The Reason Behind Everything
Directly after the camp attack, Mr. Compress fell out of a portal and rolled on the ground, "This performance got interrupted spectacularly." The man stood up and dusted his coat, "But I still managed to bring back our target, so cheers for a mission well done."
Tomura replied, "Almost. We lost a couple of pawns, but they weren't worth the effort to begin with." He scratched off the face of Moonfish who he brought as cannon fodder to begin with, and the harpy girls since he knew they weren't going to last long, their fate was either capture or death.
The blue-haired male saw a portal open and the chainsaw Nomu came through, but it didn't have anyone with it. After the failure of the spike Nomu to capture Ragdoll, the chainsaw Nomu was sent to do just that. The blue-haired male grumbled in anger, "Another failure. This one was for Sensei." He looked at Compress, "Why didn't you bring the hero with you?"
Compress apologized as Kurogiri opened another portal, "The heroes managed to take her to safety," Compress explained, "If I went after her, I would have been captured and none of the targets would have been captured. My apologies."
Dabi walked through the portal with Toga and Twice, "Yeah, hero brats proved to be on a whole different level. Mustard's gas didn't even knock them out. They fought back and kicked the idiot's butt quickly when they found him."
Tomura looked at Toga and Twice, "What about you clowns? What did you do? Did you kill a student?" both of them shook their heads in a negative motion making Tomura sigh.
Kurogiri then said, "Muscular and Rex have been delivered to the doctor to begin treating them."
Tomura hummed approvingly, "Good even though Muscular is a loose cannon, he still has his uses." The man-child carried on, "And Rex is good to bring in more mutants to our cause." He looked around and asked, "Where is Mange and Spinner by the way?"
Kurogiri pointed to the corner of the room where the two villains were groaning from pain because they fell on the edge of Kurogiri's bar making Tomura say, "You're a savage, Kurogiri."
The mist man didn't react to the compliment, but he only dipped his head.
The T.V. came on and AFO spoke through it, "Tell me, young Tomura? Was your mission a success?" the man added, "And did you bring what I asked you for? That woman's quirk is going to be a great addition to my arsenal and yours too in the future when you receive AFO."
Tomura bowed his head, "Sensei, my mission was a success. I managed to grab the hero brat and we're now bringing the quirk-surpassing seat that you and the doctor gave to us, but as for your request," Tomura bit his lip, "I'm sorry. I failed you. The hero brats managed to take her back to safety before anyone could grab her. Any capture attempt might have resulted in losing more members of the raid."
AFO went silent for a bit making Tomura nervous, but he then said, "No need to apologize, young Tomura. While it is a pity, we didn't manage to capture her, I have foreseen this so I sent the doctor on a mission to bring back some of her blood. This way we can still have her quirk factor and add it to you when you receive my quirk. Search is quite an excellent quirk."
Tomura nodded, "Do you wish for me to do anything else, Sensei?"
The man replied, "No, young Tomura. For now, all I want is for you to make an ally from the student that you took from the heroes. If you do that, it will be a harsh blow to this society that worships heroes like they are gods. it will be the final nail in this twisted society's coffin."
The T.V. went silent as Tomura said, "Well, did you put him inside the cuffs on the chair?"
Dabi replied, "Yeah, he's all nice and cozy in his new chair. I still don't understand why didn't you kidnap the purple-haired one. With his quirk, it could have been easier to convince him to join."
Tomura shook his head, "No, this one is a person with a very dark history. His past will be the key to making him join our cause. Don't worry about it. I have everything covered."
Dabi looked at him and muttered to himself, "Doubtful, I don't think you have anything covered."
The burnt man looked at a knocked-out Kamakiri who seemed to be in deep sleep and wouldn't wake up anytime soon making him sigh, "This is going to take forever."
Kurogiri then opened a portal and sent the Nomu back to AFO, "Master, requested it so he can make upgrades to this chainsaw Nomu. It appears he wasn't pleased with its performance."
Tomura looked at Kamakiri, "He's going to make a good team player whether be it willingly or forcibly." He said looking back at the spot where Nomu was standing.
25 years ago, a young grasshopper-like girl was walking through a college campus when a couple of students surrounded her, the girl looked at them with a bored expression being used to this sort of thing, "Again? Don't you guys have anything better to do with your lives?"
One of them replied, "Not until we put freaks like you in their places." The girl hated her community college because it was in the countryside which in other words meant places where the creature rejection clan bred like rabbits in mating season.
The girl sighed, "Look, I have an upcoming assignment and I don't have time for this." she hated her parents couldn't afford to send her to a college in the city where the people were more open-minded, but alas here she was. Plus, it was closer to him according to her parents.
The boys didn't seem to back down, so she said, "Don't go crying after I kick your butts again." The girl then jumped around like a ricocheting bullet slamming into each one and knocking the wind out of them. In the end, all of her aggressors were face down groaning in pain.
One of them had a nasty gash on his leg because he fell on it from fear. The others got up and ran away leaving him behind. The grasshopper girl saw the pain he was in, so she sighed, "I'm going to hate myself later for this."
The girl walked up to the boy who yelled, "Stay back you freak. Just because I'm hurt, doesn't mean…" the boy was hit over the head silencing him quickly, "…Ouch."
"If it hurts, it means it worked," she then took out a cloth and some disinfectants, "Now stay still while I make our that your wound doesn't get an infection." The boy tried to speak, but he didn't say anything when the girl raised her fist saying, "Do you want to be hit again?"
The boy quietly shook his head as the girl began treating him. She then asked, "Why is someone like you walking with a bad crowd like them?" the boy flinched when she tightened the cloth over his injury, "You don't strike me as the type who wants to commit genocide given a girl can make you cry over a small injury on your leg."
The boy retorted, "I don't want to hear it from you." He stood and flinched from his wound, "Your people are the reason why there are so many crimes. You live and breed from committing violent acts. Mutants only turn out as villains. Nothing more, nothing less."
The girl laughed a little before asking, "Do you believe your little speech or do you just mimic?"
The boy looked frustrated, but the girl didn't stop, "And how dare you accuse me of being a villain in the making when you attacked me with your buddies from midair?"
The boy didn't reply, but the grasshopper girl smiled, "So, you're just someone who got in something way greater than his head." she gently tapped his cheek, "How cute!"
The boy slipped the hand away, "I didn't join the CRC because I was forced. I joined it because I believe in its cause to make the human race pure again…" he was cut off by her laughter, "What's so funny now? Why are you laughing?"
The girl bent over from laughter, "It's just that you admitted you're a member of the CRC so causally. you truly joined them because you didn't know what you were going into."
The boy was getting angrier when he was punched in the gut by the girl, "Don't you know that CRC is a criminal organization that will get anyone into jail?" this made him panic, "You didn't know?"
The boy shook his head making her laugh harder before asking, "What's your name dumbass?"
"Kenji. Kenji Kamakiri." The boy said with depression being visible over his head.
"Well, you're in luck. I'm going to help you." The girl said turning around and walking to her class, "I'm not going to call the cops on you, but stop going into your crazy cult. It makes you look like a crazy looney toon."
The boy didn't say anything, but he asked, "Why are you helping me when I want nothing from you but seeing you die?"
The girl shrugged, "Well, I don't honestly have a reason to help you. You seem like a good guy who mingled with the wrong crowd or is possibly stuck in the worst family in the history of families."
She continued to walk, "And by the way, my name is Akane Kimura. Talk to me when you get your head out of your ass."
"…and that's how I first met your mother," An adult Kenji told his son who was staring excitedly at him, "And after a couple of well-earned umm… disciplinary lessons…" "We call them beatdowns" His wife yelled from the kitchen making him sigh before carrying on, "…well-earned beatdowns, I got out of the CRC and got to know your mother better. After that, I knew how wrong I was to stand against an entire people just because of a perceived notion. I helped the heroes take down my branch of the CRC, and we moved to another village to here peacefully." He left out the part where he found out the remnants of the CRC he destroyed were actively looking for him. Now, he wouldn't say he was paranoid, but the new heroes that replaced the old ones who were responsible for his safety and his family gave him a bad feeling. Add to that, a couple of new faces in this village who seemed unfriendly toward the mutant population especially him and his family is giving a feeling that the village is slowly turning against him.
Akane came out of the kitchen, "After that, he asked me to marry him, so I said 'yes' only to have you a couple of years later, my little bug boy." The woman patted the head of a 4-year-old Togaru who was beaming with excitement.
The little boy asked, "So, dad is like a hero? Since he stopped the bad guys?"
