Chapter 17: The Blood Moon Rises
The castle loomed ahead.
Dark. Ancient. Reeking of death.
Yusuke didn't slow down.
Raizen matched his pace. The old man's energy was faint, but still there—like a dying ember in a storm. Flickering, but unbreakable.
"Gotta say," Raizen muttered, eyes on the fortress ahead. "Didn't expect my punk-ass son to go full warpath like this."
Yusuke scoffed, rolling his shoulders. "You took too long to come back. Now you're just here for the finale."
Raizen smirked. "That so?"
Yusuke didn't answer. Didn't have to.
Because ahead of them—standing at the gates of the castle—
Kageyami was waiting.
And he was smirking.
Yusuke's eye twitched. Oh, this motherfu—
"Urameshi." Kageyami's voice was smooth, confident. "You actually came. I was starting to think you'd just take your little human and run."
Yusuke grinned. His teeth flashed like a wolf's.
"I don't run, dumbass. I hunt."
Raizen chuckled beside him. "Nice one."
Kageyami sighed, shaking his head. "A shame. I was hoping we could talk business."
Yusuke cracked his knuckles. "Here's my deal: I break every bone in your body, drag your ass through the dirt, and then piss on whatever's left."
Kageyami sighed dramatically. "Always so violent."
Then he lifted a hand—and the entire ground rumbled.
The castle gates exploded.
Shadows swirled.
And from the darkness, hundreds of demons emerged—claws out, fangs bared, eyes burning red.
Yusuke smirked.
Raizen sighed, rubbing his neck. "Man, you always gotta be so damn dramatic."
Kageyami grinned. "Try not to die too quickly."
Yusuke stepped forward—his energy erupting like a goddamn supernova.
"Nah, try not to cry when I shove my foot so far up your ass you taste my shoe, bitch."
And with that—
THE SLAUGHTER BEGAN.
