Chapter 40: Keeping A Notice On Gemma

On the way back home, I took the time to text Gemma about Thanos' appearance recently. I wanted to do this because maybe she's also kept her eyes peeled on the news about Thanos.

I wanted to go back and tell her one more thing, but I can walk home and text her at the same time. Mom is expecting me back no later than this afternoon.

You know, having celebrities to join me on searching for the other stones might not be an easy thing to do on my end. I already have Blue as my first teammate. But… I guess recruiting Gemma will have to wait until sometime after the Royal Rally. Doing it on the spot would probably force her to be unattended there which would be disappointing for me. Probably because it might have people turning her back on her for not showing up and it could jeopardize her ego.

I think that might be the right decision. Maybe I can have some fun at the Royal Rally. Then it's back to doing the recruiting. Time is of the essence so I should probably start the day after the Royal Rally.

After a few more minutes of walking, I reached my house while trying to get a response from Gemma. Luckily, Mom left the door open for me so I was able to get in.

"I'm home, mom!" I shouted as I was trying to get her response.

"I'm upstairs!" I heard Mom say from upstairs.

I made my way towards the stairs to see that mom was slouching in her bed in her room. No wonder why.

"Wow, mom. You must be tired that fast, no?" I asked.

"I wasn't tired. I was bored and had nothing to do. I wish your father came by and helped us."

*sigh* Dad…

"So… you seem to be pretty sweaty. Did you find your foe?" Mom asked.

"Yeah… and it was another opponent that I unexpectedly ran into."

"Unexpectedly? Was it Candace?!"

"It was Gemma January. The girl that Blue was mentioning in the video chat a few nights ago." I said.

"Oh. How nice. Did you two have a good time?"

"She was really nice. I didn't notice her appearance until now and I thought she would be more of a… princess than Candace but she is super cool. She befriended me after all."

"She did?!"

"After quite a good conversation."

"That's great to hear! It seems you are making a name for yourself."

"Well she was always nice and energized. Her reputation was always through the roof because of that."

"I see. Maybe you should accompany her more."

"Accompany her? Well… I would, but that would take up too much time for her and myself."

"Huh? What do you mean?" Mom asked, looking confused.

"I can't lose focus on recruiting people to join us on searching for the legendary stones, and Gemma has to take care of competing in the Royal Rally. So it's going to be difficult to get them to join me and get them to Hyperdrive City."

"Why can't you ask Xavier and Lucas?" Mom asked.

"I would, but they would be the ones doing all the work and I found the stones first so I have to decide who I should definitely rely on. Someone who can handle magic."

"But you said it would be difficult to get Gemma to join you on our assignment."

"I know, but I still have to try. Maybe it'll be another way she could receive lots of fans if I bring her. Everyone's gonna notice she and I have put a stop to this world-ending madness."

"I sure hope you know what you're doing, Kaze. It's not easy getting the people that you want."

"I get it. But a Matsuzaki like myself has to have heart. But I can't overdo it."

"Alright. I can trust you as long as you know what you are doing."

*NOTIFICATION CHIME*

"Ah. My phone." I reached into my bag and grabbed my phone.

"Is that Blue?" Mom asked.

"It's from Gemma. I asked her about Thanos' appearance. Anyway, I'm about to get myself sorted out."

I left her room and went into my room while trying to see what Gemma texted on her phone.

And on her phone, she texted…

"Yeah! I actually did hear about him! I bet he is planning something evil again! But I don't know what that is!"

"Ok. I didn't want to tell you this in the first place but I know what he is plotting. But it'll have to wait until after you finish the Royal Rally. Likely because you have to be prepared for the Royal Rally." I texted

*NOTIFICATION CHIME*

"Ok. I'll be patient. I'm surprised you knew all of this."

*NOTIFICATION CHIME*

"Just to keep you posted, tomorrow evening, we're also having a party and a presentation for the Royal Rally. It's at Vander Hearts Street. Candace and I might be in attendance since we are both the competitors."

That literally shocked me.

"Wait. The Royal Rally's Tomorrow?!"

*NOTIFICATION CHIME*

"No, silly! It's start's the day after tomorrow! Lol!"

Oh… thank goodness.

"Oh ok. For a second, you talking about the party and a presentation literally shocked me. I thought it would signal the Royal Rally's tomorrow."

*NOTIFICATION CHIME*

"I'm pretty sure nobody kept you up to date. Shocker."

"More importantly, I was more focused on other things outside of that."

*NOTIFICATION CHIME*

"If you are interested in going to the presentation, you can go. However, there is one requirement in order for you to go."

"And that is?"

*NOTIFICATION CHIME*

"You must have £11.33."

"That's it? They're just charging money?"

*NOTIFICATION CHIME*

"That's it, honestly. They just want to make this party special."

But with that amount of money? Well… it's like earning money to enhance technology at a stadium or something.

"I see. Well… hopefully it'll be good."

*NOTIFICATION CHIME*

"I promise it's gonna be good. Just swing by at 5:30 PM tomorrow. With £11.33 in your hand it'll make you feel amazed."

"I'll see if I can get my mom to drop me off." I texted.

*NOTIFICATION CHIME*

"Alrighty!"

"Hey, mom!" I said as I went towards her room. "So Gemma told me that there was a party and a presentation for the Royal Rally that starts tomorrow at 5:30 PM. She and Candace as well as a few other people might be in attendance for this event."

"Oh yeah? You want to go there?" Mom asked.

"Yeah, but… I have to pay £11.33 to get in."

"£11.33? That isn't bad. You are only going to a party… I hope it's not… perverted-like."

"N-N-No. Gemma told me it's a very fun party once I get to see it." I said while blushing.

"I know. But I still hope you're not going to a party that I do not want you to be in."

"Don't worry. It's a Royal rally. It's not gonna be like that." I said.

"I sure hope not. Remind me tomorrow since I might forget."

"I will."

I went back to my room and changed my current clothes as I was getting ready to spend the rest of the day doing whatever. I never expected that the presentation would start tomorrow, but hopefully Blue, Xavier and Lucas are coming.

But I wonder who are the five others that Gemma talked about. Wendell, Aidan, Cheyenne, Emily and Juniper.

…

Maybe they must've befriended those five. I wonder if they are coming too. It's a lot of questions to be asked tomorrow.

…

After I tell Lunia that I'll pick up the pace on recruiting some people on this search for the stones.

Author's Note: So just a quick chapter today. Nothing special about it. Tomorrow will be the party and presentation of the Royal Rally. On top of that, we might be able to meet MORE characters on top of that so keep in mind. But the presentation and the party won't start until after a few more chapters. There's a lot Kaze has to get through in order to do just that.
