Chapter 20
The Soul of a Hero
Sorry to those hoping for any villain stories, but I'm never going to write those. The closest I'll get is anti hero stories like Assassin's Creed or The Expendables. I just can't write those. I can't get into the mindset for them, it's too against my normal nature. And I don't feel like letting someone else out who is….. well for those who know this root, its like Stein. Anyway on with the show.

As people were coming back, they started out getting snacks and refills on drinks. As well as questioning what it was that this version of Izuku was going to be doing. "He was going after Stain at night so maybe he's an underground hero." Jiro mentioned.
"I don't think so. Not the way he was talking with whoever that other person was. I have an unsettling feeling about this." Ida says while rubbing his left arm. Izuku agreed with the class president. Especially at how that Star person called Stain a target. "It could be that….. I'm just like him now." Izuku says while looking down sadly.
And while his classmates and All Might try to tell him that can't be true, others in the audience do think it is a possibility. Namely Nezu himself. 'I wonder why or what could have happened to make this other young Midoriya willing to kill like this.' And with the screen lighting up, he feels uneasy at getting the answer
It had been rough for Midoriya Izuku for quite a long time. Since he was diagnosed quirkless, his life just got harder and harder with each year. Especially thanks to Bakugo and his bragging about his own quirk.
Glares were once again fired in Bakugo's direction. With the boy rolling his eyes at the rest and noting that was probably not the most important thing to this story. Izuku agreed and asked the rest to let it go for now.
But he'd had a bit of a happier birthday and couple of weeks following his thirteenth. His father had been home and he had enough time off from work to spend a long vacation with his family.
"Ah that's nice. But kinda sad. Does your dad always work too Deku-kun?" Ochaco asks. Izuku sighs before saying, "yeah. His bosses constantly keep him away from home. He has come back a few times but its been a while since I saw him. I think we had to use skype the last time. When I was accepted into UA."
After a day of observing heroes around Mustafa, Izuku was running home late. "Oh man I'm gonna be in trouble. Today is dad's last day off before he has to go overseas again." When Izuku arrived at his apartment though, something was off. The door was unlocked.
This had people nervous as well. With Izuku afraid for his parents. While the heroes were hoping the young boy would get away in case there was a villain inside.
Izuku gulps and opens the door carefully. Locking it behind himself "Mom? Dad? You forgot to lock the….." Izuku started until he walked in further and saw the living room. Where his father was lying in a pool of blood. And his mother had a lifeless look in her eyes. As she was held up by her stomach on the hands of another woman. A woman with fox tails and metal claws.
Screams were let out at seeing the state Izuku's parents were in. With Mirio quickly covering Eri's eyes. Izuku though felt sick to his stomach. Right as he was about to throw up, Bakugo quickly handed the boy a trash can.
Said ash blonde teen was fuming and raging at what had befallen the eldest Midoriyas. While Toshinori quickly buffed up and looked ready to kill. A thought mirrored by the teachers while also hoping the other Izuku could get away as fast as possible.
Izuku couldn't even respond to what he was seeing. He could barely squeak out mom and dad because of how scared he was. "Well now. So this is where the young one was. It has been a while since I had a child close to me. Perhaps you will be fun to toy with." The fox tailed woman says in a sensuous voice. Off put by her unceremoniously dropping Inko atop her husband.
"MONSTER!" Toshinori shouts out with rage flashing in his eyes. With Aizawa's eyes flashing and his capture cloth floating around him. While the rest were wishing they could take a shot at the woman.
The boy couldn't even run, he was too frightened as the fox being walking toward him with a sway of her hips and a seductive smile on her face. Her large bosom practically on display in the purple and gold kimono like garb she was wearing.
Mineta gulped before saying, "As hot as she is, for once I'm not even aroused or interested. I'd just want to get the ever-loving Hell out of there!" All of the men agree and the girls can't disagree with his statements about the fox woman's appearance. "I have an unsettling feeling that she'd be the type to kill a woman if they were more attractive than her." Momo says with a shiver.
Izuku looked to his left to try and run, but suddenly her tails were in front of his escape route. Izuku is then tripped by another tail and can only stare up at the terrifying and predatory visage before him.
"Oh god! What going to happen to him? Someone save Deku! What's she going to do to him? I don't think you want to know that answer." The audience murmur about while Izuku looks like he's about to be devoured. With Izuku wondering if this could have been the start to his new path in this world.
Suddenly though, they both hear something at the door. A set of slices are heard as the door breaks. "DA JIIIII!" is the shout that is heard as a new figure appears. Though it is distracted by a massive jade green blade being thrust forward. One with a glowing dragon etched on the blade and holding it as well.
This gets a lot of breaths of relief let out while wondering who this hero was. "Probably that guy we saw at the end of the last video." Juzo notes with Jurota concurring. "He likely saved him and then took to training this other version of Midoriya." Nezu agrees with the statement but he is wondering when they'll find out about these other powers the other Izuku has.
The now named Da Ji leaps back after a few of her tails have been sliced. And the new figure steps forward. He is a young man with pale blue and black hair. He is wearing a black sleeveless gi top and white torn up jeans. His arms are completely taped up and he is wearing black fingerless gloves. On his feet are black and white tennis shoes. And over his left eye is an eyepatch with a star over it. And around his neck is a long scarf with stars and moons on it.