The older man shook his head, "Not really," the young boy looked at him, "If anything, your mother is my hero since she saved me from myself and the dark path I was walking on."
The young boy nodded and went to the kitchen to eat. Once he was out of sight, Akane asked her husband, "Where did you get with buying the new house in the city?" the woman asked calmly, but he could hear the urgency in her tone.
"I already paid most of the price. All I need now is a little bit more and we can finally leave this hellhole." the older man was sure that the CRC was beginning to catch up to him and his family so he decided to leave this village and hide in the city where CRC doesn't have too much ground.
The woman nodded and hugged him, "I trust you. I always have. Always will be."
Little did they know this night would be the last night they spent time together as a family since the next day was something that was going to be carved into their memories for their entire lives.
The next day, Togaru was crying in a playground after a bunch of children beat him. his father came by and chased the children away. The older man began to bandage him and asked, "What did happen?"
"I asked them if they wanted to play with me," the young boy wiped tears from his eyes, "but they ganged up on me and began to hit me. I hate them. they said I was a freak and that I deserved to die."
The older man sighed, "That was horrible, wasn't it?"
The young nodded, but the old man said, "Then hold it to heart and make sure to make these people see they are wrong."
The young boy tilted his head, "And how do I do that?"
"By being better than them," Togaru's father told him, "Do you remember what happened when I met your mom?" the father asked his son.
"She kicked your can." The boy replied making his father's face fall a bit, so he tried another time, "Oh, alright. She kicked your can and your friends' cans too." A sweat-drop fell down his father's forehead.
"No, she didn't tell on me." His father explained, "If she told on me that day, I would have been sent to prison where I would have fallen deeper into my hatred against mutants in general and her in specific, but she decided to be better and help me indirectly because when she didn't tell on me, I kept following her which allowed me to understand that the world is much wider and different than I thought. It was because of her small act of kindness; that she was able to change the world around her."
Kamakiri nodded, "So all I have to do is to be better than them, and they'll stop hurting me."
The older man hummed, "Yes, be better than them and show them how wrong they are. Sometimes a small act of kindness can help build a beautiful future where everyone lives happily."
The two then went back home not knowing this would be the last day they would see each other alive. The remnants of the CRC his father helped take down had finally caught up to them and no one was going to help them that night.
It was a late night at the Kamakiri household. The father was still watching TV. It was something he learned when he started attending therapy to get rid of the programming the CRC implanted in him. The man was about to fall asleep on his couch when something shattering jolted him wide awake. He looked and saw a rock with a note on it.
The man took the note and read it making his blood go cold. The note read 'NO MORE RUNNING AWAY, TRAITOR' the older man ran toward the upper part of his house and woke up his family.
He woke up his wife, "Wake up. There's no time. they found us. You need to run away from here as fast as possible." The woman didn't register what he was saying at first being half asleep, but once she was fully awake, her normally green skin turned white from fear.
Another crashing sound echoed from the lower part of the house as the sounds of flames began to fill the sound making the man hiss, "Shit, they're trying to burn us alive."
"I'll open a path for you to run outside the backdoor, and I'll go to the front and distract them." the man said trying to sound as calm as possible.
"Hell, no. I don't want you to act like some sacrificial limb. This…" the woman tried to carry on, but the man stopped her, "this isn't up to discussion. They're here and they won't stop, but if I distract them long enough. I'll be able to give you enough time to take Togaru and run away with him."
He then gave her keys, "This is for the new home in the city." He kissed her forehead, "I love you."
They went downstairs and Kenji opened a path for him and his son who remained silent all the time.
The man managed to make his way through the flames to the front of the house, "So, you finally came here. I thought you were thrown inside the jail. How the heck did some of you get out? I was there when they caught you." The man didn't get any replies, but he only got angry yells ranging from 'Kill the traitor' to 'Destroy the freaks and purify the village'
Kenji didn't look back, "I won't allow you to harm my family.' The man pulled a bone blade from his body, "Even though I never trained my quirk, it won't stop me from fighting you." The house behind him was burning as the night lit with the flames.
The remnants of the CRC from his old home and the ones from his village charged at him.
In the forest near the house, Akane made her way deep into the forest running as fast as she could. Her quirk gave her an advantage in such situations. Her son looked at her, "Mom, where's dad?"
The mother looked at him with teary eyes, but she smiled, "Don't worry, Ru. Everything will be alright." The boy wasn't pleased by the answer because he could still hear the flames.
The woman kept running for hours on end until she found a bus station. The woman boarded and headed toward the city where she arrived at her new home with nothing, but the clothes on her back. The woman found some cash inside the house with a note.
The note read 'In case anything went wrong, I left these for you, me, or our son.'
The woman cried herself to sleep that night.
The next few weeks, the now family two spent it praying their final member was still alive until a knock on the door drew them toward it. The woman opened it and there was a police officer. He was holding a vase with a serious expression.
Togaru recognized him from his old home. The police officer told them how he was happy they were still alive after her husband went crazy and started killing people left and right. He left the house telling them to stay out of trouble with a dangerous gleam in his eyes.
Togaru never believed this story, but his mother didn't say anything to stop the cop from smearing his father's name.
His mother told him that justice often overlooks those who don't have power.
The new life in the city was better… for his mother at least. Togaru went from the kid with the villainous look to the kid with the villainous quirk.
He was bullied around for 5 years making him feel miserable and whenever he fought back, he always found himself in trouble.
The boy began to fall deeper into depression, but one day something happened. He saw a child stuck in a tree. He was 5 years old. His first instinct was to ignore the kid and go on with his day, but he remembered something his father told him years ago. On that fateful day, he remembered his father saying 'A small act of kindness can create a path for a better future for everyone."
The boy sighed and helped the kid down only for his mother to come and take the child.
The mantis-looking teen rolled his eyes waiting to be torn down by the woman only to get praised for saving her son and told he was going to be a wonderful hero someday. For the first time since the incident that day, Akane saw her son smiling at home.
That day Togaru decided to become a hero in hopes of creating awareness among people to hopefully create a better future where mutants and non-mutants can live peacefully. He wanted to apply what his father told him but on a larger scale, though his experiences made him rough around the edges.
Back in the present, Togaru began to slowly wake up. The events of the training camp were beginning to come back to him. he didn't why he felt like he was trapped inside a void of some sort. He looked around him only to see some kind of bar with some of the villains he saw from the camp with a couple of new faces. One of them was a burnt man, the other was some kind of weirdo that kept talking to himself, another was a blond girl who looked normal but she had an aura that screamed crazy bitch, and the last was some wannabe magician. He was sure the latter was the one that captured him from under everyone's noses.
Of course, there were some people who he recognized. The mist man and… "Handjob, you're the leader of these ragtag idiots. They barely managed to grab me. How the hell are you the leader?" he looked at the other villains, "What? Did all the good bosses of crime go missing and you decided to sell your dignity to him?"
Dabi and Toga began to laugh while Twice said, "This is funny because it's true/Shut up! Tomura is a wonderful boss." Compress just chuckled into his fist.
Tomura fought down the urge to decay the teen into nothing and coughed into his hand, "Nice joke, teammate, but I didn't bring you here to joke. I brought you here so we can talk business."
Kamakiri looked at him like he was crazy, "I'm your teammate? And you have an offer for me?" he looked at him a little longer, "Did you lose your mind at some point? Whatever you have you can take it and shove it up your ass!"
Tomura snapped for a moment, "Listen here you little shit, you're going to hear what I have to say or so help me I'm going to make you into nothing but…"
A voice came through the speakers, "Don't allow him to get to you, young Tomura. He's trying to frustrate you, so you can make a mistake. Stay calm and make your desires come true."
Tomura nodded while Kamakiri thought, 'It makes sense that someone like Handjob isn't the boss of the league. He doesn't have the resources or the mentality to lead them.' he looked at the screen and asked himself, 'But who the hell is the person leading Tomura?'
Tomura then turned back to Togaru, "Let's get back to business. I want you to join the League of Villains." The villain saw Togaru's shocked face, "With you by our side, you'll be able to get the revenge that you so desire against the society that allowed your father's killers to remain at large living their lives like nothing happened."
Togaru's eyes widened. His entire body tensed up. How dare he use his father's death like that?
The boy began thrashing around in his confines, "I'm going to get out of here and gut you. How dare you use my father's memory like this? I'm going to rip your insides out and use them as decorations for my ant habitat."
