altair95: Thanks. Yeah, they shared an actual conversation, one resembling a Lion and the other a Tiger. Kensei got to meet Kuroka and Bikou for the first time, the latter was terrified of his ancestor's disciple. Differing from before, Koneko showed her courage and the results of her training with them. It was the introduction of a new technique: Haki, which Kensei created.
shephawk: I could imagine that Odin's eyes would be on any woman, though with Amaterasu, I think he wouldn't want to step on that landmine. XD It would be a serious hint of growth for Koneko to do that to a God. But, I'd imagine that Rossweisse or Brynhildr would do that.
Gremory Team vs. Sitri Team
After the situation with Kuroka and Bikou was settled, Kensei escorted the trio consisting of Issei, Rias, and Koneko back to the approaching reinforcements. Handing them off to their group, he went off to his after a simple farewell with Koneko. He first found Claire arriving in front of him, with Lingqi and Maria right beside her wearing a casual smile.
"It seems as if things ended without much injuries," Claire said, though she was wearing a look full of simple distaste. "But, I don't think that I agree with a certain something. I'm not sure I should laugh or simply feel disgusted with the Sekiryuutei."
"And you even saw that," Kensei said, knowing that Claire wasn't in a close enough proximity to even see all that happened from such a far distance. "First, it was knowing where I was before I could even sense your approach and then it was knowing where Shirone was. Seriously, am I not going to know how you managed to do that, Claire?"
"Oh, I wonder," Claire asked, feigning innocent while looking around. But, Kensei could tell that Claire must have told everyone else about whatever she did. "Hehehe, fine, look."
Laughing to herself, Claire pointed at her eyes as she leaned forward, causing Kensei to look there. He could sense the demonic power in her, being sent there, then her eyes went through a unique change. All around Claire's iris, nine colorful tomoe manifesting, surprising Kensei as soon as it happened. It wasn't simply just a trick or a random chance, meaning that it could be one thing.
"A new demonic power?"
"You got it."
Claire replied as the tomoe vanished from her eyes.
"It surprised us too. I don't think that I could see a normal Pure-Blooded Devil, who could develop another unique demonic power aside from what they'd inherited."
Lingqi stated as the others seemed to almost gather around them. Although, it looked as if some remained in the party for the sake of security.
"I, felt a bit powerless after I couldn't do a single thing against Arata with what I had. So, over the summer, I focused on discovering what I could do, because of who I am and improving what have. Worthless can nullify a person's or items' power as long as I understand their properties, but that can take preparations. I created this new ability, because of that," Claire said, feeling pride in herself as she kept speaking. "As you guess, it lets me see things and people from a vast distance much more than most being's superhuman sight. But, if I concentrate, then I can see things like auras in colors and I can see their faintest properties too. And it was because of that, that I could tell that Issei Hyoudou was at some breaking point. If I combine both this and Worthless, then there could be nothing that I can't see or negate."
Kensei was impressed as Claire managed to create such a thing over the summer, causing him to give a faint pat on Claire's head.
"That's sure impressive that you could do all that. It sounds as if Diehauser didn't hold back in training you."
"I told him not to. I talked to Diehauser-Ojisan and the others about the things that I could improve on when it comes to demonic power and plans. I'm not going to get blindsided like I did when those Ordinals invaded our home," Claire declared, showing the kind of courage and confidence one could expect from a Number's second-in-command. "And it's the reason I called it Senrigan."
"That is a good name," Kensei said, then turned his attention over towards Maria, who seemed proud of the development of Claire. "Maria, I met someone named Arthur Pendragon. And he told me to tell you to give you his regards."
"Oh, is that so," Maria said, looking surprised that Arthur was there. "I didn't think that Arthur would be with the Vali Team, though. I do wonder if something happened in the Pendragon House. But, it must be…."
Based on Maria's look, it seemed as if she was aware of some history with Arthur, something that wasn't a big surprise considering their lineage.
"Who is Arthur to you?"
Layla curiously asked.
"I haven't met him personally. But, all things considered, you could call him Lancelot's best friend. As ironic as that sounds," Maria replied, much to their surprise. "I didn't hear much, but my brother always told me he would meet the Pendragon Heir, who wanted to escape from the family from time to time. It sounded as if the two could talk together without what happened between our ancestors clouding anything. Although, I don't know if Arthur knows about what's happening with Lancelot now."
Hearing Maria's explanation caused them to wonder about the relationship between those descendants far more. But, considering the conversation, it seemed as if Arthur didn't know much about what was going on with Lancelot now.
"To be honest, I don't know what Arthur might do. My brother considered him his brother-in-arms."
Maria stated.
"Well, there's not much that we can do here," Zane pointed out, scratching his head. "Uh, both of them left the Underworld through Caliburn. But, the fact that the Vali Team can enter the Underworld using that holy sword of all things will result in a meeting with the Maou and Grigori. I doubt that there would be much of a countermeasure against a sword that can cleave dimensions."
"That is true. Arthur alone is a strong swordsman, he cut through the space in front of us as if it were just a thing of heated butter," Kensei stated, thinking about the incident and then looking forward with a curious look. "Hm, that reminds me. Isn't Odin and Vidar supposed to be coming here too?"
"Oh, you're right," Zane said, then retrieved his Oracle Phone. "I think that he'd arrived about now. I think that he should be near the same building that Sirzechs and the others should be."
"Let's see."
Kensei closed his eyes, then started expanding his perception across the entire area, further and further, to where he could sense numerous Devils, Reincarnated, Common, and Pure-Bloods. Among the people within the range of that sense, he could sense a total of four divine presences. Two of them were Pure Gods, but the other two were half-Gods.
"Yeah, I can sense Odin and Vidar, with Rossweisse and Brynhildr."
Kensei informed them,
"I'm surprised that Vidar of all people came here."
"Well, it wouldn't be surprising if Vidar-sama is interested in the Rating Game too," Claire answered Layla's confusion as the group seemed to be noticing the other guards scrounging around without a simple target, instead seeming to focus on damage control. "I do think that we should end things right now and inform all the people. I think that the party's guards are lost as to what to do."
"That's right."
At that comment from Kensei, the people started being led back to the appropriate location, where Rias had informed the people about what happened. Of course, the Maou-sponsored party ended there, because of the Vali Team's attack.
"What a blunder."
Those were the words from Shemhazai, the Vice-Governor of Grigori, who'd walked around in the meeting currently taking place. In the room were Sirzechs and Serafall, Tannin, Azazel, and Michael, in addition to Kensei, Zane, and Maria, all of whom has some connections to what was happening. For minutes, Shemhazai was going through the issues behind what was happening in the Underworld. Azazel, of course, wasn't paying much attention, knowing that Shemhazai does this from time to time for minutes on end.
Each of them received the same report about what happened between Kuroka and Bikou, something which resulted in several things between Rias and her group. Of course, it was a happy accident that Issei became capable of activating Balance Breaker.
