Episode XVII (17): Of Faithful and Steadfast Hearts
Two hours earlier...
Thomas ran to the base and he reported the situation and Lon noticed the bite marks that Thomas recieved.
Another settler looked at Thomas's wound. "We need to get this treated."
Thomas pulled himself away. "No, we need to help Smith! The savages captured him!"
One soldier pointed out, "You don't know what diseases those little bastards carry!"
Ben argued, "Thomas is right. We've got to do something."
Ratcliffe overheard his men. He saw an opportunity in this. He would convince them that this was another reason to attack and kill the Indians.
"We've got to save Smith," Thomas said again. "He'd do the same for any of us."
"Thomas is right," a soldier said in agreement. "We can't leave Smith among those
Wiggins felt pity for Thomas as he asked, "First question. What should I do about that puncture on your wrist?"
Ratcliffe cried interrupting the situation, "So we shall!"
Thomas held out his arm as heard the man continuing his rant, allowing Wiggins to clean and bandage the wounds left by Vandela.
Ratcliffe ranted, "I told you those savages couldn't be trusted. Smith tried to befriend them, but they wouldn't listen. Well, now I say it's time we rescued our brave comrade!"
Hearing that, the soldiers cheered and began preparing for battle.
As Thomas heard Ratcliffe's rant, he felt something wasn't right about all this, but nevertheless he had to save his comrade.
Unbeknownst to the settlers, Diaval was watching the men preparing for battle like a hawk.
As Diaval began flying, he saw smoke rising in the village as we as the settlement and he began hurrying back to the Dark Masters.
Diaval flew into a dark portal as thunder roared between the smoke shadows as if indicating of bloodshed that was to come.
In the castle, Maleficent heard the sound of her crow cawing. "Diaval," she said. "What happened?"
Diaval continued cawing, telling Maleficent that Ratcliffe had just declared war against the Powhatan tribe.
Maleficent was very angry with Ratcliffe and she snarled, "That avaricious pig has disobeyed me for the last time!"
Turbo asked, "What are you going to do about this?"
Maleficent took a minute to compose herself. "Nothing," she answered.
"What?" Turbo asked in disbelief.
"I can't do anything that might change the events," she said. "I have to let them play as they must."
Maleficent added, "Besides once that man is subdued, we'll deal with him."
"But the settlers will be taking him back to England," said Jafar. "Besides, I'm sure King James will be expecting him."
Turbo stated, "That penguin is now our only hope!"
Meanwhile in the islet of Grandmother Willow, all Hell was breaking loose as the wildlife began panicking about the war.
Danyal asked, "What is going on here?"
"The animals know that war is about to begin," said Figaro.
Danyal muttered, "Good Lord."
Mahad asked, "What can we do to help now?"
Natius commented, "I could have Zander bite the rope."
Zander yelled, "No. That would get me killed!"
Pocahontas was at the islet as well, informing Grandmother Willow of Smith's execution. She felt that all hope was lost. Meeko gave her Smith's compass, a part of him for her to hold on to. As she looked at it, the arrow began spinning. Then she remembered a dream she had about a spinning arrow.
The arrow finally stopped, pointing to the path she had to take.
Danyal asked, "What can we do? Should we wait?"
"No, the time to act is now," Figaro said. He was ready to have the heroes turned back into humans.
Danyal cried, "Let's go!"
The heroes followed Pocahontas to the site where John Smith was going to be executed. Ratcliffe and his army also arrived, ready to fight. Just as Powhatan was about to kill Smith, Pocahontas got down and placed her head close to his.
"If you kill him, you'll have to kill me too," she said.
"Daughter, stand back." Powhatan ordered.
"I won't!" Pocahontas protested. "I love him, Father."
The chief was stunned at his daughter's words.
There was silence for a moment, then Pocahontas said, "Look around you. This is where the path of hate has brought us." She got down and said, gesturing to Smith, "This is the path, I choose, Father. What will yours be?"
The chief began to see the wind flying towards him as if a spirit was telling him to let go of his anger and hatred towards the English settlers.
