A Day Before Disaster
Students from both classes were sleeping peacefully inside their assigned cabins, but someone decided that they had enough peace for now as Vlad King walked in front of the cabins with a trumpet in his hand. The man put the trumpet to his mouth and began to play it.
The loud voice caused multiple people to jump from their sleeping places into fighting positions or in some cases activate their quirks accidentally. Those who have been used to waking at such an hour groaned because they hoped they could achieve an extra hour of sleep.
Vlad yelled at the top of his lungs, "Rise and shine maggots. It's time for hell on earth to begin."
The man could hear multiple groans coming from the cabin, but he yelled, "Get up, you lazy children." The groans grew in volume till he added, "Or I swear to heavens I'll have Pixiebob wake you up."
The man could hear shuffling inside the dorms making him smile at the well-done job. Today was going to be grueling and exhausting, but he was sure that his children and Aizawa's children would pull through it. This summer was going to be great all things considered.
The man walked away as the teens inside the dorms began to change their clothes. Tetsu and Kirishima groaned, "Man, we wanted to sleep in a little more. Couldn't they wake us a little bit later?"
Kamakiri yelled, "Quiet and start dressing, or else we'll feel the wrath of Torino befell on us should we be late." Tetsu scrambled to get his clothes while Kirishima stood there confused.
The red-haired boy asked Kamakiri, "Why are you so afraid of Gran Torino? I mean I get that he's All Might's old teacher, but I don't know… shouldn't he be ancient by now? I don't think he…"
He was silenced when Manga put a hand on his mouth, "Never underestimate him. We made this mistake," the bubble-headed boy shivered, "and paid the price dearly. He is a menace."
Kirishima could only nod in shock at how class 1-B was afraid of All Might's old teacher, but he supposed they had their reasons, he was going to meet him today, so he'd see what the hype about this man was all about. Kirishima didn't know that in a few minutes, he was going to regret those words and wish he never underestimated Gran Torino.
Izuku looked around him, "Is everyone set and ready to go to the training area?" he received multiple negatives from his classmates so he sighed, "Alright, I'll beat you there then." Having years of changing his clothes quickly to avoid a beatdown was showing its fruits right now.
Izuku walked outside and wondered to himself, 'I've been excited about this camp from the day it was mentioned. I can't wait to see what they're going to teach us.' The boy bumped into someone.
He looked and saw Kota who glared at him before scoffing and walking away.
Izuku sighed, "I hope I can break through him and help him."
A few minutes later, everyone from both classes was standing in front of their teachers though they were still sleepy. Kinoko was about to fall over if it weren't for Kendo catching her at the last moment. Manga had a sleepy emoji in his bubble while Ibara was yawning softly as they watched the sun rise on the horizon. To say that the students were annoyed would be an understatement.
Aizawa looked at the sleepy students and said with a small grin, "I hope you liked the wake-up call we gave. It took me a while to find a trumpet just like the ones they use in the military…"
Vlad chuckled as he stood near Aizawa, "Man, this reminds when I joined the military for a while." His students were having less than pleasant thoughts toward him right now.
Aizawa coughed into his fist, "Alright, now since you're all up and awake…" the man then noticed his sleepy apprentice so he threw his scarf at him and choked him until the boy woke up, "Then we'll begin our program for this entire week, but before we do that… I want to set a little example for what we're going to do." He looked around and frowned since no one from his class would serve the point he was aiming at. He looked at class 1-B and said, "Midoriya, come here. Front and center."
The boy, whom Tokage was currently drooling on after she fell asleep on his shoulder, nudged the girl slightly to wake her up. The girl whined, but let the boy go so he could go to Aizawa.
The green-haired boy walked up to Aizawa and asked him, "How can I help, Aizawa-sensei?"
The man stared at Izuku for a bit, "You're too polite and nice in the morning. Stop that." Izuku sweat-dropped at the man's comment while his friends chuckled a little, but Aizawa then became serious, "How far did you throw the ball during the quirk apprehension test on the first day of school?"
Izuku hummed a little, "Oh, yeah… I remember that I scored about 705.3." he was then handed a ball similar to the one he threw on the first day of school, "Oh, so you want to see how much progress I made on the first day compared to now? I can do that."
Tetsu saw this and smirked, "Man, Midoriya is about to do that ball thing once again. I bet he's going to score something very big." Kendo nodded in agreement as she shook both Tokage and Kinoko awake.
Izuku charged OFA up to 25% percent and threw the ball as strong as he could. The ball flew through the sky until it stopped making Aizawa's device beep. Once the man looked down, he frowned, "God damn it. He scored 1295.4 meters. This isn't what I was looking for, but good job kid."
Izuku sweat-dropped once more as he asked, "What were you looking for exactly?"
Vlad replied, "He was looking for someone to make an example out of him, and I have just the person in mind." Vlad looked at Setsuna and yelled, "Tokage, come here."