"The opponents were members of the Khaos Brigade's independent special unit, the Vali Team; consisting of the current Monkey King, Bikou, the Nekoshou, Kuroka, and the Holy King Sword user, Arthur. Three alone from a team of people endowed with tremendous power would come is…," Shemhazai continued with a rant and scolded the leaders there, some wanting to tone it out almost. "Also, the management ability of the Devils is simply…."
It continued from there for some time before Shemhazai decided to stop from there and allowed their meeting to continue there.
"I'm going to be cheering for Rias-san. Since the Sekiryuutei I trained is with her group," Tannin, in a miniature form stated. "Kukuku, he's an interesting kid. Poking breasts like that."
"The knowledge that Azazel has brought seemed to be bringing about a revolution in the Rating Games. If it is handled poorly, there may be a change within the high-ranked group within half a year."
"That would be good. Since the Top Ten haven't changed in the last ten-odd years. With this, it seems like we'll be able to see some interesting games."
That was the conversation happening between Tannin and Sirzechs, both seemed to be looking forward to the Rating Game.
"Well, Sona has my vote," Zane pointed out, raising his replaced hand in the air, catching their attention. "In terms of goals and ideals, I wouldn't mind aiding in the construction of that school of hers. There should be a lot of hidden talents and potentials in the Underworld overlooked because of their status. If things keep on at this point, then the Underworld might become stagnate and reach a point where it's unable to handle whatever happens in the future. As I said before, that might be better in filling the numbers lost during the Great War, where all sides suffered a loss in numbers."
At Zane's point, not a single person in the room could reject that comment, because the Underworld was at a time of change with the formation of the Three Faction's treaty. However, not one Old Devil or Higher-up wanted to see anything change from how it was, where their control of things reigned. And if things were to continue in that direction, then they might not be able to respond if something happened.
"I'm happy to hear such a thing from someone your age," Shemhazai pointed out, obviously impressed. "It was the same thing when Grigori began filling in the numbers we lost with the Humans we managed to find and aid. Also, Kensei-kun, there's something that I want to ask once this matter with the Rating Game has been settled. Primarily, before the summer ends."
"Oh, alright. I don't mind."
"Hmm."
Azazel hummed while smiling as Shemhazai looked more nervous right now.
"What's so funny?"
Shemhazai, realizing Azazel's look, stared straight at him.
"Nothing, Shemhazai."
Azazel replied, chuckling to himself.
Soon enough, the door opened, revealing four people standing right at the entrance, having been led there by some guards. It was revealed to be Odin and Vidar, with Rossweisse and Brynhildr, the two Valkyrie were dressed in their proper battle attire for the occasion.
"Hmm. So you youngsters can't greet an old man like me, huh?"
"Ah, come on, Dad. It seems as if their group has been preoccupied lately."
Odin and Vidar started speaking, though neither of them seemed to be all that serious about their comment to the people in the room.
"Oh, oh, it's been a while, hasn't it, old geezer of the northern countryside?"
"It's been a while, Fallen Angel brat. It seems you've become intimate with the people you fought with for so long, but…. Are you still thinking of something crafty?"
"Hah! Unlike the countryside gods that honors old-fashioned bonds according to conventional practices or whatever else, we young people have flexible thoughts. Rather than sticking to troublesome hostile ways of thinking, we place more value on growth and progress."
"That's a loser's mindset appropriate for the weak. After all, you're a gathering of brats that have lost their founding God and Maou."
Both sides looked back and forth at Azazel and Odin had their back and forth, something which seemed to counter whatever the two were saying.
"It's called becoming independent and standing on our own, geezer."
"Seeing a bunch of brats doing a play meeting like this, I can't help but laugh."
At their last comment at one another, Kensei raised his hand in the air, gaining their attention.
"Wow, you two sound like one of you skipped out of the bill at some point," Kensei stated, gaining both their attention. "Though knowing both of you, it could've been either."
"Hahaha, can't argue with that."
Vidar added.
"Well, I'm happy to see that our little Samurai friend is in good spirits. It looks as if he's gotten stronger than the last time I saw you," Odin stated, brushing his long beard using his hand and wearing a mischievous smile, then uttered under his breath. "Though, I'm sure that our Chief Valkyrie is the happiest one here."
"I don't doubt that."
Vidar, who heard Odin, too uttered under his breath.
"…."
Both of them tried ignoring the serious stare being sent directly from behind them, originating from one of the two Valkyries. Seeing the perfect time to speak up, Sirzechs stood up from his seat and approached the two gods from the Norse Faction.
"It's been a long time, King God of the North, Odin-dono. And Vidar-dono."
Sirzechs stated, bowing his head respectfully.
"Sirzechs. I came here on the invitation you gave me to watch the games. Also, Vidar decided to come here too to see the Rating Games in person too," Odin stated, then almost looked sympathetic. "However, you've also had it hard. I'd heard that the descendant of the original Lucifer, who is also the current Hakuryuukou became a terrorist. The future of Devils isn't going to be easy."
After that, Odin then turned his attention over towards Serafall, who he stared oddly at, seeing as she was dressed as a magical girl.
"By the way, Serafall. What's with that appearance?"
Odin asked confused.
"Ara, Odin-sama! Don't you know? This is a magical girl's outfit~"
Serafall replied, standing up from her seat and posing in front of Odin, not minding whether or not she was revealing herself.
"Hmm. So this is what's popular among young people these days. Not bad at all. Yes, yes, quite nice."
Odin perversely said, while looking at Serafall's panties and legs.
Smack!
As quick as Odin did that, Rossweisse summoned a harisen from another dimension, then smacked Odin on top of his head. Seeing that almost caused Kensei and the others among the Numbers to almost burst out into laughter, though that didn't stop Vidar, with Brynhildr nodding her head.
"Odin-sama, you mustn't do such indecent things! The reputation of Valhalla will cry!"
"Geez, you're so stuffy. That's why you can't get any heroes as a boyfriend."
In response to Rossweisse's comment, Odin shot her back with one that felt as if an arrow struck her heart in the most painful spot. It almost caused all the strength to leave the Valkyrie's body, while she struggled to stop herself from tearing up. Rossweisse ended up breaking down, slumping on the wall, drawing a circle with her finger in tears.
"A-At any rate, I'm an aged female warrior, with a history of no boyfriends! I too want to have a boyfriend! Auuu," Rossweisse whined, then started speaking under her breath. "Even the Chief Valkyrie managed to get herself a boyfriend."
"…I'll let her sulk."
Brynhildr, who would have said something under normal circumstances, simply allowed her former soldier to sulk. Rossweisse's reaction caused the leaders to look on in confusion about her reaction.
"I'm sorry. This person is my current assistant. Although she's good-looking, she's too stuffy. She can't get a man either."
Odin's comment didn't make matters better as Rossweisse continued to sulk in sadness.
"I'm starting to think that Odin-sama simply loves hurting Rossweisse. Anyone else?"