"My daughter speaks with wisdom beyond her years. We all come with anger in our hearts, bur she comes with courage and understanding. From this day forth, if there is to be more killing, it will not start with me."
He looked to his soldier and ordered him to release Smith. The man cut the restraints holding Smith's hands behind his back and he and Pocahontas began embracing each other. Seeing this, the Natives and the Englishmen lowered their weapons, now seeing how senseless their anger and hate towards each other had made them.
Ratcliffe cried, "Now's our chance."
"No." Thomas protested.
"What?" Ratcliffe asked in disbelief.
"They let him go," said Thomas. "They don't want to fight."
"It's a trick! Can't you see?" Ratcliffe asked.
Once more, he ordered his men to attack, but they wouldn't. Enraged at this, he snatched Thomas's gun and aimed for Powhatan. Smith jumped and pushed him away, taking the gunshot.
Thomas had enough and he grabbed his gun back from the man and he punched him in the face hard enough to give Ratcliffe a bloody nose and he snarled, "You shot him. By the way, that punch is payback for insulting my brother who was killed when we first encountered the Natives."
Ratcliffe protested, "That was Smith's own fault. One more thing, it's your fault that your brother died."
Thomas wouldn't deny that he should have looked out for his brother and protected him, but he was done being a coward and ready to stand up for what was right.
"Put him in chains for his treachery!" Thomas shouted to his comrades.
Ratcliffe got as close to Thomas as he could and snarled, "I'll see that you all hang for this!"
"And gag him as well." Thomas added, and they proceeded to take Ratcliffe away. The man kept shouting that they would all pay for their insubordination, but they didn't care.
Danyal looked at Thomas's gun that had a stylized Deer protruding his antlers forward and she asked Figaro, "Is that the symbol of Steadfastness?"
"Yes." he answered.
Danyal looked at the sight of Ratcliffe wrapped in chains and gagged!
Bianca grinned at the sight. "Now that the pig has been taken care of, how do we awaken the elements? Or better yet, what about this trial of faith Danyal is supposed to take?"
Danyal looked at the ship and she noticed a shining light on there.
Little did they know that Marius was about to fire a weapon. He was disguised as a man wearing a cloak that covered his penguin face.
The weapon that he had in his flippers, would unleash a magical net to turn the victim into an animal that would fit him or her the most it also had a sweet smell of poppy fog to render the victim unconscious along with a line to bring them back to him like a fishing line. Fortunately for the penguin, the trigger was big enough was wide enough for his flipper to fire.
He laughed, "One magpie coming up."
She asked, "What the-?!"
The net weapon fired!
Danyal tried to move away, but ended up getting snared by the net and turned into a magpie again.
Danyal asked, "What the hell is this?!"
She began to hear a retracting sound and she cried under her breath as she felt a sensation of being dragged away from the shore, "Mother of God."
The net began to be pulled back towards the ship!
Marius pressed a button and held it down to make the reeling go faster as he saw the heroes trying to rush over to the shore. Natius took out the dagger!
Marius didn't want any interference and he cried imitating Ratcliffe, "Fire at those brats!"
This confused the men, because Ratcliffe was still subdued.
Marius forgot about that and he cried imitating a more familiar voice, "Fire at those brats! Now!"
He continued to hold down the reeling button!
The men were afraid to fire because they thought it would give the Natives the wrong impression that there was going to be a war.
"Don't just stand there, you fools! Attack!" Marius shouted.
The men didn't comply with the order!
Marius kept holding down the button to reel in his catch!
"Someone stop him!" Jeanette cried.
Bianca threw her shurikens, calling on sea gulls surrounding the ship. The sea gulls began to swarm, bite and peck at Marius's head.
Marius kept holding down the button as he continued to ignore the pecking as if wanting the reward so badly.
He felt himself being pulled as Danyal began to fly forward to the shore!
He smiled as he activated a mechanism that unleashed poppy fog into the inside of the net to subdue any victim ensnared in his net, 'Oh no you don't, bird lady!"
Thomas didn't like what was going on and felt he had to do something. He began climbing the ladders on the ship and came aboard and began fighting with Marius.