The girl nodded absentmindedly and walked up to her teachers who gave her another ball to throw, "Tokage, do you remember how much you scored during the quirk apprehension test?"
The girl nodded, "Yeah, I think it was about 350 meters."
The man hummed in approval, "Well, I want you to throw the ball in your hand like you did on the first day and see how much you can score this time." the man raffled her hair making Setsuna pout.
"Hey, this takes me forever to make, you know." the girl complained fixing her hair. She looked at the ball and back at Izuku, "Izuchan, you increased your score by at least 80%. Well, be prepared to be outdone by me." Setsuna then launched her hand into the distance. Moments later, the hand returned and Setsuna asked, "So how much did I score, Vlad-sensei?"
The hero hummed a bit as Aizawa turned the device for both classes to see making Setsuna yell, "Bullshit! How could this be even possible? I've been working my ass off during those last few months." The girl had scored about 360 meters.
Aizawa explained what happened, "Well, yes, it's true that you've been working hard with your friends for the last few months in the hero course, but the fact remains that everything you did was hero related and how to use your quirks in different types of situations…"
Vlad carried on, "…but you didn't train your quirks to increase their strength so to speak except for the sports festival. Last semester's lessons were focused on making you understand how to use your quirks properly in any given situation or place, but today, you'll be doing your best to increase the limits of your quirks." The students hummed a little in acceptance.
Ibara then asked, "And sir, how are going to achieve that? There are too many of us and we all have different and unique quirks. This isn't an easy feat to pull off effortlessly."
"Well, each and every one of you kids will placed in different conditions to train your quirks." Vlad explained, "Quirks are like muscles. When you train your muscles hard, they break but grow stronger, so basically you'll all be going to break your bodies." The students gulped.
Aizawa then said, "Plus, don't forget we have special guests today who are going to help!" he made a creepy grin and everyone swore they heard a bursting noise.
Izuku's eyes widened, "He's here. Duck for cover." The students of class 1-B shivered and threw themselves to the ground while Ibara erected a dome of vines around them with a single white flag at the top.
Shinso asked, "What the hell are these joke…" he didn't get to finish his sentence when something crashed into his gut making spit come out of him.
Sero yelled, "We're under attac…" he didn't get to finish because the same person slammed into his gut making him fall to the ground.
Moments later, the students of class 1-A were on the ground moaning in pain as they finally had a look at their assailant. It was a small elderly man wearing an old hero's suit.
The man introduced himself, "My name is Gran Torino. And from here until this summer camp is over, I'm going to be your drill instructor." He looked at 1-B and yelled, "You can come out now."
Ibara lowered her vines since the coast was clear as Gran said, "Smooth move, kid. You just saved yourself from an extreme can of butt-whooping." The student sweat-dropped at his comment.
Aizawa coughed, "Students, I want you to meet Gran Torino. He was a teacher at UA High when All Might was still a student and even though he's old, he's still as strong as any hero out there on the field." Aizawa looked at his class, "He's going to help us train and keep you in line during your stay here, so please to save yourself some pain; do as he asks you."
The students nodded, but Kendo asked, "With all due respect sir, but how are three of you going to help 40 of us? It seems a little bit of a stretch if you ask me."
"That's why we are also going to help." A voice said from behind the students as four people jumped to the middle of the training ground.
First was Mandalay who said, "Lock on with these sparkling gazes." She was then followed by a green-haired lady wearing a costume similar to that of Mandalay but colored yellow, "We've come here to land a paw and help." The woman was then followed by a huge man with a terrifying aurora wearing a brown version of the costume, "Coming out of nowhere…" The last one was Pixiebob, "Stingingly cute and catlike!" the four yelled in unison, "We're the Wild Wild Pussy Cats; full version"
Kamakiri then stated plainly, "Oh, so it seems the creepy cat ladies are going to chip in too."
The boy's face was quickly grabbed by Pixiebob who said, "Who the hell are you calling creepy, kid?"
Aizawa yelled silently, "Focus on the task at hand, Pixiebob. You can simp after the students at a later date." The woman groaned and went back to her comrades.
Mandalay began speaking, "I'm Mandalay, and with my quirk telepath. I can send multiple people advice at one time."
The green-haired woman introduced herself, "And I'm Ragdoll. My quirk is search. I can tag at least 100 hundred people at once. It helps me know their strengths, weaknesses, and many more."
Pixiebob said, "I'm Pixiebob. And with my land flow quirk, I can make the ideal training ground for each and every one of you kids, so get ready for hard training."
The man was the last one to introduce himself, "My name is Tiger, and I'm going to beat the shit out of you using my Pliabody."
Rin looked at Vlad, "Sir, I have some serious concerns about him can you hear me out."
Vlad flicked him on the head and said, "No. don't worry about Tiger. He's just a little intense, but his heart is at the right place."
