Chapter 13

Assassin Deku

This will be a bit of a quick chapter as well. And I'm not going to add on a bunch of the extra side quest elements from the main story. Like the tomb hunts, or those types of things. This time it's more about the battle for Firenze against the Templars. With maybe a little bit of fun on from one of my other stories. So on with the show.

(No POV)

"Man. Kinda gruesome to see Midobro killing off Bakubro last time." Kirishima says while the group was funneling back in after the break. While plenty were wondering what could happen next, a few of the teachers were concerned about the fact that as well. "He only did it to stop the Pazzis. It's hard to say what they are planning, but if they are this connected to dangerous actions….. Then they need to be stopped." All Might says with a bit of a gulp.

Nezu concurs with the statement. Saying, "yes I agree. Besides in this time there does seem to be a need to take the laws into their own hands. Given the law enforcement is very corrupt." Though both teachers do worry that this might inspire their students to take more vigilante actions themselves. The Bakugo Rescue Team had already done that once, and the trio that battled Stain had done much the same as well. But those thoughts were pushed aside as the screen lit up once more.

Izio returns to the villa for a moment to discuss matters and the codex with his uncle Mirai. With the latter noting that the page Izio had was not decoded by his father. "Leonardo da Vinci. A friend." Izio says while crossing his arms. He then notes that there is a code behind the code on the wall. "Some kind of map. Where is it supposed to lead?" "Your father and I managed to make out bits of a prophecy scrawled across these pages." Mirai says before detailing the stories from the assassin Altair.

While most of the students don't follow along too closely, Nezu is quite intrigued at this conspiracy behind the main story. Though some of the contemplative students like Momo, Itsuka and Izuku wonder what the map could detail.

After this, Mirai shows an underground room. Detailing the greatest heroes and leaders of the Assassin Brotherhood. And how they protected humanity when it was most threatened. And how the armor of Altair could be Izio's if he found the pieces to reach the locked away armor.

With his explorations of the villa done, Izio makes his way back to Firenze. Once there, he heads straight for Leonardo da Vinci's workshop. "Izio? You're still alive!" Leonardo says while Izio looks over the workshop and how it has expanded. "Look at this place! The past two years have been kind to you." Izio says with a smile. Izio then brings up wanting some help from Leonardo. Who is more than happy to oblige.

"Whoa. Didn't realize that much time had past." Shinso says with a scratch of his head. A few of the others agree but note that the story is probably jumping around to the major points. With Bakugo and Kamakiri noting, "it'd be boring if we just saw the day-to-day bullshit. This way we can see the good fight parts."

"Aha! You've found another one! How exciting!" Leonardo says before taking the page to decipher it. He notes the use of ancient languages. But he eventually makes headway and notes that it is a manual for different assassination techniques. Once decoded he notes a strange item hidden in the background. "Can you make the item for me – while I try what is on manual fragment?" "Take it. I'll have my assistant set up some dummies for you to practice with. Eh, Mineta!" Leonardo shouts before getting back to the designs he saw.

Upon hearing that name, most of class 1-A is surprised. But also laugh that Mineta is just regulated to a background part of Leonardo's assistant. "Hey I'm not complaining too much. Maybe he'd teach the other me some cool things." Mineta says with a shrug. Ida agrees, while commenting that he hopes this version is less uncouth than the version before him.

Outside, Izio practices assassinating a variety of ways. Hiding in haystacks, hanging from ledges, even leap assassination from rooftops. Once he is done, he checks in with Leonardo who has finished a second hidden blade.

Kamakiri grins before saying, "he can kill double the enemies this way. Maybe I can make something like that for my arms." He tries it a few times, but he can't make the blades just right. While some of the others note the coordination, strength and skill needed for some of the moves Izio is performing. "While I don't intend to kill, some of these techniques could be useful for Aizawa and me." Shinso says with a scratch of his chin.