Marius fell on the deck floor as Thomas tackled Marius causing the penguin to drop the net gun suddenly he felt his webbed feet being lifted off the deck floor and he was backed up against a mast!
Marius began screaming as his net gun was sliding away from him as he began struggling, "No! Let me go!"
Thomas interrogated, "Over the past few days we have been hearing about a thief in our fish supply. Are you the one who committed that act of theft? What are you anyway?"
Marius removed his hooded cloak, revealing himself. "I am Marius. Ratcliffe and I were sent by the Dark Masters to deal with a group of children. But Ratcliffe was more interested in finding gold and killing savages, so I had to do all the work."
Thomas interrogated, "Were you the one responsible for eating the fish supply?"
Marius answered, "Yeah. That buffoon Ratcliffe kept holding back on his end of a deal."
Thomas had heard about the Dark Masters. Upon hearing about them, he was afraid of them. But he wasn't going to just sit and let Marius hurt the heroes. "I'll not let you hurt these children."
"Please," Marius scoffed. "Like Ratcliffe said, you're a slipshot sailor and pitiful excuse for a soldier. Not only that, you're clumsy and cowardly."
"That's in the past," Thomas told him. "I'm done being a coward." He looked at the heroes and said softly, "I couldn't save my brother, so I've got to protect these children."
Thomas commanded, "Throw that bird into the brig. Gag him as well because he has the ability to mimic other people like a parrot."
Danyal began to feel lightheaded and dizzy as the poppy fog was invading her senses and she felt herself blacking out.
Natius cried out to her. "Danyal, pull yourself together!"
"Come on, snap out of it," Mahad cried.
Danyal heard the voices and in spite of the effects of the poppy fog, she began to fly forward to the shore dragging the net gun across the decks floor, much to Marius's surprise and he thought to himself, "I thought I pushed the button long enough to knock out an average person!
The net gun fell overboard and Danyal began to feel something opening up the net!
It was Nakoma cutting the net and trying to free her. "It's all right. You'll be okay."
Danyal flew out and collapsed on the ground unconscious changing back into a human.
Marius struggled against the men as he tried desperately to get his net gun back to him!
As Marius was being subdued and taken away, Thomas left the ship and began making his way back to shore. He approached the heroes and asked concerned for Danyal, "Is she going to be all right?"
Danyal began to look around as her vision began to clear.
Danyal stated, "I hope that whoever shot that thing faces a harsh punishment being affiliated with an enemy."
Thomas replied, "I had just subdued a fish thief and the possible shooter. He looked like a black and white bird, but his eyebrows were yellow."
Jeanette commented as she recognized the species of penguin, "That's an Eastern Rockhopper Penguin. What was he doing here?"
"He said he was sent by these Dark Masters." Thomas answered.
Jeanette stated, "Ratcliffe affiliated himself with the enemy forces. Where is he now?"
"He's been subdued and locked in the brig," Thomas answered. "His accomplice, too."
Jeanette turned to Figaro and she asked, "Should we interrogate the bird?"
"I'll make a request to have him sent to King Mickey," he said.
Mahad noticed the net had some wire and he pulled it over to the shore and he took the net gun off the ground as sea water was dripping all over the gun piece.
He handed it over to Figaro. "I think this should be taken to the castle too."
Mana commented, "That weapon needs to be away from that bird."
Nakoma began speaking to Thomas. "I misjudged you,' she told him. "I thought all people like you were enemies and a danger to me and my people, but I was wrong. After seeing the way you stood up to that man and how you stopped that bird to save these children. You're really brave."
Thomas felt flattered. "I just couldn't stand any more violence."
"He's just being modest," Jeanette told Nakoma. "After all, he doesn't get a lot of praise."
Mahad asked Nakoma as he noticed a white stylized cross with a star in the cross on her hand, "What is that?"
"I don't know what it is," she answered. "I only just discovered it when Kocoum's killer saved Powhatan."
Thomas cleared his throat. "I need to tell you sonething, my lady." He knew this would be difficult to explain and just ad hard for Nakoma to take in, but he knew that she deserved to know the truth. "John didn't kill your comrade." He removed his hat and said, "I did."