Tomura smiled, "Such energy is going to be wasted on heroes. Think about it, Kamakiri." The boy stopped and glared at him, "I can help you destroy the CRC until the last member. I can help you destroy the village that betrayed your family after they were infiltrated by the CRC and turned their backs against you. So, what do you think?"
Dabi then said, "Take it, kid. The heroes turned a blind eye to you. Why do you want to become one?" he walked up to him and leaned on the side of the chair, "Join us. You'll have better chances here. We'll be able to help you get rid of those who annoyed you."
"Zip it, crispy. Like hell I'll work with you clowns." Kamakiri retorted swiftly, "You can take your help and shove it where the sun doesn't shine." He tried to make blades, but nothing happened.
Compress joined the conversation, "Think about it, young man. With your talents, the stage we're offering will be greater and you'll be able to spread your message faster for more people." he looked behind and Kurogiri nodded, "We have someone who will share his experience with you."
The boy looked and saw a humanoid dinosaur walk through the portal followed by Muscular making a chill travel down the boy's spine. He knew who the blond killer was and he was certainly not happy seeing him still free.
Kurogiri then introduced the dino villain, "This is Rex. He is a member of the LOV. He'll help you see our point of view."
Togaru rolled his eyes, 'Here comes the crazy. I bet he's some kind of moron where children…'
The boy was knocked from his thoughts when Rex started talking, "I was like you at one point. I thought the world could be changed by hope, but I saw my approach was wrong."
He lifted his shirt revealing many scars, "I was once trapped inside a circus. I was kidnapped by them from my home. The owner of this circus put us through the most inhumane treatment anyone can imagine. The things he did to us still give me nightmares to this day. We used to call him the grandmaster. He used to tell us that freaks like us are to be paraded around in circuses. That we'd serve a greater purpose if we entertain those with pure blood. He also had one of your classmates there for your information."
Kamakiri raised his eyebrow, "One day, I managed to escape, but a hero who was bribed by the grandmaster stopped me. The hero handed me back to the circus, but someone saw this forcing the hero to turn against the circus to save face. The hero who was protecting them for so long attacked them in the dead of the night and managed to defeat them. In the end, that hero got credit for everything." The man clenched his fist, "I tried to protest this, but I was told that it was my word against his. I tried to fight against it, but I was warned that if I dug too deep, I'd be sent to a deep grave. From that way forward, I knew the only way to freedom was through might."
Rex walked up to him, "You might think being a pacifist might help, but only brute strength will make us take our rights back." The villain stretched out a hand, "What do you say?"
Himiko nodded, "Yeah, Rex is just like you. He suffered because he was a mutant." She then pointed at Spinner, "He didn't have an easy life too."
Before Togaru could reply, Compress spoke, "Please, think about it carefully. We aren't random thugs who are doing evil for the sake of evil. We are people who dream of a better world for everyone on this planet."
Spinner added, "Yeah, everyone in this room you see has his backstory which is tragic."
Compress nodded, "Of course, all of us are people who were suffocated by the heroes. The only thing we want is a place where we are accepted like everyone else."
Kamakiri glared, "Fuck you, bitches. Just because you gave in to your hatred, doesn't mean I will. The difference between us is that we both looked at the abyss, but you blinked when it looked back at us." Spinner mumbled something about a Batman reference.
Rex growled, "This isn't hate. This is doing what is right for mutants like us. fighting for our rights. Fighting for the little man who gets…"
"And crusty over there cares about mutants like us or the little man," Kamakiri signaled to Shigaraki, "You think he cares? You believe his speech that Stain appointed him as his successor? Anyone with a few brain cells can tell that he doesn't follow Stain's ideology. Who within their right mind attacks a camp full of children and kidnaps one to better shape hero society? Did Stain do that?"
Himiko pouts a bit, "But how are we going to seem legit if we don't have a hero student join us?"
Kamakiri glares at her, "How the fuck am I supposed to know? You can go and play freedom fighter for all I care, but leave me out of your crazy nonsense."
Dabi scowls, "This is entertaining, kid." He walked to the bar, "But what is your plan to avenge your father? Join them from the inside and expose them. they'll kill you before you can."
Shigaraki came in, "Think about it. With us, you can do just that." he hooked his hand around the boy's neck who growled at him, "All those involved with your father's death will be on the floor begging you for mercy. All of us here were rejected by society. You'd fit right…"
"Keep that thought to yourself." The boy hissed, "I'd never fit with the likes of you."
"I follow my personal motto," Kamakiri said, "I believe that if I perform a small act of kindness, the world as a whole will grow more beautiful. If I join you, I'd be spitting in the face of everything I stand for. I admit that I'm a hothead who might butt heads with people if he gets too excited or if he feels someone reminds him of his past. I might have slipped a couple of times and bullied some people because of my past. I admit I made mistakes throughout my life, but I always stuck to the things I believe in. Yes, I'm angry at what happened in my past, but I will never ditch my beliefs. Through my time at UA, I met people who have seen hells worse than mine. I met people who never faltered in the face of adversity. People who were always put down, but never gave up. People who I dismissed, but their sheer determination to do what's right made me respect them. "
Dabi groaned, "You gotta be kidding me, kid. Do you believe yourself as some sort of savior? The perfect person to give mutants their rights? Get real."
Kamakiri rolled his eyes, "I'm no perfect person. I did horrible stuff… not as horrible as you clowns, but still horrible, but I try to learn from my mistakes. Your way of dealing with things is the worst thing I can do. you want me to follow the logic of an eye for an eye. This will destroy everything that is because no one will be left behind to see me standing, so no, I'm still not interested in your offer, no matter what sob story you give. Each of us decided what path we would take the moment we were faced with adversity. I already chose mine."
Kamakiri stares deep into Shigaraki's eyes, "Go. Do your worst. I won't stop. Nothing you do will make me join your little league, because I'm a hero-in-training who has a plan to make the world a better place so a small child doesn't have to see his father get killed by an angry racist mob."
The two had a stare-down before Tomura scoffed and walked away for a bit so Muscular smiled, "Given that the brat refused to join, can I squash his head like a pumpkin?"
Dabi rolled his eyes, "Calm down, muscle-head. this was the first round. We have a couple of nights to make him change his mind." He looked at the TV, "Plus if nothing works, we can make a good Nomu out of him. The doctor seemed interested in his quirk."
Kamakiri gulped and began to look around to see if there was a way out of this.
He tried another time to activate his quirk, but nothing came out of it.
Shigaraki came another time, "So, there's nothing we have to offer for you."
Togaru snarled at him, "Nothing at all. Whatever you have, you can shove it up your ass."
Toga whined, "But we're both alike. We can both make people bleed…"
Kamakiri sweat-dropped, 'What does that have to do with anything?'
Shigaraki then said, "Watch this then. After this, you'll want to join us."
Back with Aizawa and Vlad, they were readying themselves for the interview with the press. UA didn't hold a press conference because they were still trying to process what happened back at the training camp. It wasn't every day that a group of villains managed to borrow their way into a hidden training camp and attack a bunch of students. Furthermore, it wasn't every day they managed to kidnap a student for whatever purpose they had in mind.
Vlad looked at Aizawa, "Are you ready for this? we're about to be grilled by the press." He looked at his phone a bit, "There's going to be international agencies too. They're like sharks. When they smell blood, they swarm their prey and rip them apart."
Aizawa nodded, "Tell me about it. That's why I prefer to be an underground hero." He stopped for a moment, "But are you ready? It was your student who was kidnapped. I know how you feel about your students. You treat them like how a father would treat his own children."
Vlad gave him a thumbs-up, "Don't worry about me. This isn't the first time where I danced with the press," he rubbed his forehead, "but this time, it's going to be a bloodbath."
Aizawa hummed in agreement, "Yeah, but whatever happens Vlad, don't allow them to get under your skin. They'll try to do that because they want you to slip up. If you do, you'll be the headline for weeks." Vlad nodded and walked with Aizawa to the door of the changing room.
Once they left the room, they met up with Nezu. Once all three heroes were together, they made their way to the conference room. The three entered the room and were quickly assaulted by flashes of cameras almost blinding the three men. Aizawa grumbled under his breath about this being the very reason why is an underground hero.
Once the three men were seated, the conference began with the three men standing up and bowing for their failure to protect the students from the villains for everyone in the world to see.
Aizawa began speaking, "I regret to inform everyone that our unpreparedness caused the campsite which was supposed to be a haven for hero students to train their quirks and get better trained into a horrible night where they all fought for their survival."
