the week going to be something that she won't forget in a long time."
At Kensei's declaration, all of them agreed to ensure Claire was going to enjoy her birthday to the fullest this year and started planning on what they were going to do.
Elsewhere, in another location in Kyoto, at a fancy restaurant, Tetsuo and Natsumi were dressed in formal attire for their meeting with the current Lucifer. This establishment was actually something that had been build by the household whose name he was originally born with before being made Lucifer, meaning that it wasn't difficult for him to make reservations at the last moment.
"Well, I'm surprised, I didn't think that Sirzechs-sama was the kind of person who enjoys places like this."
Natsumi noted as she looked around at the extensive detail put into the restaurant, which was rather popular with the people of high society since it also provided excellent classical music.
"I guess that it means that whatever he wants to talk about it is secret. I think that he had even reserved a private booth for our conversation."
Tetsuo noted as the female attendant, a woman he realized was a devil servant who worked in this restaurant led them over toward the private booth where Sirzechs was waiting for them. He and Natsumi could also feel that the both of them had passed through a barrier seconds prior.
"A barrier has been installed here, too. I guess I wouldn't expect anything else for a restaurant built by devils."
It didn't take them a minute to arrive in front of the private booth where their meeting would be held.
Standing up was a Japanese man in his late twenties and dressed in what Tetsuo recognized as the Shinsengumi uniform. As a man hailing from a samurai clan, there was no way that he could mistake this man and uniform for anyone else. Despite his laid-back, Tetsuo could sense the experience and presence that this man acclimated in his life. He was Sirzechs' sole Knight, Souji Okita, the legendary samurai who led the Shinsengumi before being reincarnated into a Knight using two pieces.
There was no other man that Tetsuo could consider as being the guard of someone bearing the name of Lucifer, a samurai who was still talked about in legends today.
Sitting down in the booth was a young man in his earlier twenties who looked younger than him dressed in formal attire, but Tetsuo knew devils can look younger than their actual age. The man in question has crimson red hair that reaches his shoulders and blue-green eyes.
This man sitting there wearing a pleasant air despite his dangerous titles was Sirzechs Lucifer.
Tetsuo has already heard tales about this man's power and status, which made it almost a wonder who could be a guard for him. Among all the opponents that Tetsuo has ever fought, there was one alone, the person who had given him the scar on his forehead who would even provide him a challenge.
Sitting beside him professionally was a beautiful silver-haired young woman who appeared to be in her twenties and red eyes dressed in a maid outfit.
His Queen and wife (although, on duty as a maid, she won't admit to it), Grayfia Lucifuge, the Strongest Queen.
"Hello, Tetsuo-kun."
Sirzechs called out as Tetsuo and Natsumi approached the table to take a seat.
"Hello, Sirzechs-sama, Grayfia-san, and Okita-san."
Tetsuo bowed his head before allowing Natsumi to sit down in front of Grayfia.
"Ah, you don't have to be so formal. How long have we known one another?"
It was true since Tetsuo has known Sirzechs at one point after becoming the Uesugi Clan head himself, which he was surprised to find that he was this likable. It all started from a simple request to be informed about the political relations in the Underworld and became more acquainted other clans, but he quickly befriended Sirzechs.
"Right, Sirzechs."
Tetsuo smiled as he sat at the table.
"Good evening, Grayfia-san."
"The same, Natsumi-san."
After both wives greeted one another, a laugh soon escaped from her mouth as she asked a question.
"So, has Sirzechs-kun done anything that incurred his Queen's wife?"
Natsumi questioned lightheartedly.
"Sirzechs-sama has made things difficult acting as his Queen with his particular nonchalant nature and his habit of leaving important business for later has made things more complicated for me."
Grayfia replied to Natsumi who seemed to laugh, which caused even Souji who had been standing on the side to let a light laugh escape from his mouth. In response to hearing Natsumi and Souji laughing, in addition to Grayfia being exasperated about his less than acceptable work ethic.
"Come on."
Sirzechs couldn't help letting a wryly laugh escape from his mouth.
