Chapter 30: A Fresh Start In Roller Skating
"Finally I can do something for once in my life! It's been so many years on this turf!"
"You said it, Kris!"
"You're so lazy, you two. You don't want to take care of something for once, huh?" Scarlett asked Kris and Darius while shaking her head.
"I mean, we take care of something, but it would be too much work if you ask me. It's facts. For me." Darius asked.
"Way to be so boring." Scarlett whispered with a sweatdrop.
The eight of us were now walking around Hyperdrive City to explore the place some more. While we were walking around, there were so many buildings, parks, and so much more. I couldn't believe how this dimension topples all the other dimensions, including the one back home.
"I really want to take pictures… well… if it's ok?" Mom asked as she stopped herself on what she thought she was about to make a huge mistake.
"No no, it's totally fine. I just… don't want this dimension to be notified worldwide. Like everywhere." Lunia said.
"Oh ok. Then I should be good."
"Jordyn seems to be overjoyed about this dimension alright." Zack said.
"Basically, I never noticed an adult from a different dimension would feel so elated like that when it's their first time visiting this dimension before." Alexis said.
"Oh really? Why weren't you so elated, Alexis? Hmm?" Darius asked teasingly.
"Z-Zip it, you! I wasn't that elated!" Alexis shouted while blushing.
"Yeah, right. Why are your cheeks so red? *sniff* *sniff* I can smell the lies coming from you."
"Tch! Hey, Kaze! Try to kick his brain out!" Alexis shouted to me.
"No no! Don't do that, Kaze. She's just joking with you." Lunia said to me.
"Um… ok? It would be painful if I did that to be honest." I said with a confused look.
"You must've heard that violence is not the answer, yes?" Mom asked.
"Yeah. I've always had that term in my mind." Darius asked.
"Yet, you still take violence. Why?" Lunia asked with a facepalm.
"Mom, it's called play fighting. It's in the dictionary."
"Still though, you and Alexis. *sigh* You two just love to fool around these days."
"Well, mom. I'm just glad you took me out of the picture." Kris said with a cheeky grin.
Lunia then facepalmed at what Kris just said.
"You know, it kinda compares to what me and Raffina went through back in Primp Town." I said.
"Back in Primp?" Darius asked me.
"Our friendship is still the same, but her teasing sounded a little too uncool, so I had to hit her for whatever she says that is uncool."
"Wow… dang, girl. Ya had to give her four lives left, huh?"
I looked at him with a "What is he talking about?" type of look, very unsure how to put it.
"Way too ridiculous, right?" Scarlett asked me.
"W-Well… I wouldn't say it's ridiculous… I'm not really sure what that means." I said.
"I'm not sure what that means either." Mom said.
"Maybe ya haven't understood me just yet." Darius said.
"What do you guys normally do as a whole?"
"We just… hang out, eat at some restaurants… shop. Those sort of things." Kris said.
"Can we go to "Roller Rocket Racing"?" Alexis asked Lunia.
"Oh yeah, we should go there. We haven't been there in a long time." Zack said.
"Roller… Rocket Racing?" I asked confusingly.
"Have you ever roller skated, Kaze?" Alexis asked me.
"Well, I've practiced. Once. And I'm still trying to work on stopping myself whenever I move around. But what is it overall?"
"So, it's like racing, but you race on roller skates that these… You know when a car has nitrous and it makes your car go faster?" Alexis asked me as she was trying to explain the event to me. "The roller skates have exhaust in the back. But if you are wondering if it has flames, don't be alarmed. It has lasers, so you should be fine. But the only way that you can see them is if you activate boost."
"Boost?" I asked confusingly.
"It's like nitrous. It makes your roller skates go faster."
"Oh… Ok. Fair enough."
"Not to mention, Kaze, there's items in this. And that involves the boost." Kris said.
"Items? Like in a racing video game?" I asked.
"Mhm."
Aw geez, I wonder how this is going to play out. I've heard about stuff like those.
"Well… For once, you do have a point, Alexis. For me, I haven't been doing that for a while either." Lunia said while at a thinking pose.

"Y-You want to try that out, Kaze?" Lunia then asked me.
"Well… I'll attempt it. I just hope I know what I'm doing."
"Well even though I taught you roller skating one time, I just hope you are going to be safe." Mom said to me.
"I'll try to do the best I can. Although it's going to seem a little… dangerous."
Not to mention, I don't know how the items in this event will affect my clothes.
"It's not actually dangerous. The items are not lethal in the track if you're worried about it. They are not gonna harm you. Honest." Kris said to me.
"Well… Then I believe you if you actually mean it." I said to Kris.
"I do mean it." Kris said.
"Well… I guess we can go to Roller Rocket Racing."
Lunia said as she finally accepted the request.
"Yessir! It's gonna be lit! It's back to last place for all of y'all!" Darius said as he was eager to take part in this.
"You can never beat me, Darius." Alexis said. "You know a woman's work is never done when it comes to this stuff. Let's see how you react when you finish last."
"You've got strong words for a rookie, but I've gotten better. Just watch and see."
"The heated rivalry strikes again…" Lunia whispered with a huge sigh.
"Well at least fun is not the only thing we can keep in our minds." Mom said.
"Yup. And now we've got you and Kaze part of it, so this shouldn't be a pain in the butt at all." Zack said with a smile.
"I sure hope so." Scarlett said.
"Alright. We're here." Lunia said as we all arrived at our destination.
"It looks… EXTREMELY big. How did it end up like that?" Mom asked, looking very shocked.
"It sure does. It's like the size of a mall." I said.
"Well… that's because there are many things inside that are required in order for you to participate in such an activity."
"There are… requirements?" Mom asked.
"Not that there is a frick-ton amount of requirements." Darius said. "What they'll have you ask for is just your full name and age. Then you'll be substituting your normal clothes into regular suits in order to not have your clothes fouled."
"You mean… we'll be changing?" I asked. "How are we going to change our gear?"
"There's a men's and women's changing room." Scarlett said with no hesitation.
"Duh." Kris and Alexis said.