Vlad carried on, "Though as an institution for training heroes, we are still responsible for the injured students that got caught in the crossfire during the attack. We were negligent in our defenses against the villains which caused this to happen."
Nezu finished, "We understand this made many people feel uncomfortable, so that's why we extend our sincerest apologies. This shouldn't have happened and we'll make sure that something like this never happens again."
The three men continued to speak for a bit before Nezu said, "We are receiving questions now."
A reporter stood up and began, "I'm a reporter from NHA. This villain attack is considered the fourth villain attack on UA, but this time a couple of students were injured. Tell us in concrete terms what measures you have taken to prevent this from happening again."
Many whispers arose from the reporters agreeing with the NHA reporter.
Nezu replied, "We acknowledge this, so that's why we increased the security measures around UA and its infrastructures from the USJ to the main building," Nezu then pressed his paws together, "and we explained to the parents that our stance against villainy will guarantee their children's safety." Few murmurs arose with reporters questioning what Nezu said.
Another reporter stood and didn't introduce himself. He only looked at Eraserhead, "Mr. Eraser, I heard from my sources that you authorized the children to use their quirks during the attack. Do you have any reasonable explanation to explain what you did?"
Aizawa kept calm and replied, "At the time, that was the best course of action." Eraserhead took a sip of water and continued, "And as you can see, it helped reduce the number of injuries to a bare minimum. And regarding the injured students, all of them are right now with their parents."
The reporter asked, "Kept the injuries to a minimum? What about Izuku Midoriya? The student who doctors said that his arms seemed that have been put through a grinder. What do you say about that? what about Kyoka Jiro, Manga Fukidashi, and Neringeki Shoda who were all poisoned? Do you see 4 injured students as some kind of achievement?"
Aizawa's eyebrow twitched, but he remained calm, "although every injury that happened in this camp is going to be a nightmare that will haunt me until I die, I see this as an achievement because it could have been worse. A couple of students could have died. A couple of heroes could have died, but everything went right. As for the injured students, each had their circumstances. Midoriya was injured because he was being attacked by a particularly strong villain. As for the others, they were in the forest when the poisonous gas was spread, but said villain was caught."
Nezu chimed in, "Yes, it was due to the fast thinking of Izuku Midoriya, Itsuka Kendo, and Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu that the injuries and the cases of gas poisoning were kept to a low number."
The reporter retorted, "As wonderful as that is, what do you have to say about Togaru Kamakiri?" he looked at Vlad King, "He's your student, isn't he, Vlad King?"
Vlad nodded as the reporter carried on, "What do you say about his kidnapping?"
Vlad replied something he memorized by heart, "We're working around the hour to save him."
The reporter replied, "Do you have any idea why did they kidnap him? Did he show any signs that he had villainous tendencies to make them kidnap him?"
A vein made its way to Vlad's forehead quickly, "What are you getting at?"
The reporter answered, "What I mean is why would the villains kidnap him unless they have prepared something for him? What if they're planning to make him join them? did you know that his father a decade ago went crazy one night and attacked the village he was living in, tried to kill his family, burnt down his house, and killed a couple of people? how do we know that his son isn't walking in his footsteps of flipping faces?"
The man's question was enough to make Vlad's body tense. Aizawa looked at him and mentally prayed that the huge man didn't do anything rash, 'Don't do it, Vlad. Stay calm. He wants this.'
Vlad stood up and replied, "Listen here, I'm only gonna say this once." All the reporters looked at Vlad while the man who asked him the question smirked at getting a reaction out of the hero, "Kamakiri is one of my best students. He might have an attitude problem sometimes, but he's not someone who will go to the villain's side. Plus, your story and correlation of Kamakiri and his father are based on shoving a father's sins on his offspring. I can assure you that Kamakiri will have only one future. That future is a hero's future. Nothing else."
The reporter didn't seem convinced, "That's nice and all, but what proof do you have?"
Nezu answered this, "As I said before, as we speak an investigation that I'm personally organizing is looking for the whereabouts of Togaru Kamakiri. Rest assured he will be returned home."
Back with Togaru, the boy watched the interview as Shigaraki asked, "See how they turned against you? Those people who you want to save are now blaming you for things that only exist in their imagination. For things that never happened. Like your dear old dad who died saving his family." He could feel the boy tense up, "How can you work with the same people who forged everything to make your father look like a villain instead of the hero he is?"
Spinner replied, "The moment the heroes start receiving payment for saving aren't heroes."
Dabi added, "That's what was Stain all about. He wanted heroes to do their job properly."
The other villains began to add their own thoughts to the conversation until Tomura finished, "What we're saying is a single question? What is a hero? What is justice?" he extended his hand toward Togaru, "So, what do you think now? Will you join us?"
Togaru didn't reply to the question. He simply used his hand to give Shigaraki the middle finger.
Shigaraki frowned, "Well, that's rude, but I guess you won't join our side now, will you?"
Togaru growled, "No, fuck you."
Tomura was about to say something, but a sudden knock on the door made him stop, "Pizza here."
Twice then yelled, "Who the hell ordered pizza/ I've been waiting for it forever now."
The man went to the door to open it only for a huge fist to come through it. All Might made his way into the room with a huge smile on his face, "I'm here for young Kamakiri."
The man quickly grabbed the confined boy and destroyed the chair Kamakiri was confined to along with the cuffs. Kamakiri summoned a small blade from his finger making him smile, "You clowns are so dead right now."
Dabi tried to act quickly, and so did Muscular, but a kick from Gran Torino and a punch from All Might managed to put both villains out of commission for now.
Suddenly tree branches came from the hole All Might left capturing all the villains as Kamui Woods came through, "I hope I'm not bothering anyone."
All Might smiled, "Good work, young Woods. You did a mighty fine job."
Tomura looked at Kurogiri and yelled, "Kurogiri, warp us out of here with the kid." The shadow nodded and began to shift, but suddenly he coughed violently before he was knocked out for good.
Toga yelled, "What did you do to Kurogiri?" the shadow man was slumped over on the table. Something came out of him and reformed into a man wearing ninja attire.
Edgeshot answered her, "Don't worry about your friend. I just missed with his insides for a bit."
All Might let go of Muscular's unconscious body, "I am happy to see that you're alright young Kamakiri." The man put his hand on the boy's shoulder, "This experience must have been terrifying to you, but worry not, because we are here to free you."
The boy nodded, "I wouldn't say terrifying, because I was mostly out, but it was annoying."
All Might laughed, "As long as you're fine, I'm happy. Now, let's get you out of here."
Tomura got angry, "What do you think you're doing? Who gave you the right to do this? it's because of trash like you, everyone acts like idiots. Everyone acts like there's nothing wrong in the world and worships self-entitled morons."
Torino replied, "Don't act like you're some revolutionary. We know all about you and your little gang." Gran began naming them, "Himiko Toga, Kenji Hikiishi, Atsuhiro Sako, Shuichi Iguchi, Jin Bubaiguwara, and Arata Kemono. This is the end of the line for you. We know all of your names with a little investigation. There's no way out of here. And even if you do, well…"
Outside the raid, Endeavor was yelling at the detective, "Why are the hell I am here while that muscle head is leading the charge?"
The detective replied, "Because if someone managed to slip through, you'll be there to give them the beating of a lifetime." This seemed to make the hero hum in agreement.
Back with All Might, the man looked at Tomura, "Tomura Shigaraki, your days of villainy are officially over. Do you have any last words before you're sent to the slammer?"
The grey-haired man remained silent, but Torino asked, "Where is your boss? Where is he hiding?"
Tomura stared at them as he remembered his past. The man was shaking in anger, "This wasn't supposed to happen. This isn't... this isn't… this isn't right…"
"No one came for you," A man spoke to a young Tomura who was sitting in an alleyway, "A hero will come and help you. This is what they said, didn't they?"
"All Might, this is your fault," Shigaraki's muscles tensed as a face of absolute hatred manifested under his mask, "You're the reason why everything is wrong in this world."
All Might ignored his ramblings, "Tell me, under what rock is he hiding?"
"I…" Shigaraki began to speak as Nomus suddenly appeared behind him from some kind of gooey black liquid, "…hate you, All Might." The Nomu's appearance took everyone by surprise.
Edgeshot yelled, "Nomus. Everyone, be careful." He used one of his threads to pierce one, "How did this happen? Kurogiri is still out cold."
Torino replied, "Focus on the monsters now." He then noticed more Nomus coming out of the goo, "And what the hell is this black goo?" he kicked another Nomu in the face.