"So, what was the reason that you asked for this meeting, Sirzechs?"
"Well," Sirzechs said pausing before continuing. "I was wondering if it would be possible for me to meet your son and the girl that he's been living with."
Both Tetsuo and Natsumi were surprised about that sudden request, but it seemed that Sirzechs was being more serious about this request.
"The girl? He couldn't be talking about Alice, the only one who makes sense is," Tetsuo thought before speaking out loud. "Are you referring to the half-devil girl named Claire?"
"Yes, her," Sirzechs nodded his head. "I realize that this is an odd request, but there is something that I've been meaning to tell her since I received word about what happened on that island from Amaterasu-sama after things were settled. But, it appears as if the situation hadn't called for it at the time."
Sometime after the Hagun Island Rebellion, Amaterasu who received information regarding those involved in that situation had informed Sirzechs about it. Having heard her name, "Claire Yaegaki Belial" which was listed as one of the competitors among the Gehenna Tournament, Sirzechs' mind went to a specific incident related to the town, which his sister now resided in.
"Well, I guess that the time doesn't call for it this time either. I heard that Kensei and the others are all planning to celebrate her fourteenth birthday. But, it would be possible to meet them on Sunday after it."
"I see."
"Why the sudden interest? Has something happened to the point where you need to meet her now?"
Tetsuo questioned, realizing that Sirzechs sounded a little more serious about the situation regarding Claire.
"I don't know. All I have is suspicions since this wouldn't be the first time those Old Devils did something behind like this behind the backs of the Maou. But, their influence and political powers make them hard to deal with for even us. Those Old Devils appears to have no other interest in maintaining old beliefs and aristocratic lifestyle," Sirzechs said before thinking about one person, in particular. "The First Bael Head, Zekram Bael would be at the head of it and his influence tends to be greater than mine. And due to his desire to maintain old traditions, it'll be impossible for him to accept a girl who's the daughter of a pure-blood devil and exorcist."
Sirzechs spoke in an honest tone with even Tetsuo realizing the kind of person Zekram Bael as one of the oldest devils and first Bael Head.
"I swear politics always makes things more complicated than they should be."
Tetsuo couldn't help sighing as he realized the issues involving them, which Sirzechs could agree with as a slight nod of his head.
"That's what makes our job as Maou more difficult than it should be, but that's the only option we have. Taking any other kind of actions might result in another Civil War," Sirzechs said before giving a light laugh after making that comment. "I have to ask what your oldest son like. Unlike Naoto-kun or Nariko-chan you don't really talk about him much."
"Because after everything I did. I don't deserve to gloat about him to another parent," Tetsuo started before he started talking further. "Although, if I had to say anything about Kensei, then there's a high chance that the two of you would get along with one another."
"Oh, how so."
"You both dote on your younger siblings," Natsumi laughed lightly after that was brought up with both Grayfia and Souji even reacting to that comment. "Kensei is always quick to want to play with Nariko whenever he has the time or training Naoto no matter what happens. He even sometimes trains him and his rival, Akari in the Amagiri-ryuu so the two of them could develop their own styles. I could honestly think of different things that the two of you have in common more so than I. He's someone who treasures his friends and family above everything else. He truly inherited the principals of the Amagiri and Uesugi Clans."
Despite not feeling he had the right to talk about Kensei after everything that happened, Sirzechs could tell that it was something that made Tetsuo happy.
"That's the reason the next words that I'm going to say should be considered carefully."
Sirzechs remained silent about those words as Tetsuo continued.
"He and his friends will have no issue if it's the current Maou but will be unable to act the same around people like the Old Devils for several reasons. Kensei, in particular, since his moral principles won't allow him to act civil with people who domineer over others due to their status," after saying those words, Tetsuo looked down to the table. "He's matured from the time when he was a child on Hagun Island after learning from the Buddhas, Sun Wukong and Xuanzang Sanzang. Even then, Kensei won't be able to remain calm if someone he cares about is harmed. At age seven, he killed a demon that should have been too strong for him at the time after seeing that it scarred Naoto's face."