"There is someone I need to 'see' while I'm here. I cannot approach him publicly….. would you know a way-" Izio starts before Leonardo interrupts him. "La Volpe." Leonardo says surreptitiously before Izio asks how he would find the fox. "Perhaps, near the Mercato, where the thieves dwell." Leonardo says quickly. Izio thanks his friend before heading to that location.

Ida and Momo both are a bit appalled that their classmate would associate with thieves. But Toru notes, "he's already kind of wanted anyway. Not like he can change the fact he killed a guy in broad daylight." Ida looks like he's about to retort, but he thinks for a second before agreeing with the invisible girl.

When Izio reaches the Mercato, a thief quickly steals from him and tries to get away. But Izio is hot on his trail. He catches up on the thief atop a roof and tells the man, "I really have not interest in hurting you. So give back my money and we'll call it even." "Not so fast." Izio hears behind him. He turns and sees a man with a tan hood behind him. He has a calm smile and seems to radiate confidence and skilled experience.

"Thousand yen says that is La Volpe!" Kaminari shouts, but no one takes him up on the bet. Mineta dryly commenting, "dude no one is that dumb. It was obvious the thief was leading Izio to the guy in the first place." Kaminari deflate upon hearing his friend call him out.

When questioned on who the man was, he responds with, "they call me many things. Murderer. Tagliagole (cutthroat). Thief. But you may call me La Volpe. At your service, Messer Izio." Izio is of course confused, and La Volpe tells the young man that it is his business to know everything that happens in the city. "It is the very reason you are here, no?" "Indeed. I need to find someone. To know where he'll be before even he does."

When Izio gives the name Francesco de Pazzi, Volpe tells of a meeting with a group from Rome. "Do you know where it is to be held?" "Ma certo. Let me know when you are ready, and we will go." La Volpe tells Izio before giving the young man back his money.

"Well at least there is some honor with this thief." Jurota comments as the audience watches Izio run across rooftops to follow La Volpe.

La Volpe points Izio to a specific church as where the Templars are meeting. As well as telling the young man of the catacombs beneath the city. "They'll lead you to a place where you can eavesdrop on the meeting. Grip that stone handle, turn it and pull it down." With the instructions given, Izio thanks the thief and heads for the catacombs of the city.

Once Izio is in the catacombs, he works his way around to the hidden room within the church to listen to the plan. There he sees the Pazzi getting weapons to arm their men for the plot. The plot to murder the Medici family in front of the Duomo before Sunday mass.

Upon seeing the monks as well as hearing the plan for murder on Sunday Mass, Ibarra quickly drops to her knees and prays, before calling the men planning the murder blasphemers. "To do such a thing! And to have the pope supporting it as well!" Ibarra starts but can't even finish her rant about how they will burn in Hell for these actions.

Masaru though seems uneasy. Noting that they shouldn't underestimate their enemies. "Did you already forget how your own son was murdered?" Masaru says with a sideways look to his brother. Francesco looks annoyed before saying, "we'll suffer no such surprises this time maestro. You have my word." The hooded man nods before saying, "Molto bene. I should be off. I've some other business to attend to before returning to Rome. Gentlemen. Tomorrow a new sun rises over Firenze. May the Father of Understanding guide us." With that said by all, the Templars leave to rest before the attack.

Izio talks to La Volpe, telling of the plan to murder the Medici family. Volpe is shocked by the audacity, but Izio sees this as an opportunity. "It is a chance for me to blend with the crowd, get close and stop this madness." Izio says, but La Volpe is still worried. With Izio assuring the man that he will not let the Pazzi take over Firenze.

Bakugo shakes his head before saying, "he should have taken those guys out before hand." Izuku oddly agrees. Wondering, "why is my other self waiting to attack the Templars?" "They work in the shadows young Midoriya. What's more, they more than likely have too many guards for Izio to engage before they can slip away." All Might notes. With Nezu coming in next to say, "they more than likely also have secret ways to get in and out of their meeting place. And it would take too long to track them."