Shigaraki began laughing, "Do you see it now? This is the future of your pathetic society. To be taken and destroyed." He then yelled, "Master, lend me your power."
All Might looked at Kamui Woods, "Stay alert, young Woods. We must prevent him from…" The hero was cut off by the younger hero yelling, "All Might, what is happening to the kid?"
He looked only to see Kamakiri being engulfed by some black gooey liquid coming from his mouth.
The blond hero reached out to him, but he suddenly disappeared, "Young Kamakiri" the hero looked at Shigaraki, "Where did you take young Kamakiri?"
The villain smiled as he was engulfed by the same black gooey substance along with the other villains shocking the heroes completely.
Woods yelled, "Endeavour, we need your help…" he looked in the direction of the flame hero only to see the man was engaging Nomus who were appearing out of nowhere while the detective was trying to reach Best Jeanist.
All Might looked at Torino, "This must be his work. I have to go and face him."
Torino nodded, "I didn't expect him to have the ability to warp people away."
All Might was about to head toward the second site when he was tackled by a couple of Nomus.
The monsters tried to stop the hero, but he yelled, "Oklahoma Smash" The hero raised his fist and spun around throwing the Nomus off him in different directions.
He then walked outside. He looked at the flame hero who finished off another Nomu, "Endeavour do you think you can take the lead from here?"
The flame hero growled, "Do you need glasses in your old age? What does it look like?"
All Might nodded and Endeavour said, "If you need to leave, then leave. I can handle everything from here." The flame here then blasted another Nomu to kingdom come.
All Might then jumped away toward the second site hoping to reach his nemesis in time.
A couple of minutes before with the rescue squad, the team of 8 teens managed to shake off a couple of drunk workers who were trying to seduce Pony, Ibara, and Momo to go with them.
Momo looked at the tracking device, "This signal is becoming stronger. The place we're looking for is here." The girl pointed at a gate in front of an empty factory.
Kirishima put his hand on the gate and shook it, "It's closed. Do you think there's another way around to enter this factory so we…" he was slapped upside the head by Kuroiro, "What the heck was that for man?" the boy rubbed the assaulted spot with a pout.
"Did you lose your marbles? If we go inside, we'll be creamed." Kuroiro chastised the boy who nodded in agreement, "Also, follow me. There must be a way from the back."
The teens found a narrow passageway and entered it with Pony saying, "Damn it. It feels like my body is about to be crushed. Are we going to get out of here soon?"
The team kept moving forward until Ibara noticed something, "Look, there's a window up there."
Shoto hummed, "I guess we found where they are hiding Kamakiri, but we still need to know who's inside to see how we can free him."
Pony said, "I can float up there using my horns to see what's going inside that place."
Ibara asked, "But wouldn't it be too dark inside for you to see?" the horse girl nodded, "How about Kuroiro go inside and take a lot around?" everyone looked at the boy who nodded.
The boy took a step toward the building when a shiver ran through his spine. He didn't know why, but he felt like death was waiting for him if entered this building, "I can't go inside. I don't know why, but it feels like death is waiting for me. I can sense a very strong yet calm aura coming from inside. it feels like death personified."
Everyone looked oddly at him, but Ibara sighed and used her vines to lift everyone to the window, "What are you guys seeing?"
Momo complained, "It's just too dark to see! I'm going to make a couple of nighttime goggles."
Kirishima stops her, "There's no need for that. I have a special camera that will help us see what's going inside there." once he puts on the camera, his face goes pale like a sheet of paper.
"You guys have to see this," he hands the camera to Iida.
The engine boy raises an eyebrow, "Why do you look like you saw a ghost?" once he looked through it, he knew who his friend seemed shaken. Inside the factory was an entire Nomu factory.
"There's a dozen Nomu inside there," Iida manages to wheeze out in a strangled breath.
Shoto took the night camera from Iida, "I guess we found the Nomu factory, not Kamakiri's location." He understood why Kuroiro hesitated in entering this place.
Momo gulped, "I think we should leave if Kamakiri isn't here. We'd be risking our lives by staying."
Pony nodded as Shoto looked at Ibara and signaled for her to lower them down. the vine-haired girl did that, but Kirishima said, "Guys, wait. We can't turn back. If we sneak inside there, we might find a clue where they are holding Kamakiri."
Shoto shook his head, "Kirishima, your heart is in the right place. I know you want to make it up for class 1-B because of what happened during the exams, but if we go in there, there is no guarantee we might get out." He patted the red-haired boy's back, "We did what we can let's go back now."
Juzo nodded, "Yeah, man. We're grateful that you went out of your way to save our classmate, but this is the best we can do. We need to fall back because we're going to be in a world of trouble if someone finds out that we came here."
Kirishima looked at Pony and Ibara who nodded in agreement with the others making the boy sigh, "I guess you're right. There's nothing we can do any…" the boy was cut off when they heard a crashing sound coming from the factory's direction, "What the hell was that?"
Ibara poked her head and smiled, "The heroes are here. Look" The others came and saw Mt Lady, Gang Orca, Tiger, and Best Jeanist walking into the Nomu factory as Jeanist said, "The infiltration was a success."
Before the All Might started the attack, Mt Lady, Gang Orca, Tiger, and Best Jeanist stood before the factory. Mt lady whined, "Damn it, why wasn't I with the main squad?"
Best Jeanist replied, "Focus, young lady. We have to concentrate. We'll get the signal of attack any moment now." The heroes and police officers were getting ready when the signal arrived, "Now."
Mt Lady grabbed a car and smashed it into the factory making Best Jeanist say, "Was that required?" The man entered the factory with the others and began to recover the horrors.
A few moments later, Best Jeanist had many Nomus captured by his quirk; his quirk's name is Fiber which allowed him to control fibers. "The infiltration was a success."
Kirishima smiled, "Would you look at that? the heroes are here. I guess they were working around the clock. There was no need for us to be here."
Iida sighed in relief, "Given the heroes had this covered. in that case, let's leave."
Back with the heroes at the Nomu factory, Mt Lady complained, "Doesn't feel a little odd that a place of such importance to the villains was without security? This seems a bit too easy." She sighed, "I should have gone with All Might's squad instead."
Best Jeanist replied, "You must know there is a difference between difficult and important."
Gang Orca looked at a Nomu he was holding and asked, "Are those things really alive?"
Tiger replied, "No, I don't think that they fit our definition of being alive," the feline-themed hero shivered a bit imagining being like this, "And if they are alive, killing them is doing them a favor." The other heroes at the scene nodded in agreement.
Back with the students, Pony said, "See, they have everything under control, so we can leave now." The girl finished with a bounce in her feet.
Ibara agreed, "Besides, they said there was a team headed by All Might. This means he must have saved Kamakiri by now, so we must leave this place before we get in trouble."
The teens were about to leave when they heard movement coming from the wreckage.
With the heroes, they all tensed up when an ominous voice made its way to them, "Please, Tiger. Don't diss my comrade's work on those Nomus. He worked very hard on them."
The heroes looked at the darkness as Orca yelled, "No another step." He looked at the officers, "Could someone use a light to see who we are dealing with?"
"Ever since I have been crippled," The new arrival spoke, "I haven't been able to stock up on…" he took a step into the light, but Best Jeanist captured him.
Mt Lady yelled, "Best Jeanist, what if he was a civilian? The media will tear us a new…"
"Use your mind. What kind of civilian resides inside a Nomu factory?" the fiber hero chastised her, "Plus even if he is, you can't let your guard down because the villains will use it to their advantage." The hero tightened his hold on the mystery person.
Once he was in the light, the heroes saw he was a man wearing a fine-looking suit, but what made the chills travel down their spine was the mask he was wearing. It looked like it was an industrial complex that helped him breathe, but it had a skull design.
The man laughed, "Such wise words, Best Jeanist." The man moved his hand a little, "But in the face of overwhelming force, all precautions are useless." The man let out of his hand a burst of energy that destroyed everything around them.
In the aftermath of the attack, the figure was floating in the air, "Young Tomura has just begun to learn. I can't have you hindering him." the man chuckled, "So, let's begin."
Behind the factory, the students were horrified at what happened. Kirishima was holding his breath, 'Who in the world is that guy? He destroyed everything with one attack. He could kill us all in one move. Did I guide everyone to their death?' the boy's mind was beginning to fill with images of him and the others dead swimming in a pool of their own blood.
With the heroes, the man looked around and saw the heroes were simply knocked out. He began to clap looking at Best Jeanist, "I'm impressed, number 4 hero. I wanted to blast them to hell, but you used your quirk to save them. I repeat what I said; I'm quite impressed."