All 7 heroes descended on the students and said, "Everyone will be distributed according to his or her quirk," Aizawa began as Vlad finished, "We begin now."
And with that, the official training camp began…
2 hours later, the entire place looked like a warzone because all the students were training their quirks to the limits. The scene begins with class 1-A. it shows Iida running around the entire premise using his quirk even though his engines are smoking. Sato and Momo were eating food while they were using their quirks respectively. Ochako was inside a hamster ball as she bounced around. Shoto was in a barrel trying to control its temperature. Kirishima and Ojiro were training with each other to increase the strength of their quirks. Mineta was plucking balls from his head even though it was bleeding. Mina and Jiro were training together; Jiro was plugging her jacks into the rocks to increase their strength, while Mina tried to melt them even though she had long passed her limit and her skin was burning due to the acid she was making. Shoji was trying to find Toru while Toru tried to remain as quiet as possible to avoid detection. Tsuyu was climbing a mountain using her tongue. Koda was screaming at the top of his lungs to increase the strength of his voice and the reach of his quirk. Sero was constantly making tape from his elbows, while Kaminari was nearby trying to increase his electric capacity. Tokoyami was inside a cave trying to control his quirk in absolute darkness. Aoyama was constantly firing his navel laser to increase the duration he could use it. Monoma was training his body by swapping quirks at a moment's notice. And finally, Shinso was training with Aizawa to better use his capture scarf. Class 1-A wasn't having a fun time.
Class 1-B wasn't having an easy time either. Each one of them was dancing in his own hell. Ibara was spreading her vines as far as she could while holding multiple objects at the same time. Setsuna was spreading her pieces around the camp while trying to increase the number of her pieces. Yui was training on increasing the size of the objects till they reached the maximum size. Reiko was trying to increase the range of her quirk and the weight limit. Pony was training her accuracy in shooting her horns and increasing the number of horns she could hold in the air at one time. Kinoko on the other hand was spreading the range of her spores. Kamakiri was working on increasing the strength of his blades and he asked Vlad for some time to train his air blade attacks. Manga was training his vocal cords while increasing his arsenal of words he could use. Bondo was training to increase the amount of glue he could release. Shihai was training his quirk in jumping from silently in different shades of black; Vlad asked the boy to jump into dark-colored objects like dark green; it was found the lighter the shade of darkness became the less Shihai could jump into the object. Tsuburaba was blowing air shields at a constant rate to increase his lung capacity. Juzo was melting stuff as big as he could while Awase was his quirk on stuff to train him to be quick while using it. The rest of the students were at Tiger's boot camp because their quirks were physical; Shishida, Kendo, Tetsu, Rin, Shoda, and Izuku were duking it out with Tiger while doing training exercises.
Gran Torino was making rounds on all the students and delivering kicks to them in case he thought they were slacking off while also helping students who were stuck and couldn't figure out what to do next. It was hellish.
Izuku yelled, "DETRIOT SMASH" Izuku delivered a punch toward Tiger who bent his back in a U-position and punched Izuku away before turning and grabbing Shishida by the waist and slamming him into the ground.
The beast boy was still trying to control a new mode he found out with Izuku's help. It was an intermediate mode between his human mode and beast mode.
The beast boy groaned, "I slipped out of it. I'm going to transform into it again." The boy said, but he was kicked by Gran Torino making him grumble under his breath, "Damned flying gremlin."
Izuku came back to kick Gran Torino, but he was smacked away by Tiger into another tree. Kendo came into the picture to punch Tiger, but Gran Torino kicked her. Tiger then rotated his body and punched Shoda away who collided with Kaibara. Kendo came back to grab Gran Torino, but Tiger grabbed her by her hair and slammed her into the ground as Kendo yelled, "That's not cool."
Izuku was against the tree as Gran Torino slammed into his gut, "Wake up, brat. We still have that other quirk of yours to train." Izuku nodded as he stood up and charged OFA back at 25%.
Izuku sped toward Tiger and threw a kick at him, but the man avoided it and grabbed his leg. Tiger then flung Izuku into a tree getting the boy tingled into its vines. Izuku fell from the tree as Tiger approached him with a deadly aurora, "You said you want 'Plus Ultra', right? Then show what that means!" Izuku jumped up with a smile.
Izuku then heard Gran Torino yell at him. "Hey, kid. Muscle training is up. Next time, you come here. You'll train around 30%. You can't simply stay at 25% all the time." Izuku nodded as he followed Gran Torino, "We'll go to that Shiozaki girl since your quirks are similar. She might have an idea on how to train it properly."
Izuku hummed in agreement as they reached Ibara, "Hey, girlie. Come over here for a second."
Ibara stopped her training and headed toward them, "How can I help you, Torino-sensei?"
Gran answered her, "He said you were helping him with that Blackwhip thing he pulled out of his ass during the final exam, so I want you to help him now." Ibara smiled and nodded.