Tetsuo could still remember the time that he ran over to the park after sensing a demon here. After arriving there, he found Kensei hugging a crying three-year-old Naoto into his chest. But, the sight that surprised him most was the dead demon punctured and suspended in the air by an earth spear that sprouted from the ground and burned from could have come from fire or lightning, likely both. He then noticed at that moment his eyes seemed to glow a bright blue light.
"Those among the Amagiri Clan like the Five Principal Clans are born special power users. The difference is that their members have more potent souls due to their extensive spiritual training, which their ancestors started in his era and they continued on from parent to child. But, Kensei was born as an irregular even among those special power users."
"An irregular, huh," Sirzechs found himself uttering out those words since being called irregular that something he was familiar with himself. "Well, that wouldn't that be due to him being the parents of two strong parents, you and Sakura were known as heroes from famous clans in Kyoto, correct."
"It irritates Sakura to be called a hero even if she did something worth it that's the reason no one calls her that around her," Tetsuo noted as Natsumi laughed since it did sound like something that Sakura would be annoyed about. "And I, don't have the right to be called a hero. Most of what I did was because I wanted to become stronger for several personal reasons, which became the trigger for it."
Sirzechs took those words seriously and made him more curious about meeting Kensei in person.
"Well, that aside, it might be too optimistic, but it might be best if Kensei never encounters people like Zekram. His temper was a factor in him being known as the Dragon Child, hurting someone he cares about is tantamount to stealing an important treasure from a Dragon."
"Ah, I see. I'll keep that in mind," Sirzechs said before switching into his usual calm demeanor. "Well, since we're all here in this restaurant how about we order something like drinks and good, then talk about things outside of our usual business."
"I'll have to pass on anything alcoholic."
"Ah, I wonder why."
Sirzechs said in a low tone as he could sense Grayfia sending serious narrowed eyes in his direction, which had caused Souji had been standing beside them dutifully to chuckle. Both of them realized that their serious Queen can become a troublemaker after getting drunk. Seeing this from them caused Tetsuo to relax a little more and a laugh escaped from Natsumi who enjoyed the entire scene.
Meanwhile, in the Underworld, located in the territory belonging to the clan who held the rank of Great King, Bael, there was a secluded land belonging to a single individual. This land had a mansion suitable for someone of an incredibly high position of power and status. Sitting inside a room that appeared to be an office, there was a man in the middle-age range with black hair and violet eyes dressed in attire fitting for a nobleman.
This man was the first-generation Bael Head, Zekram Bael.
In front of him, there was a report that he had received some time ago about a certain individual who had caught his attention. Zekram started tapping his finger on the desk after reading the report as his eyes narrowed from a sense of slight irritation.
"It appears as if there truly was an "unwanted" remnant of the remnant of their relationship, even though all the loose ends had already been taken care of. It looks as if those two left behind something else that I need to clean up before her existence spreads out further and reaches Diehauser of all people," Zekram said as he had activated a magic circle meant for communication. "Now, how are we going to handle this situation this time? The daughter of a high-class devil and exorcist shouldn't be allowed."
A/N: And there goes the next chapter of DxD – The Last Amagiri, well, this is the start of the last volume before reaching the canon timeline. Alright, several things happened in this chapter from Tetsuo flashing back to battle he had fought alongside Sakura before receiving a letter from Sirzechs. In Kibou Town, the owner himself, Kensei was jogging with Alice who wasn't having the best time before receiving word that his childhood friend/fiancée had succeeded in her dreams of becoming an idol.
Later on, the Seven Rebels returned to attending regular school again joined with Lena who also became a student, as well. But, it seems as if they're planning to celebrate Claire's birthday in six days.
During the meeting between Tetsuo and Natsumi with Sirzechs, Grayfia, and Souji acting as their guard. It looks as if he wants to have a meeting with Kensei and Claire, wanting to talk to the former the most of the two. Tetsuo gives some warning about what may happen if the Old Devils or Zekram meets Kensei, in addition to some more details revealed.
At the end of the chapter, we see the ringleader himself behind the shadows who looks to be already planning something.