"What?" Nakoma asked in disbelief.
"I saw John sneaking into the forest. Ratcliffe ordered me to follow him and to kill any Indians if I saw any. I didn't want to, but when I saw John fighting with that man, I was worried I might lose him if I didn't do something. After I killed that man, John told me to leave. I didn't know what was going to happen and I got scared, so I ran."
Nakoma couldn't believe what she was hearing. This meant that Smith was
. At first, she felt anger towards Thomas as she listened to his story, but her anger quickly turned into understanding. She sensed the truth in his words about being scared and just worrying about a friend. She was the same way. She did what she did by sending Kocoum to find Pocahontas because she was scared for her friend.
"I'm not asking you to forgive me," Thomas told her. "I just hope you can understand."
Nakoma gave him a warm smile and gently took his hand. "I do," she said sincerely. "I do understand. And I forgive you."
Happy to hear that, Thomas smiled back at her. Then the mark on his gun appeared on his hand. "My hand has a mark like yours does," he gasped.
Mahad stated to Oliver, "The two elements of Faith and Steadfastness are awakened."
"Elements?" Thomas asked. "Is that what these are?" he asked, gesturing to the marks on his and Nakoma's hands.
Mahad stated, "Yes. Or rather they are symbols for the virtues of Faith and Steadfastness."
Figaro went to the brig and found a bound and gagged Marius.
Figaro stated, "You have some explaining to do with King Mickey."
He began getting a message sent to King Mickey about Marius and to have someone come and take him away.
A portal opened up to reveal a broom servant!
"Take this criminal to King Mickey's castle for questioning," Figaro ordered. The broom servant saluted and took Marius by his bindings and passed through the portal.
Omar stated, "It's time for us to continue searching for a history teacher."
"What about Smith and Pocahontas?" Mahad asked.
"They've discovered their elements." said Oliver.
"What about Danyal's dream?" Bianca asked.
Danyal asked Oliver, "She's right, what about that?"
"I don't think there's much more to be done here," said Figaro. "Ratcliffe and Marius have been apprehended and the elements have awakened."
Suddenly, the doe from Danyal's dream appeared before the group.
Danyal asked, "Why are you here?"
"Your trial begins now," the doe answered. "What have you learned coming here?"
Danyal began to think about the events that had transpired and she stated, "I had to have faith in myself and others. Is that correct?"
"To do that, you also had to learn to be unselfish and understanding of those around you," the doe answered. "Just as Thomas and Nakoma have proven to each other just now."
Danyal stated, "Thanks. I am ready to help these guys find Mr. Virgil. I may not know these guys well, but I can't let that stop us from finding our way home."
At that moment, the symbol for the element of faith appeared on Danyal's hand. "You are ready." the doe said. "Good luck, Danyal."
Danyal asked Figaro, "What elements are in Turbo's home world?"
"I'm afraid there are none," Figaro answered. "Ralph does not have an element because he was programmed to be the villain of his game."
Bianca asked, "Why the hell did Grimhilde pick him?"
Natius speculated, "It's possible she saw him as a candidate for her element of envy."
Omar honked the horn!
The heroes got into the van and as they began to fasten their seatbelts, something crossed Natius's mind.
"I don't understand something," Natius was saying. "If there are no elements, why is that world in danger? Granted, it's the home world of a Dark Master, but, I don't know. I guess I'm just wondering, why would the Dark Masters elect someone from a world without elements?"
"It does seem strange," Zander admitted.
Mahad speculated, "Maybe the little bug cheated his way into power and lied to Queen Grimhilde about his reputation."
"What does it matter?" Bianca asked. "We won't have to worry about him once we beat him and give him his just reward."
"Yes, and once Turbo's been defeated, Frollo will be the only one left," Mahad concluded. Most of the heroes shuddered at the mention of his name.
Danyal stated, "It's tempting to use a sinning tree to get rid of that disgraceful swine, Frollo. The tree is from a demon world that has the ability to ensnare the victim's mind and fills it with hallucinations of wickedness while it sucks away the victim's life and the best part is that the tree won't stop until the host is dead."
