"Just like Eternia to have issues involving hidden threats and dark magic that could harm the land and people. Wonderland itself wasn't a stranger when it came to having an unnatural threat that had been kept hidden from the people due to the threat it could loom over everyone. Which had been guarded by Eternia's finest warriors after the Evil Queen's army had been defeated by King Randor and the kingdoms of Eternia. There were secrets about a hidden ally that Raven's mother allied with someone who came from Eternia and was unable to work together after she was apprehended. The warriors that severed the ancients battled the serpents and imprisoned them within a temple in Wonderland, with the addition of remaining in the imprisoned world to keep it from terrorizing the land and taking over. Zodac was the last warrior to take up the duty of guarding the prisons. Now? It had been undone."

Wonderland-Zodak's Temple

The mountain that Zodak lived in after the war between the kingdoms and Evil Queen had now been invaded by a lone snake that had managed to find his way here with the idea of freeing his people from captivity. Making his way to the deepest part of the temple was Kobra Kahn holding the Storybook of Legends as it helped him on his journey from Ever After High to here.

"Having traveled through the abandoned well that was hidden in the forest nearby Ever After High. The lone snake men entered the temple of the last cosmic enforcer to release his captive people from years of imprisonment."

Kobra read off from the book as it was his guide in knowing what was happening since the book showed him what he'd expect during the release of the Snake Men. Reaching down a hallway with drawings of a great war happening between the Evil Queen and the rest of Eternia, looking at the images showing how epic the battle was.

"Taking a moment to stare at the memorial of the fallen queen and her forces. Kobra Kahn was unaware of the traps that lay ahead to prevent him from freeing his kin."

Continuing to read from the book and didn't notice on the ground was a trap set for him. Feeling one of his steps pressing toward the ground, Kobra heard a mechanism going off as an array of arrows flew out of the walls in an attempt to shoot Kobra. Relying on his reptilian reflexes, Kobra dodged the arrows and made his way to the other side where he got out of the way of the firing range.

"And they say books can't save someone's life."

He complimented the Storybook of Legends on giving him a heads-up about the traps that were set to prevent him from freeing his people. Continuing his mission and avoiding any more traps that were ahead of him, Kobra had managed to make his way to the deepest part of the temple to find a cavern filled with cocoons that kept several individuals encased to prevent them from breaking free.

"I have returned my brothers; I have returned to bring back the legacy of our people."

Kobra announced to the snakes and presented the prisoners with their salvation, a key that he took from the fallen statue of Zeelahr that would release them. Looking ahead to see a snake statue that is connected to the cocoons, he placed the key into the mouth and felt the teeth hitting his arm. Letting out a yell from being bitten, the blood that came from Kobra Kahn traveled into the statue and slowly into the cocoons since it took blood of their own to reawaken the snake men. Removing his arm to hear the cocoons breaking, Kobra saw one blowing up as well as a road that came from within it.

"General Rattlor."

Calling out the first of the Snake Men to be free and walking away from his imprisonment. He was a male humanoid rattlesnake that was bigger than Kobra and showed more muscle than him, his green eyes stared at the one to release him and hissed toward the smaller snake man.

"Kahn. The runt of the tribe, you've finally done something useful."

He mocked the snake before hearing the breaking of the other cocoons to see their brethren waking up. Each of them was more frightening than the last of how different they appeared amongst one another. There was a snake man with a long tongue and another with arms that were elongated, the last one was a female with an attractive face before shooting out a set of snakes from her eyes and mouth in an attempt to be scary toward the person responsible for releasing her.

"Tung Lashor, Sssqueeze, and Snake Face. It has been so long since I saw you all again."

Rattlor responded to his siblings as they looked at one another and questioned how they were released. The trio looked over at Kobra Kahn who was responsible for their freedom and groaned at how humiliating it was for them to be freed by him.

"All we need now is to free our king. And to that, we all must write our names within the Storybook of Legends."

Kobra informed them about what was needed to free their leader from his imprisonment since he was more powerful than the rest of them. Ignoring the snake's solution to freeing the king, the trio decided to use their methods as they looked down below their feet and started to pull the rocks away. Continuing to dig a hole leading to their leader, they found a sarcophagus symbolizing their leader with it appearing like a snake. Despite their ruler being imprisoned within the coffin, they could sense his power brewing from within and showed no signs of leaving him behind if they didn't want to face his wrath.

"So, what exactly do we need to wake our king again? I wasn't listening at the time since I was thinking about all the people I want to amaze with my looks before turning them to stone."

Snake Face questioned Kobra Kahn about how they could awaken their leader as he stood out in front of them where he showed them the Storybook of Legends. Despite it having innocence and goodness coming from within, the snakes were able to sense strong magic that could aid them in getting revenge for King Randor and his allies who defeated them during their war with the Evil Queen.