"Hey it's a different look than the previous one. Maybe he changed in between this moment and the Izuku's first mission? He still looks manly as Hell. Damn right! Looks like he could kick a lot of our asses." The teens say. With Izuku being grateful to the man for saving his other self.
The teachers though wonder what the man's quirk is and how he'll use it to fight this murderous woman. With Nezu coming to a different conclusion than his staff.
"You BITCH! I'll kill you! Ming!" the man says to the woman and then his weapon. The large staff and blade shift to a more compact form, akin to a sword. He then charges Da Ji and slashes at the woman.
"Wait? Is that woman from the end of the last the weapon?" Itsuka questions with a raised eyebrow. This makes a lot of the other teens confused wondering what kind of quirk she could have. "I don't think that is a quirk children. In fact I don't think either of them or that fox woman, have quirks." Nezu says while thinking over the matter.
Da Ji grits her teeth before slashing at the man with her claws. The warrior easily deflects and evades some of her strikes while trying to cut her down. With the woman crying out when he cuts off one of her hands. "Fine!" Da Ji shouts before launching her tails toward him with needle like points to kill him.
"Yeah! Payback bitch! Well not really, because it wasn't Midoriya who did it. Dude, semantics." A few from class 1-A say. While a few from 1-B who knew and respected Izuku were also cheering a bit.
But the teachers note something odd. "She's not really bleeding much is she?" Mic says with a tilt of his glasses. Midnight agrees while Vlad is confused as to how that was possible. While Aizawa again was questioning how the woman's quirk worked. Only for Nezu to again say that she didn't have one.
The warrior closes his eye before breathing and taking the sword in two hands. And then rapidly and deftly deflects all of the attacks at blinding speeds. Causing damage to the already injured fox.
This gets eyes wide and the speed and skills of the eyepatch wearing man. With Toshinori applauding the skills while also noting his intent was focused on the Da Ji woman. "Wait Da Ji? Isn't that the name of someone from history?"
"Indeed. She was a murderous and monstrous woman. One who enjoyed the torture and death of those she saw as beneath her." Nezu says with a glare towards the woman on screen.
The fox snarls with her face morphing to be similar to that of said animal. She looks down to the two she had killed before her snarl becomes a mischievous fox grin. "Kyun, kyun. Kitsu, kitsu. Fox, fox." She starts to chant, with the warrior's eye rapidly opening. He tries to charge her again, but she used the blood at her feet to make a barrier that morphs into needles when the man strikes it.
"Holy shit that is a disturbing pair of faces!" Kosei says with a shiver. And the whole of the audience agrees with him. But then seeing what she did with the blood had everyone dumbfounded again. With Vlad King feeling sick that this murderous woman was doing something similar to what he could do. "Those words…. It sounded like a chant or spell…. But magic doesn't exist right?" Midnight says with an uneasy look.
The warrior is slightly damaged but not enough to slow him down. Especially when he sees that Da Ji has taken the sky to hid within the storm clouds that had gathered. "Damnit! You're not getting away!" the warrior shouts. Until he is distracted by something else. "Mom…. Dad…." Izuku whimpers out behind him as the boy started crying as he stumbled over to the bodies of his parents.
This gets people furious and extra sympathetic towards the other Izuku. With a few wishing they could hug or help their friend. Some even doing that to the version in their world. As theirs was tearing up a bit at seeing the bodies of his parents. While Bakugo had practically destroyed the armrest of his chair.
The man just snarls before looking back at the sky. Planning to go after Da Ji. "Hold it Jon! You can't just leave him here. You know what she and her allies are like. They're the reason we're in this mess after all. And you know better than anyone what they'll do with him." A disembodied voice rings out.
"Huh. So the guy's name is Jon Star? And the weapon is named Ming?" Kaminari questions. Jiro just gives him a flat look before asking if he missed the bigger factor. "That monster has allies. And if they're anything like her….. I don't want to imagine what they'll do to Midoriya." Ida says with a furious look on his face.
Izuku is confused but then he notes something odd. The voice was coming from the weapon in the man's hand. "Shut up Ming. We have to take her down!" "And you'll just leave this boy to be taken to an orphanage or maybe be kidnapped by Da Ji, Charybdis, Cliodhna, or Zong Xi?" Ming says with a reflected glare at him from her blade.
The man's reaction and way of talking to the woman made a few of the women in the audience angry. Calling him disrespectful, rude and controlling.
Though Bakugo brought up a decent point. "He's not wrong that they needed to take that other bitch down. If nothing else that to avenge Auntie and Uncle. And if he really does know what her allies are like, then he could probably track them down.
Jon looks from Izuku, Ming, and Da Ji. He growls before it slightly turns into a snarl. He then grabs Izuku before using his scarf to tie the boy to his back. "Hold on tight!" Jon shouts to Izuku before jumping out from the broken glass door. He leaps up and Izuku is freaking out as the plumet toward the ground.
"Oh, guess we can add crazy to the list of this man's "stellar" qualities." Momo says with an angry scoff. And many of the girls agree. With some of the guys sweat dropping at their anger towards the guy who save the other Izuku.
"Ming!" Jon shouts and the woman responds with a 'right!' as her full weapon form is shown again. He then puts her form down by his feet and they stop falling. With Izuku freaking out and questioning how this was possible. Jon rolls his eyes before taking off toward Da Ji.