Best Jeanist looked at him and remembered the talk about a mastermind behind Tomura.
The hero coughed violently, 'He must be the mastermind behind. His strength is on par with All Might.' The hero tried to restrain him once again but got blasted in the gut leaving a hole as a result. 'What kind of strength is that?'
The villain approached him, "I would take your quirk, but it requires years of training." The villain sighed, "It also wouldn't fit with young Tomura's plans."
The villain looked to the side as a black goo began to appear. Out of it, Kamakiri fell out, "What the hell is this?" the boy complained spitting at the ground. When he looked up, his entire body went rigid. The boy gulped, "I guess you're the mastermind behind Crusty. The big bad behind the scenes."
"Yes, I am, but apologies for such a rude welcome," the man said when suddenly Kamakiri saw different black gooey masses appear behind him depositing the villains.
Kamakiri saw that the only saving grace was that three of them were unconscious.
The villain looked at Tomura, "You failed again, young Tomura, but don't worry. You can try another time, so don't lose faith. That's why I saved you and your little band of misfits." he pointed to Kamakiri, "I've also brought the pawn you wanted here."
The boy bowed down, "Thank you for the opportunity, Sensei."
The man smiled, "Of course, young Tomura. All of this is for you."
With the students, Pony's eyes widened, 'They want to make him into a villain. That's insane. He might be rude and a little bully, but he isn't a bad person. They'd have better luck trying to convince Midoriya to stop loving All Might.' The girl tried to move, but Juzo grabbed her hand and stopped her shaking his head.
Every one of the students seemed one step away from throwing up from fear. Their fear skyrocketed when the villain said, "I knew that you'd come here."
The students thought he was talking about them until a yell made them understand who he was talking to in reality.
"AFO" All Might yelled descending from the sky, "I came here to take everything you've taken from me." The hero tried to punch AFO, but the villain caught his fists.
The villain faced All Might, "Here to kill me again, All Might?"
The students were in shock. The villain was holding the number 1 hero back with his bare hands. Who in the world was that guy?
AFO laughed a little as he held back All Might, "Are you getting old, All Might? I thought you'd come here sooner. How about you put away the cape and stay home?"
All Might pushed back against the villain, "I can say the same thing about you. Aren't getting too old for this demon lord shtick? And what's the industrial mask? Having trouble breathing nowadays?"
The force of the two pushing against each other was so strong that it created winds that threw away everyone near them. The hero students used the wall they were hiding behind to protect themselves from being flung around.
Kamakiri stood up from the ground and shook his head in disbelief, 'What the fuck? Did he stop All Might's attack with his bare hands? This simply isn't possible.'
All Might looked at AFO, "I won't make the same mistake twice, AFO." The hero readied an attack and lunged at AFO, "and this time I will smash you into a prison cell along with your little league."
AFO laughed, "There seem to be quite a lot of things you have on your to-do list," the man's arm began to inflate as he directed it at All Might, "You and me both."
The man unleashed a huge blast of wind that threw All Might away. The hero crashed through several buildings as the villain laughed at his handy work, "Air cannon combined with springlike limbs in addition to being kinetically boosted by 4 and the strength enhanced by 3. It makes a fun combination." The villain looked at his hand, "But I always wanted to try more strength-based quirks."
Kamakiri yelled in worry, "All Might!"
The villain reassured him, "Don't fret, young man. All Might won't be killed by this. he survived way worse." The villain directed his attention to Tomura, "You need to go, young Tomura. Take young Kamakiri with you. We don't want you to lose him."
Magne stood up and shook his head, "Can you possibly use your quirk to teleport us away from here?" the villain pointed at Kurogiri, "Kurogiri over here is knocked out."
AFO's fingers began to split as tendrils appeared from them, "My quirk works only on short distances, but rest assured," the tendrils grew larger and pierced Kurogiri, "Kurogiri will be your escape route." The mist man opened a portal as AFO said, "Forced Quirk Activation has its uses."
AFO signaled Tomura to go, but the grey-haired man stood there, "But what about you, sensei?"
From the distance, All Might jumped from the rubble and landed near AFO. The hero attacked the villain, "You won't get away by using cheap tricks."
AFO replied to Tomura's question blocking All Might, "Young Tomura, you always have to be two steps ahead of your opponents. Now go…"
Compress used his quirk on Dabi and Muscular, "We need to go, Tomura."
AFO pushed All Might back and continued with his dialogue with Tomura, "…and take your pawn."
Kamakiri's eyes widened, "Yeah, not happening, tall dark, and creepy." The boy readied himself for a fight, "Now, let's see who wants to get a paper cut."
All Might looked at Kamakiri with worry, "Young Kamakiri" he then got blasted by AFO who said, "Don't get distracted, All Might."
Kamakiri spun around directing his blades causing 6 air blades to emit from different sections of his body, 'I have to be careful. The one I have to be careful of is the magician. One touch and I go back with him to the marble.' The boy ducked under Rex's hand and made a blade that pierced through the lizard man's skin, "Make sure to treat it. It might get infected."
Kamakiri dodged a knife attack from Toga before making a blade and swinging it at Mr. Compress causing an air blade to go right at the man who jumped away.
'I can't keep this up,' Kamakiri thought, 'This game of cat and mouse will end with me losing.'
All Might looked at his student and lunged forward to rescue him, but AFO laughed at him, "Didn't I tell you not to get distracted?" the villain used the tendrils again and stabbed All Might's back with them throwing the man away.
With the students, they were all frozen in fear, but they saw how Kamakiri was on the rope. In addition, All Might couldn't go all out with the boy there. they needed to find a way to rescue him without attracting attention to themselves.
Kirishima started, "We need to find a way to get Kamakiri out of there, or else All Might won't be able to stop the villain."
Iida started, "With all due respect, but how are you planning to pull this miracle off?"
The teens were silent, but Shoto had an idea, "I'll call Midoriya. He knows our quirks like the back of his hand. He might have an idea how to pull this off." He took out his phone and dialed Izuku's number. The others nodded, but they kept silent not wanting to attract the villain's attention.
With Izuku, the boy was having fun with his friends when all hell broke loose at Kamino Ward. It started with the raids being successful, but suddenly everything went south. The team responsible for destroying the Nomus was decimated by a new arrival that no one knew his identity, but Izuku knew who he was…
The villain was AFO. And he was stronger than Izuku expected. Setsuna leaned over and asked him, "Is that him? Is that AFO that All Might told us about?" the boy nodded as they continued to watch the fight with their friends. AFO then teleported Kamakiri and the villains to his location
All Might then arrived much to everyone's relief, but this relief was soon overcome when AFO single-handedly stopped All Might's attack with one hand. The reporters were all over it, "Who is this monster? He's holding back the symbol of peace with his hands."
The boy was in shock. He gulped and began to pray that All Might manages to defeat the villain and save Kamakiri who was currently fighting all of the LOV. The saving grace was that Muscular was out of the equation or the boy might have been defeated earlier.
Izuku was knocked out of his thoughts when his phone buzzed. Itsuka saw he was about to ignore it, but stopped him, "Midoriya, this might be your mother. my mom just called me. Reply to the call. She might be worried that you're somewhere there."
Izuku opened the phone and replied, "Hi, Mom. Don't worry about me. I'm not at…" The boy was cut off by a voice he didn't expect, "Midoriya, it's me, Todoroki. I know this might seem like a long order, but we're stuck close to the fight between All Might and that villain, and we need your help to save Kamakiri discreetly without attracting attention."
Izuku blinked a little and hissed, "You went there." the boy looked around, "Do you know how much trouble you're in right now? And wait… what do you mean by 'we'? who is with you?"
Kinoko asked, "What's wrong? Who are you arguing with?"
Izuku sighed, "Todoroki and Kirishima apparently went to save Kamakiri and are now stuck in the crossfire." Itsuka facepalmed in annoyance.
Shoto replied, "We're not the only ones there. we have Yaoyorozu, Iida, Juzo, Kuroiro, Tsunotori, and Shiozaki there with us." They could hear arguing on the other line, "Now, can you help us?"
The boy hummed and watched the fighting field before asking, "Where are you hiding?"
With the rescue team, Shoto answered Midoriya's question, "We're hiding behind a wall located at the rear of the factory or what used to be the factory."
Izuku went silent for a moment before saying, "Listen to what I have to tell you and do it precisely as I say. Don't try to improvise or else everything will go down the drain."