Rude. Sheesh.
"C'mon, you two." Lunia said to them with a serious tone.
"So a dressing room to change, huh? But, where are you going to find these suits?" Mom asked.
"We'll show you inside. Follow me."
We then went inside the building and there were so many people here but the entrance was huge. Inside were a lot of suits, there was food here, a tv… well, much more to come.
"So... is the entrance the reason why this place is so big?" Mom asked.
"Not at all, Jordyn." Lunia said to her. "The entrance is where you can register to take part in this event. Or where you can eat, chill, watch tv. But I think that's what you normally do at home."
"I still think of this area as a restaurant. But with the checkered paintings on the walls, it's safe to say that this is somewhat the entrance." Scarlett said.
"*sigh* Man, do I really miss this place." Kris said while just looking at the view of the area.
"Hmph. I hope you figured out how to do this." Alexis said to Kris with a smirk.
"Why would I forget? I never forget things that are usually fun. So the beef will still continue."
"Pssh! You're still not better than me." Alexis said while looking away from Kris.
I wonder if their rivalry has been like this.
"So where do we register our names, Lunia?" I asked.
"Right over here. Follow me." Lunia said as we followed her to the left side of the entrance.
What Lunia was showing us is a flat screen computer ahead that showed the number of players that will be participating. The numbers went from 1 to 12, even though there are eight of us.
"So over here, the registration screen first shows how many people would like to participate." Lunia explained. "There could only be a maximum of twelve players. So there's eight of us right now so we can wait for four others to join.
The next part shows names, so we can just put our first names and we are supposed to take our picture of our faces before getting our licenses."
"Oh. That's simple." I said.
"Yup. It is simple. As long as it is a real and appropriate name."

"Ok. Why don't you go first? I'll put mine in last." I offered.
"Are you sure? You are new here, so I wanted to see if you can test it out first." Lunia said.
"Come on, Kaze. Just try it out for me." Mom said to me.
"O…Ok."
I walked towards the touch screen and started typing my first name in. Luckily, after a few seconds of loading, it successfully went through, now showing the camera for me to take my picture. So I put my face in and created a small smile.
Then after a few seconds of scanning my face in, the authorization went successful and then what came down on the floor was a license for me.
"Does this often happen?" I asked as I picked up the license from the floor.
"Yeah. That's something that needs to be changed." Zack said.
"I don't actually know the cause for this." Darius said.
"Luckily this doesn't happen to driver's licenses. I tried looking those up online and I can tell people get them hand-to-hand." Kris said.
"True. I'd… heck, I'd wanna get my driver's license from that computer too."
"Have you two ever driven before?" Mom asked Kris and Darius.
"Mom let us drive one time. And uh… *giggle* Let's just say it turned out really bad." Kris said.
"Even though it was our first attempt." Darius said while holding in his laugh. Lunia was looking at them both with an annoyed look on her face.
They crashed, right?
"Well… for those two… they simply crashed into a bench and a tree after I was teaching them how to drive." Lunia said. "I taught them how to parallel park at that time and they just simply went forward and just immediately hit a bench and a tree. We were at a park."
"R-Really? Were you hurt anywhere?" Mom asked, a little worried.
"Nah, Nah, we were cool. It just turned out poorly as we did not expect it to be." Darius said.
"No injuries were suffered so we are A-Ok." Kris said.
Maybe it'll get even worse if they practice again. That's my prediction.
"Sadly, I don't want to talk about that. It's too stressful to even push the topic further." Lunia said.
"Besides, it's way better if we all have each other's back, no matter what." Scarlett said.
"Yeah, agreed. I would do the same for Kaze and she would do the same to me." Mom said. "So… basically, I would connect the two of us and you six, and that would mean… we all would have each other's back."
"I understand where you are coming from." Lunia said to Mom. "After all, we needed you ladies to help us protect the five worlds from creating chaos and ending them. Well… six if you count Japan as a world… or a dimension. So it'll be helpful if we relied on you ladies as well."
"Sure thing, Lunia." I said with a small smile.
"Alright, reliability aside. I shall put my name in." Alexis said as she stepped towards the computer to type her name next.
She must be wanting us to drop the conversation and get it over with.
"She's eager to start this event, huh?" Mom asked.
"It's her favorite thing to do. I wouldn't judge it going forward." Scarlett said.
"So… she was known to be beautiful and roller skate?" I asked. "It kinda reminds me of the Winter Olympics. Like ice skating."
"Yes, but it's different from what you think about it, Kaze." Scarlett said with a sweatdrop.
I know this is off-topic, but… couldn't that Candace girl do that as well? Although I don't know that person very well.
"Have you ever roller skated before?" Jordyn asked Scarlett.
"Who, me? I try sometimes. Well… I keep my balance pretty well, but I don't skate that fast. I don't want to hurt myself, but since this is competitive but fun, I might as well up my game. Just in case things get tight."
"They do not always get tight. You get loose every race we do. Always ending up last." Darius said to Scarlett.
"No it wasn't. That was four times that I finished last. I remember us doing twelve races that one week that we were at this place. And consecutively, I lost four times."
"Nah it's…"
"AND you two were taking the items seriously. Stopping me from passing either one of you guys. And I couldn't take advantage because of you two."
"Hold on. Two?" Kris asked. "I was just only taking the items seriously so that I could win. Easily."
"Finished~!" Alexis shouted with a royalty type of tone as she got her license.
"Geez. To me it seemed quick." Zack said.
"Well, having a conversation made the time go faster, don't you think?"
"Probably. I wouldn't say much."
"Alright, we should move forward. We must not hold other people up." Lunia said.
"Ok. You're right. I'ma go next." Darius said as he walked towards the computer.
Although there aren't that many people behind.
*SEVEN MINUTES LATER*
"Ok, so now that we are all authorized, we can now choose the track that we want to race in." Lunia said as all of us are now authorized to participate in the event. "There are three tracks in this. The first one is this huge speedway track that has ten item boxes. Five in each corner. There are three laps in this, no obstacles on the track.
