Lilith was tired.

They were at it again.

Another fight against Adam.

Another sham to play along with.

Lilith sent a flurry of stabs with her trident. Each strike, aiming to strike at Adam. The speed she attacked with was a blur, a speed that normal people could barely track with their eyes.

It meant nothing to Adam as he used his golden wings as a pseudo shield against the strikes. The strikes, causing loud metallic screeches to echo throughout the room, before Adam forced his wings outwards, pushing Lilith back giving him enough time to wind his golden axe upwards for retaliation.

Lilith grimaced and began to anticipate the strike.

Adam's golden axe swung fast, descending down to cleave her in half only to miss her by a mere centimeters as Lilith back stepped just in time. As it impacted on the marble floor of the Embassy, it gave enough time for Lilith to drive her trident dead center unto Adam forcing him to leave his axe embedded on the floor in order to dodge just in time.

Adam's wings began to glow, their golden color slowly shining more brilliantly than they usually do. Each individual feather, seeming to sharpen themselves from the holy light flooding into them.

With no time to dodge, Lilith held her trident to block the incoming strike.

A loud crash echoed in the Embassy.

Lilith had impacted onto the wall. Her strength, not being enough to stop Adam's wing strike with her trident.

Lilith felt her vision swim, her mind a whirl from the strike.

But this wouldn't deter her. Her vision was blurred, her mind not fully aware of her surroundings yet her body knew enough to move in just the right way as it always had.

Adam, having already pulled out his golden axe from the floor, charged against Lilith with a mighty swing before being stop dead on his tracks as Lilith propelled her trident to stop it, using the gaps in between the trident's prongs to catch the axe, locking the heavy weapon in place.

She felt herself tire of the routine they've done for so long. For centuries they've done this same song and dance without fail, without any sign of stopping.

Even as Adam's rage and anger began to simmer down from the blazing heat it once.

Even after the realization from the last Extermination Day, the realization of her shared plight with Adam.

She still played along. Still let herself be caught up in the routine. A routine she no longer had any stake in. No reason to even bother to participate anymore. And along with it she lost her reason to try. To even give this sham of a fight any more effort, any more energy than she needed to muster.

Her pride no longer had any hold on her, no reason to force herself to play along.

Adam begins to force his weapon downwards, causing a loud screeching of metal scratching against each other to be heard, sparks flying from their weapons as the force. Slowly the weapon began to inch further closer to her, her arms struggling to keep up.

This could've been avoided. She no longer had any reason to pretend anymore. She could've just admitted to her own waning memory, one similar to his own, let it all out and maybe, just maybe for once they could just talk.

No more pretending.

No more yelling.

No more fighting.

And yet her mouth was clamped shut. The words in her mouth, refusing to be let out.

She was left behind again. Alone in the ruined remains of the Embassy, whose broken walls threatened to collapse at any moment.

Lilith sighed in defeat. She couldn't say it. Couldn't even muster the energy to say those simple words. She had stayed silent throughout the fight, with not a single motion of her lips even attempting to stop it regardless of her want to do so.

Once more Sera was the one to put a stop to their farce of a fight. And from how her face looked it seemed even she was tired of having to stop their constant yearly fights.

Lilith almost pitied her for having to deal with her and Adam's nonsense.

"LILITH! LILITH! OPEN UP!" A voice shouted, accompanied by the loud knocking of wood. Lilith knew it was Lucifer, no other person would've dared shout her name let alone refer to her by just her name alone.

Any other time she would've headed the request, especially with how worried her dear husband sounded but she didn't. She didn't want to. She was in no mood to even talk, even to her husband and so she stayed in her place. Not a single muscle moving in the slightest.

"LILITH PLEASE!" She ignored her husband and sunk her deeper into her bed, into the mountain of blankets and pillows she used to cover herself, the many pillows being used to cover her ears to her husband's calls.

She really hoped Lucifer would just stop bothering her for now. She just…needed some time for herself. She even put up a barrier to her room just to make it extra clear she wanted to be left alone.

"Ugh so we're doing the silent treatment then? Alright fine don't blame me for the broken door, dear. Sorry."

'He wouldn't dare!'

Lilith could hear the sudden crackling of fire before a large echo of glass shattering filled the room.