Bianca began to laugh as she knew what Danyal was talking about.
Oliver glared at Danyal and he stated, "That would be disapproved by Mickey. Besides using an item outside of their respective domain can cause damage to the environment around the item. Also none of you have that power."
Bianca commented, "It was only used once on a very cruel man. So therefore, it can't help us,"
Omar started the ignition of the van as a magical portal leading to Sugar Rush opened.
Danyal commented, "Off to Sugar Rush. The home of a candy themed world that would make a dentist angry."
Bianca laughed, "I know, right?"
Omar began driving through the portal leading to Sugar Rush.
Meanwhile at the Forbidden Castle, the four Dark Masters were discussing about what to do about Marius.
Turbo asked Maleficent, "Should I get Marius back?"
Maleficent answered, "No. However, I will let you take his spare net penguin forgot his spare gun in his quarters again."
"What about Ratcliffe?" Jafar asked.
"Let his men send him back to England," Maleficent ordered. "King James will be expecting him."
A cruel smile crossed Turbo's face. "Well, then, I'll just help myself." He was pleased that he was finally getting his chance to take on the heroes.
Maleficent warned Turbo, "Do not make the same mistake."
"Hey, I'm a Dark Master," he boasted. "I can do better than him."
"Be warned that if you fail, Frollo will have to deal with them," said Maleficent.
"What?" Frollo asked.
"She's right," said Jafar. "You'll be the only one left if Turbo should fail."
Turbo cried, "Not fair!"
"Maleficent, I would really much rather not," said Frollo.
She crossed her arms and asked, "Does this have to do with those children from that rival domain?"
"No," he lied. "I'm worried about having to face the Firebird."
Turbo asked, "Why?"
Frollo sighed and asked, "Must we go over this again? I can't protect myself from such a powerful entity the same way the rest of you can."
Turbo commented, ,"That would be your problem. "
"Don't worry," Maleficent assured him. "As long as you're on sacred ground, the Firebird cannot harm you."
There was only one place Frollo knew that was sacred and that was the cathedral. He figured that as long as he was within its walls, Natius couldn't unleash its power.
Frollo asked, "What about that mentally unstable girl?"
"Don't tell me you think she may be too much for you to handle too," Jafar teased.
"Breaking her may not be so easy since she wished for her feeble mind to be protected," said Frollo. "Besides, she gained a new power by awakening as a warrior of faith."
Turbo commented, "At least I can do whatever I can do to help with that."
"How do you mean?" Jafar asked.
Turbo answered, "I'm not going to mess up like that penguin!"
"Just don't get too cocky," Jafar warned.
Turbo commented, "I'm going to make sure that those brats are captured!"
Judge Doom walked into the throne room and he asked, "When will it be my chance to get those brats?!"
Maleficent replied, "Patience."
Jafar asked Judge Doom, "Is it because you want to gloat about possessing a history teacher? You had your fun luring them so you can wait. By the way, I have to ask, where did you get those poppy fog bombs?"
Judge Doom answered, "I used my new host to get a toon fox in the Warner Domain to steal a bag of small bombs filled with poppy fog from Oz."
A toon anthropomorphic fox with red fur and yellow eyes. He was dressed in clothes suitable for a poacher consisting of black pants, a dark tunic and some equipment for his notorious work. His name was Reynard Vulpen. He had been shelved away for many years and he became bitter towards Mickey, his half-brother Oswald, and anyone connected to them.
"This is outrageous," Jafar cried. "Using soneone from the Warner Domain? Your actions could be at possible risk for causing a conspiracy that would put the Domains at war! That's the last thing we need."
Reynard yelled at Judge Doom, "Be thankful that you didn't get caught by the higher ups."
Judge Doom gloated, "Says a toon fox that was shelved away by the Disney Kingdom."
Reynard argued, "Says the hypocrite that possesses an ordinary man."
"Enough," Maleficent ordered.
Reynard stated to Maleficent, "I would like to see if I can capture those brats."
Judge Doom argued, "I wanted to catch them."
Maleficent replied, "Like Jafar said you had your fun luring them."
"Besides, Turbo's been whining about wanting a chance long enough," Jafar added.