The second track is similar to this one track called "Mario Circuit", but the design is way different as well as the obstacles. Not to mention, the track is big, leading to the increase of the item boxes, which is 24 boxes. And there are three laps in this as well. There is just one obstacle on the track and that's the big boot. It's similar to the chain chomp, but it sorta pushes you to a wall, which is the mat.
The third track is a tricky track. It has a mix of long High G corners as well as a tight infield section. It's going to require a lot of stability when you're entering the corners so you might want to be careful. Three laps in this and there are obstacles on this track as well. There are boost panels in one straight and there are two huge boots in this as well. Both of them are at the bottom of the hill when you enter the last few corners. It's to actually help you get back on the track by launching you very far from here. There are also 27 item boxes in this as well. And… that's about it. I got a new update that there will be newer tracks coming in two months."
"Oh really? Well… that's good to hear. I like to try the speedway one." I said.
"The speedway looks way comfortable if you ask me." Mom said.
"It still kinda shocks me to see you take part in this." I said to Mom.
"It looks fun. To me. Hopefully it doesn't get quite too intense." Mom said.
"You are beginners, so I'll try to go a little easy on you." Alexis said.
"You don't have to, Alexis." I said to her. "I may be a novice, but I will try to do the best I can."
"But do you think you can still keep your balance?" Mom asked me.
"Yeah. Because you helped me in the long run when you were teaching me how to keep my balance. Remember that?"
"Ahh… right. Of course. How could I not remember that?" Mom said with a facepalm.
"You know, you two kinda sound like partners for a very long time. Don't y'all do roller skating often?" Darius asked.
"No."
"Perhaps not." Me and Mom said.
"*sigh* Figures."
"So you two remember how to roller skate, but don't do it often?" Lunia asked us.
"We both kept it in our heads. We didn't want to lose what was memorable." I said.
"There weren't that many places for us to roller skate anyway, so we just left it at that."
"Oh. Well, I hope you find your mojo alright." Lunia said as she then picked the speedway course.
"Oh, look. Your friends are waiting for us to find eight other people so we can select that lobby." Lunia said as she picked the first lobby.
*WE WILL NOW SET UP THE TRACK SHORTLY! PLEASE WAIT FOR YOUR LOBBY NUMBER TO BE CALLED!*
"Alright, I'm 'bout to go meet with them." Darius said as he dashed off to see his friends.
"Don't leave us behind!" Scarlett shouted.
"Well, they're still our friends, so there's no point in killing the fun now." Alexis said.
They have friends?
"But… *sigh* I just don't want him to forget about us either. But I'll let it go for now."
"Look on the bright side. Your friend is here as well." Zack said.
"I can see that."
"You want to go try talking to her?" Lunia asked.
"I'm not afraid of her. She's my friend so I'll have to get a say in this."
We all then walked over to the other half of the entrance to find a place for us to have a seat. Well… me and Mom are new here, so for starters, I guess our time for introductions will come shortly. Since the others have friends that interact pretty well.
Although I already made eight friends, it seems to me that my popularity is going to grow super big. I wonder how this one is going to turn out.
"Yeah, I'm just with my family. We've got two others that are trying it out as well." I heard Darius say to his two friends.
"Oh y'all joined the speedway lobby?" I heard one boy ask. I'll describe them in a millisecond.
"Yeah. Our names should be up there, so we should be good."
"So I heard you two have joined up." I heard Lunia say.
"Oh, what's good, Lady Lunia? Yeah, we've joined up in this dungeon. You know… we just chillin' around."
"Yeah. Chillin' around. Finding something to do for once. Y'know, why this world be so boring around here? I'd be just lounging in my room with nothing in my sleeve." All of this was said by another friend of Darius.
So the two friends have the same skin as Darius. The first boy has black hair that was twisted for some reason. I'm not sure what that is since I haven't seen anything like that before. He also has brown eyes.
The other boy also has brown eyes. The hair… I'd say it is kinda kinky. I don't describe hair pretty well so I might as well go with that. The two of them also have the same height as Darius does.
"There are lots of things you can do in this world besides "lounging" in your room. It wouldn't be that smart to just be lazy."
"Yeah, I hear you. It's just… I have no job. If I had one, then I could've been doin' something."
"Your time will come. It all depends on how old you have to be and what you want to do."
"You could even work here. Heck." Darius said to his friend.
"*sigh* Would they ever sign me up, tho?"
"I think. I haven't checked the age requirement."
"It says you have to be 18 to work." This was said by a girl with long brown hair and amber eyes. She looked a little taller than us girls, excluding mom and Lunia, since Lunia is taller than all of us.
"Well, yeah. 18 to work."
"So who's y'all friends? They an acquaintance of yours?" Asked the first boy.
"Well, they are not acquaintances. Well, mom…"
"I sent them here." Lunia said. "They were the heroes who helped capture one stone. Well, one of them was able to do it. The other was just staying in her own lane. Anyway, the one in purple is Kaze. And the one in black is Jordyn."
"Fair enough. Pleasure to meet y'all." The first boy said.
"How do y'all do?" The second boy said.
"Oh yeah. Kaze. Jordyn." Darius said. "This guy right here with the twisted hair is my friend Donnie. Some of my other friends call him "Dimes". The other guy with that big afro of his is Miles. I'm not gonna lie, those two are pretty cool once you get to know them."
I'm gonna have to get used to their type of behavior.
"Yeah. Y'all seem pretty chill." I heard Dimes say.
"They are from the United Kingdom so it will take time for them to identify yourselves." Scarlett said.
"True. I might have to go easy on you two." Dimes said to us.
"Yeah, since you two have just met us." Miles said.
"It's ok. I don't mind at all." I said to them.
"We might have to get used to what they're saying, no?" Mom whispered to me.
"I guess. It's just the beginning."
"Oh and uh... this is my friend, Riley." Scarlett said.
"Nice to meet you both." Her friend said.
"Same here." Me and my mom said.
Can they really skate, to be honest?
"So who's the other competitor?" Zack asked.