Izuku followed Shiozaki as she returned to her training and talked to him, "You said previously that your quirk reacts to your emotion of anger, right?"
"Yeah, that's right." Izuku said, "But when I use it, I have to concentrate hard so it won't slip through my control or who knows what can happen."
Ibara shook her head, "And that's your first mistake. You can't control emotions. My vines are like your whips. They are guided by my emotions, but the difference in our control is that I allow my emotions to follow through my vines when I find a safe place so I can't be overwhelmed by them."
Izuku tilted his head in confusion, "I don't think I got you."
Ibara kept her neutral smile, "You should allow your quirk to flow through you. You can't hold it back. And it's like they say 'If you can't beat them, join them'. You can't hold back those whips, but at least, you can flow with them. find your peaceful place; a place where all your emotions meet so you can control your whips."
The boy nodded and began to focus. He tried to find a middle ground between his emotions, but it took a while to find it. The boy finally opened his eyes and saw a strand of Blackwhip before him.
Izuku smiled a little, "I think I'm starting to get the hang of this." Blackwhip then leashed out, but it was quickly snuffed out by Aizawa who was nearby.
Aizawa looked at him and sighed, "Good job with Blackwhip, but do try to control it more."
Izuku nodded and returned to his training with Ibara.
5 hours later, the members of the hero course were beyond exhausted. They seemed like empty husks of humans. They could barely move because of how tired they seemed.
They arrived at the cabin and were hoping to find some food waiting for them. they did, but it looked rather raw… everything was still in its packing bags and uncooked.
A silent wind blew through the students as Ragdoll laughed, "You didn't think we're going to cook your food every day until the end of camp. No, sir. Going on forward, you'll be cooking dinner."
The classes were pale white from tiredness, but Iida took this to heart and began to ramble something about how this would help them become better at comforting people after they are rescued.
It was 5 minutes later when the students were cooking curry to eat for dinner. Class 1-B was impressed by Izuku's cooking skills which the boy replied, "Well, sometimes I had to cook for myself because my mom had long night shifts."
Ibara was also a wizard in the kitchen who handled the knife gracefully. She looked like a full-blown wife making a meal for her family. She was humming and singing as she cooked the meal.
Awase looked at the girl and smiled a little as Kaminari came and nudged him, "You like her, don't you?" the boy pushed the electric blond away before going to help his classmates.
Izuku looked at Shoto and said, "Hey, Todoroki, can you make some fire so we can cook the curry on it?" Shoto nodded his head and burnt up some sticks they had in the oven.
It took about 45 minutes, but finally, the food was done. All the students were hungrily eating the food like monsters as Tetsu said, "Man, if someone served me crap like this, I would throw it in his face, but now… it seems like came from heaven."
Awase agreed, "Man, after all our hard work. We finally get to eat something. I'm so hungry right now." He then looked at Ibara who was gulping cup of water after cup of water, "Are you really that thirsty?"
Ibara blinked before answering, "Oh, no, but my quirk requires I stay thoroughly hydrated, so the more I drink, the more vines I can make and the stronger I can make them."
Tsuburaba then made a flying comment, "So, it's like how pee works."
The girl feeling dejected, embarrassed, and humiliated quickly sat in a corner alone while Awase beat up Tsuburaba while demanding he apologizes to Ibara for his comment.
Izuku was calmly eating his dinner when he noticed something. He looked around and didn't find Kota.
Setsuna poked his cheek, "Izuchan to earth, what are you looking around for? You seem distracted."
Izuku smiled, "Well, I just looking for Kota," he took a bowl of curry, "I want to deliver food to him to cheer him up. He seems a little down, so I thought this would be some kind of peace offering after…"
Setsuna giggled, "Yeah, I can still remember that." The girl could still hear Izuku's screech of pain when Kota punched him where it truly hurt, "I think you sounded like a pterodactyl."
Izuku shivered, "this is nothing to be laughed about, you know." The boy then turned and went to Mandalay, "Mandalay, do you know where I can find Kota? I want to give this bowl of curry so he can eat it." Izuku showed her the bowl of curry he was holding.
The woman hummed a little, "Oh, right." She then turned him around and pointed in a certain direction, "Do you see that path over there?" the boy slowly nodded, "That path leads to the top of the mountain there. there's a cave up there where Kota uses it as his hideout."
The boy nodded and began to trek up the mountain.
It took a few minutes, but he eventually reached the top where he found a Kota sitting in front of the entrance of a small cave talking to himself.
"Stupid heroes, Stupid villains." The boy took a rock and threw it deep into the forest, "Always trying to flaunt their strength and killing each other. It's so stupid and dumb."
Izuku coughed attracting his attention making the boy jump up and yell, "What the hell are you doing here? This is my secret place. No one is allowed to be here except me."