The teens nodded and listened to Midoriya's plan.
Kamakiri was busy fighting off the LOV. The boy was dodging attack after attack. Right now, he ducked under Compress's hand and used his quirk to pierce it making the man hiss in pain. The boy rolled away from a Magne who tried to grab him…
Suddenly, Kamakiri and the LOV were shocked to see a huge iceberg form in the middle of the place. 'First Honenuki will soften the wall separating you from the fight. Todoroki will then use his quirk to make a huge iceberg that will distract everyone.'
"Kamakiri, catch." The bug boy looked and Kuroiro traveling in the darkness of the night and throwing a gas mask at him, "What the?" Kamakiri then saw him throw something at the LOV.
it was a small canister that emitted some type of gas, so Kamakiri put the mask on quickly.
The villains began to cough violently as tears formed in their eyes. 'Yaoyorozu will make three things; a gas mask, an infrared goggle, and a tear gas canister. Kuroiro, you'll deliver the mask to Kamakiri and throw the canister at the villains.'
"What in the world is happening here?" Shigaraki yelled in frustration
Kamakiri looked around to find a way to run away when he felt something lifting him in the air. He looked down and saw Pony's horns carrying into the air, 'Tsunotori'
The boy then looked and saw something in the air. As he got closer, the image began to become clearer; it was Shiozaki and the engine jerk from class 1-A, "What the hell are you doing here?" the girl didn't reply as she grabbed Kamakiri with her vines and pulled him closer. 'Tsunotori will use the goggles to see where Kamakiri is and extract him. Finally, Shiozaki and Iida will do the final rescue. Shiozaki will tie Iida close to her using her vines. He'll then use his engines with the help of Tsunotori's horns to rocket themselves high into the air using Todoroki's iceberg where the villains can't reach them. when Kamakiri is in range, Shiozaki will use her vines to bring him closer.'
By the time the villains regained their bearings, Kamakiri was already long gone with the rest of the rescue squad who left the area once they made sure Kamakiri was fine.
Tomura looked around, "What the hell happened here? Where is the boy? Did he escape?"
Magne replied, "The little bastards got us good. I think we might be able to catch on if we…" The villain was knocked out when a blur kicked his face. The same blur then dealt with Twice and Spinner, before moving on to take out Compress.
Rex frowned, "We need to fall back. We're being swatted like flies." The lizard man was kicked in the neck and got knocked out
"I don't think so, brat." Gran Torino said arriving at the scene.
All Might looked at him, "You sure took your sweet time coming here."
Torino replied, "Stop being stupid. You're just too fast."
AFO saw Gran Torino and said, "Ah, you're Shimura's friend… haven't you kicked the bucket already?"
Gran Torino fumed, "Those damned brats. They put their lives at risk. I'm sure your crazy successor was with them. he's going to get it when I see him next time."
All Might thought to himself, 'I never imagined young Midoriya coming here, but…' the man looked at his opponent with a hard glare, 'there's no need to hold back anymore.'
In the distance, Ibara and Iida landed with Kamakiri in front of Pony who flopped to the ground saying, "This was a little bit exhausting, but I did it. We saved you, Kamakiri-kun."
Ibara smiled at her friend's happiness, "Yes. It was also a good thing the media was too busy with All Might's fight to notice our escape." The girl shivered at the repercussions of what they did reached their homeroom teachers. Well, she was sure Vlad would go easy on them, but Aizawa…
The less said the better…
The man would skin them alive as an example for all idiots who would pull stunts like these.
The horse girl hugged the boy making him blush a little, but he coughed into his hand, "Look, I know you're happy, but we need to get away from here."
The teens nodded and quickly escaped the ruined area.
Back in the destroyed area, All Might pointed at AFO, "Now, I will pound you to dust."
Gran Torino then said, "You deal with him. I'll take care of the rest of the LOV."
The man sped toward the Toga and Shigaraki to finish them off, but he was forced to move to the side as AFO used his tendrils to stab Magne's chest.
The villain then said, "Forced Quirk Activation; Magnetism." The men were suddenly engulfed in a red aura while Toga was engulfed in a blue one. The villains were sent flying toward Toga who was standing near Kurogiri's portal with Tomura.
The male villains collided with Toga who was thrown inside the mist villain's portal. Tomura tried to stay, but he was getting sucked in, "Master, wait. Let me help you. With your body, you can't…"
AFO replied, "Going on, you will continue the war, young Tomura." With one final push, the grey-haired man was consumed by the portal followed by Kurogiri.
All Might growled, "You bastard, there won't no more wars when I'm finished with you." All Might charged at the villain with a punch, but the villain proved to be crafty.
AFO smiled under his mask, "Impact Recoil and Teleportation" Before All Might's fist could meet its target, the villain teleported Gran Torino in front of him. The old man was then hit by All Might who quickly pulled him out of the black goo and apologized.
"If it's a fight you want, I'll humor All Might," the man stood up, "I only came here to save young Tomura, but I can't help detesting you above all…" the man reminisced, "There was a time when my allies were strong, but then you came and hunted them like their animals crushing them under your fists. Taking away all the hard work we put into this society. And after all that, they called you the symbol of peace."
The man asked All Might, "Tell me, hero, how does it feel being at the top?"
All Might readied another attack, "Detroit Smash"
AFO met the attack directly which caused a huge wave of pressure to appear from the force of the attack, but the force was so strong that it ripped apart the left hand of All Might's suit.
AFO smiled, "You still can't go all out, can you?" the villain chuckled, "Because you heroes have so many precious things you need to protect."
All Might yelled, "Shut up," the hero grabbed AFO's hand and twisted it before punching AFO in the face destroying his mask, "That's what you do. You toy with people's emotions."
The hero's punch caused a huge crater with AFO in the middle of it, "You steal from them. you lie to them. you sneer at them when they're trying to live a normal life. That's why I can't forgive you ever."
When the smoke from the attack dissipated, AFO's face was revealed to All Might. AFO's face seemed to be nothing but scar tissue with a mouth at the bottom.
All Might himself then felt something. He looked and saw smoke coming off him. In fact, his right side already reverted to normal, 'This… my time limit is already up.'
AFO chuckled from his place on the ground, "It seems you're getting emotional, All Might," the hero growled at him, "though I swore I heard this line before. Wait… I remember. Didn't your predecessor say that? Nana Shimura?"
AFO then blasted All Might into the air. The hero was about to smash into a helicopter, but Gran Torino saved him, "Damn it, All Might. He's using the same tactic he used 6 years ago. Don't dance to his tunes. He knows what hurts you, so don't get carried away."
The hero nodded as Gran carried on, "The tactics and quirks he's using are nothing like before. You can't beat him in a head-on fight. You need to be smarter than him to win."
The hero hummed in agreement as Torino said, "You need to go past your limit. As long as you can push yourself, you need to keep on fighting. It's a do-or-die fight."
People from all around Japan were watching worry as All Might struggled fighting a villain. He seemed beat up and tired. For once, they weren't sure if he was going to win.
AFO laughed, "Pity, young Tomura worked so hard to ruin people's trust in heroes only for me to come and deliver the final nail into its coffin."
He then turned to All Might, "And by the way All Might, I hate you as much as you hate me. I might have killed you mentor but you destroyed everything I worked for, so I always wanted to see you die a horrible death." His arm then inflated as he said, "Tell me, All Might. Can you afford to dodge this attack or not?"
The hero was confused. AFO wasn't aiming at him. he knew something was wrong. He looked behind him and saw a woman trapped under rubble.
The moment AFO unleashed his attack, All Might jumped in front of it protecting the woman, but he was getting pushed back by the attack until finally, an explosion of force caused the entire place to be covered by smoke.
AFO laughed as the smoke began to dissipate, "I'll take everything you protect. I'll start first by destroying your image," when the smoke cleared, it relieved All Might's true form, "and then your pride by revealing how of a pathetic man you are."
"Let the world see who is their symbol of peace," AFO declared, "Nothing but a shriveled old man."
Cameras began to zoom in on All Might.
With the rescue squad, they were watching the fight in safety. They were shocked at the revelation, "I can't believe this! is that really All Might?!" Kamakiri asked in shock.
With Izuku, the boy was in shock that his mentor's true form was revealed. Setsuna held his hand because she was worried as much as he was, 'Please, All Might. Pull through this like you always do.'
Back with All Might, the hero looked at his opponent who was mocking him, "Look at those hollow cheeks and sunken eyes… the top hero is looking a bit blue today. Don't feel ashamed about your true form, All Might." AFO faced All Might who stood in front of him defiantly, "I see… you still have some fight left in you."