"Oh, Omar's in the bathroom. He also joined." Miles said.
"Oh, Omar's here too?" Kris asked.
"Yeah. Y'know, I haven't talked to you in ages, K. You doin' alright?"
"Yeah. I'm cool."
"Alright. That's great to hear. What about you, A?"
Is he saying the first letter of their names?

"*sigh* I'm doing fine, Miles." Alexis said as she wasn't going to protest what he says
"Still hatin' as ever I see."
"I wasn't planning on getting cranky with you. I'm fine overall."
"Pssh! Alright, if you cool. I'm cool. Z, how you doin'?"
"I'm pretty much good." Zack said.
"A'ight. Still got that positive energy. Cool Cool."
"Bro, do you really have to go up to everyone building their confidence up?" Dimes said.
"Yeah. I have to. Every time."
"It's still kinda nice to hear, but other people's personalities might change from time to time. So I wouldn't want to push it far." Lunia said to him.
"True. I was planning on not doing this for a while. I mean, people would get tired of me hearing the same things I'd be talking about."
"Well… now that I think about it, do you two get affected by people talking to you nicely and act funny at the same time?" Alexis asked me and my mom.
"Well, in the United Kingdom, yes. I pretty much get used to it." Mom said to me. "Kaze on the other hand… she's trying to pull out a reverse card when it comes to making friends on her own. The first time she started out having nobody keep her company due to her wanting to be alone. Her main focus was to just study magic."
"Magic? Like fire, water, those sorts of things? I've heard about those things." Dimes said.
"Yes, that's the gist of it."
"It's actually a long story though." I said.
"I'm back." We then heard a newer voice who was coming towards us.
It was a boy with medium black hair which is quite similar to Kris's hair and has brown eyes. So it's quite similar to what Kris's appearance looks like.
"Sheesh, about time. You had to pee that bad?" Miles asked.
"Yeah. I didn't know how long it would take for me to stop. Everyone got on?" The boy said.
"Yeah. It's just... me, my family and my friends." Darius said. "We've also got two new people that came to this dimension, named Kaze and Jordyn. That purple haired girl is Kaze and the adult is Jordyn."
"I see. Name's Omar. Nice to meet you."
"Nice to meet you too." Me and my mom said.
*THE PEOPLE WHO CHOSE LOBBY 1, THE TRACK WILL START SOON! PLEASE HEAD INSIDE THE CHANGING ROOMS! THEN STEP INTO THE PORTALS WHEN YOUR READY!*
"That's us." Darius said.
"And on time, too. Finally I can get back to what I was
doing." Alexis said with a smirk.
"Blah Blah Blah."
"Is that a problem?"
"Nah. But I'll still cook both of you up." Dimes said to Darius and Alexis.
"You can't even beat me. I dominate speedways more than you." Darius said.
"You think you can be competitive?" Mom asked me.
"I have never done this before. It depends on how well I could do, is all I can say." I said to her.
"You might like it. I really hope you can be safe when you're entering the track."
"I will. As long as I don't pick up any errors on the track."
"Well… we are women. So even if we do poorly, our efforts will still be good."
"Understandable."
We have arrived… Well, it's only all women so we women have arrived at the women's locker room. But it was way different than just a dressing room.
How did nobody mention that there were automatic doors?
"So this is the changing room. Here, you can customize your own suit AND not only that, you are given three items out of a virtual slot machine." Lunia explained.
"Virtual slot machine?" I asked.
"Yeah. There's a common item, a rare item and a legendary item." Scarlett said.
"Oh."
"So if we grab an item box and crush it, it gives us one of the three items that we have from that slot machine?" Mom asked.
"Correct. But it will depend on what place you're in and if you will be lucky." Lunia said.
"If you are in the top 3 you may have a higher chance of getting a common item, a medium chance of getting a rare item and a lower chance of getting a legendary item." Alexis explained.
"So what about the other standings?" I asked.
"Reaching the lower rankings gives you a higher chance of getting a legendary item while the middle rankings give you just 50/50. So it's just neutral." Lunia asked.
"Oh."
"So that's actually fair." Mom said.
"Yeah it sure is. But whenever it comes to the final lap, it gets really intense afterwards. I don't know what the cause for this is." Alexis said.
"Well, everyone wants to be a winner, Alexis." Lunia said. "So that means we all gotta play competitively."
"You say that, mom, but you struggle most of the way through."
"I figured you were going to be not that competitive when you were racing all those tracks." I heard Scarlett's friend, Riley, say.
"H-Hold on now! I do my best to learn from these tracks! I-It's just that the items keep disrespecting me when I need a good item the most for whenever I need it now."
"Just items?" Alexis, Scarlett and Riley asked with a sweatdrop.
"What else would you do in competitive stuff like this?"

"Get good?" The trio answered.
Lunia sighed really hard and facepalmed.
"Umm… shouldn't we change and get going? I think we are about to hold others up." I said to the four people.
"Please. I wanna drop this conversation already." Lunia said as she dashed into one of the dressing rooms.
"What a baby." Alexis said.
"But I don't think we should push the topic too far. I might as well get changed." Scarlett said as she was also going into one of the dressing rooms.
We then all agreed to split up and go to the open dressing rooms. When I looked inside the dressing room, there was a message on this huge touch screen that said "Please place your license here!". So without any hesitation, I went ahead and placed my license on the rectangular box that was on the flat screen.
After the license was scanned and authorized, the next thing the touch screen asked for is my age. I then typed in my current age and the touch screen showed the full bodysuit that would best fit me.
The next thing the touch screen showed me was the color wheel for what color I want my suit to be. I dragged the pointer to purple and touched ok. I repeated the same process for the roller skates.
I'm glad there is a color wheel when we're customizing.
After I was done customizing my suit and roller skates. I was now at the virtual slot machine screen for the items I will be using throughout. There was a lever on the left side of the screen next to a grey box that was known for the common items. So I pulled down the lever until and the items started spinning for a few seconds.
I hope I can get something good.