Hisui thought out loud in confusion.
"Same."
Kensei replied.
"No doubt."
Zane agreed.
"Yes."
Maria added.
"Poor girl."
Abigail stated.
As Rossweisse sulked, while Abigail stood up from her seat, then approached the downed silver-haired girl as the meeting continued.
"I'd heard about it. Sirzechs, Serafall, your family members are fighting each other, right? Geez, making your precious younger sisters face each other even though they're close friends," Odin stated, seeming almost a bit surprised. "You people are so bad. You really are Devils."
"Eh, I don't know, considering that Thor has been thinking over your granddaughter's training suggestions."
Vidar mused, leaning closer and mentioning that to Odin.
"Ah, I fear for the poor man who attempts to court that girl," Odin sighed, seeming serious for the first time. "I doubt that though, she has her mother's beauty, but her father's headstrong personality."
"Well, If Rias can't break through this much, then her hopes for her future as a devil won't be born."
"It's already decided that my Sona-chan will win~"
Odin listened as Sirzechs and Sona commented about their respective younger sisters, causing the Norse Chief God to take an empty seat beside them; followed by Vidar. As they did that, Kensei and the others could see that Abigail was consoling Rossweisse, who, in turn, wrapped her arms around the half-Angel. Each one of them understood that being in Abigail's arms made them feel as if they were receiving warmth from their older sister. It was fitting since Abigail was older than Rossweisse too.
As Odin was doing that, Kensei found himself glancing over in the direction of Brynhildr, who was doing her Bodyguard duties. In catching her potential husband's eyes toward her, she appeared causal, until noticing Kensei waving his hand at her. Such a thing caused Brynhildr to almost flinch, but maintained her confident demeanor and returned to face. On the outside, she was calm, but on the inside….
"Eeeei, I wasn't expecting to meet Kensei here. But, of course, I chose a partner who was famous enough to be accepted in a room full of the Underworld's highest-rank people and Gods. Hehehe, I'm looking forward to our date. I've already planned everything. It's going to be so perfect."
As giddy as a girl preparing for her first date, Brynhildr was looking forward to the event.
"Now then. The matter of the Khaos Brigade is all well and good, but I have come to watch the Rating Game. When is the appointed date?"
Odin began the conversation from that point, as the leaders and people continued speaking about what'll happen in regards to the Rating Game.
Once things settled from there, Kensei found himself walking down the hallway, where he noticed Azazel and Sirzechs were talking. Based on the conversation, he could hear that the two were talking about the upcoming Rating Game. Approaching them, Kensei could tell that the two realized that Issei would be their team's prime target. More than being their main attacker, Issei became the linchpin of the Gremory Group's dynamic and emotional pillar. If such a person were to be taken down, then that would be a serious blow to the entire group as a whole.
"Ah, Kensei-kun."
Sirzechs returned from his serious demeanor and returned to a calmer one.
"Yo, Sirzechs, Azazel."
"Well, I'll be looking forward to the information that you'd found in that other world concerning the thirteen Longinus," Azazel stated, not afraid of showing happiness from recalling that fact. "I'm sure that Zane has a lot planned for their group's development in regards to innovations and their training. I'd heard that he was able to progress in terms of using the Magus Akashic. I'm sure that I noticed him talking to Michael too. Well, I can't help but be interested in that."
At that, Azazel waved his hand, then proceeded to head in another direction.
"I'm sure that he doesn't want Michael to on up him in something."
"Haha, that sure does sound like Azazel too."
Kensei and Sirzechs could agree about that regarding Azazel's relationship with the Archangel.
"So, I heard that there were some interesting things inside that world produced by one of the Longinus. I'm sure it was called Shiamano," Sirzechs stated, as Kensei looked on to find the Crimson Satan's interest was piqued. "I'd heard that the children of your ancestor were quite the powerful Longinus users, who could've fought a God if possible. So, I'm interested in seeing that world."
"Well, if Grayfia-san ever gives you free time. I wouldn't mind showing you," Kensei joked something which caused Sirzechs to laugh faintly. "It's an entire world full of a concentration of spiritual power. Even in the safer areas, Ravel and Shirone could barely use demonic power as much."
"Shirone? Ah, I see, Koneko is letting you call her by her old name," Sirzechs stated, showing a smile on his face after hearing that. "I'm glad that you managed to get Koneko to accept herself."
"No one should need to be afraid of accepting themselves. For Shirone, she was simply afraid of becoming something that she wasn't if she ended up losing control," Kensei stated and then continued in a direction that wasn't particularly aimed at Sirzechs. "All because her older sister 'lost control'."
"You know, based on how you said that. It seems as if you know something."
Sirzechs stated, almost jokingly, but curiously too.
"Eh, I'll just cut to the case and not make this dramatic. Kuroka never lost control of her powers, not even in the slightest. I met a Nekoshou who absorbed malice from the world, and that scenario was closer to what you would expect if something like that happened. If you absorb malice, it corrupts your soul and causes a person to act differently from usual. I asked Shirone about what her sister was like, and Kuroka matched that description without the slightest change," Kensei stated, then continued. "Even if Kuroka managed to get a hold of herself and healed, something like corruption would still have some aftereffects."
"So, it seems as if the story about Kuroka losing control of herself wasn't true. If a High-Class Devil were to be murdered by their servant, then the focus would often be capturing them instead of investigating what caused it. A system that favors the Master over the Servant is something that'll spark more trouble," Sirzechs stated and then got into a serious thinking position. "In the end, the most that I was capable of doing was keeping Koneko from getting executed."
"Do, you know what clan Kuroka's Master was a part of?"
"He was a member of the Naberius Clan's branch family."
"Got it, I'll see if Kuroka will be interested in talking to me about what happened," Kensei stated, then kept on from there. "I mean, she already seems interested in me."
"You always seem to attract some interesting people."
"Yeah, but I consider that one of my best traits," Kensei stated jokingly, shrugging his shoulders. "Though, I do hope that this ends up repairing the relationship between Kuroka and Shirone. I could tell that despite all that happened, Kuroka still cared about her sister."
"Well, I'll leave things on your end until then."
"Yeah. Also one more thing, I learned about something interesting in Shiamano too after reading a journal my ancestor left behind. And interesting enough, it might interest you."
"Oh, is that so? Well, consider my interest piqued."
At that, Kensei and Sirzechs continued walking and talking to one another, as the Crimson Satan listened to what the Dragon Child was telling him. It was, in fact, something that interested him, however, it wasn't the kind of thing that Sirzechs thought would be possible.
Tomorrow came, and it was the beginning of the first round of the Rating Game between Rias and Sona. An abundance of people had their expectations aimed squarely toward the Gremory Group. It wasn't that big a surprise considering Rias gathered: Baraqiel's daughter, a Nekoshou, a Time-stopping half-Vampire, Kiba, the Holy-Demonic Sword user, the Sekiryuutei, a Healer, and the Durandal owner. It was such an overpowered and equipped group that it wasn't surprising that the odds were stacked against Sona.