The next morning, Izio is among the crowd and sees Lorenzo de Medici arriving with his wife. As well as seeing the man's brother Giuliano arrive. Suddenly, Francesco and the man who provided the weapons Bernardo Baroncelli rush forward to attack Giuliano. The man gets a cut that draws a bit of blood, while both men try to harm the younger brother more. Lorenzo spots this and draws his own blade but is attacked by the monks aligned with the plan.

Once Giuliano is knocked to the ground, he pleads with the Frencesco to stop. Be he will not listen. He cries out as he stabs the man over and over, "No mercy for you, dog! Die! DIE! DIIEE!"

"Now I see why this guy is Bakugo's father. The say the exact same things." Todoroki says with a smirk at the explosive blonde. Who gulps a bit at seeing the bloodshed. He can't even be angry as he knows he's said the exact same things to intimidate others during combat.

While the rest of the groups is even more unsettled than Izio's first kill, as the man just continues to stab the dead Giuliano. Eventually a few lose their lunch, or snacks, into the trash or some bags that Momo had provided. "I hope Izio puts a stop to this soon." Tsuyu says while still looking green in the face.

With the younger brother dead, Francesco draws his sword and attempts to engage Lorenzo. But Izio steps in and defends Lorenzo from the onslaught of the Pazzi troops. Once enough of the men have been routed, Francesco runs off to regroup his forces. Lorenzo though is tired and bleeding as well. Izio though helps the man to his home so he can gather men he trusts.

Once there, a Medici guard attempts to make Izio give him a password, but the head of the Medici tells him off. "By the Thrice Greatest! Come in. Quickly! The city is at war! Hurry!" The guard says while helping Lorenzo into the family plaza. When Lorenzo asks why Izio helped him, Izio responds with, "you are not the only one who lost a brother to the Pazzi. My name is Izio Auditore." "Ah… You're Hisashi's son. Your father was a good man. He understood honor, loyalty." Lorenzo says while holding his wound.

Itsuka thinks back and realizes that Izio was supposed to meet with Lorenzo. "But the man was away when Izio's family was captured and killed. Only warning Uberto about the consequences of his actions." "Oh yeah. That was during the time where we saw Izio beat the shit out of Monoma for cheating on Eri!" Nejire says with a big smile on her face. This gets a few laughs from the rest of the audience while Monoma grumbles off to the side.

When a Medici guard arrives and warns of the Pazzi attacking the Medici supporters in the city. "My survival will mean nothing. I have to… Francesco de Pazzi… Save our city Auditore… Kill him." Lorenzo says while trying to stand before commissioning Izio to finish the betrayer of Firenze. Izio nods before heading out.

Nezu nods before saying, "finish this fight young Auditore." The rest agree with Izuku wondering what his other self plans to do to end Francesco de Pazzi.

When he reaches the Palazzo della Signoria, the fighting is intense. But Izio is focused elsewhere. On the roof of the building is Francesco is watching and sees Izio arrive. "You again! Why are you not dead?! Men! Slaughter him!" Francesco demands before Izio defeats the men and hides in the shadows. He then slips up the backside of the Palazzo and kills most of the guards with his hidden blades. Countering as well as striking with the weapons. After he kills a few, the rest run away.

Bakugo and Kamakiri nod with some respect to Izio. "He beat their asses and scared them off. That's the kind of hero I want to embody later." Kamakiri says. Bakugo thinks much the same, but he knows he'll have to wait to get back into the hero course.

Atop the Palazzo, Francesco calls for more guards. But as Izio says, "no one's coming. Its just us now." Izio stalks toward the man who climbs the rampart before demanding that Izio stay away. He then leaps off the top fall into a haystack. Once Izio has escaped from the guards, he runs after Francesco. The man keeps screaming for Izio to leave, but he does not let up his pursuit. He catches up with the man and finishes him with a leaping stab to the back. "Now Firenze will judge you for what you have done." "It's over…. It's all over…." Francesco says before his life slips away. "Meglio accontentarsi di questa vita, che aspirare ad essa nella prossima. Requiescat in Pace." Izio says to the man as he passes.