Judge Doom asked, "What can I do for the time being?"
Reynard asked, "Am I going to bring those brats to the castle or what?! It's bad enough that I had to get get locked up for failing to impress someone who would at least green light my story."
Maleficent pointed out, "You are lucky enough not to be tossed in the Wasteland for your failure!"
Jafar was against it. "Maleficent, I'm sure that those kittens are suspicious about how poppy fog was used to subdue the magpie. If they see someone from the Warner Domain-,"
"I know," she interrupted, sharing his concerns. "But after some consideration, I saw we give this fox a chance."
Reynard's eyes shined with hope. "Really?"
"Yes," she permitted. "You will accompany Turbo."
"What?" Jafar asked. "But, Maleficent-,"
"But nothing," she interrupted. "I have a feeling that those children may have the same idea of enlisting help from the Warner Domain. We should too."
"Are you crazy?" Turbo cried. "In the beginning, you were against it because you thought it would lead to wars and conspiracies. Now you're supporting it?"
Reynard stated, "I am the one who got the fog by tricking that blasted duck into purchasing them and it worked out well.
Judge Doom confessed, "I threw down a poppy fog bomb on the magpie when I had eye contact with her. I think it worked when she fell into the portal."
Reynard yelled as he released his partially retractable claws and he scratched the face of the man Judge Doom was controlling in a harsh manner causing Judge Doom scream in pain, "You idiot! Those bombs are not easy to find in the Disney Kingdom! I would have that duck help again with the purchases, but I have to stay hidden at all cost. If those guys caught me, I would've been banished to the Wasteland for good. Especially when going into a domain outside where I hail from."
"This is your chance to help capture the children," Maleficent told Reynard. "Do you want it or not?"
"I do, but I'm afraid of getting caught," the fox answered.
"Then you'll need a disguise," Jafar suggested. "Turbo will be in disguise once he returns to his world."
"That's right," Turbo said, having now taken on the form of King Candy.
Reynard looked at him in disgust. "You look like the Mad Hatter having been altered by a deluded fan."
Turbo commented, "It's a costume to blend in. What did you expect?"
"It's no good," the fox commented. "Those kids will recognize you."
"That may be, but they won't give me away," Turbo boasted. "Besides, no one will believe them."
Reynard asked, "What are you saying?"
"All of the arcade game characters don't know that Turbo still exists," Turbo was explaining. "They'll laugh and jeer at those brats and think they're crazy."
Reynard smiled, "Oh. Now I get it."
Jafar approached Reynard. "Now it's your turn," he told the fox.
"What kind of disguise should I have?"
Turbo answered, "You need one to blend with the environment of Sugar Rush."
Reynard's eyes widened. "You're not going to turn me into a sweet treat, are you?"
Turbo answered, "No. You can be the first animal racer."
Reynard smiled, "Nice. Though I need a name. Any ideas?"
Judge Doom yelled asking, "What about me?!"
"How about Devil Dog?" Turbo suggested.
"I'm a fox, not a dog," Reynard pointed out.
Reynard suggested, "Why not Flame Fox?"
"It's got to be something candy themed," said Turbo. "After all, sweets and desserts are the main thing in Sugar Rush."
Reynard came up with a name and he asked, "Why not Mint Fox?"
"That'll do," Turbo said approvingly. "Now for your disguise."
"Leave that to me," said Jafar.
Jafar slammed his staff on the floor and Reynard was as white as an Arctic fox and he was dressed in clothes suitable for a racer.
He asked, "Can I take one or two of the poppy fog bombs?"
Turbo stated, "The net gun has a mechanism for that stuff."
Reynard took the gun and loaded it. "I'll use this in case those kids interfere with our plans."
"Don't use it until I tell you to," Turbo ordered. "Otherwise you'll blow our cover."
Frollo asked, "Just curious. What is the gun loaded with?"
Maleficent was surprised. "When did you get here? And where were you all this time?"
"I was still in the castle," he answered. "I just needed a little time to myself."
"To answer your question," Reynard was saying, "the gun is loaded with poppy fog substances I got from the Warner Domain."
