Origins: Pollen, Petals, and Nitrox

A blonde haired girl fell onto a couch, exhausted after searching all day again. It was like her brother simply vanished into thin air! Chewing her gum, she let out a sigh. 2 weeks of searching turned up nothing, and Mirror vanished too. None of her calls had been answered, and nobody had seen any trace of her brother or his car since she started searching. The only bit of information she had was that his garage's last log noted that he was leaving for the speedway, but nothing was there.

Laying on the couch, devoid of movement except for her jaw and her chest rising and falling, she thought back to the last time she talked to him. She recalled him mentioning something called Nitrox. Maybe that had to do with his disappearance. Sitting up, she strode into the empty garage, eyes peeled for this 'Nitrox' stuff.

After searching around the disorganized space for half an hour, she stumbled upon a pair of tanks, labeled 'Nitrox'.

'Bingo.' She thought, grabbing both before walking over to her personal garage.

'If nobody knows where he is, I'll retrace his steps.' Kneeling under her vibrant orange car, she grabbed a wrench, making space for her only lead.

After lowering her flower-covered car back to the ground, she ran a quick status check, before grabbing her orange-yellow, visor-like glasses and sitting down. Closing her door and buckling herself in, she pressed her ignition button. Her car came to life, whirring quietly. With her destination in mind, she pulled out of the garage and into the cold night, determined to finally find her brother.

The old sign for the speedway no longer lit up and the straight road was in disrepair. Ever since flying became the norm, all the old buildings like this were simply abandoned and used sparingly by those who still cared.

After parking next to the large garage, the blonde girl walked over to the power switch, flipping it down. As the disheveled area lit up, the countdown over the starting line activated. As the board lit up, the 60 second timer began.

Running back to her car, she sat down and slammed the door shut and pressed lightly on the gas pedal, pulling up to the starting line. Remembering her brother's design, when she pushed the red button on her console, the Nitrox would activate, but he theorized that using it after reaching a plateau in speed would have the greatest effect.

As the timer reached single digits, the blue eyed beauty calmed herself, pressing on her accelerator and letting her engine give a whir of excitement.

'GO!'

The board lit up with green as the floral car accelerated down the strip, speeding along the even ground and slowly climbing up to her top speed. Seeing her red line start to slow down, she reached over to her Nitrox button and hesitated for a moment before reluctantly pressing the bright red button.

As the fuel began to flow, her car lit up light blue and her engine grew louder than ever before. Her rear wheels caught fire from the burst of speed, leaving orange flames behind her, illuminating the dark road. Seeing her speedometer climb up to 300 mph, something strange occurred.

The space at the end of the speedway began to warp like cheap plastic. After witnessing the distortion, it tore open, unveiling a purple and green portal.

'Is this where he went?' The blonde thought. Knowing this was most likely what she was finally looking for, she sped forward with a look of determination on her face. Approaching the portal, she disappeared in a flash of white light. With nobody else around, the mysterious portal closed, leaving no trace.