With Izio's prayer being said, Ibarra also bows her head to pay respects to the dead. The rest of the audience follows suit. With a few wondering what Izio will do next.

Once this is done, Izio returns to the Palazzo with Francesco's body. Down in the square, Masaru is rallying the people. Crying out 'Liberta' from atop his horse. But suddenly, Francesco de Pazzi's body is dropped with a noose around his neck. And his body stripped down to his undergarments. When Masaru sees this, he turns and runs from the city of Firenze. While Izio and the Medici guards celebrate from the top of the building.

"Not what I expected, but I guess it works to show that the war and battle is done…." Ojiro says with a little gulp. Juzo agrees before saying, "now though, Izio has more people to go after." A few don't see what he's getting at, so the softening user just smirks before saying to wait and see.

The next day, Izio meets with Lorenzo on the Ponte Vecchio. The same bridge he fought Katsuki de Pazzi long ago. Lorenzo recounts how his life was saved on day after falling into the Arno River. By a young Hisashi Auditore. "And so began a long and prosperous relationship between two families. Yours and mine."

All Might smiles before saying, "young Auditore's father was a good man. He had no reason to help the young Medici. But he still jumped in to save his life. Worthy of being called a hero." The rest of the students agree and smile at Lorenzo recounting the tale to Izio.

Izio nodded before Lorenzo continues. Apologizing for not being able to save Izio's brothers and father. "You have nothing to apologize for. I believe Masaru de Pazzi played a part in their deaths. The attack on you as well. I need to find him." Izio says, and Lorenzo only mentions that he fled before he could be arrested. As well as the other conspirators. Izio thinks for a moment before saying the others would know the man's whereabouts.

Juzo just smiles and a few others nod or clap at his foresight. Though Monoma tries to make some big spiel about his classmate's insight being better than 1-A's. But Itsuka stops him quickly with a chop.

Once he has the names, Izio plans to meet with Mirai to find the other men. Before he leaves, Lorenzo gifts Izio with a codex page. Izio visits Leonardo again, and the inventor decrypts the page. "Its another blade design. For delivering poison." Leonardo says before Izio gives him the original hidden blade. Once done, Leonardo had already put some poison in the blade. But he advises to seek out a doctor for more. "Poison? From a doctor?" Izio questions. With a smile Leonardo says, "in high enough doses that which cures can kill." With the matter done, Izio returns to the Auditore villa.

"Again it is kind of unsettling to see this version of Leonardo da Vinci making tools that can kill." Momo says with a bit of a shiver.

When he arrives, Mirai notes that everyone is looking for Masaru de Pazzi. But when Izio gives his uncle the list of other conspirator names, they can quickly find the men responsible. "These men are sure to lack Masaru's resources, which means they will be easier to find. I will put my scouts to work." Mirai says. Before Izio leaves again, Mirai has the young man meet him on the practice field. To teach him about disarming opponents.

Mirio smiles big before saying, "he was pretty good at that. Even without using his foresight, he could disarm and disable opponents in battle." Mirio and Izuku think back to some of their training under Sir Nighteye with a smile.

Once the news of the conspirators is passed down, Izio heads off to deal with the men. One by one they fall. Bernado Baroncelli. The monk Antonio Maffi. Archbishop Francesco Salvatani. Stefano de Bagnone. Each giving hints and riddles to tell where and how to find Masaru de Pazzi.

Once it is all put together, Izio waits atop a building outside of the San Gimignano church. "If I stay my blade long enough to follow him, he'll lead me to his templar brothers. Then I will have more names for my list." Izio says to himself while watching Masaru de Pazzi leave the church.

Bondo hums before saying, "how long do you think his list of people to kill is now?" "Who knows? With as many people are wrapped up in this conspiracy, it could keep growing and growing." Shoji says before taking a drink. "Revelry in the dark." Tokoyami and Kuroi say as they watch Izio sneak around in the dark of the night. Waiting for his moment to strike.