"If this is the means of returning King Hiss to his prime. Then we will do it, right?"

The general asked the others if they would write their names in the book to help restore their leader as well as become the warriors that would destroy their enemies. Rattlor looked at Kobra and hissed toward him to bring the book over for them to write their names within the pages to accept their destinies and the stories they'd follow. Opening the pages for them, a gust of air rushed out which ignited several torches around the room in a dramatic manner.

"King Hiss was our leader, though buried in the dark, his story lives on. If we bring back that legend, his venomous thoughts will give us a new start!"

Kobra started to sing which confused the others as to what he was doing since it appeared to be the way in reawakening King Hiss. Rattlor looked at the book where a feather pen appeared in front of him showing his past when he served under his king. Writing his name on the page, a beam of magic rushed toward the rattlesnake and started to change him.

"Yes, King Hiss will help us win with all his might. No more playing nice, no more playing nice!"

Continuing his song as the snake trio saw how the book restored their general to his prime which made them rush over to sign the book. Writing their names without thinking about the consequences, the same magic that made Rattlor strong went toward the three as it started to give them back their lost strength before they were trapped within their cocoon prisons.

"Let's bring back a legend! A legend, to help our fight. Let's bring a legend, a legend. Of darkness tonight!"

He praised the return of their cold-blooded leader as the magic coming from the book started to give back the snakes their strength again. Taking a moment to look at their true selves and relishing the return of their power, they started to destroy their surroundings after being trapped in the darkness for so long. Rattlor did nothing but cross his arms and look at his king's sarcophagus who waited to be awoken.

"No one on Eternia could dream of our sinister scheme. They all will be astounded when their kingdoms are gone and our victory won!"

Rattlor announced as he slammed his tail to the ground forcing the others to stop their senseless destruction and return to their spots. Walking over toward King Hiss's tomb and placing his right hand over the lid, he grips his hand tight to where they see venom leaking from his palm and lands on the cover.

"We just need venom to make our king arise. King Hiss shall rise, King Hiss shall rise!"

Rattlor roared within the room making the walls echo with the chance of their leader hearing him. Seeing how committed Rattlor was to reawaken their king, they did the same as they placed their hands over the tomb and bleed their venom onto the lid.

"Let's bring back a legend! A legend, to help our fight. Let's bring a legend, a legend. Of darkness tonight!"

They sang along with Rattlor and looked over to Kobra if he would shed venom to reawaken King Hiss. Feeling nervous about what was asked of him, the snake man walked over and gripped his fist to where he winced at the venom coming from out of his palm and landed on the lid.

"Oh! Let's bring back a legend! A legend, to help our fight. Let's bring a legend, a legend. Of darkness tonight!"

All of them sang and saw how the venom they spilled started to radiate a glow around the sarcophagus as well as the eyes staring at them started to glow. Moving away to see their king slowly waking up, they started to bow toward the revival knowing that it would be wise to show respect than defiance.

"Let's bring a legend, a legend. Of darkness tonight!"

Finishing the song as they saw the lid flying off from the tomb and landing onto the ground. The snakes heard a hissing sound emerging from within as they saw emerging from the sarcophagus was a set of snakes that were connected to a set of legs. Taking their time to stretch their bodies, the snakes started to form together to become a pair of arms connecting to a solid body and head. The king looked around to where he was as well as his Snake Men bowing before him.

"Who is responsible for my return."

Questioning the five snakes to see if one of them had the strength to liberate him from his imprisonment. Kobra Khan walked over with the Storybook of Legends and kneeled before him while presenting it before King Hiss.

"My liege. It was I that came back to free you and the others, to bring back the glory of the Snake Men."

Answering his king's question for being responsible for bringing him back to life and showing him the way to restoring his power. Looking at the book and feeling its magic, the snake king backhands the book away from him which startles Kobra as he becomes confused at rejecting it.

"That accursed book was the reason for our downfall! Telling who was capable of standing against us and being imprisoned in this accursed temple!"

Shouting at Kobra before grabbing him by the throat and raising him in the air for bringing a weapon from the enemy that was responsible for his humiliating defeat. The others watched at how angry King Hiss was as well as his left arm changing into a serpent in the chance of eating him after sleeping for so long.

"It was necessary in bringing you back. It has been thrown away by a princess who defies her story, the goodness that stopped us is diminished."

Kobra wheezed out his explanation behind using the book to free him and the others from their imprisonment. Sniffing the snake man out to see if he was telling the truth, King Hiss smelled no lies coming off him and dropped Kobra on the ground. Looking behind him and walking toward the lid of his sarcophagus, he used his magic to change it into a staff for him to use in battle and channel his magic.

"General. Scout ahead to see where we are, the rest of you. Destroy this prison! Take your revenge by showing the rage you will use upon our enemies once we reveal ourselves!"

