Origins: The Assembly
Over a highway that stretched to the horizon and next to a camp with a large amount of construction materials, a large purple and green portal tore open. As the sound of the familiar portal took the attention of a nearby group, 2 fans rushed out of the portal and onto the road, before screeching to a halt. One car was orange and covered in flower decals, while the other was angular and lime green.
"Those must be the new competitors." Said the man with the cowboy hat, curious to see who would be joining them.
"Well let's greet them." Said the man in the red overcoat, dropping the materials in his hands which narrowly missed the toes of the man in the white hoodie.
"Hey, be careful!" The boy in the white hoodie exclaimed. The man in the leather jacket looked up from his laptop, before standing up and partially closing the top to see who just appeared, another boy in a gray sweatshirt following behind him. The boy in the gray sweatshirt had a look of recognition on his face.
As the gang approached the newcomers, their doors opened, revealing their newest drivers. The first one to step out was a blonde girl. Her hair reached her mid back, and she wore dark blue jeans and an orange sweater. Her socks and sandals left imprints on the dust of the desert, and she took off the orange visor over her eyes, showing them to be a beautiful blue, before placing them in her pocket. As her jaw moved constantly, a smile crossed her lips and a look of recognition spread across her face.
"Found you brother, you dumbass. No note or anything? I spent 2 weeks looking for you just to find out you drove through a portal without a car in the world?" She accused the boy in the gray sweatshirt.
"Hey, you can't fault me for forgetting about family at the moment! I wanted to see what would happen!" Aidan retorted, clearly knowing the mysterious girl.
"Wait, you two are siblings? What are the odds that two candidates are siblings?" The boy in the leather jacket asked.
"Astronomically low." Answered the boy in the red overcoat, astounded at the revelation.
"Where the FUCK am I!" Exclaimed the boy in the lime green car. Stepping out of the angular vehicle, a blonde boy wearing non-reflective sunglasses showed his face. He wore a black button up shirt with green palm leaves on them, and a pair of beige khakis shorts. His socks and sandals flopped as he walked to the gathering of drivers. Taking off his glasses, his vivid green eyes were filled with a hint of mischief.
"What is this, the cool guy convention?" He asked, only stirring confusion.
"I think the acceleron should show up to explain shortly, but we are all candidates to be the greatest driver ever. Can we have you two introduce yourselves? I'm Connor, the boy in the white hoodie is Ethan, the guy in the red overcoat and goggles is Will, the guy with the poncho and hat is Luke and the one in the gray sweatshirt is Aidan. Our corresponding nicknames are Robot, Wolf, Nut Job, Cowboy, and Silver." Connor explained, bringing the new drivers up to speed.
"I can go first. I'm Marie, I'm Aidan's younger sister. He calls me pollen because of the flower theme on my car, which is called Petal. The car is a Spectre, but it's modified heavily. My stupid brother just disappeared on me so I was trying to find him and ended up here. I'm not sure if I can be the greatest driver, but I'll try my best!" Marie explained, glad to be participating in something so important.
"Well I'm Cousin Ronnie! I'm everyone's cousin and definitely the best driver around. I drive a Jester RR but I just call it Jester." Ronnie said with a smug look on his face, lying through his teeth.
"I was the best driver around the block!" Ronnie knew this was a lie but nobody else was from his dimension, so he put on a pompous smirk, hoping they would fall for his deception
"Impressive Ronnie, but you I'll bet you didn't have any world records." Connor replied, impressed at Ronnie's supposed skill.
"No, I held, like, at least 3 records!" Ronnie hastily replied. This was a lie too, but the other drivers couldn't prove him wrong.
"Well let's go see what the acceleron has to say for us. It might be a while before we start the next set of races, but we're supposed to get some answers today." Will said as he ushered everybody towards the meeting spot.
After reaching the small vertical projector and a set of 7 chairs around it, the projector fired up, displaying the acceleron.
'Aliens!?' Ronnie thought, wondering what he just got himself into. After everyone sat down, the Acceleron finally spoke.
"Welcome all. I trust introductions have been done. That said, I don't recognize the boy in the bkack and green shirt. Curious. Regardless, I will provide the answers you hoped for today." The being spoke, causing Tonnie to internally panic and Will to feel giddy, a smile plastered on his face.
"The next set of races take place inside the Wheel of Power, and each symbol represents a race. Each symbol carries meaning, but I won't tell you what they mean, as you'll find out during the race. Each symbol contains a unique realm and track. Overcoming the challenge first shall reward you with an Accelecharger, which is a rectangular cartridge that will grant your vehicle powers based on the realm it is from. The realms will begin opening 3 months from now, so I suggest you finish your building, and place a large hologram of the Wheel of Power at the center. That is all I can tell you. Farewell for now, and may the best driver win." The acceleron finished, before the projector turned off.
"Well, aside from the building, I think some upgrades are in order. You heard the guy, let's get to work!" Will exclaimed, excited to begin.
"Yea!" Shouted everybody except for Ronnie, who was still confused as hell.
'Guess I'll get some answers later.' Thought Ronnie, following the crew to begin a lot of work.

Timeskip
After 3 months of solid work, everybody was relaxing in the lounge. Aidan stared up at the golden wheel, curious as to what awaited them, while Ethan, Will, Connor, and Luke were playing a heated game of QuickSprinters. Ronnie was practicing some trick in the corner while drinking cheap booze and Marie was staring at her phone while laying down.
After building the facility Will had planned and adding the equipment the Acceleron told them too, the septet of drivers had added some upgrades to their vehicles. Everybody now had AT tires, letting them have some traction anywhere, and everybody gained an Accelecharger port in anticipation of the powers they supposedly held. Every car also gained an Emergency Driver Return, which was an emergency button that would eject a driver from a realm when pressed.
Aidan had given his car the ability to Cloak itself, becoming invisible, switched out his Nitrox 2 for Nitrox 3, and made his car more Accelecharger resistant, letting him use up to 2 per race. Kana had also been busy, creating a copy of herself, named Lana, to manage the facility and oversee races externally.
Will had added a Plow and a deployable saw blade to his truck, giving him some extra utility. After adding an extra Nitrox 2 tank, he also developed a ramp for his truck bed.
Ethan exchanged his Nitrox 2 tanks for 3 tanks of Nitrox 3, and added some fire jets to his exhaust pipes to deter tailgating. Luke added a deployable Spearhead to the front of his rat rod, as well as a Grappling hook, courtesy of Connor. Meanwhile, Connor added 2 more tanks of Nitrox 2 and changed his EDR to eject his car from the realm with him.
Marie decided to add Magnets to the bottom of her car, to avoid leaving the track, and also added Jump Jets, copied from her brother's car. Finally, Ronnie also added Magnets, upgraded his EDR to eject his vehicle, and added an extra tank of Nitrox 2.
While anticipation was thick in the air there was nothing more that could be done at the moment until the realm started, thus the Chosen Few found themselves passing time with games.
"Bullshit, you froze me on a slope!" Will yelled as Ethan laughed, claiming his second win, before the next round started. Controllers clicking furiously, Aidan looked at the golden wheel lost in thought. He thought he had placed some of the symbols, but they were simply mesmerizing to look at. Suddenly, his eyes widened in surprise.
The Wheel of Power began to move.

Well we've finally reached the start. All 7 drivers are ready to go. Also it might take longer for me to make chapters because of work. These new chapters should hopefully be longer. I hope the new/updated segments are good, I'll be adding another in the next chapter. Prepare for realms because while the first few will be 'by the book' they'll get crazier over time.