This gets some snorts before Mineta says, "I'm sorry what were you saying about crazy? Seems like he knew what he was doing?" Kosei chuckles before saying, "yeah apparently by riding her….. somehow. How are they doing that?" While most of the girls are annoyed by their assumption getting thrown back at them, they do agree that it was odd.
"He's gotta be a telekinetic right?" Mic questions, but Midnight notes the other actions didn't add up. Aizawa and Kan both wonder if he's got some other way to fly. But Nezu stops them all. "Why don't we just wait and see."
Da Ji notices this and growls before using what was left of her tails to attack. Firing, 'Foxtail needles!' in rapid succession towards the duo. But they easily dodge around and out of the way of the attack. Almost catching up with the murderer.
This gets cheers from the audience again as the strange pair of heroes were catching up with the person who murdered the other Izuku's parents. With Toshinori joining in on the cheering as they got closer.
"You're not getting away!" Jon shouts as they start to catch up to her. Da Ji snarls before saying, "fine then! Fox, fox. Kyun, kyun. Kitsu, kitsu. Fox, Fox. Kyun, kyun. Kitsu, kitsu! Nine tail bombs!" From her back, her tails fly out and launch toward the city.
"OH COME ON!" everyone in the audience shouts. With Aizawa and Toshinori commenting that they haven't seen anything like that in a while. "A last ditch effort to test if the hero is truly willing to take them down, or save the lives of others."
Jon sees this and has another conflicted moment in his mind. Before letting out a grunt of frustration and telling Ming to get ready. "Dragon wave?" Ming says as they quickly get ahead of the bombs about to destroy a large part of the city. "Yeah." Jon says with anger in his eye.
Jon's actions make the rest cheer a bit. With the teachers applauding his willingness to save others. "Dragon wave…. That sounds like a badass name!" Rin comments while wondering if he could do that with his scales. Though the hardheads correct him and call it 'manly' instead.
He quickly kicks up his blade before they reach the ground. Spinning it around in both hands while staring up at the attack heading towards them. With Izuku freaking out less than when they were in the air, he looked on in confusion and a bit of awe. "Let's go, soul resonance!" Ming and Jon shout.
This gets a few to do spit takes before questioning if they heard that right. "Did they just say Soul Resonance?" Toru coughs out. A few others confirm what she heard while wondering how that was possible.
Nezu nods though before saying, "he's not strengthened by a quirk. He's strong because of his soul." Aizawa scoffs at this. Saying, "souls don't exist. There's no proof of them in science. That's far to illogical to believe." Nezu then makes him a bet that Aizawa is wrong and Nezu is correct about where Jon's power comes from and how strong it could be. With a quick handshake to confirm it.
A view is show of their souls lighting up, and it being reflected all around Jon's body. A soul three times his height. (Add in the music of when Maka and Soul try to use witch hunter) The young man himself standing at 178 cm or five foot ten. But resonating with his weapon made his soul even bigger. Something Izuku could feel as he felt the shockwaves from the resonance. Awakening something within him as well.
Eyes are wide again, especially at seeing some of the other people and their souls in comparison to Jon's. There's being tiny and a bit odd. Aizawa though had just dropped his drink and was jerkily turning towards Nezu. Who just had a slightly evil gleam in his eyes.
The resonance also made the green blade grow as well. And the glow of the dragons is brighter too. Jon steps back with one foot while bringing the blade back. "Here we go! Dragon! WAVE!" Jon and Ming shout as a large wave of green energy is launched from the blade.
As it moves further from the weapon, the shape starts to transform. Becoming a massive jade green dragon. The dragon attacks each of the bombs while still traveling upwards. Finally dissipating at the clouds that had been overhead for a time. But it still leaves an impact as the clouds are parted. For twenty miles around where the wave stopped.
At seeing the massive energy blast and wave fired off from the guandao weapon, many of the guys were cheering. Some commenting that it looked like some older anime that had energy blasts not from quirks. With Itsuka also being excited about the attack.
But when the wave transformed, it got even more eyes wide. With Rin sadly commenting that he couldn't do that. While Setsuna was psyched to see the massive green dragon and how it was saving everyone.
And upon seeing the effect the attack had on the surrounding cloud cover, Kirishima and Tetsutetsu just straight up fainted. Lightly muttering, "manly overload…" And no one could disagree with them. "Okay that had to be their maximum right? Like an ultimate move to beat all others?" Midnight says while her voice cracked.
"Damnit. That wasn't our best." Jon notes while looking up and vaguely sensing Da Ji getting away. Ming nods from within her soul space before saying, "agreed. We had to rush so it was quite a bit weaker than our best. Well, what can you do?"
Spit takes were sent out again while a few were just slack jawed or looked like they were having a stroke. The latter being Aizawa given Nezu had predicted that they couldn't put out their best given the conditions. And even their weakest was still strong enough to rival All Might or Star and Stripe.
Jon says they need to get out of there, and he drops Ming down again. And they take to the skies to head out of town. Izuku, still tied to Jon's back, is just shocked at everything that happened to him tonight. But when he remembers what happened to his parents, he starts to cry.
The warrior hears him start and can feel the tears on his back. But he doesn't ask the boy to wait or stop. He just lets Izuku cry out on his back. While heading towards a hideout in the mountains.