Upon following the man to the Antico Teatro Romano, Izio listens in on the meeting between the Templars. With Masaru trying to cover up his failings and pleading with the maestro. A man from Venice named Barbarigo then notes that Masaru was too much of a coward to handle matters. The Spaniard then explodes at the two men quarreling, before saying, "we put our faith in your family and you repay us with inaction and incompetence. Then, when asked to account for your failures, you make excuses and insult us? How do you expect me to respond?"

"I don't know." Masaru says nervously. But the Spaniard knows exactly how to respond. He draws a dagger from his back and stabs Masaru in the chest. As the man falls, he pleas to be spared. But the maestro only responds with, "no" before stabbing Masaru with his sword. He then taunts Izio. Saying, "so sorry to have claimed your prize Assassin." Izio is then brought before the gathered Templars. With the leader saying that he had planned for Izio following Masaru.

Even if it isn't his actual father, Bakugo is enraged at seeing the mastermind of all these schemes stab the man in such a way as to make him suffer. With his armrest smoking from the explosions going off in his hand.

The others of the audience look at the man in disgust. Between his disregard for his allies, and his taunting of Izio for killing the man. Which for Nezu and All Might it is enough to confirm what they thought about the man leading the Templars.

Izio offers to spare the men holding his arms lives. But when one tries to mock him, Izio quickly deploys his hidden blade into one's throat, while tossing the other to the side. Once most of the men are dealt with, including those who ran away, Izio makes his way to Masaru de Pazzi. With a sigh, Izio puts the man out of his misery. "Vai, amico, libero da fardelli e paure. Requiescat in Pace." Izio says to the man in his last moments

"Thank you." Bakugo says in an uncharacteristically quiet voice. The rest think the same and say another prayer for the dead Masaru de Pazzi. Though Izuku is concerned for the fact that now his other self has to deal with a new conspiracy.

Izio returns to Firenze to tell Lorenzo that the deed was done. And to tell what is to come. "There are others I must hunt Signore. They are already digging their claws into Venezia." "No! La bella Venezia… Then that is where your journey must take you Izio. Before you leave us…. I have something for you. A gift." Lorenzo says before passing a cape to Izio. Signifying him as a friend of the Medici. And making the guards more tolerant of his actions. "But it will not grant you immunity from the law." Izio thanks the man before heading out for Venice.

A few of the audience are confused as to why he would give him something like that. "There may still be some of the Pazzi supporters around the city. This will give Izio the authority and leverage to investigate them." Nezu says with a scratch of his chin.

Along the way, Izio bumps into Leonardo. He helps his friend to fix his broken carriage. With Izio seeing a strange device inside. Which Leonardo claims is his way of making a man fly.

This statement gets both Momo and Ida excited. As they wonder what this other version of Leonardo da Vinci could make. With some questioning if he'll be making greater weapons as well.

The two travel together, with Izio fighting off pursuers by using the size of the carriage to their advantage. But with more coming, Izio jumps off to save his friend from being attacked by those after his life. He leaps from the carriage and engages the men. Eliminating most rapidly.

"A well thought out plan. He knew they were after him so he split up from Leonardo." Ida said before eating some popcorn. Though Ochaco is concerned for Leonardo's safety going forward. "How does Izio know that there weren't more ahead of them?" Momo then says that the men probably know what Izio wears, so if he doesn't show up they won't attack Leonardo.

He meets with Leonardo at the docks in Forli to take them to Venice. "Bravery is not my strong suit. I owe you a debt brother." Leonardo says to Izio, before the ship's captain announces they will be leaving soon. But Izio doesn't have a pass to ride to Venice. He tells Leonardo he'll figure something out.

Todoroki hums before wondering if Izio plans to row to Venice himself. But a few of the others look at him like he's nuts.

Out on a rock in the middle of the bay, a woman with white hair and a dress that seems to show a bit of cleavage is calling for help. Izio then grabs a smaller boat and rows out to aid the woman in distress. "Madonna." "Oh you're good. The ladies must love you." The woman says as she takes Izio's outstretched hand. Izio just says with a laugh, "I wasn't looking to impress. Only to help someone in distress." "Which is exactly why you impress." The lady says with a coy look back at Izio.