The items kept spinning until after a few seconds…
*PING*
A… A-A chocolate pie?! What the hell?! Luckily I get to read what it does.
"Are these items real-life?" I can hear mom say on her right.
"Well if you're talking about food and dessert, they actually wear off. All the others just last a few seconds and then they wear off." Alexis said.
"Oh… because all I got was sticky blueberries as a common item."
"Sticky blueberries? Those things are annoying. They intend to make us lose control."
"Oh. That's what they do?" Mom asked.
"I got that chocolate pie item. I'm really bad at throwing accurately." I said.
By the way, that chocolate pie is an item that is thrown in a straight line. Just like how you are throwing a ball. To be honest, I'm a good thrower, but I'm just bad at accuracy.
"You don't play sports, Kaze?" I heard Lunia ask.
"I only do tennis. Since it feels comfortable for me."
I said.
"I see."
"Only tennis, Kaze?"
"Well, tennis is one of the most popular sports in the United Kingdom, but the more popular…"
*THE SPEEDWAY TRACK WILL START IN FIVE MINUTES!*
"C'mon lady, give me a chance to speak for once!" Mom shouted after we heard a woman's voice on the speaker. I almost giggled from that. "*sigh* The more popular sport in the United Kingdom is Soccer. It's my main favorite."
"I see. So just soccer?" Lunia asked.
"I really wanted to try out, but I have asthma so I might not be able to sign up. But I'm still clearing out that asthma so I should have no problem at all."
While they were still talking, I then pulled the lever for the next item which was a rare item.
After a few seconds of spinning…

A Plunger?! Well… I think it's a good item. So it grabs an opponent and throws people back, huh? I like it. Ok, we're running out of time. The track is gonna start.
I pulled the lever for the legendary item after getting a chocolate pie and a plunger. I'm just hoping I get something good from that legendary item.
After a few seconds…

Snowy… Day? That's a weird name for an item. So it makes me invincible, I feel 100 times cold, and I move faster. Hmm… so I wonder if I can touch people with it. I guess it will be funny.
After three items were selected, the touch screen was now loading, signaling that my outfit will be brought to me in seconds. It will be a little embarrassing that I'm going to be changing, but it's just so that I don't want to get my clothes fouled according to Darius.
It's my first time doing a newer event like this. And I'm doing my best to… actually have fun. I never used it in a while. Probably. I think the beach back at Suzuran was more fun, but all I ever did was play Pac-Man at the arcade. So I guess roller skating shouldn't be a problem at all.
After a few more seconds, I then saw that my suit and roller skates were on the chair. So I took off my shirt, pants and shoes, sat on the chair and tried to put on my bodysuit. I think people use their feet first to put on the suit, so I attempted to slide my feet into the suit first and I went for the bottom part of the suit. It's like I'm putting on pants so that part went normal for me. The hands, I almost struggled on that one, but I managed to pull through.
"I think everyone's ready." I heard Lunia say.
"You ok back there, Kaze?" Mom asked me.
"Yeah. I'm just zipping up my suit and putting on my roller skates." I said as I was doing those things.
"Alright, we'll be waiting for you on the track."
"Ok."
Others are waiting for me. I gotta pick up.
After zipping up my suit and putting on my roller skates, I tested to see if I could keep my balance.
"Let's see if I remember how to do this." I said to myself.
I then started to roller skate my way out of the dressing rooms and to the portals. I was going to make a turn until…
"Ahh!"
*THUD*
I lost my balance and fell face-first.
I hope nobody saw that. That floor feels like rubber.
Luckily I was one hundred percent fine, so I stood up and controlled my balance. I headed towards the last portal that was open for the speedway. Once I got inside, I noticed that I was about to get teleported from the building into the track.
Let's see how this one goes.
After being teleported for a few seconds, I was now inside the speedway where the track was huge and it was indoors which was good enough. The floor was made of wood so that should be perfect enough.
"Oh ok. Good. You made it." My mom said as she was standing next to me.
"*sigh* I knew this track would be this big."
"I never believed it either." Mom said.
"I never actually wanted this track to be that big, but I guess the straights make it more comfortable so I just… bear with it." I heard Riley say who was next to Mom.
"True. The straights are comfortable in my opinion."
*ALRIGHT, RACERS! TAKE YOUR MARK!*
"Oh we're starting." Mom said. "Just be careful, Sweetie."
"I hear you." I said to her.
This is about to get intense. I can definitely tell.
*THREE*
*TWO*
*ONE*
*GO*
At that moment we were roller skating as fast as we could until…
*SMACK* *SMACK* *SMACK*
"Mom!" I shouted at mom as we were smacking each other unnecessarily trying to roller skate.
"You are hitting me!" Mom shouted back.
*THUD*
"Woah Woah Woah!"
*THUD*
Me, Mom and Riley fell on the ground after losing our balance.
"Why were you hitting me?!" I asked mom.
"It's called being competitive! I couldn't help it!" Mom shouted.
"Nine others are gonna be far away if we don't catch up!" Riley shouted.
"Alright! No time to waste!" Mom shouted as she stood up and started skating aggressively.
Ok. That's fine. I won't play nice either.
"Have fun being last!" I heard Riley say to me as she dashed off really fast.
Without any hesitation I stood up and roller skated as fast as I could. Since mom caught me off guard with her smacking me while we were roller skating, I was able to keep my balance and approached the first turn.
I then grabbed an item box and smashed it until I was given a plunger, the rare item that I got from that slot machine.
I then aimed towards the target in front of me which was Riley who was ahead of me. So I thrusted my plunger. And somehow, the cup grew very large and charged straight towards Riley.
"Woah Woah! What the?!" I heard Riley yell as she was being pulled back.
"Sorry! It was for the best!" I said to her as I skated past her.
I really am in 11th place after a poor start.
I continued to push forward along the straight line.
"Oi! Oi! Oi!" I then saw Alexis slipping on the floor and falling on the ground.
"Ha!" I then heard Darius mock her from behind.
"Oh no you don't!" Alexis shouted as she got to her feet quickly as soon as we were about to pass her.