This gets eyes misty again, while wishing that Jon could have taken out Da Ji. With Ochaco, Koda, Mina, and Tsuyu giving him a hug as he was crying. While Shoto and Ida were wishing they could comfort the other Izuku in some way as well.
When they arrived a pair of girls greeted them. "Hey…. Wait what's with the kid?" the blonde-haired girl asked while eyeing up Izuku. The boy barely noticed that she had red eyes and a very mature figure. Especially given she was shorter than him. Her hair was held up in a ponytail with a red cross holder.
"Now, now Mary. Let him be. I don't think Mr. Star would have brought him here without a reason." The taller of the girls said. She had bright blue eyes and long, shiny black hair. She was a bit taller than Izuku, but compared to Mary, she was flat. Upon closer inspection her eyes appeared to have scope crosshairs in them.
"Okay one is kinda hot, and….. bit of a compact size in comparison. The other, I can't really tell. But given her height, I'd bet she's got some great legs under that skirt." Mineta comments. Which gets him another set of smacks from Jiro. And a few of the other pervs agree with his comments. Which gets them smacked as well.
"Sadly he just lost everything thanks to someone we all know well. Da Ji." Jon said as Ming transformed back into a human. Said woman has black hair and green eyes. Said eyes having lizard like pupils. Obscured by a pair of glasses which flashed when she adjusted them. She was wearing Chinese styled clothing of a white and green coloring.
Hearing that Da Ji was someone they all knew made a few wonder who these people were and what made their abilities different from those with quirks. And wondering why they brought Izuku with them rather than leave him with the authorities.
Ming gave her partner a glare before saying he should be more tactful. "Come on in young one. Though I think you are about the same age as the girls here. My name is Guan Ming. My partner and meister here is Jon D. Star." Ming says while gesturing to said man.
"That's why she's a guandao! She might be descended from the Chinese war god!" Nezu comments with a clap of his paws. While the rest of the audience look at him in confusion. Rin though could see what the principal is getting at. "It's a little weird to think that his weapon could have been a person."
The two girls look him over before introducing themselves. The blonde saying her name is Mary Chimamire. While the black haired on is Jane Henry. Izuku just looks around a bit in confusion before introducing himself. "So, are these two…" "Stop right there! Like Hell I'd be doing that with Ming. The two of them are similar to you." Jon says with a glare at Izuku.
This gets not just the women annoyed and angry at the man's somewhat misogynistic comments, but a few of the pervs are annoyed as well. "Seriously!? She's an attractive woman, you should respect that! Even if you swing the other way, you should acknowledge how good she looks!"
This set of statements leaves the girls with conflicting thoughts. As much as they want to be annoyed at the comments, they are also glad that they are mad at Jon for his actions and statements. So they just leave it alone for now. But not without Itsuka and Jiro warning the pervs to be careful on what they say.
Izuku is put off by this while Ming just sighs and shakes her head. She explained that the two girls had been kidnapped by allies of Da Ji and they had broken them and a few others out. "Though I'm not sure how many others got brought here. We still haven't been able to contact Death City."
"Wait where now?" was the common statement and thought around with the audience. With Nezu and Aizawa confirming that there was no location like that in their world.
"Actually, there was a slight reaction while you were gone." Jane says while tilting her head to the side. And Jon then gruffly asks why she didn't say that sooner. He goes over to a large mirror in the house before steaming it up and writing on the vapor. 42-42-564.
Once he does the vapor dissipates and it looks as if a wave has started over the mirror. It is staticky at first but Izuku can definitely hear voices coming from it. "Hello! Hello! Jon? Ming? Anyone?"
While many were again annoyed by Jon's gruff actions and dismissive attitude, they were curious on what a mirror and a set of numbers had to do with contacting someone. Only to be shocked by hearing and seeing something coming from said mirror. "What other crazy thing can happen in this world!?" Tsubarabara questions with a shade over his eyes.
The static eventually fades and the voices become clearer. And Izuku can see a strange man with white lines around his black hair. Beside him are a pair of women, both dress like cowgirls. "Jon! We've finally gotten somewhere! Thank you. Free, Eurka, Kim." The man with odd hair says before quickly sending a message on his phone.
"Who the Hell is this guy?" Kamakiri asks with a puzzled look on his face. One that is common among the audience. Especially given he was apparently addressing others in the strange room from a mirror.
Ming and Jon both sigh before saying hello to the man. "It's good to see you Lord Death. I wasn't sure if we'd ever be able to get in contact after that crazy magic bomb those bitches left."
Spit takes are sent out again at how casually Jon addressed a man with a slightly terrifying name like Lord Death. Let alone calling some women bitches for some strange reason.
Izuku is shocked by the way Jon addressed the man and was going to ask who he was. But the boy was interrupted by a few new figures coming into view. "JON! JON! ARE YOU THERE SON!" A man with turquoise hair and a slight goatee was now front and center on the mirror.
"So he has people really worried about him. His dad apparently being the most worried. Hey anybody else notice that he doesn't quite look like his dad. Maybe he takes more after his mom." The students murmur while watching. With Nezu stroking his chin at what they had said and the way the man had been acting.
"BLACK STAR!" the man addressed as Lord Death shouted while a taller, voluptuous, and kind woman pulled back the now named Black Star. Death then told Star to wait while the others arrived. Others being a woman with pale brown hair and green eyes, a man with white hair and red eye, a man with sandy hair and brown eyes (while also carrying a scabbard with multiple katana in it), a man with stiches on his face and a bolt through his head, and a woman with blonde hair and an eyepatch of her own.