Reynard added, "Back in the 1940s Walt tried to create a story based on the Chanticler play, but Sword in the Stone took the approval of Walt. As time passed, I was left to collect dust and I became embittered by the abandonment and helplessness. I had to resort to theft to get some attention. When I met Judge Doom, he offered me some treasure from the Treasury of the Forbidden Castle. I had to get a duck to get some of the poppy fog bombs and let me tell you, those bombs are not easy to get."
Judge Doom asked, "What about me?!"
Reynard stated, "You should research information on a flame brat."
Jafar yelled as he sat on the his seat on the council table, "Get out!"
Turbo and Reynard left for Sugar Rush to deal with the heroes.
"That's outrageous," Judge Doom protested.
"I also suggest you keep yourself scarce," Maleficent advised. "We have a new subordinate we don't want to be suspicious of you."
"Who is it?"
"A former student of your host," she answered. "If the boy sees the man you control, the man's spirit will struggle to regain control."
Judge Doom sulked and started to research!
Judge Doom asked Maleficent when he saw an article about Adalric Roseraven and Satoshi Takahashi, "What do these two men have anything to do with that flame brat?"
"They are the boy's distant relatives," she answered.
The judge began to scan through the reading and he looked at the sentence of Satoshi being sent home to California because his older brother had died in a bell tower of a church located in a French town.
Judge Doom began to remember Satoshi. He would often visit the Ink and Paint Club to see Donald and Daffy Duck duel on the piano. However he would tend to stay away from Judge Doom and Satoshi hated the prejudiced judge.
Jafar added, "The dragon was rumored to inhabit the rifle that Takahashi used to kill German Soldiers during his service in the United States Army in the Hürtgen Forest, only to helplessly watch his platoon leader being gunned down. He was being sent home because he had an older brother who died inside a bell tower because of one man's arrogance after the Invasion of Normandy."
As the judge read the contents, he became engrossed in his research.
Jafar asked, "What's engrossing you?"
"All this history," he answered. "This is the same information I tried getting from the boy, but he wouldn't cooperate."
Jafar asked, "Is it because he always kept it to himself?"
"I suppose," Judge Doom answered.
Judge Doom asked, "Is the death of Adalric Roseraven part of the reason why we weren't able to get the Dagger of Devotion?"
"Only Grimhilde knows the answer to that," said Jafar. "Unfortunately, she was defeated by those children."
Maleficent stated, "I asked Grimhilde about the Dagger and she told me her minions were unable to locate the dagger, but they found the lifeless body of Adalric and where the dagger stabbed the ground. It was a few inches away from him."
"How disappointing," said the judge.
Jafar asked, "Why? You wanted to use the dagger?"
"No, it's disappointing that Grimhilde failed and had to have her place taken by a cheat," said Judge Doom.
Jafar stated, "If he messes up you can feel free to lash out on him."
Judge Doom liked the sound of that.
Jafar asked Judge Doom, "So you ever encounter Satoshi Takahashi?"
"Not personally," he answered. "I had seen him many times, but didn't actually stop to interact with him."
Jafar commented, "I found more information about him. After witnessing his platoon leader's death, he developed some form of shell shock. You could use that against the flame brat."
Judge Doom asked, "How can I do that?!"
Maleficent figured she knew. "Your host will likely break if he's forced to relive such an experience, should he break free. Warn the boy that if he reaches his teacher, the man will awaken in a state of madness due to the trauma he faced."
Judge Doom asked, "What do you mean?"
She grinned and said, "I believe somewhere deep in his soul, Simeon Virgil is being forced to relive the traumatizing experiences he faced while he is under your control. Warn the boy that if you should release the man from your control, he'll awaken in a state of madness. In fact, he may be mad enough to end his own life."
Judge Doom smiled, "Perfect and he can answer me about that Grimhilde Estate."
Judge Doom asked, "Should I ask this Takahashi man about the Hürtgen Forest the next time I see him?"
"No," Maleficent answered. "Keep your sights on the boy."
Judge Doom asked, "Why?"
"I don't want to have any more outsiders involved in all of this." she answered. She turned to Frollo and said, "Especially after what happened in your world."