Izuku then brought up the bowl of curry, "Well, I thought you might be hungry so I brought you some food. I haven't seen you eat all day." Izuku went and put the bowl of food down.
Kota didn't take too kindly to the offer and yelled, "What part of 'I don't want anything to do with you hero wannabes' that so hard for you to understand? Get out of here." The boy took a small pebble and threw it at Izuku, "Right now. I don't want anyone here."
Izuku's smile didn't falter and asked, "So this is your secret base, huh? It looks nice. Reminds me of my childhood or at least a part of it?"
"Go away. I want you to be gone!" Izuku looked at Kota who had his fists clenched tightly and his whole body was tense, "All of you idiots trying to train your quirks. Getting hyped about something so stupid. You people disgust me since you're ready to do anything just to flaunt your corny ass powers."
Izuku's smile fell a little as he asked Kota, "Your parents… they're the water-based heroes 'Water Hos' couple. Aren't they?"
Kota glared at Izuku, "It was Mandalay, wasn't it? She can't keep a secret if it was to save her life."
Izuku then lied, "No, I'm a big hero fan, so I always read about what's happening with heroes." Izuku sat down and looked at the sky, "I came upon an article about them. it was truly tragic that they both died and all were left all alone. I'm sorry for that."
"Fuck you," Kota hissed, "All of you idiots need to see a mental doctor. All of you so-called heroes and villains willing to do anything to flaunt your power killing each other in the process." The boy looked Izuku straight in the eyes, "Eventually, you'll end up like my parents… inside a body bag… leaving everyone that loves and cares about you behind."
Izuku didn't reply as he reminisced on the times that he was quirkless. It wasn't easy. Oh, how many times he wished that his pain would just go away. Looking back at it, it all seems like a distant dream, but sometimes, he feels like he is going to wake up to his old horrible life.
He looked at Kota before looking at himself, 'I was always angry at Bakugo for making my life hell, but I never felt the need to blame quirks…' Izuku looked down at the ground, 'but Kota, he hates quirks itself… no scratch that he hates everything that has to do with hero society.'
"Why aren't you saying anything?" Kota shouted, "Don't tell me that the cat ate your tongue?"
"No, no, I was just distracted with my thoughts." Izuku looked at Kota, "For the longest time, I wished I had a quirk. You see I was quirkless. I was born without a quirk, so I tried my hardest to force myself to manifest my parents' quirks, but I couldn't do that."
Kota frowned, "Quirkless? What's that?"
Izuku replied, "It's a rare genetic mutation where the child doesn't have a quirk. He's just a normal person. He can't fly. He can't breathe fire. He can't do anything." Izuku ruffled his hair, "I was told that I couldn't be a hero, but I couldn't give up on my dreams, so I worked the best I could."
Izuku looked at Kota, "I know that I can't say this without sounding corny, but the more you reject yourself and your quirk, you're only going to hurt yourself, so that's why…"
Kota then yelled, "Shut the hell up." He kicked the ground, "Why are you telling what everyone has said hundreds of times? Leave me be."
Izuku sighed, "I'm sorry for bringing nothing new." He turned around and began to head down the mountain, "I will leave this bowl of food for you here."
When Izuku was away, the boy looked at the bowl of food and said, "I don't want anything from you people except leaving me alone."
Back with Izuku, the boy walked back to his friends and sat beside Kendo who asked him, "Why do you look like someone punched your favorite dog?"
Izuku laughed a little, "No… it's just…" the boy flopped to the table and squashed his cheek against it, "I went to talk to Kota, but I think I made things much worse." The boy groaned, "It's true like they say no good deed goes unpunished."
Kendo frowned, "You know something Izuku…" the boy looked at her, "I know you want to be a good hero, but some people can't be reached too. You need to wait for them to come around."
Izuku pouted and puffed his cheeks, "But it's my job as a hero to meddle to help people."
Kinoko laughed, "You know acting like a child won't help make your point stronger, but I get where you're getting at…" The girl took a spoonful of curry and swallowed it, "But what Kendo meant is that some people are too hard to help them with words…"
Kendo hummed in agreement, "Plus, it's hard for a kid his age to simply accept his parents died." She looked at the sky, "It must be tearing him apart. No one can understand his pain." The girl shook her head disapprovingly, "and everyone keeps telling him to be proud or something. It must suck."
Tetsu entered the conservation, "Yeah, tell me about it. My mom was in an accident when I was young and lost her ability to walk. To this day, I still feel bad about what happened."
Kinoko looked at Tetsu, "I'm sorry to hear that, Tetsu. Maybe one day, you could be able to give her some kind of invention to help her regain her ability to walk again."
The boy's lips twitched up a little, "I wish I could do that, but the doctors said it was pretty impossible. The damage was too severe to restore her ability to walk, and too much movement leaves her in pain."