The odd variety of people arriving makes some wonder if this was their world or if these people were from a different world. "Okay aside from the fact that there is literally a guy with a bolt in his head, anybody else notice these people all look normal in comparison to what we're used to?" Kaminari questions.
The others look close and can see that he is correct. And then wondering if there were quirks at all in that world. Before remembering what Nezu had mentioned earlier.
Izuku asked what was going on, but the younger girls told him he should wait to ask his questions. It was then that Jon addressed the gathered people, including explaining why they were there. "After we infiltrated the hideout, we freed a lot of the weapons and meisters that they had been taking. These two girls behind me though had been taken elsewhere so we had to go deeper."
Jon then explained that he came upon the leaders of the dangerous organization after freeing the girls. A group of nine powerful witches. Many of whom Jon remembered well. He had been planning to just get away, but the witches had noticed him and he was forced to fight. And in doing so he disrupted a spell the women had been working on.
"So he basically went head long into a dangerous place. Snuck around to free who knows how many people. And then fought a bunch of bitches…. No wait he said witches. Witches like the one that killed Midoriya's folks and came out alive!? This might be the Manliest guy we've seen so far!" Kirishima says with his hands on his head. Tetsutetsu agrees and quite a few others agree with the pair. Even the girls can't deny how strong this person seemed to be.
"Nice work! You messed up all of their plans kid!" Black Star announced before his partner, Tsubaki, asked that he wait for the full details. "I'm glad to see you're okay….. son." Tsubaki says with a kind look in her eyes. Jon just scoffs while looking to the side.
This got people annoyed again, with seeing this young man disrespecting his mother. Izuku himself being extra annoyed, given his other self just lost his parents. Nezu placates them by saying they need to wait and see with some matters.
Death then mentions that they had gotten most of the people they had freed. "But we lost a few after….. well the building just disappeared. It left a massive crater in the ground and we could find no one. I assume that might have something to do with you two?"
Ming nods before noting that they had only managed to grab the girls when the magic went off and they were warped to this world. "Wait! So you're all from a different dimension!?" Izuku questions while looking between everyone.
"So these folks all got brought to another version of our world because they messed up a spell those witches were making? Where or what would it have done if they didn't do that though? Wonder how many others like that Ming girl or maybe even like Jon are in our world now?" All questions asked by the teachers and students. With Toshinori giving credit to Star for messing up the plans of a bunch of kidnappers and killers.
Death then asks who Izuku was, and the pair have to give the sad report that Da Ji had killed his parents. This gets furious scowls on everyone's face while the two girls look at him with pity. With Mary going over and giving Izuku a hug.
"Damn. As much as I'd like to send you help, this transmission is barely holding. We have no idea how to get to you. You're on your own. Though I can at least send you targets for that world." The sandy haired woman, who introduces herself as Maka Albarn Evans, then notes that Jon might not be as alone as they think.
The mention of targets confuses the students again. As well as confusing Mic and Midnight. While Aizawa, Toshnori, and Kan were thinking that these people were assassin's like from the Renaissance story. "It may be far more different than that. We'll have to wait and see." Nezu comments with growing interest.
Jon snorts before saying, "wouldn't bet on that Maka-sensei. When I peeked a few of the souls around they were all damaged and distorted. I doubt any of them could really resonate or handle a weapon. They're more broken than I am."
"Thousand yen says that the reason we're all broken is because of our quirks." Mineta says with a raised eyebrow. And while Bakugo scoffs, he won't take the bet because he knows the short boy is probably right. While the others question what he meant about himself being broken.
Maka hums before saying, "but that boy isn't. I took a look with my soul perception. His looks like a normal soul." This gets Jon and Ming's eyes wide. The former looks back at Izuku and lifts up his eyepatch. Where Izuku sees his left eye is a bright purple compared to his gray right eye.
Nezu hums before saying, "I don't think this is a case of heterochromia. I think there's something a bit darker about that left eye of his." This unsettles the rest as they watch on.
"Holy… you're right! His soul isn't broken, mutated, malformed, or warped like everyone else's I've seen!" Jon says with a smile gracing his face. And it grows when he notes something else. That he seemed to have been strengthened somehow.
"Anybody else feel like they were stabbed multiple times with every word he said?" Kinoko says while looking down. And most everyone in the audience raises their hands. The only ones who didn't were Izuku and Toshinori. Who just blushed and tried to cover it up.
Death hums for a moment before asking Jon if they resonated near him. "He was practically glued to Jon's back when we did. We didn't want to leave him for the witches." Ming notes while looking over the boy.
Momo scratches her head before saying, "so he was empowered by just being close to those who could do things like….. well we saw." A few others comment that that idea seemed so dumb. "It's like the idea of being able to pass a quirk to others." Awase says with a chuckle. But his idea gets shot away when Bakugo brings up AFO and what his quirk was.
Death nods before giving new orders to Jon and Ming. "You are to train his boy, Izuku yes? Into being a capable meister. As well as teaching the girls how to control their own abilities. I will send you targets in time, but for now; get this boy ready to fight the forces of chaos."