Frollo didn't need to ask what she was referring to. He just turned away. Although his encounter with the small group from the Warner Domain didn't cause him to reveal his and his comrades' plans, it didn't change the fact that he putting himself at risk for getting into trouble.
Judge Doom replied, "All right. I will join your ranks one day."
A toon anthropomorphic hyena wearing a guard's uniform began to laugh!
Maleficent sighed in annoyance. "What do you think you're doing here? We're in the middle of an investigation."
The hyena commented, "Sorry. I'm back from my post. By the way, Scar enjoyed that swine."
The Dark Masters grinned. "We figured he would," said Jafar. "I don't suppose he was nice enough to let you and your friends have a share?"
"A little bit," the hyena answered. "We look forward to having more in the future."
Frollo rolled his eyes. "That means you hope more of our minions will betray us and be put to death."
"If it means food for us, yes." Shenzi replied, "Also so that pork on the man's face helped with enticing our boss. Scar hates humans with an immense fury."
"That doesn't surprise me," said Maleficent. "To him, just about any human is a hunter."
"Well, hunting was always one of Gaston's pasttimes," Jafar recalled. "He would keep the hides of his kill as prizes and decorations."
"That's one of the many things Scar hates about hunters," said the hyena. "And when you guys gave him that swine's sorry carcass, he was happy to feast on him."
"Yes, yes," Jafar said. "Off with you now, Shenzi."
"Yes, sir." And she returned to her comrades Banzai and Ed.
Frollo grunted. "Those creatures are annoying."
"Yes, but at least Shenzi is the smart one of her team," said Maleficent. "That makes her more trustworthy."
Banzai ran into the throne room and he stated, "Honest John is coming to."
Jafar asked, "What?! Did he suffer any memory scramble?"
Banzai answered, "No. He remembered the figure that attacked him in the Cave of Wonders."
"Well, who was it?" Maleficent asked.
Shenzi replied, "The figure in question was a blue anthropomorphic tiger with white eyes dressed in light blue and white clothing."
The Dark Masters looked at each other in confusion. "Could it have been a guardian spirit of the Cave of Wonders?" Maleficent asked.
"That's impossible," said Jafar. "No such entity exists in that place. There's only the tiger-headed gatekeeper."
Frollo pointed out, "That doesn't mean that the gatekeeper can manifest into a physical entity if the unworthy person is lucky enough to reach the chamber of treasures."
"The gatekeeper would swallow them the instant they would set foot past the entrance," said Jafar. "As such, there would be no need for a guardian spirit."
Frollo asked, "What if that figure is a manifestation thanks to that girl's Pen of Dreams?"
Jafar gave it some thought. "Yes, I suppose that would be possible."
Jafar asked, "Why would she do something like that?"
Maleficent had a speculation. "Probably to prevent anyone from finding your lamp and taking it."
Frollo stated, "At least it failed. Hopefully this figure will disappear."
"I don't know," Maleficent said with uncertainty. "Spirits, no matter what kind they are, they can be mysterious."
"With the most valuable of the treasury having been taken, I would say the guardian spirit served its purpose." said Jafar.
Frollo stated, "Let's hope that Turbo and that fox doesn't mess up."
Author's Notes: Looks like the heroes are heading for Sugar Rush. Will they defeat Turbo or will it be game over for the heroes? Tune in next episode. I am pleased to announce that my older sister is getting married in late October and I'm her maid of honor so I'm going to be very busy during this month. I would like to give special thanks to MillenniumPrincess for help with this episode.
Reynard Vulpen is an OC based off of the fox with the same name. Disney tried to create an animated movie based on a play from 1910 titled Chanticler by Edmond Rostand while incorporating a fox named Reynard as a villain like Honest John from Pinocchio, but Walt ditched the idea. To this day there are character designs by Disney Legend and one of Walt's Nine Old Men: Marc Davis. There was a live action/animated movie titled Rock-A-Doodle it was a loose adaptation of the play that became a commercial and critical failure. Also Reynard is the name of the fox in allegorical folk tales from the middle ages.