Inside the VIP Room, where several higher-ups gathered together in anticipation of the first round of the Youth Tournament. However, it wasn't them alone, as there were other people from various factions, who were invited to watch the match. In the room, there were some other Chief Gods and their bodyguards who were doing their job and guarding them. Each of their attentions seemed to be aimed at the screen, instead of the others. It wasn't surprising as some of them had some misgivings about being in the same rooms as former enemies or rivals.
However, the invitation from Sirzechs and the others granted them the chance to witness the Sekiryuutei for themselves; in addition to wanting to confirm the potential treaties for themselves. Entering the room, it was Kensei and the others from the Kibou Alliance, who ended up attracting the attention of the leaders in the room. It resulted in them feeling the various divine presence from the Gods sitting inside the room, with some like Kunou and Ravel, reacting to the presence from them.
Their group could also see Odin and Vidar in the room, as Rossweisse and Brynhildr acted as their guards while sitting beside Sirzechs and Azazel.
"Kunou hasn't seen this many gods before."
"It truly is a room full of the faction's leaders."
Kunou and Ravel commented.
"Yeah, this is a first for me. At a glance, I could tell some gods are from the Egyptian and Celtic Factions. I'm surprised that some gods came here in response to Sirzechs' invitation."
Lingqi pointed out, having noticed some features from the Gods that allowed her to tell where the faction's leaders originated from.
"So, that's the Kibou Alliance?"
A Celtic God asked curiously.
"It seems so. I heard that their group was making some connections with other factions, such as the Norse and Greek Factions. If I'm not mistaken, I think that someone from our faction is a part of their group too."
A god acting as their bodyguard stated.
"Hm, I can tell that they're not amateurs and has enough strength to call themselves their group."
"It seems as if the three of them, in particular, seem to be at the head of the group," another god came up with that comment, looking at Kensei, Zane, and Maria. "A human with a dragon's aura. A magician, with an irregular presence. And a human with a strong holy presence. There's also that cat girl and half-angel, both of them don't lose to them either."
"And the people following them aren't weak at all. Such an interesting group of people."
It seemed as if Kensei and the others were receiving some positive reaction from the gods inside the VIP room. Nonetheless, it didn't seem as if the Kibou Alliance needed to be worried about seeming to be nothing more of a "small group" to other factions.
"Gahahahaha, I see that your group managed to get invited too!"
In response to that boisterous voice, Kensei immediately felt someone smacking him on the back.
Smack!
"Oh, I didn't think that I'd see you here, Zeus."
Kensei not reacting to that smack on the back from the Chief God, Zeus. He turned around to find an older man, with a mustache, adorned in a crown and toga.
"Hah, I was interested in that invitation that the boy from the Underworld sent me. I thought that it might be interesting to see one of their Rating Games up close with the others here," Zeus replied, wrapping his arm around Kensei, showing an energetic look. "Besides, after the Three Faction announced their treaty, I'd thought that it would be a good time to see that the world was beginning to change."
"That's a really good way to see it. And you're a little drunk, aren't you."
"Hahahaha, that too," Zeus admitted, smiling cheerfully. "You know, Kensei, my offer still stands. I have a lot of daughters that wouldn't mind having a partner."
"Yeah, that might be a little bit much for me," Kensei replied, giving a wry smile. "I'm also kinda aware that your faction doesn't handle relationships all that well."
"You're not wrong about that! Gahahaha, I got into trouble because of that from time to time. But, don't you let that keep you from living your life to the fullest!"
"Come on, I think that's enough. I don't think that Kensei could appreciate having an old God shouting right in his ear."
Another voice caught their attention, as Kensei looked up to find a handsome man, with curly black hair and rare orange eyes, dressed in a chiton, worn by men and women from Ancient Greece/Rome.
"Yo, Apollon."
"Hey, Kensei and you guys," Apollon, one of Zeus' sons were acting as his guard this time, more so since he wanted to see the Rating Game too. "I heard that your group was involved in something big. But, it looks as if you're all in good spirits as usual."
Since the group met Apollon, he has shown this casual and frivolous atmosphere around them. He held a particular fondness for Alice and Minako, both of their attention towards art and music, something which he was a god of. It made it easier for him to hold a conversation about such things, finding their new ideas for the likes as an appealing trait he liked about humans.
Soon enough, Kensei and the others noticed that Sirzechs and Serafall signaling to those in the VIP room, just as their sisters' match was beginning to start. Just then the group took seats near enough to them, and the two Valkyrie sent a faint nod or wave towards them.
[Everyone, I, the Queen of the Lucifer group, Grayfia, will be carrying the role of arbiter in the "Rating Game" between the Gremory group and the Sitri group on this occasion.]
Everyone could hear that Grayfia in the Rating Game, was acting as their arbiter, this time representing the Lucifer Group instead of the Gremory Clan.
From the screens that those in the VIP Room could see, the Gremory and Sitri Group were in their starting positions. Kensei, Claire, and those who were in Kuoh Town could recognize the location that the two were inside a mall located there.
[In the name of my master, Sirzechs Lucifer, I will watch over the battle between these two families. It's a pleasure to be here. To get right to the main topic, the battlefield for today is the department store within the neighborhood of the school, Kuoh Academy, which Rias-sama and Sona-sama attend with their groups. It has been prepared within a separate space as the game field.] Grayfia stated in a calm and professional tone. [Both groups have been transported to their respective "bases". Rias-sama's "base" is on the second floor of the east side, while Sona-sama's "base" is on the first floor of the west side. For "Pawns" to promote, please go to your opponent's "bases".]
As Grayfia continued explaining the rules to the competitors, and in turn, to those who were watching the first round of the Youth Tournament. It would be a first-time experience for those watching the match for the first time in such a manner.
[This time, there will be special rules. Documents on this have been sent to each group, so please check them. A single bottle of the healing item, Phoenix Tears has been provided to each team. Furthermore, the time to strategies before the battle is thirty minutes. Contact with the opponent during this time is strictly forbidden. The game is scheduled to start after thirty minutes. Then, let the strategy time begin.]
Grayfia explained as the people listening in the match could see.
From there, the strategy phase was beginning with the two groups beginning to speak among themselves, about what the other should do. However, the rules this time around were something that would prove to put them at a disadvantage.
"Huh, it looks as if the Gremory Group isn't capable of using their full power, because of the rules this time around. Based on what I've seen thus far, their members specialize in wide-range attacks that cause just destruction from the outcome. And doesn't have much control of it."
Kensei stated, leaning forward.
"Hm, that gives Sona and her group an advantage. Rias is a Wizard-type, closer to a Power-type. Akeno is a Wizard-type. Koneko is a Power-type, but she began learning martial arts from Kensei. Gasper is a Support-type, closer to a Technique-type. Asia is a Support-type, closer to a Wizard-type. Kiba is a Technique-type. Xenovia is a Power-type that excels in speed. And Ise is a Power-type but does have some Support-type," an analytical tone could be heard from Zane. "Sona and her group are composed of Technique-types and Wizard-types. None of their tactics involves destroying an area, but are efficient. Also, Sona and her group have better teamwork too."