"So they are heroes? But ones okay with killing? What do you think that other Midoriya can do? And do you think they'll teach him how to fly?" Nejire says while letting Eri rest on her lap. Aizawa hums himself before saying that even heroes know that they sometimes have to kill. "We'd prefer not to, but sometimes it's unavoidable. Or sometimes they'll take their own lives and we can't stop them."
Ming and Jon nod as the mirror fades. But not before Black Star tells Jon to kick as much ass as he can. Izuku meanwhile is still very confused at everything going on. Before asking what they had in mind for him.
Jon just smirks before saying, "you'll see soon enough. But for now. I think you could use some food and sleep." Ming agrees and asks if the girls had some extra from going out earlier. Mary tried to play it off, but Jane admitted that they had. And they had an extra bento box for when their saviors got back.
This gets a few snorts of laughter from the teens and the less mature teachers. As they can see Ming acting akin to the mother for this little group. With Jon seeming like a gruff dad who was a martial artist and wanting to train others.
It was a katsudon so Izuku was happy to eat it. And after all of the crazy things that had happened today, he went right to sleep. But he was plagued by nightmares for a time.
After the third time waking up, Mary let out an annoyed sigh before crawling into his bed and using something the witches had been very interested in. Her anti-magic wavelength. This helped to relax Izuku and let him get some sleep.
A few whimper or growl while wishing they could comfort the other version of Izuku in some way. Before being shocked at the actions of the Mary girl. "Anti-magic? I don't get it." Momo says with confusion etched all over her face. Though they all see the effects as it seems to calm and help the other Izuku.
The next day Izuku's training began. With half of it being focused on improving his strength and agility. For strength they'd go to Dagobah beach and work to clear out the trash. With Izuku being shocked and impressed by Jon lifting two cars like they were nothing and tossing them into trucks.
"How did you do that? Do you have a strength quirk?" Izuku asked. Jon looked at him funny before asking what a quirk was. This was moved past quickly and Jon explained that it was his soul. "A strong soul can push through a lot of things. And trust me; mine needed to be strong. For a lot of reasons."
The hard heads let out shouts of manly again at seeing how strong Izuku's teacher was. Let alone that he was doing it without needing something like a quirk. "He's just strong because his soul is strong! Wonder how strong we'd be if we could use our souls?"
Nezu just chuckles before saying to Aizawa, "remember the deal~. And you'll have to pay up tomorrow." Aizawa is just annoyed before bashing his head against his seat. Mic and Midnight though have a laugh at his expense.
Agility training was done in the woods. With Jon showing an almost animalistic agility to how he moved through the trees. With Izuku struggling to keep up. When Izuku questioned if they would be capturing criminals like heroes he knows, Jon puts that idea down. "We're death weapon miesters. Our job is to kill and collect the souls of those on Death's list."
He rationalizes this as Death knew all of the crimes those who would be on his list. With many being murderers, torturers, terrorists, and other heinous criminals. "Thus, our job is to keep order by eliminating them. And protecting others."
This gets a few uneasy, but Nezu can see the point and the good that could come from this. "As he points out, it's not like they go after random thieves or small-time criminals. They target those who have committed acts that would likely have them put away for a long time or executed because of how many they've killed or hurt." While his rationalization does ease minds somewhat, it still is an unsettling idea.
The second half of training was resonance training. Primarily with the two girls. While Jon was helping to improve Izuku's combat potential, Ming was helping both of the girls get better in touch with their weapon forms.
"You know I've been wondering this but: why are there just these people who can turn into weapons? Like what started that?" Rin asks after seeing Ming partially transform and then watching one of the girls change into a weapon.
During one of the training sessions, Izuku questioned what and how they could turn into weapons. "It's mostly due to the machinations of a witch from almost a thousand years ago. She'd kidnap people and use magic to experiment on them. While also killing other witches to give those people the ability to transform." Ming explained while Izuku was practicing with Mary.
Her weapon form being a katana with a red and white blade. And a jagged zigzag pattern along the length of the blade. The tsuba being a cross just like her holder. Izuku noticed something while he was wielding her. Despite never training to use a sword, he felt he could easily wield and use her.
Eyes were wide again and jaws dropped at the explanation. "So they exist because some crazy bitch back in the day was doing experiments on people, trying to make humanoid weapons to kill others, and she killed her own kind to do it!?" Bakugo shouts out while tilting his head to the side.
Upon seeing what Mary had turned into, many were confused. "Okay I thought she was a westerner. I was certain she was the gun." Momo said in confusion. With Izuku snorting at her assumptions based on the girl's appearance. Izuku though had suspected she was the sword because Mary seemed to have jagged teeth. And this was reflected in the pattern along the weapon.
This was also reflected when he practiced with Jane. Her main weapon form being a ten round .357 magnum revolver. When Izuku asked how she was reloaded, the girl chuckled. "I don't use rounds. I fire compressed bullets made of mine and my meister's soul wavelength." Jane stated after Izuku had quickly fired off her ten rounds into ten bullseyes.
It was then that Jane showed her other forms. The first being a lever action Henry rifle with a scope attached to the top. Izuku found he could easily sense and see targets further distances as well as projecting his own soul through the sight.
Her third form was a double-barreled shotgun that could fire massive slugs or a large spread of shot. All still made from the soul wavelength of Izuku and herself.
