Dragonite looked at the Pokéball in her paws, pondering, tossed it in the air and fiddled it with her talons a few times.
The Sun had fallen, and she stood at the edge of a clifftop overlooking the valleys far below. The Boy had probably set up camp by now, the Pokéball containing her old childhood crush securely in his pocket.
Sigh, it had never been destined to work out anyway.
Spreading her wings, she took off, flying over the beautiful twilight landscape of the mountains, taking in the calming mountain air.
She flew through waterfalls, alongside cliffs, just relaxing her wings after the day's events.
And then she saw it, with her super dragonite vision, far below in the valley, the boy was laid flat out on his back, sleeping. He had no tent, only had on the thinnest of blankets, kept warm by the nice summernight air. Bulbasaur was laid out beside him, obviously spending the night outside of his Pokéball; the Dragonite he had capture didn't seem to have such privilege, as he was nowhere to be seen.
Probably still recovering from his capture injuries, she couldn't help but think in amusement.
She looked at the Pokéball in her paws again. She should return it, shouldn't she? Her aim was good, she'd give it back to him the same way he had given it to her, same target and all.
Except it won't be the same target at all, will it? She thought with a giggle.
Anyway, time to let the Pokéball go.
...
SMACK!
Evan woke up with a shriek, the weight of the world's heaviest Pokéball traveling at terminal velocity hitting him straight smack-flat in the-
"Pokéball!" He screamed, folding up on himself and writhing.
Unfortunately, the Pokéball had hit him in just such away, it had triggered the capture mechanism.
The noise of all this had jerked Bulbasaur awake, and he spun around, just as his trainer was sucked into the Pokéball to the sound of whirring energy.
The Pokéball winked a few times, and sealed.
Dragonite threw a paw over her mouth from the air.
Apparently even Evans could be captured if leveled weak enough in the right way.
Well, might as well go for it.
So Dragonite swooped down to retrieve her prize.
As she swooped away, Bulbasaur leapt into action in horror.
"Saur! Bulbasaur!" Bulbasaur cried, giving chase.
But Dragonite was already out of range, disappearing out of sight into the starlit mountainrange.
Bulbasaur came to a stop, huffing irritably.
He really needed a new trainer.