Kendo patted his back, "I'm sorry to hear that, Tetsu." She hugged him slightly, "I hope one day she gets better." The boy had a small blush and looked away.
Izuku then said, "I know that everyone can't be saved." He shuddered a little remembering Native, "Native was a lesson so hard, it made whatever Bakugo did to me seem like a stroll in the park. Seeing someone die on your hands is horrible, but Kota…" the boy clenched his fist, "I won't stop till I help him."
Setsuna then put her head on Izuku's, "Well, you can always use your power of friendship to make him like you." Izuku groaned thinking his friends had long forgotten about this joke, "Kinda like what you did with Shinso and Kamakiri."
Kamakiri yelled from the side, "Shut the hell up. I'm his rival, not his friend."
Setsuna stuck out her tongue, "You can be both, genius." Her headless body stood in front of Togaru and crossed its arms, "Plus, you can't deny that you respect him very much."
Togaru popped a blade which he used to chop a carrot for him to eat. He looked at the headless body and shivered, "First, go away from here. You're giving me the wellies." He looked back at his food, "Plus, I respect him for his strength, but that doesn't mean I'm his friend."
Kendo said, "Well, see how much that lasts. The protagonist of the story always ends up with his rival becoming friends." All the girl got in reply was a silent 'Fuck you'
Kendo then noticed something. It was Iida talking to Reiko with Shinso standing on Iida's shoulder like a lion ready to attack his prey. At the end of this conservation, Iida bowed to the ground as Reiko sighed. Moments later, the boy was going up and down like an inflated balloon at a car wash.
Reiko merely sighed and shook her head as she excused herself to come and sit down beside her boyfriend. The boy blushed as the poltergeist user began to feed him with her quirk.
Kendo and Izuku walked up to Reiko and asked her, "What did that stick-in-the-mud talk to you about?" Kendo finished her inquiry as Izuku elbowed her because Shinso was there.
The girl turned to them, "He was apologizing for what happened in our final exam." The girl smiled a little, "it was nice of him to do that. You don't know how many people would refuse to talk to the creepy girl."
Shinso then said, "I don't think you're creepy. I think your habits make you extremely cool and attractive." Reiko blushed a little before pinching Shinso's cheeks and kissing him.
Izuku and Itsuka had burning faces at the public display of emotion. Shinso looked at them and defended themselves, "Don't judge me. I'm touch-starved. I suffer from emotional dryness."
Izuku and Itsuka nodded and went away as Kendo asked, "So, are you still planning to help that kid?"
Izuku looked at Itsuka and nodded, "I want to help him. I can't leave him like that." He looked at Iida and remembered how the boy was acting, "I don't want him to drown in his bitterness."
Itsuka hummed, "You're right. If he continues down this path, no one knows what will happen…" the girl rubbed her shoulder, "But I don't know about this… it just seems… I mean it isn't our right to interfere with his life." She sighed a little, "But sometimes, people like him want to see action rather than words since they have more effect on them."
Izuku nodded, "I understand, but a hero's job is to interfere where he isn't allowed." The girl hummed a little and went back to continue eating her food.
In half an hour, all the boys and girls from both classes were fast asleep except a chosen few who were still suffering from extra classes. Those people were Shoto, Iida, Sero, Kaminari, and Sato from 1-A who were stuck with Aizawa while class 1-B had Yui and Kaibara stuck with Vlad King.
The students were looking at their teacher with half-lidded eyes, but Aizawa woke them up by wrapping his scarf around their bodies.
Aizawa then said, "Come on, don't make this harder than it already is." the man retracted his scarf, "You jokers want to sleep. Well, so do I, but we both have work to do."
The students then said in a unified voice, "As you wish, Aizawa-sensei."
In the other room, Yui and Sen were staring at Vlad with dead expressions making the man sweat a little, 'I don't know who was torturing who at this point? Those looks are going to give me nightmares.'
The two students asked, "Are we free to go to sleep, Vlad-sensei?" the man shook his head and the two students sighed before they carried on with their lessons.
From a vantage point not too far away from the camp, a bunch of people stood watching. Dabi looked at the camp with a sick smile on his face. He looked at the team that Shigaraki somehow managed to assemble.
The man looked at them, "Don't do anything suspicious or anything that might reveal our location?"
Three girls looked at him and nodded. the oldest of them replied, "Yeah, sure, but we want to have fun." Dabi rolled his eyes and smacked his forehead wondering where Tomura managed to find these people. the three sisters annoyed him very much.
Toga looked at the girls, "I bet you're excited to see the students bleed like me, right?" the girls sweat-dropped as they stepped away from Toga. The girl scared them royally.
Two huge figures looked at them. One of them had a cloak covering his entire body, while the other one had a similar cloak over his body with a hockey mask covering his face.
The man with the hockey mask then said, "This is getting me excited." He clenched his fist, "I can't wait to fight and see some blood."