Whistles were let out at the flexibility and combat possibilities of the other girl. With Mic joking that Snipe would probably love to use that girl. And when he got odd looks and glares from the women, he clarified that he meant the weapon form.
During his physical training, Izuku also was taught by Jon on how to use his soul to see the souls of others. Allowing him to track across long distances as well as analyze the way some of them might fight. And it was there he saw the misshapen state of most of the souls of the people of his world.
As well as the reason he was able handle using Mary and Jane, eventually even being able to wield both at once. "Your soul is a lot more flexible and accepting. Not only that, but it seems like you can relate and adapt to others fairly well. At least when they give you a chance."
Upon seeing what a few average people's souls looked like, most of the teens were uneasy. Especially given one soul observed was Jurota's and his didn't look human or…. Well like a soul. Namely in comparison to Izuku's when he used soul perception in a mirror. His soul looking like a little round ball with the top mimicking his hair. While Jurota's looked like chunks were missing from it and it was more animal like.
"Hm. So it's because he has a soul that can empathize with others that he can use more than one type of weapon? Or in this case both at once?" Tsuyu questions. Most of class 1-A can see it and could see that as a way to
After six months, Izuku choose to broach something that had been bothering him. "Why are you always so rude and harsh to Guan-san and the other girls. And not just them, but you rude and dismissive to all women from what I've seen."
"Thank you! Yeah why's he always so rude! He probably just prefers his father while he ignores or dislikes his mother for some reason." A few of the girls say. But then Eri speaks up. "Not all mamas are nice though. Mama was scared of me and gave me to Chisaki when my quirk came in." This stops some of the blame and anger train for the time being. With some of the girls looking to the side in unease.
Jon just glared at him before walking away. Ming stopped Izuku from going after him and told the boy he has his reasons. Placing a hand on his shoulder. And accidentally causing a burn. "Sorry! Sorry about that Izuku. I probably should have warned you. That's the main reason Jon is the only one who can wield me. My wavelength has something…. Powerful and dangerous in it. And he's one of the only one's who can keep it in check. He has since we were younger."
Jaws were dropped at what just touching someone could do. "Think it has to do with that dragon thing?" Setsuna asked and Rin agreed. Noting, "maybe his own soul is so strong it can push back or restrain that thing. But anyone else when he's not around could get hurt."
After making sure Izuku was okay, Ming went after her partner. And she found him in front of a cliff wall. He had a hand on it and seemed to be working through something. "You know you could tell him. It would probably help in the larger scheme." Ming said with a gentle look to her partner.
Jon looked from her to the ground to his hand. Like he was wrestling with something. He finally let out a breath before tightening the grip he had on the cliffside. Twisting his hand slightly and unleashing his soul wavelength. The resulting shock made a massive impact in the rock. Nearly double his height.
Spit takes were sent out this time with seeing what just a bit of his soul could do. "How the Hell did he do that?!" was the common statement thrown out when they recovered from coughing. Nezu meanwhile hummed at the possibilities with this power.
When they return, Jon asks the younger members to sit down. "As you noted I have a problem with women in general. That's because…. For a long time, I never knew any women who were kind, good, or compassionate."
This made a few of the girls wince, while Midnight jokes about taking very good care of him. "I get the feeling if you got a hold of him Midnight, he'd probably be as likely to kill you in a brutal way." Nezu nonchalantly says while sipping his drink. Confusing most of the audience.
Jon took off his gi top and unwrapped his bandages. When he was done, they could all see the various scars he had riddled across his body. Some of which were surgical scars. Including a few on his arms that made it look as if he had been stitched together.
This made a few drop their drinks and snacks. While Eri shivered and gripped her own arms tight. Remembering what Overhaul had put her through. Which just made Mirio wrap her in a bigger hug.
"My name… it wasn't originally Jon….. I don't think. I don't actually remember my own name. And the only memories I have… are of what Da Ji and her partners did to me. For years. They took me apart and put me back together. My left eye? I'm pretty sure it wasn't my original. They cut out my old one while I could still feel it…. And replaced it with an eye they took from a meister that had soul perception."
At hearing some of what he had gone through at the hands of not just one but multiple women, most of the girls in the audience could understand some of his misogyny. With the guys feels scared and unsettled at the looks on the faces of the witches in his memories. Which grows on all sides at seeing how his original eye was cut out. And he was basically forced to watch.
Jon explained that Da Ji was part of a group that were trying to recreate the efforts and experiments of a trio of insane and dangerous sisters. The Gorgons. One of whom almost succeeded in destroying the world. Through the use of a child she had and tortured for years. Replacing their blood with a new black blood and forcing them to kill to make them into an agent of madness.
This made more of the girls sick to their stomachs and could see more of what Eri had been talking about. And that they were all doing this to make more chaos in the world and possibly kill more and more people. All because they enjoyed it.
It finally culminated with Ochaco vomiting and a few others at the mention of the born directly from one of the witch's child having all of their blood drained and then replaced with another kind. All for an experiment and for their amusement. Ibara meanwhile was praying for not just Jon, but all the other souls who had been tortured or killed by these monstrous women.
"Jesus, no wonder he has such a problem with women. If that's most of what he remembers with them its no doubt he'd hate them." Midnight says while swallowing back her own bile.
Izuku's eyes were wide and his face was green from what Jon was describing. Mary and Jane were in much the same place. "They abandoned the base they were keeping me at when someone the Death Weapon Meister Acadamy called the War God appeared."