The pervs of the classes are extra jealous of Izio and Izuku by extension and tell him so. Izuku meanwhile is blushing while wondering why the woman looks familiar. Ochaco meanwhile has a dark look over her eyes, while Mina and Toru are teasing both for the situation. With Mina saying, "Midori~ The other you is quite the player. How come you don't try anything like that?" Toru though says to Ochaco, "don't forget the other you isn't with Izio here."

The young man introduces himself, before the woman introduces herself as Rumi. And offering a reward for the young man. With Izio knowing exactly what he could use help with.

"Oh I can think of a few things I'd want as a reward." Mineta says perversely. Which is mirrored by Awase and Tsubarabara. Kaminari meanwhile was thinking it, but he clammed up when he saw some of the girls getting pissed. While the other three's comments reward them with a tongue slap from Tsuyu, a vine smack from Ibarra, and a chop from Itsuka.

Izuku meanwhile nods at knowing why he recognized the woman. "It was just hard to tell it was her without her rabbit ears." A few others in the audience agree, before a few tease him a bit again at attracting an older woman.

Rumi then speaks to the captain of the ship to allow Izio to ride to Venice. "Thank you, Rumi." "Perhaps we'll see each other again. Should you ever find yourself in the city of Forli, it would be my….. pleasure to welcome you." Rumi says with a smoldering look at Izio.

Mineta and Awase both feel an uncomfortable twinge in their pants, before getting smacked again. While Kaminari calls Izuku and Izio dogs for getting the attention of the other version Mirko.

"I look forward to enjoying your hospitality." Izio says with confidence before joining Leonardo on the ship. "Be careful Izio. Do you know who that was?" Leonardo asks as they are leaving the dock. Izio just jokingly says, "my next conquest?"

Ida does not take well to this crass comment. Saying, "women are not some item to put notches in you belt or whatever for!" Izuku meanwhile is a bit unsettled at his other self's interpretation of that meeting. Though he wouldn't deny finding the offer appealing.

Leonardo just laughs before saying, "eh I don't think so. That is Rumi Sforza, daughter of the Duce di Milano. Her husband." "Husband?" "Si. Her husband is the lord of Forli. That woman is a powerful and dangerous as she is young and beautiful." With that said Izio just smiles wider while leaning back on the rail of the ship. "Sembre come una donna per me! (Sounds like my kind of lady!)" Izio says with a chuckle. While Leonardo just shakes his head at his friend's words. And the screen fades to black.

"Okay that is way beyond just dog status. Izio's going after a milf!" Mineta comments with a laugh. With Tsubarabara, wondering if this will be a ntr situation. These comments get them smacked again, but not hard enough to knock them out. Izuku though is blushing a bit at the fact that his other self could be planning to get in bed with the other universe equivalent of the number 5 hero in Japan.

The rest of the audience talk about the plan that Izio interrupted. And what new plans could be in motion for Venice. "I hope it is nothing involving the art and architecture there. The city is beautiful. I would like to go again sometime." Momo says with hand under her chin. As she once again smacked everyone with how rich she was. Nezu and All Might though were comparing how some of these actions could be comparable to what the heroes had to go up against at the start of the quirked era.

Suddenly the screen lights up again. This time it seems to show a bunch of battle scenes. Some seem to depict fights like what they had seen in video with the shipgirls. Others appear to be changed views of battles they knew happened in the past. "Wonder what this next chapter is going to be about." Sato says. With Setsuna saying, "looked like alternate versions or extensions some fights we've seen before." Nezu meanwhile is intrigued by this way of looking at different views of the events they knew. Wondering what could happen next.

So the next one will be a bit of a new insert to the main set of multiverses. Showing a few battle scenes from a few of my other stories. A reviewer noted that I could write really good battle scenes, so I'm wondering what the rest of you are thinking. But once it is done, I'll switch back to one a lot have probably been waiting for. Please review!