"Hm, this is going to be difficult for the Gremory Group in terms of that. Their group hasn't had experience in dealing with many opponents in situations like this. But, this will be a good experience for them since their group will be facing the Khaos Brigade in the future."
Maria finished her comment with that, as she noticed them realizing that their peerage was at a disadvantage. It caused Rias to adjust her initial plan of using their group's strengths against Sona, the bespectacled King didn't seem to alter hers and used the rules to her advantage. Rias ended up having her servants like Kiba and Gasper scour around the entire area of their floor.
With interest in the Maou siblings, the faction leader paid close attention to what was happening right in front of them.
At the appointed time, the Gremory and Sitri Groups started the match with one another, with each of their servants moving out to do their duties. Deciding to use Issei as bait, with Koneko at his side, the two were headed out into the open to garner attention. Kiba and Xenovia, on the other hand, were heading to the parking garage. Rias, Akeno, and Asia all remained together until it would be time for them to move out, while Gasper was acting as the scout.
"So, Kensei, are you planning on supporting Rias' peerage? Since Koneko-san is on the peerage."
"Hm, good question," Kensei replied to Claire's question as he seemed to be mulling it over in his head. "I do support Shirone since I taught her and I do think that she's a hilarious savage. Issei happens to be the host of Ddraig, the same as my relative. And I do know them more in comparison to Sona's group. Yeah, I guess you can say that. Though, I like taking a neutral side, because I do like both groups."
"Are you just saying that, because Sirzechs-sama and Serafall-sama are here?"
"Who knows~?"
Kensei playfully said in response to Ravel's casual question, while the two Maou focused on their sisters. As that was proceeding, the various gods and leaders were being served by the maids and butlers inside the VIP Room.
[…Above!]
Koneko, who had been in her Nekomata state the entire time sensed a presence from above her, originating from Saji and Ruroko, both of them were using the Absorption Line to move around.
[Hyoudou! The first attack is ours!]
At that declaration, the combined weight of Saji and Ruroko knocked Issei backward but then recovered a bit as he stood back up. It was then that people watching noticed that Saji's Absorption Line has changed, taking form as more of a gauntlet with snakes wrapped around it. But, then looked to notice that a line was attached to Issei's left arm, where Boosted Gear rested. A second line was attached to his right arm, but it was heading in another direction.
For those in the VIP Room, their group could see the direction the line was going, something which caused the leaders to hum in surprise.
"Ah, what an interesting plan."
"It seems as if Serafall's sister has an interesting mind."
The leaders watching found themselves interested in Sona's plan, as the group found themselves watching a match between Issei vs. Saji and Koneko vs. Ruroko. Both groups were actively fighting against one another. It was then that a shocking announcement reached their ears, with Issei and Koneko both pausing for a moment.
[Rias Gremory-sama's [Bishop] retires.]
Issei couldn't stop himself from looking up in complete shock at that.
"The one that was taken out is most likely Gasper-kun."
Saji stated, causing Issei to look on, still surprised that Gasper got taken out.
It was then Saji explained that the Sitri Group caught Gasper, who transformed into bats to navigate and spy on them. Because their base was located near the grocery store, garlic was abundant, a main weakness to Vampires, whether half or not. It looked as if Issei was irritated nonetheless that Gasper got taken out by garlic of all things.
Ddraig then explained that Boosted Gear's ability couldn't be used, because the doubled power, would then be transferred to Saji. But, the activation of Balance Breaker might end up blowing away the line, because of the explosion of aura. Starting the countdown, the match between the group continued from there. A surprise came when Saji attached a line to a light in the mall, then transferred demonic power into it. After Saji and Ruroko put on sunglasses, it unleashed a blinding light that got Issei and Koneko.
"Oh, they're using their environment to their advantage," Zane said, surprised and impressed, as Saji didn't let that chance slip and gave Issei an uppercut. "Sona truly is showing the true purpose of the Rating Games. She's using everything to her advantage to make up for the power difference."
"And I can see Shirone is using what we taught her here."
Despite being blinded, Koneko was handling herself well despite being blinded from the light, feeling the Ki Ruroko was emitting. It, however, looked as if Saji was unleashing demonic power much greater than he was capable of. It wasn't natural, instead, it looked as if he attached a line to his chest and seemed to be turning life-force into demonic power.
"He's taking it to that extent."
Maria stated, being among the people who could sense that.
"Well, I can understand his frustration considering that their dreams were laughed at by the Old Devils. And despite being the same Pawn, he must feel insecure when compared with Issei, who has been garnering all the attention," an understanding tone came from Kensei, who looked straightforward. "It shows that he's determined to do whatever it takes to win."
Just as that conversation was continuing, Koneko ended up landing a strong hit on Ruroko, who'd dodged the full potential impact. It, however, did, cause an impact as the female Pawn to fall to her knees as her body shook. It was then explained that Koneko drove Ki straight into Ruroko's body, attacking the vessels and making it impossible to fight. As Ruroko apologized to Saji for losing, her body was transported outside of the Rating Game to the medical room.
Despite being free to fight with Issei, the Sekiryuutei denied that, wanting to continue the match between himself and Saji without aid.
"Ah, I see those two have the spirit to match their position as Dragon hosts."
A calm tone came from one of the leaders.
Both of them kept on fighting with one another, as Saji kept converting life-force into demonic power, not caring about the result. Unleashing a stronger attack, Issei seemed to have activated the Dividing Gear, the ability stolen from Divine Dividing. However, halving that last demonic power ended up taking another chunk of lifespan from him. After reaching the countdown, Issei managed to activate Balance Breaker, thus blowing away the line attached to Boosted Gear.
After that, the battle proceeded into a one-sided battle, where Issei held the upper hand against Saji, who kept fighting despite that. No matter the situation, he kept fighting against the Scale Mail wearer without a hint of fear. Issei punched and kicked Saji, dealing major damage, while the fellow Pawn attacked back, but it broke his hands in contact with the armor.
[…I'll win…. Today, I'll defeat you…. I'll take the first step towards my dream….]
Saji kept fighting against Issei using whatever method he could, no matter if the method didn't do anything against the Scale Mail. It, however, looked as if some of Saji's attacks were bypassing the armor, through a method unknown to him. Kensei and the others thought that it had to be because the Dragon was sealed in the Absorption Line, despite being one-fourth of the Dragon's power.
Each leader in the room almost looked struck as someone not donned in armor and owned a weaker Dragon was fighting someone in possession of one of the mightiest Dragons. It was an admirable attempt that not a single person in the VIP Room could look down on. After Saji lost against Issei, he didn't let go of him until he was forced to vanish.
[Sona Sitri-sama's [Pawn] retires.]