All Might wheezed out, "My body may wither… you might expose me to the world." the hero clenched his fist, "But my spirit is still strong as ever, and you can't destroy that whatever you do. It isn't my image that made me the symbol of peace, but it's my spirit."
"Hmm, so impressive, All Might. Let's put your theory to the test," the villain raised a finger, "You say your spirit can't be destroyed, but I know something that will have you on the ground weeping." The villain then revealed something, "Tomura Shigaraki is Nana Shimura's grandson."
The whole world came to a halt as All Might heard those words.
"Ahh, yes. All those encounters you had with him were engineered to make him hate you even though he already hated you plenty. All those times you won with a smile… if you only knew…" AFO said with a smile of his own, "And don't think I'm lying because this is the type of thing I'd do." he then put his fingers on his face and tried to make a smile, "Where is that smile, All Might?"
All Might remembered what his master used to do. How she used to do the same thing to cheer him on. How she used to tell him to smile in the face of adversity.
The man growled, "How… dare… you… mock… her…" The hero clenched his fist, 'My master's family… what have I done? This can't be…'
While the hero was spiraling deeper into self-doubt, he heard a voice calling out to him, "Don't stop, All Might." He looked behind him to see the woman he saved, "You can beat him."
The hero looked at her. He saw her belief in him inside her eyes. The man began to feel everyone's cheers for him. calling on him to keep fighting on. The hero smiled, "Of course, young lady."
Suddenly, All Might's body began to spark. Electricity covered him as his right speed reinflated once again, "There are many things that heroes like me need to protect, so I can't lose, AFO."
'If you ever feel you're at your limit, remember why you swing your fists,' All Might recalled his mentor's words, 'Remember where you started. Remember your origins.'
The hero recalled when he was a small child trying to impress his father.
A teenage All Might stood before Nana Shimura, "I want to become a symbol."
The woman raised an eyebrow, "A symbol, you say? That's quite a crazy thing to say."
The teenager shook his head, "The people in this country need something to make them hopeful. That's why the crime rate is up. It's because they don't have someone to believe in. I want to become a symbol of peace. Someone who people know that he will protect them no matter what."
Gran stared at him in worry, 'You can still move! I'm shocked, but your body is unstable.'
"With all your might…" AFO started, "Let's finish our dance once and for all."
"I still remember your face after I ripped your guts, but you then came and smashed my face into paste," the villain floated into the air, "I still have nightmares to this day."
The villain readied his arm to attack All Might, "You might still have some punches so…" the villain felt a sudden rise in temperature making him turn to the side only for him to counter a wave of flames.
All Might looked and saw Endeavour yelling at him, "What's wrong with you, All Might?"
AFO on the other hand seemed impressed by Endeavour's arrival, "It appears you dealt with my Nomus. Even though they were mid-tier, I expected to stall you longer. I guess this is what I should have expected from the number 2 hero."
Back at the bar, the detective was wrapping up the capture of the Nomus.
Endeavor ignored AFO and yelled at All Might, "Explain to me, All Might! What is this pathetic form of yours?" the hero remembered everything he did in pursuit of becoming the number one hero only for All Might to turn out to be nothing, but a frail old man.
AFO grew bored of this, so he aimed to attack them, "If you're here to cheer him on, you can die with him." the villain's attack was interrupted when Edgeshot attacked him.
"Not so fast, destroyer," The ninja yelled, "we're here to do some saving."
All Might looked around him and saw heroes saving people and the fallen heroes from the Nomu factory raid.
Endeavor and Edgeshot began to attack AFO as other heroes told All Might to keep fighting. The blond hero was deeply touched by this. he looked at his old teacher who nodded at him.
All Might understood the message. He was still the number one hero. He still needed to fight.
Gran Torino stared at All Might remembering when Nana first told him about a young man who wanted to become a symbol of peace.
"What?" a younger Gran Torino asked his friend, "A symbol of peace?"
"Yes, that's what he said," Nana replied, "He said that the people of Japan need something to make them believe in hope. Toshinori Yagi, he's an interesting kid."
AFO groaned, "Enough of this foolishness." The villain blasted both Edgeshot and Endeavor away, "Hope this, spirit that. can we return to reality?" the villain grinned evilly, "Allow to show you what reality can do with your hope."
The villain's right arm began to mutate and grew larger, "Springlike limbs, four kinetic boosters, strength enhancers, a multiplier, hypertrophy, rivets, air walks, and spikes. The shock waves up until now were nothing but mere illusions to wear you out."
All Might looked at his nemesis. AFO's right arm was now larger. It was bulkier. It seemed harder and had spikes coming out of it, "In order to really kill you, I'll use my ultimate quirk combination, so here I come."
The villain lunged at All Might who readied himself to counter AFO.
'When we were trading blows earlier, I confirmed my suspicions regarding you. You don't have OFA anymore. You passed it on, didn't you?' AFO thought as he came closer, 'You're working on embers which are getting dimmer by the second.'
"Izuku Midoriya," AFO said shocking All Might, "he's your successor, isn't he? He came to you unqualified, but you somehow managed to make him somewhat decent. My congrats, but now he'll have to live with the guilt of seeing his teacher die on live air."
AFO and All Might then met each other. The combined force of their fists meeting caused the ground to shake and ripple with shock waves decimating the already decimated city block.
All Might smiled, "Don't worry about that. I'll still come victorious at the end to teach young Midoriya everything I know."
AFO began to push All Might back, 'You still have a small ember inside, but you refuse to let it go. You protecting it with your life. You desperately clinging to it to finish your job.'
'When you're at your limit, remember…' All Might recalled his master's words, 'Yes, I remember who I am more than a symbol. Just as my master stood by my side, I have to stand by young Midoriya's side until he's fully ready, so until then, I…' the hero blindsided AFO by transferring the power into his left arm and punching him in the face, '…refuse to die.'
"Stooping low, are we, All Might?" AFO mocked him, "Cheap tricks won't work on me."
All Might smirked remembering what his teacher told him about direct attacks with AFO.
AFO tried to punch All Might, but the hero dodged as the villain said, "Too weak." The villain raised his left arm which began to bulge out.
"That's because I haven't…" All Might charged at AFO using his right arm, "…put my back into it yet."
'This power was passed on from one person to another. In order to serve the greater good… in order to protect the weak. It's your turn now…' Nana Shimura's voice rang in All Might's head, 'Do your best, Toshinori.'
"Say goodbye," All Might yelled as his fist slammed into AFO's face, "ALL FOR ONE"
"UNITED STATES OF SMASH" All Might yelled slamming his opponent into the ground and causing a hurricane of dust to cover everything, 'Goodbye, One for all'
When the dust cleared, the news helicopters came closer to the scene. In the middle of the destruction, All Might stood over a defeated AFO.
The hero raised his right hand as a symbol of victory. He then buffed up one more time for everyone to see.
People from all over Japan began cheering for the hero's victory
A few minutes later, heroes were rescuing civilians still stuck under the rubble.
All Might looked at the police officers who were taking away AFO, but then noticed a camera crew coming close to him.
The hero then pointed with his finger at the camera and said, "It's your turn next."
To everyone in Japan, it seemed like a message for all heroes to pull their weight because All Might is gone, but someone knew better…
With Izuku, the boy was crying, but he then heard All Might's message, "It's your turn next."
The boy understood what he was saying. It was Izuku's turn to hold OFA. It was his turn to save the world from the clutches of AFO.
The boy felt someone grab his shoulder. He looked and saw Tokage smiling, "It's alright. I'll be there for you. You can let it out. No need to pretend to be strong." the boy looked at her confused, "It isn't wrong to cry, Izuchan. Let it out." The girl hugged him when he felt something wet trail down his face, "I'll always be there for you."
Japan just entered a new era. An era without All Might.

Welcome back to a new chapter of my story. In this chapter, we wrapped up the rescue arc. We saw Kamakiri's backstory and his reasoning for being a hero. I hope you like it. I worked hard on it; I am open to criticism if you want to make it more realistic or better. I also tackled some mutant discrimination issues in this chapter, so I am open to ideas to further dive into this issue in this fic. We also saw the rescue squad save Kamakiri. And finally, we finished the chapter with All Might vs AFO. The next chapter will focus on the repercussions of All Might's retirement or the effects, Izuku and Setsuna's first date (the best idea presented will be adopted into the story), and finally the announcement of the dorms.