Jon explained that it was the man who would become his father, Black Star. "My memories go back to about when I was six or so. And I met Black Star and his wife Tsubaki when I was… fourteen or so." He then explained that after he'd been beaten and stopped from killing others, the pair helped him get some control over his power. As well as teaching him to speak, read and write.
"Almost a decade. The only thing he knew for almost a decade was torture and pain. All at the hands of power mad and psychotic women. It's no wonder he hates most of them." Itsuka says with a shiver and look of sympathy to the man she was denouncing earlier. With many of the girls agreeing.
Strengthened more so when they all saw the memories of him basically grunting like an animal or caveman. With more pity at what he and likely many others may have dealt with due to the madness of the witches.
"I eventually joined the DWMA. Since I didn't know my own name, Black Star gave me a new one. Jon Doe Star. Had a bit of a rivalry with one of his own kids, Bright Star, while we were there." Jon said with a slight chuckle as he was putting his bandages back on.
Aizawa hums before noting that Jon was adopted. "I could see how he would have that. But it seems like it was or could have been for the best." Nezu nods before noting that if the witches had fully had their way, he might have become a target. "Because they forced him to kill innocent people."
He noted that he and Ming were in the Normally Overcome Target or NOT classes. With him wanting to avoid witches. And Ming trying to get control of the dangerous wavelength inside her body. But they were eventually put into the Especially Advantaged Talent or EAT class. Because of Jon's powerful wavelength and combat instincts/capabilities and Ming's powerful abilities and the flexible capabilities when paired with a meister who could wield her.
This gets a couple of chuckles. Even more so when Shinso points out that he's just like him. "But he actually got to be in the hero class after showing what he could do." Aizawa nods while wondering if the EAT could be knocked down to NOT.
"When we graduated we were three stars and part of the Spartoi. A special squad of powerful meisters and weapons. The mission to find Da Ji was a personal one for us. And important given she and a large number of witches had broken away from those who had allied with the DWMA." Ming explained. Explaining how they came to this world and what they were fighting.
"So he's here because he was doing everything he could to stop a mad woman and her cult of insane women who wanted to kill and murder whoever they chose. Despite having a peace agreement with the people who were originally hunting them down. What a bunch of dumb bitches." Setsuna summarizes and shakes her head at. And the entire audience agrees with her.
Izuku was just in awe of everything they had explained. He gulped before noting that Jon did have a reason to be a bit misogynistic. "But don't you think you're being too harsh on your partner." Ming snorts before saying, "he's much better than he was. And before you ask there is a good reason that he didn't like that mention of the girls being our daughters. Let's just say the witches did more than just experiment on him."
This gets eyes wide again, with Midnight especially feeling guilty. "Is that…" "Yes. I suspected that might be the case given what some of the scars looked like. They likely tortured and raped him as a boy. Still feel like you'd want to make a pass?" Nezu says with a raised eyebrow. Midnight just shakes her head back and forth rapidly.
Jon glared at Ming again before saying they had more training to do. After another year of training, Izuku was ready for his first mission and target. That being the hero killer Stain.
"Whoa that jumped ahead fast. It'd get boring if we just watched his training every single day. Wonder if Star and Ming killed others while they were training Izuku?" was the reaction to getting to Izuku's first mission.
Aizawa though was curious on what they all did to train him. Noting the more defined muscle compared to what Izuku was like when he started at UA. Toshinori was also intrigued. Thinking it could work for a set of training exercises for his students.
"You ready for this?" Jon asked over the comms device. Izuku smiled before saying he was. He held out his hands to his two partners and they transformed into their weapon forms. Izuku then leapt from the building and to another roof. Repeating this until he was near his target.
A few cheers were let out as Izuku quickly leapt across rooftops. "He's kinda ninja like here!" Mineta says with an excited look on his face. This of course gets the dark duo excited and both say, "revelry in the dark." Izuku meanwhile is curious on what all he learned from the powerful warrior. While some questioned if he'd be attending UA.
"Another fake to purge." Stain said while holding his blade above the sidekick he was targeting. "Sorry to say, but your not taking anyone else! Your soul is mine!" Izuku shouts while rapidly shooting down at Stain with Jane's revolver form. Stain and the sidekick are shocked. With Izuku coming down at Stain from above. The crescent moon behind him, a scarf trailing from around his neck, and Mary's katana form held in his right as he prepares to slash. And he cuts across as the screen it fades to black.
With that cutting out, the audience was shocked and upset. Especially when they saw that they'd be going right back to the Panda Izuku story. "Okay that last frame was badass as fucking Hell, but why didn't we get to see the fight with Stain!?" Bakugo shouts before standing to use the bathroom.
A few others agree, with the hardheads saying he looked like a badass manly ninja. Others in the audience were wondering what else that other version could get up to. And if he'd come into conflict with all of them given he was killing targets. With Nezu and the teachers also being intrigued by the prospect.
So I borrowed part of the backstory from one of my favorite fanfictions, Rising Stars and Full Circles. Its on this site so check it out if you're interested. I'd been wanting to do a sequel story to it with my own characters. But FourthDistraction stopped posting years ago, so I didn't feel right taking their characters and modified story. Anyway, if this is liked enough I might finish the first chapter and post it. With that chapter including Izuku's first fight. Anyway, please review.