Giving out commands to the snakes as they roared at the anger their king was showing and planned on using to the people responsible for their defeat. Rattlor made his way out while the others remained to destroy their prison and dig their way to the surface to see where they were. Meanwhile, Kobra Khan rushed over to the Storybook of Legends since he would need it to see what would happen to them next. Not noticing behind him was his leader staring at him with his red eyes, not knowing what he'd do to him.

"Kobra Khan. While you are not as strong as the others, you have done a great service. You will be the book's keeper, nothing more. Nothing less."

Granting him the honor of protecting the book rather than fighting like the others. Hiding his emotion at not being able to show his serpent strength toward the people responsible for his people's imprisonment, Kobra nodded toward King Hiss and thanked him for keeping the book. Walking past the serpent, Kobra saw his king growing a cape with several snakes and him letting out a sinister laugh at how he would get his revenge upon King Randor and the rest of the kingdoms that had beaten him.

Later-Wonderland Forest

Having escaped from the mountain with fear of what Kobra Khan could do to Zodak. Alister and Bunny took the blinded boy somewhere where they wouldn't be seen by the beasts of the forest as well as the Queen of Hearts soldiers who'd patrol around the area. They were near a pond where the water was able to help Zodak regain his sight from the acid that was used on him. While it was able to heal the wounds that he'd been given, it didn't help regain Zodak's vision.

"I don't understand it. Wonderland water can help anyone walk, talk, and help a couple dance together."

Alister commented about how the water wasn't helping Zodak see again which made him concerned if he'll regain his sight again. It didn't faze him as the young warrior kept his composure and grabbed his helmet to put on. His body started to glow once he placed the helmet on and was able to get his sight again.

"As long as I have my helmet on I can see. But that's no excuse for taking me away, I have to go back and stop Kobra from bringing back the Snake Men."

He responded about being dragged out of the temple when he was needed to keep the snake from reviving his people. The Wonderlandian said nothing since it was better they avoid a confrontation than engage in one that they weren't ready to face by themselves.

"Not trying to be mean but he could have taken us out with that mist and acid of his. Better that we retreated than get eaten alive, which is a thing with Snake Men? Them eating people?"

Asking Zodak about the myth that Snake Men would devour anything in their path after they defeat their enemies. The young warrior didn't answer since it brought back memories of how vicious the snakes were when they fought with the Evil Queen. Before they continued their conversation on whether they could handle Kobra, they heard something moving in the bushes causing Zodak to bring out his staff to see if it was one of the Queen of Hearts knights. Only for it to be Bunny in rabbit form as she was breathing rapidly at the running she had been doing.

"I took a lap around the forest, there were no signs of any wild animals or red knights coming our way. But I did notice the animals moving away from the mountain that Zodak lived in. They were running scared."

She told the boys about what was happening while they hid near the pond as the news made Zodak grip his staff at it being a sign that King Hiss had risen from his sleep. It was an instinct for animals to flee when threatened by a predator that was bigger and looking for something to eat. Alister was getting concerned about how this would affect the Queen of Hearts since she'd take this as a threat toward her kingdom, not knowing what to expect from King Hiss and his snakes.

"How exactly are we going handle this? We barely can face the Queen and her army, now we need to worry about a cold-blooded race that'll take over and invade the other kingdoms with how dangerous he sounds."

Alister responded that how they were in the middle of two factions where one was mad but kept things under her watch and another who'd raze Wonderland to the ground to escape and get revenge on King Randor. Having no other choice but to listen to the advice Alister offered about helping out in their struggle, he decided to take them up on the offer as he sat down and began to meditate.

"I don't think it's a good time to start relaxing. I also heard about the queen's personal knight scoping the area to find anything to keep her entertained back at the castle."

Bunny warning the boys about one of the soldiers who was considered the best was looking for people or beasts wherever the mad woman needed entertainment. Zodak wasn't frightened by the statement as the couple watched the boy's body glow as he was focused on finding a solution for their problem.

"We need help. And I know one person who could assist us in stopping the serpent and ending this Wonderland madness once and for all before a new war begins."

He responded to Bunny on using his powers to find someone that could hear their plead of emergency for what was happening in Wonderland. Continuing with his mediation, Zodak's eyes light up as he looked upward into the air as well as stretching out his arms in a manner to request for help.

"Maddie Hatter. Hear me."

Calling out the name of the person that could bring help that could tip the scale in their favor against King Hiss and the Queen of Hearts. Alister and Bunny were shocked on the assistance they'd be kidding and confused at how the daughter of the Mad Hatter could offer against the two factions. However, what they didn't know was that she knew someone that had the same power that helped stopped King Hiss when he assisted the Evil Queen in the war, the new champion of Grayskull.