Inside the parking lot, minutes before, Kiba and Xenovia met up with Tsubaki, Tsubasa, and Tomoe, who the group fought against in combat. After the announcement of Gasper's defeat, that incident motivated Xenovia to fight with greater vigor. Surprisingly, instead of Durandal, which Xenovia couldn't control yet, she held Ascalon and instead transferred its aura into the Dragon Slayer. It was because of a previous suggestion from Azazel, to transfer Durandal's aura from the other space without summing it.
From that, against Tomoe, she held the upper hand up against the katana-wielding Knight. It wasn't all that long until something surprising happened in the Sitri Group. Tsubasa got in between Xenovia and Merugi, just as Ascalon was being swung down. Most thought that Tsubasa was taking the blow for her colleague, however, it went against their expectations.
[Reverse!]
At Tsubasa's declaration, the holy aura wrapped around Ascalon turned into a demonic aura, something which had little damage on them. Tsubasa then knocked Xenovia, who lost momentum in another direction, causing a faint opening in the Knight.
"I can't believe it."
Azazel looked surprised about what happened. But, it wasn't as if it was the first time that he'd seen this. It was an ability that he was well aware of.
"Azazel, I'm sure that you know what Sona's Rook just used."
Zane glanced over towards Azazel, noticing his reaction to that move being used.
"Ah, yeah. It was an ability that Grigori has been researching, but haven't gotten around to testing out in an actual combat situation. Hah, I wonder if gave Sona and her group something like that to test it out," Azazel looked to be more concerned. "I'm sure you're aware that giving someone an ability they're not compatible with might cause negative side effects."
In response to the incident, Kiba uses Holy-Demonic Swords, which couldn't be reversed, because it's already a mixture of two powers. So, Kiba faced Tomoe and Tsubasa, while Xenovia fought against Tsubaki in a close-combat battle. However, that too ended up being a mistake as Sona's Queen unveiled something which turned the situation around.
[Mirror Alice!]
Once Ascalon struck and broke the huge ornamental mirror, it resulted in the damage doubled, then it returned to Xenovia. A slash appeared on Xenovia's chest as she was struck with the holy aura, something which resulted in serious damage.
"Ah, so Tsubaki did end up having a Counter? Mirror Alice, huh? I'm surprised that she managed to keep the Sacred Gear hidden from Rias all this time."
Azazel looked interested as Tsubaki unveiled a Sacred Gear of her own.
Such an incident, another one where Sona's team ended up gaining the upper hand against the fan-favorite team, caused surprise in those watching. Sirzechs continued watching on diligently without making a clear expression on his face.
After Xenovia ended up being hit by that attack, Kiba took her to another section to mend her wounds as much as possible. But, both were aware it wouldn't be much time until she was taken outside of the Rating Game. The group then received word that one of Sona's Pawn, Ruroko was taken out. So, together Kiba and Xenovia walked out in front of the two. And then together, the two channeled their auras together, and the two used a combination move.
[Durandal Birth!]
Numerous Holy-Demonic Swords sprang up from the ground like flowers, while wrapped in Durandal's holy aura. And the large-scale attack landed against the three members, but Tsubaki ended up escaping from the aftermath.

After that, it was announced that Rias and the remaining members would meet up in the central plaza, the group met Sona and her remaining servants. Sona was behind a barrier being powered by her Bishops, Reya and Momo, who stood without fear.
[…Sona, you're quite bold. To have come right to the center.]
Rias stated, stepping up to Sona, as Issei and Koneko arrived.
[Haven't you, the King, moved personally as well, Rias?]
Sona countered.
[Yeah, since we have already reached the final stage either way. Though, it seems to have turned out quite differently from what I expected…]
At that, Rias showed a rigid look as the plan that she came up with to defeat Sona was countered in such a tactical manner that it almost mocked her. Sona completely read every single move that their group could have came up with as if it was nothing.
As things continued from there, Issei started appearing dazed, then landed on one knee, something which sparked concern from the Gremory Group. Not knowing the situation, Asia moved to begin healing Issei via Twilight Healing, but it had no use. Not even the Phoenix Tears, which Rias thought of using wouldn't have much of an effect either.
[Neither Asia-san's Sacred Gear nor the Phoenix Tears will have any effect. Rias, I saw the video records of how the battle with Riser was finished. What I understood from that was that Hyoudou-kun is someone who won't give up in battle, to the point of being frightening. For the sake of his comrades, for himself, and above all for Rias.] Sona continued further. [We may not be able to defeat him with just damage. No matter how many times we knock him down, he'll just get back up. To us, your so-called "guts and spirit" is just as astounding as the power of the Sekiryuutei. Yes, if you don't give up and keep on standing up, you believe that you'll eventually defeat your enemy. That willpower connects directly to the power of the Sekiryuutei and increases your power by several times as well. That is the greatest weapon for Hyoudou-kun.]
It was then that Sona unveiled the plan that Saji had been continuing since their first encounter with Issei, with Absorption Line's line still on his arm. In Momo's hand, it was a pack that the line was attached to, with Issei's blood being drained into it. A sudden reveal caused Kiba to immediately toss a dagger straight at the line to release him from it.
"Incredible! I didn't think that Sona-sama could ever come up with such a strategy," Ravel couldn't hide her shock and awe at what she'd witnessed. "She planned on doing this from the beginning, with the rules of the Rating Game making it easier for her plan to come alive. I can't help but admire Sona-sama for this."
Ravel, who was an aspiring strategist herself admired the fact that Sona could close the distance between herself and Rias in such a manner. Serafall was cheering and in tears from witnessing Sona's strategies all succeed during the Rating Game match.
In the match, the Sekiryuutei will be the person who gets taken out next, without being able to do much in the battle. But, then something unexpected happened, with Issei making one last attack at doing one final move.
[Spread out, the world of my dreams!]
After making that declaration, Issei used whatever demonic power he had left to spread out a mysterious field, something which caused the women there to protect themselves.
"I feel as if he's going to do something that'll both astonish and disappoint me."
Kensei stated, recalling something similar happening during the Rating Game with Riser.
No one in the room could tell what Issei heard, but it seemed as if he was satisfied with whatever he'd heard from Sona. It sounded as if she believed that Issei came up with a technique that allowed him to read their minds.
"Hey, guys want to make a bet about what this new move is?"
Kensei asked as he turned his attention to those from the Kibou Alliance.
"Nope."
"Nah~"
"We already guessed what he did this time."
Zane, Hisui, and Maria all replied without hesitation.
[My new technique, Pailingual! My new technique lets me hear the voice of breasts from women only! …Haa, haa. When I question them, the breasts tell the answer to only me without lies! …Haa, haa. It's the strongest technique that lets me understand the heart of the opponent! Ugh, I don't have enough blood…]
At that, each member of the VIP Room remained silent, as neither of the leaders could even come up with a single response. But, it was then that someone in the room began laughing, it wasn't just one person. It had first come from Zeus, who was looking down, and then Azazel, who was covering his face.