A man wearing a strait jacket then said, "I want to have meat… Meat… Meat… I can't wait to have…" his speech made the more mellow members of the vanguard sweat in fear.
A boy wearing a gas mask looking at his comrades, "We can't do anything to make anyone suspicious."
A lizard-looking man then said, "Everything I do today is for the sake of a better world."
A man wearing a black-and-white suit yelled, "I can't wait for this/I'm seriously nervous about this."
Finally, a man wearing a magician's suit said, "I can't say that I'm not excited about this. I'm planning to do a wonderful show." While Mange stood there beside them watching the place silently.
Dabi looked at the training camp, "Those heroes down there are the reason why everything is corrupted. Today, all of them will fall and be destroyed. Everything that will happen will lead to a better world."
Toga grabbed her dress and pulled it, "I don't like my dress. I hate it. It's not cute at all." The girl began to whine, "Can we go back and change it?"
The boy wearing a gas mask replied, "We had those designed by a specialist. Like hell, we're going to return them because they aren't cute. Go do it yourself." This made Toga puff her cheeks
The man wearing a hockey mask replied, "I don't care about this. I want to see blood and bones."
Dabi then said, "Enough, you crazy lunatics. Nothing is going to happen tonight if you cause us to be discovered. Do you want freaking All Might to come down on us from the sky?"
Dabi looked back at the camp and said, "Today, we won't do anything, but tomorrow… we're going to move. We're going to destroy everything tomorrow. We're going to drill fear into them."
The next day began and the training was just as intense as yesterday. It was like hell on earth…
…but the training for some people was harder than others. The remedial students were having hell on Earth… even the likes of Shoto were about to fall over, but the boy was pulled back up as Aizawa said, "Hey, remedial students. Keep up the work. I want to see these bodies moving, not falling over."
Sato replied, "The mind is willing, Aizawa-sensei, but the body is really tired. I can barely feel anything." Aizawa's reply was to wrap Sato with his bandages and straighten him up.
Aizawa sighed, "Look, I know this is hard, but you need to remember something…" He glared down at his students, "You students need to work harder than others because you failed your exams. Iida, you need to increase your speed and maneuverability. Sato, you need to increase your limit and try new types of sugars… I want to see their effects on you. Todoroki, work both sides because you're way back when it comes to your fire. Sero, you need to make your tapes stronger and produce them for a longer time. Kaminari, increase your voltage limit."
He then looked at Ochako and said, "Ochako, you aren't off the hook. You barely managed to pass yourself, so make sure to work hard, or else I'll decide to force you to have a remedial class."
The girl squeaked in fear before running off and carrying on with her training as hard as she could.
Meanwhile, Izuku was working as hard as he could to control Blackwhip. He was now standing beside Shiozaki as she was instructing him on how to use his quirk in a better way. Right now, the boy has five strands of Blackwhip from each hand holding a rock.
It was hard and tedious, but he was beginning to get the hang of it with time and help.
Ibara clapped her hands, "That's wonderful, Midoriya. I'm sure by the end of the summer camp. You'll going to have fully mastered it." The girl then went back to her training before Gran came around and kicked her since she wasn't doing anything.
The boy returned to concentrating on using Blackwhip and getting familiar with it. Banjo was right; this quirk was really useful, but it needed some time to master it.
Izuku took a deep breath and imagined himself near a beach where he was watching the waves crash into the sand. The boy allowed Blackwhip to manifest and extend. The boy looked and saw 5 strands of Blackwhip coming out of each arm.
The boy's concentration was then cut when he heard, "You're beginning to get the hang of this." he looked and saw Mandalay smiling at him, "How about we train it along the track?" she pointed a track going into the forest, "Try to swing yourself through the track using Blackwhip." Izuku nodded.
The boy calmed himself and allowed Blackwhip to flow there him and he had a strand of Blackwhip coming out of him. he then activated OFA at 25% percent and began swinging through the forest like a monkey, but at some point, the boy lost control and almost fell to the ground if he didn't use his air bullets to push himself upward.
Izuku sighed, "Man, I was so close, but I missed at the end…" he ran his hand through his hair, "Damn it, I need to work harder on controlling Blackwhip, if I want to use it right."
A voice behind him made him jump in fear, "Don't be too hard on yourself. You're doing fine." He looked and saw Vlad, "You're advancing quite well given this part of your quirk manifested recently." Vlad ruffled Izuku's hair and began to walk away.
Izuku then yelled, "Vlad-sensei, I need to ask you something." The man looked back at him, "When is All… I mean the other teachers from UA, aren't they coming here?"
Vlad shook his head, "I'm afraid not, Midoriya. To maintain the secrecy of this place, we made sure to keep the information about this training camp to a bare minimum, so don't worry about those details. Just keep training and getting better at controlling your power."