"This line is so straight." I said as I was moving forward.
And how did Alexis slip and fall early? Was it those sticky blueberries that mom was talking about?
I looked down using my eyes to make sure there weren't any sticky blueberries because my last resort would've been to jump over them no matter if I slip and fall.
When I looked down, there weren't any blueberries up ahead so I should be fine for now. I wonder what sticky blueberries look like. I wonder if they are gooey.
…
I guess that'll have to wait for now.
I'm approaching the next item boxes up ahead and I'm in 10th place. Hopefully I can get something that I need.
*THUD*
*CRASH*
"Oh Crap!"
There were multiple racers that fell on the track. Probably because of an item that caused them to knock them down. So I quickly moved out of the way to avoid tripping over a person.
"That's what happens when you don't get competitive!" I heard Alexis yell from behind.
I wonder if that was four or five people. Because if it was five, then that's gotta be a huge turn of events.
I grabbed the item box that was up ahead and smashed it.
And all I got was a chocolate pie. But I didn't have anyone to throw it to because the other racers including mom (If I can see her) are so far ahead. So I decided to just hold it.
Aw, no. I feel like I'm going to get hit.
*ZOOM*
"Huh?!"
I then saw Lunia who was speeding past me after noticing that her skates had lasers in the back.
Wait, Lunia has nitrous?! How many does she— forget it. I have to do it now.
I then threw my chocolate pie…
*SLIP*
*THUD*
Then fell down afterwards. I came to my feet quickly and started skating again.
"C'mon Blue Football!" I heard Zack shout.
I then saw a… blue football with wings up in the air heading past not me, not Lunia, but the other racers up ahead. I don't know what that does but I'm hoping something bad is about to happen.
Please be something good.
*WARP SOUND*
It captured ALL of them?! I see why this gets competitive.
And that incident put Lunia in first place, and I'm in second where Riley was inches toward me. And it's only the first lap.
*POOF*
I then heard a poof noise but I just ignored it because I didn't want to lose my focus on the race. So I played along.
I was now approaching the third row item boxes only until…
*SNAP*
"What the?"
I felt my collar being grabbed. Probably being attached to something. It was starting to slow me down and it lasted until a few seconds later…
*BUMP*
"Oh my goodness!" I felt myself losing control again after I got bumped from behind, but somehow I managed to stand still.
"Thanks for that." I then heard Dimes say as he was attempting to snatch the item boxes from me.
Luckily there was another one I could grab but that was until…
"I'll take that." Riley said as she took the item box before I could get a chance to grab it.
How did she get there so quickly?! Ugh! If it wasn't for that hook, I could've easily grabbed an item box!
I then shook it off as I continued to keep skating.
"Come on, Kaze! Try to keep up!" I heard Mom shout as she was on the verge of passing me.
"This gets way too intense if you ask me!" I shouted.
"It is intense! But it's also fun!" Mom shouted.
We were now approaching the second lap of the race and I'm already in fifth place due to Riley taking my item box, Dimes trying to slow me down with that hook and pass me, and Alexis coming out of nowhere and passing me.
I don't even know how Lunia is so far ahead. I know it's the beginning but she's in first because of Zack throwing a blue football to send multiple people back.
I thought one person would be sent back. Or can multiple people get warped. I'll figure it out later.
The turn as well as the items were about to approach several seconds after we just made it to the second lap. Hopefully I don't find myself distracted this time.
Especially mom. She cheated at the beginning of the race.
"How is mom all the way up front?! She's not getting by me!" Darius yelled.
But… she is on top. I mean there's still plenty of time. Never mind.
"I'm not getting beaten by an adult! I'm an ace!" Alexis yelled as she was doing her best to skate faster.
We were approaching the item boxes, which were the same as before. I grabbed one and smashed it.
What came out was a plunger. Which is good enough for me.
Perfect.
"Oi! You got a plunger, sweetie?!" I heard mom say to me. "I got something perfect."
I ignored her as I continued to skate towards my target. In front of me was Alexis.
"That ain't gonna fly!" I heard Kris say who was behind mother.
*POW*
"Woah Woah Woah! WOAH!"
I then heard my mother get hit by something from behind, but I don't know what it is because I'm busy trying to aim towards my target.
See ya at last, Mom!
"Heads up!"
Heads up?!
*WOOSH*
That was close! Wait! Was that a banana being used as a boomerang?!
"Crap! I dropped my boomerang!" Kris shouted as he dropped his boomerang.
He dropped it. Thank goodness. I would've been toast.
I then continued to put all my focus on Alexis since she is in front of me. I kinda felt bad for her after what she went through in the first lap, but it's still competitive in the end, so I decided to play it off like it was nothing.
To be honest, she's too quick as I couldn't catch up to her, but my best bet for this is to just hold it until someone stops her or she makes a mistake.
But then all of the sudden..
"Ahhh! What the heck!"
"Woah!"
"Oh god!"
"You can't be serious! Who has that sticky mold item?!"
I almost dropped to the floor again until I realized that the roller skates were covered up in sticky dirt.
"Ew! Is this… poop?!" I whined as I covered my nose.
"HA! She said, "Is that poop?!" That's crazy!" I heard Miles shout from all the way behind.
I couldn't help it.
"That's what happens when you get stuck in mud." Scarlett said as she came out of nowhere and passed not only me, but the other racers as well.
That was Scarlett?! What type of item was that?! Was that a legendary item?!
*POOF*
"Oh. It wore off." I said as I continued skating.
It was a rare occurrence. No wonder how I got myself into a sticky situation. That dirt kinda smelled too so it would be best to just cover my nose for whenever someone has that dirt item.
Wait… Crap! I didn't use my plunger! Probably because of the stinky dirt that caught me off guard. Luckily I'll catch up to Scarlett.
I continued to move straight as we were approaching the next items ahead. I already have the plunger so I don't think I'll get another item.
The next option for me was to skate through the items so I can target Scarlett. It was concerning that she was moving slower. So that was my chance to use the plunger.
Alright, Scarlett. Prepare to be thrown to last.
