Origins: Wilder West

It was deathly quiet, which was unusual for an arena of this size. Filled with ramps, hoops, and mud it was perfect for driving stunts of all kinds. Abruptly, the silence was broken by the faint sound of an engine starting, followed by a garage door opening and the stadium lights snapping on. Above the open door was a sign with a sunset gradient over what looked to be a desert, with the word "YEEHAW" written on it. A rat rod, adorned with old western props slowly entered the pit, before coming to a stop. Its driver stared at the ramps, before slowly accelerating to the right to line up for a set of ramps.

The driver had black, scruffy hair and a beard that didn't even reach his neck. He wore an orange poncho, black pants, and brown shoes. Upon his head was a protective helmet with a sunset gradient painted on the back. He slightly adjusted the chin strap before placing his hand back on the shifter. He had to focus. He had a show coming up tomorrow night and he had to nail these stunts with his new upgrade. Hopefully a successful run through of the routine would calm his nerves.

'That new booster had better be a crowd pleaser, it cost too much' He thought as he put his car in drive. He took a deep breath and put his foot down, causing his engine to scream alive as his car struggled to find grip. After a few moments, he started moving faster and faster, no longer needing proper grip, as he approached the first ramp.

His front end tilted up, before his entire car left the ground, and flew through the hoop with ease before landing smoothly on the other side. Taking a slight left turn, he lined up with the next ramp, and pressed the gas even harder. As his car left the ground, he pressed the horn, as his routine specified. The large brass horns on the roof of his cat let out a "Moo" sound as he flew through the hoop and landed on the other side. The landing was too rough that time, so he knew he'd have to accelerate less next time.

He spun his car around to the right 270°, and stopped. The biggest ramp in the arena stood in front of him, and he knew that this part called for him to use his new rocket booster. Steeling himself, he began to accelerate, and pressed the red button on his console.

His entire car began to glow light blue, and his engine screamed like a banshee, as it began to arc with blue electricity. The thruster on the back of his car widened, as a huge blue flame burst from the thruster and his rear wheels caught fire. He advanced upon the large ramp, leaving a trail of orange flames in the dust.

He glanced down briefly to see his speedometer going over 300 mph before refocusing on the ramp in front of him, but the area in the hoop at the top seemed weirdly warped. Like trying to punch through thin plastic, and like thin plastic with too much pressure, it ripped open, only to reveal a purple portal, with green edges. Once the portal had opened, he was already soaring through the air, and upon touching the mysterious portal, the driver, his car, and the portal vanished in a flash of white light.

Origin 4 complete! Only 1 more character to introduce (for now...) before we get some proper explanations and some real driving. I'll probably finish the origins chapters before the end of this weekend. Until then, enjoy, have a good day, and I'll see you in the next chapter!