Annoyed, Lilith peaked from her bundle of blankets and pillows to see just what she expected. The place where the large door frame of her room should be had a large gaping hole replacing it, the edges were charred and still burning and then there were the remnant shards of her barrier on the floor, slowly dematerializing.

"Wasn't I clear when I said I needed some time to myself, husband." Lilith seethed, annoyed at Lucifer for daring to go against her wishes.

"And I listened, I let you have as much time as you needed" Lucifer sighed as he restored the charred hole back to what it once was before.

"So why?"

"Because it's been far too long now and I'm worried that you being cooped up in here is doing more harm for you."

"...It hasn't been that long, just leave me be. I need some more time to think alone."

"Lilith…it's been six months." Lucifer deadpanned.

All Lilith could do was sink back into her blankets and pillows.

She could hear Lucifer sigh.

"Lilith, seriously I know I said I wouldn't pry further but please, what exactly happened. I'm worried." Lucifer pleaded, she could feel his hand on her blanket yet no motion to pull off her blanket of her body could be felt.

"...nothing happened." Lilith let out weakly.

"Huh!?" Lucifer was confused. "What do you mean nothing!? Something must've happened! You've never been like this before, well at least not to this extent but still!"

Lucifer sighed. "Please Lilith, just tell me what's wrong."

Lilith peaked out of her blanket. Lucifer was kneeling down, his face filled with worry. Lilith felt awful, a knot on her heart twisting at the sight. As much as she wanted to keep it to herself. As much as her pride wanted her to. She had to, for Lucifer.

"...I'm tired, Lucifer. Tired of fighting Adam.Tired of having to play along with this sham. Of the insults and screaming. I'm just…just so tired." Lilith finally admitted.

Lilith pulled herself off her bed, the literal mountain of blankets and pillows falling off her, the numerous pillows scattering on the bed and onto the floor.

"...You've never been tired of it before. I mean I get it, three thousand years of the same routine would be tiring but I've never seen you complain before, so why now?"

"...He forgot. Adam forgot." Lilith admitted.

"What!?" Lucifer shot up to his feet, bewildered at what she said. "He forgot!? He…oh, oh."

Lilith could see Lucifer finally understanding her predicament as realization dawned on him. "Just like us, he forgot. His memory has waned, I know for a fact it is." Lilith recounted. "His eyes, his face, his screams, his actions, none of it has the same anger he once had. It's like he's just pretending…just like I did."

If what she said before wasn't enough, then this, what she said fully drove home how sure, how certain Lilith was. That Adam truly forgot.

"I see. Then, what do you want to do now?" Lucifer asked, already knowing what Lilith would say.

"I want to tell him. I want this farce of a feud to end."

"And?" Lucifer smiled knowingly.

"And? Well, maybe just…talk, I guess?" Lilith admitted sheepishly.

"Just talk?" Lucifer teased.

"I don't know, ok!" Lilith shouted back.

Lucifer could only giggle at his wife's reaction.

Lilith seethed at her husband making fun of her before she just sighed and sat back on the bed.

"I really don't know, Lucifer." Lilith admitted once more. "But it's just…I don't know why but it feels…wrong. It feels wrong that we should hate each other. I don't want to hate him, even pretending to be feels so tiring."

"...I don't fully understand it but if it makes you happen then I'll be right here rooting for you." Lucifer said as his hands held hers. It was soft, gentle, and comforting to her. "Whatever makes you happy, Lily."

Lilith could only smile at the gesture before giving her husband a kiss.

"So…will you finally get out of your room now." Lucifer said with a clear golden blush across his cheeks.

"Mmmmh…no, not yet."

"...Lilith, please."

"Just another month should do, I promise~" And with that Lilith went back into her bed and quickly wrapped herself in the remaining blankets and pillows.

"Seriously Lilith I can't do any more paperwork alone! And the other Sins are no help either!" Lucifer tried to pull her off her bed with no success.

Ah! So that's what this was about. And here she thought her husband was being considerate. Lilith could only giggle in her blankets and pillows as Lucifer tried in vain to get her off her bed.

"You'll do fine~, you're the King of Hell, afterall~." Lilith giggled to herself.

"LILY!" Lucifer shouted in exasperation but not a muscle in her body moved.