Ragdoll appeared from behind Vlad, "That's why we are helping." The woman stood in front of Izuku, "The villains have already targeted your school many times, so we can't have All Might here so you can be safe."
Pixiebob then said, "Don't worry, kids. Today, we're going to give a good reward." Every student looked at her expectantly, "Because you're working so hard, we decided to give you a fun activity to do at night." The students were disappointed since this looked like more work.
Kendo sighed, "Oh wonderful, I forgot that we might have night activities.
Jiro hung her head low, "For the love of… and apparently, it's going to be training and in the dark no less." The girl returned to vibrating the ground with her jacks, "Why can't this be easy and simple?"
Izuku looked to the side and saw something interesting. Shoto was standing in front of a structure of rock and was bathing it in fire. He can hear Tetsu from inside telling Shoto to go harder on him, 'I guess that Vlad-sensei is training Tetsu to increase his elemental vulnerability.'
In the afternoon, both classes were standing in front of the hero team. They were waiting for the night activity to begin so they could get this night over with and go to sleep.
Pixiebob then said, "Since our stomachs are filled and the training day is over. Do you know what that means?" the students were excited, but Mina jumped up and yelled with happiness, "A totally awesome test of courage."
Some of the guys from class 1-A came up beside her and cheered her on, "Yeah, we're going to win this."
Aizawa looked at the scene and said, "Before we begin, and though it pains me to say this, the remedial students and myself are going to have more sessions together."
Mina pouted a little, "Come on, Aizawa-sensei." The man looked at her with his usual tired face, "Give those guys a break. I mean they've been working hard all day."
Aizawa replied, "Ashido if you're having so many emotions regarding them and the unfair treatment, why don't you join them?" the girl disappeared from the man's sight faster than Iida.
Aizawa scoffed, "Cowards" The man dragged the remedial students toward their extra classes.
Izuku looked at them and a tear slid down his face. He looked to the side with Vlad hauling a struggling Kaibara with Yui silently following them as she petted Kaibara's head.
Pixiebob then said, "We're going to begin to explain our awesome test of courage, so get ready."
Tiger took over, "You students are going to be divided into two groups. The group that will go into the forest and prepare traps to scare the other group that will go into the forest and try not to get scared. Of course, we're doing two rounds, so we can see which class scares the pants off the other better."
Kendo facepalmed, "Did he really need to implant this vision into my head? I could have lived my entire life without imagining my classmates pantless."
Setsuna shrugged, "Meh, I mean I imagine people naked when I feel stressed out." The reply she got was Kendo smacking her head off making Setsuna's head fall in front of Mina and Toru, "Hey, girls. How are you feeling tonight?" this made both girls scream in fright.
Ragdoll yelled, "I like your enthusiasm, my fellow greenette. An extra point for class 1-B for having the first scare of the night." Setsuna chuckled a little and returned her head to her body winking at Kendo.
Mandalay then said, "But let's set some ground rules. The scaring team isn't allowed the touch anyone directly, so they'll need to improvise their tactics. Also, the teams who are going to move through the forest need to reach the middle of the forest where Ragdoll will be waiting for you to give a paper that proves you were there." She then clapped her hands, "Alright, let's divide the teams."
5 minutes later, Izuku was looking around and searching for someone with the number 1.
Setsuna then hugged him from behind, "Guess, we're teammates now. Get ready, Izuchan because we're going to have lots of fun scaring the wits out of people." she grabbed Izuku and began dragging him into the forest, "I already have a couple of ideas on how we can use our quirks to scare class 1-A."
The boy screamed in shock as his friends watched him disappear into the horizon. Kendo sweat-dropped, "Man, she seems excited for this, but I can't blame her. Her quirk seems suited for this."
Tetsu nodded, "Yeah, I don't know what to do if I was the one walking the forest with Tokage planning to scare me." He shuddered remembering the girl's pranks back at junior high, "Too scary."
Kendo patted him on the back as she went with her teammate Juzo to start planning their plans. Tetsu shook his head and walked to his teammate Yanagi as he asked her, "What are we going to do?"
The girl for the first time gave him a full smile making Tetsu quiver, "Follow me, minion of darkness."
Kinoko looked at Shihai who was smiling and she smiled back. They were going to kill this thing.
Author's notes:
Welcome back to a new chapter of my story. In this chapter, we saw the training of the students during the camp, Izuku's talk with Kota, the villains' arrival, and finally the test of courage begins. Now, I took the liberty of adding a few more villains into the mix which will reveal some backstory to some characters like Tetsu and characters who are close to Izuku but aren't in his circle of friends. The next chapter will focus on the beginning of the camp attack, and the setting of the fighting scenes. Stay tuned because I'm going to do a double upload.
As always please take of yourselves, write your opinion about the current chapter in the reviews, and tell what you think I can do to make the story better.
And finally, I hope you all enjoy reading my work, and see you next time with a brand new chapter.