I then used the plunger to capture Scarlett up ahead and then…
"I knew it was coming to me!" I heard Scarlett say as I pulled her back.
"I'ma need that spot!" I said to Scarlett as I skated past her.
After skating past her, I was back in fifth place. The turn was coming a few yards away and I hadn't reached first yet.
Speaking of which, Lunia is still in first place. It's gonna be harder to catch up afterwards.
And I thought Darius and Kris would be faster than Lunia. Is Lunia actually good at this?
"Oh god! Soda sprayer!" I heard Riley shout.
Soda sprayer? What types of items does this event have?
"It's for the best! I need to take advantage!" I heard Zack say.
"W-W— I'm getting wet too?!" I asked, looking shocked after feeling wet from behind. Probably from that soda sprayer.
"Haha! Always drink beverages." I heard Zack as his soda sprayer went away.
I grabbed an item box from the third row of boxes and smashed it.
And I got another plunger.
"Sorry, Zack." I said as I thrusted my plunger towards
Zack.
"Wait! Mmmph!"
Wait, why did I grab his face? No going back.
I then pulled him over to me.
"I didn't know what I was doing. Sorry about that." I said with a nervous giggle.
"*Deep Breath* You somehow got me tired from that." Zack said to me.
"Well, oops."
"I'll get her for ya, Z!"
*CRACK*
"Huh?! Woah Woah, Why am I going backwards! Why am I— ACK!"
*THUD*
Miles cracked something that caused me to go backwards. I didn't know what that was, but my position took a beating too as I went from fifth to last again.
Was that a glitch?! What was he doing to my tires?! This has got to be cheating at this rate!

I'm gonna pull off a comeback.
I stood up on my own feet and started skating again. I made it to the final lap of the speedway and I'm dead last again with all the other racers far away from me.
Getting first place is now an impossibility at this rate but if someone can hold off the first place leader, I might have a chance. This might be the easiest straight I've ever skated through.
After skating a few more feet I approached the item boxes, grabbed one and smashed it.
Snowy day! Now's my chance!
I then put it towards my body and my body started feeling really chilly and my skates were moving faster so I started to skate as fast as I could.
Oh my! I'm really getting close! I see Miles down on the ground so I should take 11th.
"Scarlett got another dirt pit! Impossible!"
Wait! And I still have "Snowy Day" activated! This could be my chance!
I then started to skate faster with a little bit of time left.
Then, I went past Riley…
"You have "Snowy Day", Kaze?!"
Then past, Omar…
"Are you serious!"
Then past Mom, then Dimes in which I don't know how he got seventh, then past Kris, Alexis and then Zack again. I was now in fourth place at that time. Darius was up front.
"C'mon dirt wear off! C'mon! Kaze is coming! " I heard Darius say.
*SMACK*
"Bring your jacket!" I teased Darius as I smacked him in the back using snowy day and got by him
"ACK! I'm getting cold! I'm cold!"
*giggle* That was too funny.
*POOF*
"Ugh! Ran out of time." I said to myself with an annoyed look.
I grabbed the item box up ahead and smashed it.
It was a chocolate pie. And up ahead was Lunia.
"Wait, Kaze! Please don't hit—"
*ZOOM*
I went past her instead of hitting her. I wanted to hit Scarlett, who was in first place. I was somehow close to her and I think I have a chance of taking her down.
This is what I call "Comeback City".
"I'm inches away! Finally! I hope I don't…"
"Scarlett! Dessert!" I shouted as I threw my chocolate pie at Scarlett.
*SPLAT*
"GAH! What pie is on— Woah woah woah!"
*CRASH*
Scarlett then lost control and fell to the floor, leaving me with first place.
Sorry, Scarlett. I needed this.
I continued to skate forward as we were at the homestretch of the race. I'm just so far ahead. It's like I just couldn't see them. Or hear them.
After falling from the rankings, I could taste victory here. Hopefully another item doesn't stand in my way.
Wait… is that… a boost panel? I've heard about those.
I skated towards that boost panel and my skates started to go faster as I was about to approach the final five item boxes.
My goodness! Am I about to win this?!
I grabbed the final item box, smashed it and what was inside was a chocolate pie. So I held the pie and kept skating.
I was just inches away from the finish line. I could taste it.
Did I just pull off a miracle?! Wow! I… I don't know what to…
"No you don't, Kaze!"
Lunia?! I gotta hurry! C'mon skates! Don't fail me, don't fail me, don't fail me, don't fail me, PLEASE don't fail me!
I was almost at the finish line and Lunia was almost about to pass me and I was pushing as fast as I could. My heart was beating so fast, this could definitely be a nail-biter.
C'mon… Almost there.
"This is close!"
Ah, Forget it!
The finishing line was right there so I threw the pie to my left and dived for the finished line as this was my last resort. And then moments later…
*CHECKERED FLAG!*
My hand reached over the checkered floor. And Lunia finished in the top 3 as well.
"Did I win?! I think I won that!" I heard Lunia ask.
*FIRST PLACE! CONGRATULATIONS!*
I looked at the huge screen. And…

…
I won. And that was really close too.
*sigh* Thank… goodness. It's my first win.
"Ugh! I thought I won!" Lunia yelled.
"*giggle* Good try, Lunia." I said while catching my breath.
Being houdini really paid off.
"Wow. You actually won, Kaze." Lunia said as she was skating towards me.
"I went through a lot, Lunia." I said.
"Ugh. Kaze won?!" Alexis shouted as she was the last person to reach the top 3.
"I tried passing her as fast as I could, but… she was way too fast." Lunia said.
"That's because I saw her with that "Snowy Day" item. Did you see that, too?"
"I was about to get hit with that chocolate pie…"
"So my Kaze won her first race?! That was epic!" I heard mom yell.
"Probably because Scarlett gave her that win." Lunia said. "I was trying to wait for that dirt to disappear, but I was trying to yell at the dirt, wiggle my skates, but it wouldn't come off."
"And of course I didn't make the top three or first place because of the dirt!" I heard Darius yell.