"Dahahahahaha! What the hell?! I never thought that someone would come up with such a thing!"
"Hahaha, come on, Ise. What the hell?!"
Zeus and Azazel couldn't hide their laughter.
From there, the Rating Game continued with the plan Sona devised being revealed, with Issei and Asia, who tried an attempt at healing him. But, then Momo stepped into the field, while Tsubaki left the healing field Asia produced, surprising the group for a moment.
[Reverse!]
Momo called out, reversing the green healing field into a red damage field, which took out Issei, Asia, and her at the same time. Momo ended up being taken out with a satisfied smile, while Issei and Asia got taken out in a humiliating manner.

After that was announced, Rias found herself livid, almost as if she had just eaten a bug right at that exact moment.
"…So this is the current Sekiryuutei."
One of the leaders stated, staring at the screen with a dumbfounded look.
Nobody could come up with a single response to that comment, the other sharing the same thought about Issei in that instance. Most of them have lived much longer than any Human in the world, even Sirzechs in their eyes was still considered young. But, this was the first time that their people countered someone who could come up with such a technique. Azazel still found the entire situation humorous after thinking about what happened right in front of him.
"Hohohoh, what an interesting battle," Odin said impressed by what he witnessed right in front of him on screen. "Sirzechs."
"Yes."
"About that kid who has the dragon Sacred Gear."
"You mean Hyoudou Issei-kun? He has the Sekiryuutei."
However, Odin's next words were unexpected.
"No, I mean the Pawn of the Sitri family," Odin surprised Sirzechs and the others in the room, who thought that he was referring to Issei. "He's a good Devil. You should take good care of that one. He'll become much stronger in the future. The achievement of beating the Sekiryuutei kid is huge. Watching the Rating Games of Devils is fun because of this. The weak change in the middle of a match. This is what a true match is."
Whether it was someone from his sister's peerage or not, Sirzechs couldn't help smiling at the compliment Odin was giving to a young Devil.
"That's right, that's right! Odin-ojiichan understands things, after all~"
Serafall declared, in tears from what Sona managed to accomplish this far.
Half of Rias' team was taken out, even though their group was supposed to have the edge against Sona's team. No doubt their initial evaluation would end up taking a serious dive. Sona out-thought them at every single point during the Rating Game and if it wasn't for the fact that Issei unveiled that technique it would have resulted in their loss. It was something that their entire group realized in that instance, but then Rias, who calmed herself down stood up.
[Koneko, can you feel her spirit?]
[Yes. I couldn't detect it before, but now I can sense Kaichou's spirit on the roof. I think that the barrier from before was a false illusion that made it look like Kaichou was inside it, and also a special decoy that made anyone unable to perceive the actual person's spirit and location.]
Koneko replied to Rias' question.
Getting that information, Tsubaki stepped up in front of Kiba, who'd steeled herself to fight against the Knight. She held her naginata in her hands, but then there was movement from Akeno, who approached the enemy group shakily. It seemed as if she was the most affected by Issei being taken out, having steeled up her resolve to use Holy Lightning. Just then lightning infused with light sparkled around her hands, it didn't take long for Akeno to aim it at Sona's last Bishop.
[Reverse!]
Reya tried to use Reverse, but it was in vain as the attempt failed, with her body being covered in lightning, which immediately took her out.

It seemed as if Reya's attempt at inverting the Holy Lightning failed, since she tried inverting the Thunder, and failed the reverse the 'light'. Akeno then turned her attention towards Tsubaki, who immediately moved to avoid the Holy Lightning fired at her. Kiba charged in and went into a head-on clash against Tsubaki, with their sword and naginata clashing with one another. Thinking quickly, she received a bottle of Phoenix Tears, but instead of using it on herself, she tossed it at Kiba.
It surprised him enough to pause, as Tsubaki cut the vial open, spilling the contents on Kiba. Same as with Asia's Twilight Healing, she tried reversing the potent healing abilities into pure damage. But, Kiba reacted to that attempt and covered himself in water produced by the Holy-Demonic Sword he converted into one that produces water. Taking that opening, Tsubaki went in to attack Kiba again, but then he'd caused Holy-Demonic Swords to sprout around him.
[The current me, has no openings!]
He propelled forward at Tsubaki, who summoned Mirror Alice at the last second, but in that instance, Kiba broke the mirror with as little force as possible.
[Petro, Basileus, Dionysius, Holy Mary. Please listen to my voice!]
Chanting that out loud, Kiba started summoning Durandal from another space, then found himself looking at Tsubaki's surprised look. It wasn't long until Tsubaki took the full attack as it slashed her, resulting in damage that would without a doubt take her out. Same as with Kensei, Durandal's aura was released a lot differently from when it was in Xenovia's hand. It, however, wasn't still under control as the slash ended up cutting up the floor.

[It's because I—aim to surpass Ise-kun, no, the Sekiryuutei.]
Kiba declared without hesitation.
"So, I'm guessing the VIPs from both teams are Kiba and Saji."
Kensei's comment, none of the people around him could disagree with that, considering that Kiba took a lot of what happened in stride. Despite being weaker than Issei in terms of offensive power in the group, he proved himself as much of an Ace in this situation.
"Yeah, it seems as if this is going to end in Sona's lose."
Zane pointed out, unable to see a scenario where Sona wins this match. She was outnumbered with Rias, Akeno, Koneko, and Kiba aware of her location.
As expected, the final match came when Rias and Sona faced one another on the roof, with the spectacled King showcasing technique and determination despite the difference.
[Resignation confirmed. It is Rias Gremory-sama's victory.]
Just as Grayfia announced, it was Rias' peerage who won in the end, but it was rather lackluster for them.
"Well, that was an interesting match. I thought that it would be an easy win for the group, which has the Sekiryuutei on their team. But, it seems as if our expectations took a turn."
One of the leaders stated, looking forward.
"I agree. I do think that these Rating Games are an interesting idea that the Underworld has come up with. I wouldn't mind coming here to watch another one again."
"Sirzechs, Serafall, both of you should be proud of your sisters."
Those were some of the comments that Sirzechs and Serafall received from the leaders standing inside the VIP Room. It made them proud that in one way or another, their sisters were receiving praise from people of such stature, which the two Maou returned with a bow.
"Though, I'd heard that the Heavenly Emperor, Indra would be here too."
Another god commented.
"Ah, I Indra-sama in another VIP room, where Ajuka and Falbium are."
Sirzechs stated something which caught Kensei's attention.
"Indra, the War God."
"Isn't that the same god that Sun Wukong is acting as the Vanguard for?"
Kensei and Lingqi seemed interested in Indra, who's supposed to be here too.
"Well, that was quite the Rating Game. As the others said, I wouldn't mind watching another one again," an energetic tone could be heard from Odin, who kept standing there and brushed his bread. "Well, I heard that a meeting would be taking place between the gods about the Khaos Brigade. So, I believe that I should take a quick stroll before then."
Kensei and the others looked on suspiciously as Odin left the room without even turning to Rossweisse, who, in turn, glanced at him irritated.
"Odin-sama, just don't walk off without me!"
Rossweisse said as she chased Odin, who seemed to escape her more and more.
"Well, that old man of mine sure is slippery when he wants to be."
Vidar mused as Odin seemed to have escaped Rossweisse.
"Hah, Rossweisse has lasted the longest compared to the others who'd gained a position as Odin-sama's so far bodyguard. I believe that alone is commendable."
"You know, Brynhildr, if you wanted to hang around Kensei for a while, I wouldn't mind."
"That's not happening."
"Hah, I thought so. If that's the case, then I think that talking to Apollon might be interesting."
"Very well," Brynhildr replied on the outside, but on the inside. "I wouldn't want nothing more than to be with Kensei. But, I can't let these two out free walking about without being properly watched. But, all of this is making looking to our date all the more worthwhile."
It was surprising that Brynhildr could maintain a calm and serious look while having a girly fantasy playing in her head.
After things were said and done, Kensei and Lingqi found themselves walking down a hallway, with those of their groups going on with their own business. It would be the almost their last day in the Underworld, as the group needed to return to Kibou Town; so some things needed to be done.
"Hah, Ise does come up with the most perverted move."
"Yeah, that'd completely when over my head," Kensei and Lingqi were casually conversing about what was happening right during the Rating Game while thinking about that. "If it wasn't for that, then I can see Sona being the one who ended up winning. But, it all depends on the situation at hand, because the Gremory had more things they could do."
"No kidding, really anything can happen during a Rating Game. Though, the same thing could be said about the real fights that happen outside. But, it does open the perspective of the potential awakenings that's possible for anyone with a Sacred Gear or in general."
"You're right. Although, I believe that it's more about your area of focus, like the current Sekiryuutei being a pervert. If that's the case, then I wonder what would cause mine to evolve."
"Who knows, I know that we'll be…. …!"
"…!"
In that instance, both Kensei and Lingqi felt undeniable danger overcoming them, resulting in their survival instincts activating at high gear. Both of them could sense someone's approach, then a second later there was a hand aimed at him. Not hesitating at all, the two instinctively initiated their movement techniques to escape several meters from that spot in an instant. It wasn't one or two meters, to the point where Kensei and Lingqi appeared beside the workers the two ended up walking past minutes ago.
"What was that?"
Lingqi asked, feeling her near-animal instincts sounding off several alarms, something which caused her to manifest Shimon Mouko in reflex.
"I doubt that someone would be insane enough to attack this place with this many gods here. So, that must have been some kind of prank."
Kensei replied, feeling his blood pumping in that instance as Kurogane was retrieved on reflex too.
Clap! Clap! Clap! Clap!
Kensei and Lingqi heard clapping sounds as someone approached them. Soon enough, both of them saw a rather tall man with a buzz-cut and circular sunglasses, adorned in an aloha shirt and a jewel around his neck. Both could sense the divine aura radiating from the man, the two assumed was a god, a powerful one at that.
"Hahaha, well, you two passed that test," the god said casually, despite the pressure he unleashed on them and looked forward. "I thought that you two would be here, but I didn't expect that you'd walk down the same hall as me. It was such a convenient turn of events that I couldn't help myself from testing you two."
"Is there a particular reason?"
Kensei asked as the god stood in front of them with a calculating look.
"You know most people I do that to would feel contempt for me, but it sounds as if you two see this as a training opportunity. Hahaha, it sounds as if you two are martial artists to the letter."
"Eh," Kensei seemed confused about that comment, but then came to a realization and thought something in his head. "…."
"Pft, hahahahaha, what the hell?!"
The god in front of them started laughing at whatever Kensei thought in his head.
"I knew it, you're reading our mind."
Kensei stated as the god finished laughing.
"Hah, I didn't think that I'd laugh this much. Ah, whatever. I just wanted to see the person that Sun Wukong spent a month training years back. He mentioned that he met some Japanese kid and decided to train him after seeing his potential for Senjutsu. Then he mentioned that the same kid started making some waves in the supernatural world," the god said, then pointed at Kensei with a confident look. "Well, I can say that you didn't disappoint me at least."
"Then, I take it that you're Indra."
"Yeah, I thought that I'd come and see this student for myself. I heard that the meeting this time around will be between the leaders and gods. So, it'd be a pain if I had to wait just to talk for a bit," Indra stated, as he then turned his attention over towards Lingqi. "I can tell that you're thinking as to why I did the same for you if I came here to see Sun's student. Well, telling you now would be a bit boring. But, there's more of a reason that brat is hellbent on targeting you and your siblings despite the fact your grandpa can kill him."
"I can tell that you don't plan on telling me. But, that's fine, I don't plan on letting Jun get away with what he did no matter what the reason is."
"That's a good look," Indra said, then turned around and started waving his hand without hesitation. "Well, I just wanted to do that. If you guys want to attempt to fight me again, then don't be afraid to come at me."
Afterward, Indra came and went as he pleased, almost as if there wasn't anything or anyone in the world who could affect him. A breath escaped from Kensei's and Lingqi's mouths as the two noticed that the War God left the same area as them. Behind them, the workers around them seemed to have sighed in relief, as Indra's sheer presence caused the most panic than any experience in their life.
"Well, that was the most eventful experience with a god that we'd met thus far."
"Yeah, I don't even know what to take from that. I never heard much about what kind of god Indra was, but I guess that's one thought that became answered. But, now, there's some secret in my family that Jun looks to be aware of, which I'm not," Lingqi stated, as she caused Shimon Mouko to vanish out of sight, while that secret became stuck in her mind. She then thought about something else. "By the way, what did you think that make Indra laugh that much?"
"Oh. I thought…."
Once Kensei told her, Lingqi paused for a moment and then….
"Pft, hahahahaha."
Lingqi burst out laughing as she started holding onto her stomach laughing about what she heard right in that instance. After calming down, Kensei and Lingqi in that instance couldn't help thinking about their first encounter with Indra, one of the gods in the world who wields "ultimate-class power" among them.
A/N: And there goes the next chapter of DxD – The Last Amagiri, well, same as with the Rias vs Riser Rating Game, this was a complete run-through of Rias' and Sona's Rating Game. It was shown from the perspectives of those in the VIP Room, where some gods and leaders were watching the entire thing. There was some mention of the incident involving Kuroka, with Sirzechs hearing about Kensei's thoughts on the matter. In the end, Kensei and Lingqi ended up encountering Indra, who was also there during the Youth Tournament's first round.
I should point out that I do plan on adding two more people to Kensei's harem, however, the two, the same as Misaki, won't be officially added until further on into the story. I know that most think I'm adding too many people, but I planned out the relationships here. Also, as I said before, this and The Twin Dragons will be the final High School DxD stories that I'll be doing.