Man… this one was a toughie.
After everyone finished their last lap of the race, we all teleported back to the lobby and we went to our dressing rooms. I gotta be honest, it was really fun racing with everyone. Although it was intense the first two laps with my mom cheating in the first lap and having my tires being moved backwards by Miles in the second lap, I managed to still have fun.
I didn't know what I was gonna do with the items since I feared that I might slip and fall, causing me to fall in the rankings so I decided to hold them just in case someone was near me. Zack on the other hand… I didn't know why I was plunging his face. I was going for the body, but somehow I was going for his face. It's probably because the targeting was bad.
"I can't believe that stinky dirt item helped Kaze finish first." Alexis said.
"I didn't know how she came from behind and threw a pie at me. I was just doing perfectly well until Kaze came out of nowhere." Scarlett said.
By the way, according to her, I heard that she finished ninth place after me throwing that chocolate pie at her.
I wonder if she's mad at me for ruining her perfect moment. Although this is my first race.
Anyway, all of us were currently changing back to our normal clothes. Sadly, there were no medals for first, second or third so we just decided to move along. I had fun, my mom had fun, even everyone had fun. This was my first time having fun in a while.

Ok… maybe that Pac-Man game back in Suzuran was fun, but this one was better.
"You had fun, Kaze?" Mom asked me after I changed back to my normal clothes.
"Yeah. I had fun." I said with a smile.
"I'm still shocked that you beat me. Although this was your first time." Scarlett said to me.
"I'm sorry. I was just… getting frustrated mainly because of the items that were causing me to fall down in the rankings so I decided to stand my ground."
"I understand. Stuff like that happens."
"Now you see why this gets competitive, right?" Lunia asked me.
"I can see." I said.
"But you still won, so I'm proud." Mom said.
I never thought I would win something so competitive.
"Alright, let's return back to the lobby. The others should be there." Lunia said.
And so, we all walked back to the lobby to meet up with the others. I can obviously tell that they must be jealous because of Scarlett cheating. I don't blame Scarlett because she helped me out big time in that third lap.
"Gentlemen! We're over here!" Lunia shouted as he found the six other boys. "How did y'all feel about Kaze's win?"
"It was a pretty good win. That was good." Zack said with a nod.
"I didn't think she would come from behind after I used the Glitchy Crystal." Miles said.
The Glitchy Crystal? That one was probably a legendary item.
"Yeah, I did not see that coming either." Darius said. "I mean, Mom almost beat you at the second. Heck, you would've not played this anymore."
"Well… I wouldn't say that I could quit playing this if Lunia had beaten me at the last second because she was going really fast due to the nitrous she was using." I explained.
"Oh she probably has those quintuple mini nitrous juices. That's why she kept passing us in the first place." Miles said.
Quintuple mini nitrous juices? These items are weird.
"That's correct." Lunia said.
"I wanted to prove myself that I can come up big, but I think those items were mainly the reason why I was struggling." Mom said with a huge sigh.
"I think you only did good in the beginning." Dimes said. "The rest of the way through, you were just stinking it up."
Maybe I should study these items, so that I know which one does what.
"Speaking of which, I think Zack had those tables turned after five people were so far ahead." Alexis said.
"Yeah, I think he was the one with that blue football he had. Not to mention *giggle* he *giggle* he *giggle* he got sucked in the face by Kaze's plumber." Miles said while controlling his laugh.
"Wow." Mom said to me.
"I didn't know what I was doing." I said with a shrug.
"Well… I'll let that go. For now." Zack said.
"You mad, Z?" Miles asked.
"No. I'm not mad. This is her first time after all."
"Alright, we should be going now. We'll see you around, Dimes. Miles. Omar. Riley." Lunia said.
"Alright, Lady Lunia. A'ight, bro." Dimes said to Darius as they were giving high fives. Not only Darius did that but he did that to Miles.
"I'll see you later, Riley." Scarlett said to her friend.
"Ok. Call me." Riley said to her.
The eight of us then exited the building, leaving us with nothing to do afterwards. We've talked about the six stones and now we have nothing to do afterwards now that we had fun at Roller Rocket Racing.
"That was fun, right?" Alexis asked me.
"It actually was. I never thought I would do something so eventful."
"Well, there's more exciting things to do around here. Nobody can beat this dimension as the popular dimension. Or domain since this is my domain after all." Lunia said.
"It kinda is. I wish I could explore here some more, but that would take too long since I might not be able to finish before dark." I said.
"Yeah. So now you understand Hyperdrive City." Kris said.
"This is way better since there is nothing much to do in the United Kingdom." Mom said.
"Well, you can come by again if you like to hang around. But I also need you, Kaze. Not right now though. It's just for something else."
"Oh… Um, ok. If it's that serious, then I'll oblige." I said.
"Alright. You have my thanks then." Lunia said.
"ALERT! ALERT! BAD NEWS! BAD NEWS! WE HAVE BAD NEWS!"
That definitely scared me! Who said that?!
"Calm down, Adonis! You don't need to be in a panic!" Lunia said to a man with blonde curly hair and green eyes. He was also wearing green glasses. "What's the bad news?!"
"It's the orange stone! The Stone of Protection that's in the United Kingdom! Thanos found that stone!"
"WHAT?!" All eight of us were one hundred percent shocked at what the man just said.
Did he say… Thanos found the stone in the United Kingdom?!
Author's Note: I'm really sorry that I took this long to update. This chapter took me a whole lot of thinking during newer introductions of newer characters in this chapter in terms of human categorization. I know how everyone is in this world and it was really hard to decide what to do with the four new characters' personalities so I just decided to play along and not make a big deal about it because I'm not wasting any more time. I gotta move on. I haven't uploaded in weeks.
So it's almost the end of the year. I'm just so excited because 2020 was a pain in the ass. I'm not lying, like at all. But I'm also not here to talk about it. So here's a random question for 2021. What are your goals for the year and what are you looking forward to the most? If you don't wanna answer, it's fine. I don't have anything in my mind either. I might get a notebook if I need it.
